Don't waste your time no matter what kind of cheap deal they offer. They have the worst internet product and poor customer service. The customer service agents are not knowledgeable and read from a script the whole time you try to talk to them. Ever since Timewarner cable changed to Spectrum, I've had nothing but issues with them. Last year, I called to cancel my account because I wanted fiber optic and the retention specialist offered to cut my bill and increase my internet speed. I stayed because it was a comparative deal. After analysis, the internet did not appear to increase in speed. Instead, I was constantly losing connection. They had to have someone come out to diagnose the issue, but it was inconclusive. So they gave me another router. I was still experiencing slow and choppy internet. After getting irritated with the issue a few months later, I logged into my account to check my speed and the funny thing is that suddenly; the website stopped displaying the Mbps information. I've always been able to see that before, but it was no longer available. I called to ask what my speed was and they could not answer my question. The representative was so apologetic about the fact that they could not find that information... why? Because they are no competition for 1000mbps offered by fiber optic. I will be honest and admit that I procrastinated on changing providers because I was busy but I finally got fed up after working from home because of the 2020 chaos. I called again, and still, they could not tell me which internet speed plan I had. Ironically, I got a flyer from them in the mail telling me to save and bundle. It also told me I was on 300mbps. AT&T offered me 1000mbps for the exact same price I was already paying. I canceled and was told that since I was 6 days in my billing cycle, I still have to pay a full bill. They refused to pro-rate my final bill. I guess they need the money. That's the last payment they will ever get from me, so I hope they invest it in something other than trying to compete in this industry. Good riddance! read more

The 4th time this month the internet has been out for hours. It's now 8:00 PM. I'm in zip code 78612 for records. We lost internet before 1:00PM. Was first advised it would be back on by 3:00 PM. 5 hours later, I get advice from your worthless customer service department to go near "said place" and connect to hotspot. I don't pay my bill each month to go cruising for hot spots.. This is the 4th time this month. 4th time. It's like I've called into work 4 times, because I can't get any work done. I've spent HOURS on the phone trying to get this absolute joke of a company to stop charging me for TV services I never asked for and never used. I moved three months ago and had my Internet transferred to my new address. I was told everything would stay the same and I would continue paying the same amount I'd been paying for a year. Well come to find out two months later they took some creative liberties with my account. My bill more than doubled AND they started charging me late fees because my autopay didn't transfer from my old address like I was told it would (which was maybe for the best since they were overcharging me, but I should not have to pay late fees for their mistake). The first time I called to correct this, they told me NOT TO PAY until the "Crediting department" corrected my bill. And then proceeded to send me to collections for not paying LIKE THEY TOLD ME TO. They refuse to take TV services off of my account because according to them, my internet would cost more per month if they removed TV. The math isn't mathing! It's been an absolute nightmare that never ends. I am transferred from person to person and lied to over and over again. I just want to get my bill squared away so I can cancel my services and get Google Fiber. On top of having the world's worst customer service, their internet is also a joke. I can't tell you how many important work calls have been interrupted because my internet just goes out randomly. Sometimes for minutes sometimes FOR LITERAL HOURS. I'm convinced dealing with Spectrum is some sort of karmic punishment for something terrible I did in a past life because there's no other logical explanation. I walked into this store and was immediately greeted by an overwhelming smell of B.O. The workers even started spraying air freshener to try to mask it. Then I chatted w one of their reps who began as relatively helpful and then started messing around with his mouse for like five whole minutes while I stood there in front of his station waiting for him to finish entering my info. I took time off work to come be there and the guy couldn't be bothered to even help me out. Then after 15-20 minutes of standing around, I found out they didn't even have the right equipment in store. Then the rep starts trying to upsell me instead. Absolute waste of my time. Absolutely World Class awful. Their customer service is now the worst I have ever experienced anywhere . I am an 8 year customer. Everything I describe in this review occurred in the last 7 weeks. Beginning Feb 2 we experienced a prolonged outage, which was understandable due to an ice storm. The My Spectrum App provided me with worthless conflicting information telling me on two different occasions during this critical time that the outage would be resolved within hours. Then that information would disappear and was replaced with the message "we are working on the outage", with no information as to estimated restoration of service. After this situation repeated the second time I decided to call customer service. That was a total waste. I began dealing with off shore people reading scripts. When I finally spoke to someone US based they were equally worthless. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told they would call me back "within 48 hours". After waiting 96 hours I called back and was told "supervisors don't do callbacks. I had to call back and got through to someone who identified himself as a supervisor who told me "we sometimes do callbacks". Since he was otherwise worthless, I asked that my situation be escalated to a manager, the supervisor said I would hear from one "that night". I was asked how late they could call I said 11:59 PM. That was six weeks ago. I have not heard from anyone connected with Spectrum. As a result of having my intelligence insulted and being lied to I decided to switch to the competition. Unfortunately that is a slow process and hasn't occurred yet. Last week my autopay which has worked for over four years was rejected And Spectrum notified me the next day via email. After getting the email I called and was told to call my bank and that there was a "problem with my credit card". I knew the problem was not on my end, told the rep this and proved it when I made a one time payment online, with the same credit card I used for autopay. The transaction went through just fine. I have no idea what the problem was and never heard anything about it from customer hating Spectrum. Thanks again Spectrum; at least your customer service is now consistently worthless and awful. Finally today I got an email saying I need "maintenance" in order to "prevent a future outage". When I called to find out what the specific problem is, the rep on the phone didn't know. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told a supervisor would call me back "within two hours". I told the rep that I was still still waiting for supervisors and managers to call me back from early February and was tired of being lied to. It is now been five hours and guess what? No call from the supervisor. So if you like wasting hours of time dealing with this clown show, the accompanying frustration and being lied to repeatedly, this is the tv and internet provider for you. Way to go Spectrum. We are getting an interruption every other day for all local channels with a screen note that the channel is not available. Generally happens during news time 5:30 to 6:00 PM. How Spectrum can say they are 99% reliable is far-fetched to say the least. Very poor service. read more

