The phone agent told me I will be responsible for the full price bill next month, which I said was fine. You have to wonder what company does not allow cancellation at corporate store. His ex-wife had a Spectrum account and still does but they bug him monthly with emails and phone calls about past due bills, which are hers, not his. Each month, when he contacts customer service, they tell him it's not on him, but it's on her, but each month they continue to bug him. Why they can't just leave him alone is a mystery. He has always dealt with them on the phone for these past months, which was usually an hour and a half phone that didn't resolve a thing, so he decided to come in a try to get it resolved face to face. OUTCOME UPDATE: This location cannot deal with CA accounts so they put him on the phone with customer service. He went through the whole story again as he has done every month now for several months. He finally told them to just disconnect the service and the customer service representative hung up on him.

It was clear she was following a script, asking me all sort of demographic information that was not necessary for canceling an account. I eventually asked her to skip the script which she did. She informed me that I would have to pay for the entire billing cycle, which was three additional weeks. I asked her to cancel today and prorate the bill. She said she could not. Tamiqua was wonderful and I give her full credit however Spectrum continues to be a greedy corporation, not really interested in positive client relations.

If you are in the round rock area and you are obtaining spectrum service, I highly suggest you only work online and have your equipment delivered, because visiting this branch is frustrating and literally a waste of time. They make it a pain to cancel your internet service. The process takes 20 minutes or more on the…read morephone which is ridiculous. They will ask you: "Why are you canceling?" And if you say you are switching to another company, e.g. Google Fiber, they will waste 5 minutes of your time trying to convince you why their internet service is better than the other company. The simplest answer you can tell them is: "I'm going off the grid and don't need internet anymore." Even then they will try twice to sell you a different internet package, and a bundled package. Even when you tell them "I don't want any services from Spectrum" they insist on reading their upsell script to you. I had pretty good internet service with them while it lasted, but the cancellation process is beyond annoying.

In the first instance, when we were trying to resolve my 91-year-old father-in-law's account (an automatic draft had failed), he simply stated the bill was overdue and offered no help or insight. We had to figure out the cause ourselves. The second time, a phone was incorrectly ordered with a new line instead of the existing one. He dismissed us, told us to go to Best Buy, and made no effort to solve the confusion. He avoided eye contact and seemed indifferent throughout. In contrast, other staff here explain issues thoroughly. I would avoid dealing with this employee if possible.

Ever since Timewarner cable changed to Spectrum, I've had nothing but issues with them. Last year, I called to cancel my account because I wanted fiber optic and the retention specialist offered to cut my bill and increase my internet speed. I stayed because it was a comparative deal. After analysis, the internet did not appear to increase in speed. Instead, I was constantly losing connection. They had to have someone come out to diagnose the issue, but it was inconclusive. So they gave me another router. I was still experiencing slow and choppy internet. After getting irritated with the issue a few months later, I logged into my account to check my speed and the funny thing is that suddenly; the website stopped displaying the Mbps information. I've always been able to see that before, but it was no longer available. I called to ask what my speed was and they could not answer my question. The representative was so apologetic about the fact that they could not find that information... why? Because they are no competition for 1000mbps offered by fiber optic. I will be honest and admit that I procrastinated on changing providers because I was busy but I finally got fed up after working from home because of the 2020 chaos. I called again, and still, they could not tell me which internet speed plan I had. Ironically, I got a flyer from them in the mail telling me to save and bundle. It also told me I was on 300mbps. AT&T offered me 1000mbps for the exact same price I was already paying. I canceled and was told that since I was 6 days in my billing cycle, I still have to pay a full bill. They refused to pro-rate my final bill. I guess they need the money. That's the last payment they will ever get from me, so I hope they invest it in something other than trying to compete in this industry. Good riddance!