Customer service absolutely sucks. The representatives are very rude and have a big attitude. I needed help trying to get a phone I had with them (that was paid off already) unlocked. I was told one thing by one person how long it would take and then another person told me otherwise. Called again and said they were taking it up to the supervisor and the supervisor was taking so long so it took it the the "back office" and I would receive a call in 15 min since I was already on hold for over 30 min. NEVER received the call. Never received any email that the phone was unlocked like I was told was going to happen. Now I'm calling again and they NEVER SUBMITTED THE FORM TO BE UNLOCKED. Now they're telling me I can speak to a supervisor or he will not speak to me who is named Conrad. Also: if you ask for a supervisor they do NOT send you to a supervisor. I switched my Mobile service to Spectrum on March 9th. The service was so bad that I decided to cancel within the 14 days. I called on March 23rd or 24th to cancel the rep told me I was within the 14 days and he sent me an empty box and label to return the iPhone 13 promax. I received the the box on the 25th and immediately packed up the phone and took it to FedEx that day. I received a bill for the amount of the phone on Apr 11 called and informed someone that I returned the phone. She told me not to worry about it and that she will take care of it. Boy was I wrong! On May 11 I received another bill not only did Spectrum try to pull over $1000 out of my account for a phone that was returned to them in a box they sent to me with a label they generated but they are THEY are calling me a thief! I called this company again on yesterday and was on the phone with 2 reps both over and hour. I called and asked for a manager and the Rachel insisted on assisting me. She not only asked me for information about the tracking number that I received from Spectrum which I provided but she had the nerve to tell me that the phone was returned to my house and that I need to contact the police and call FedEx to run a trace I've told this girl the tracking number I gave you was the tracking number that I received from spectrum for the empty box that I used to send back the phone. I have never in my life dealt with someone who was so incompetent that I could just scream. I ask for the supervisor that I called for initially after an hour spending time on the phone for nothing. Then she had the nerve to tell me that I will receive a call from a supervisor within 24 to 48 hours. I will never ever deal with spectrum mobile again and as soon as my neighborhood have more than spectrum Internet I will be leaving this godforsaken company. I will be contacting their corporate office and they need to find that phone that I sent back to them and delete that bill what a trashy company. As of today the escalation department called me just to tell me that there's nothing that they can do because they do not have the device according to the escalation representative the empty box and label that their rep sent to me was for cable and Internet. So she is also telling me that it's a different warehouse so while they have the phone in a different warehouse they belong to spectrum they will continue to bill me $1054.16. I called charter to complain and guess what I got someone on the phone just as rude as all the other people I've been dealing with with spectrum this company is the worst the absolute worst I will never do business with them again and I absolutely will make sure I broadcast my experience to everybody I know they have a phone they need to credit my account and they need to do it fast read more

I called Spectrum to sort out why my automatic payments were not going through. They had changed the system and not updated credit cards. I had to call and request they remove the late fee because of their system error. That was fine. Then an agent told me that I could qualify for a lower monthly payment if I went into the office. I asked twice do I need to bring in my modem and router. Twice they said no. I went to the office and the office agent said no this is not possible at all. The person on the phone was incorrect. I called to escalate to management and have them listen to our recorded conversation. I requested compensation for misinformation and wasting my time and not lowering my monthly bill. They said we can waive the late fees (which was s Spectrum 's systems fault) and give you a $10 credit. With time and gas $10 is not enough. Have always disliked the Spectrum Internet service but cannot switch due to lack of infrastructure for other providers. This situation is absurd. What an unfortunate company. read more

Wish I could give it no stars. Way too expensive and as others have said, prices go up substantially and with no notification. They will not prorate your bill, so if you cancel one day after billing period you still pay for the month. They say that there is nothing they can do once the bill is printed, however, if you add services, they can add on the extra $$$ on the next billing cycle. Apparently, they just can't subtract! Also, prices quoted don't include "taxes and fees", which add up to quite a bit and can be quite a surprise. My advice is if you have a complaint, just go ahead and ask for a supervisor to begin with or you get nowhere. Unfortunately, there are no other options for internet or cable in many areas and they certainly take advantage of that. Good luck! read more

I am a hard-working healthcare professional who understands that things can happen. My experience with Spectrum is built over more than five years, not just an angry response to one phone call! We have been customers with Spectrum since 2017, with the internet, cable, and voice services. Our monthly bill went from just over $200/ month to over $370 a month! It looks like they are passing the loss of profit on to the existing customers to compensate for all lost business and people dropping cable TV in general. Our internet service is awful; their cable boxes are so primitive, they don't even have a clock, and they are all wired. I can not regret ever leaving AT&T, which back then had wireless boxes you could set and switch between the rooms! The Spectrum customer service is another disaster! They are rude, careless, and useless. Unfriendly all the way! They don't care about keeping the customers. If you ask them what they can do, they are lazy to offer any promotions to lower your bill! If you want to save yourself from stress and money, DO NOT GO TO SPECTRUM under any condition; they will raise your bill! Promises given when they first talk to you to get your business will not last too long! I agree with all customers' reviews that Spectrum has THE WORSE customer service. I will gladly return to AT&T, where we already have a family wireless phone plan, and where the customer is appreciated. read more

I spent over SIX hours on the phone with spectrum over a 2 week period trying to simply transfer my service from one address to another as I prepared to move. It turned into a nightmare, with every customer service rep having completely contradictory information from the next one, them shipping equipment I didn't ask for, not shipping equipment I did need they guaranteed would ship, saying the service was transferred when I was later informed via email it was not, and then vice versa, to me finally getting so fed up I canceled my account. The whole thing was crazy-making. Even some of the customer service reps I spoke with told me I had every right to be angry about what went on, and that they'd be even angrier than I was given how asinine the whole thing became. I even called back after I canceled it to ensure there were no other steps I needed to take. I was told there were none -- everything taken care of, no more Spectrum or bill to pay. Lo and behold, nearly 4 weeks later, I get a bill from them for the month! I called and wasted another 30 minutes of my life getting them to remove the charges. They also constantly violate the Do Not Call Registry by spoofing private people's phone numbers and using them to make frequent illegal robocalls. If you ask them nicely to stop calling, they will rudely hang up on you and then they seem to call you even more, like they want to punish you for asking them to follow the law. A 1 maybe pushing it. I was discussing Spectrum with a salesman. After telling what channels I had he told me I'd have all of them. I didn't. I had to get one of the packages! He assured me my phone was covered. It wasn't. He said set up is easy. It wasn't. Had to call for a tech to change wall hardware. He said I wouldn't need a remote. I do. He said internet was twice as fast as anyone else. It's not (I had my doubts.) I called the help line and he walked me thru steps to take when that happens. Sometimes it's so slow I can do some housework before it comes back. It will say it's working but it isn't really. Not sure how that works. Nothing he told me was true. I've had it now for about 2 months. Last night on the TV it said unable to connect, we're working on it. It was taking so long I just turned it off. I was a fool to switch. AT&T was A LOT better. I went in the East 5th location to pick up my equipment to self install and left extremely upset and disappointed ! I was treated very unprofessionally . Instead of informing me there was a mistake with my order, the manager Bella Garcia , treated me like a criminal as if I were trying to confiscate equipment illegally ? It was confusing . She didnt return my ID before attending other customers in the store and left me standing at the service counter indefinitely. Where upon I called spectrum customer service to report what was happening as a representative heard me and Ms. Garcia argue about her lack of service. I've never been treated so poorly in a place of business as the patron that pays the employees wages maybe they should revisit their customer treatment portion of the training program. When cable works, it is great. Hold times are "Always" excessive. "Everytime" I call, I get a recording stating that holds times are longer than usual. Very frustrating, clearly they need to expand staffing if that is the messaging I always get. I would never get Spectrum Mobile that they are marketing agressively, simply because hold times are inevitably over 30 min when trying to reach customer service. read more

Lately it has been riddled with outages and to make matters workse, they've charged me twice to have technicians come out and not even solve my problems. Run away as fast as you can. I was a 20 year cusomer before leaving spectrum due to terrible support. At an average of $120+ a moth over the years I spent $30,000+ dollars with their company and what do I get when I leave? Constant calls from Spectrum claiming I didnt turn my equipment in. In each of those calls I asked multiple times to have a supervisor reach out to me to discuss, each time I was told they would contact me only to have no supervisor and yet another random person from their collections department reach out. I returned the equipment to their Austin location and they did not check in, and they are not taking responsibility for it. At the end of the day after all the people they had call me and all the times they refused to let me speak with a supervisor... The grand total they sent to collections was $162 - are you kidding me??? So much for looking out for your customers. My advice, cut the cord and make sure you go with acompany who cares about customer satisfaction and isnt tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. Spectrum is by far the WORST internet provider I have ever had to deal with. Tried to cancel my service months ago, and whoever I spoke to did not put in for the cancellation. When I received a bill the next month and called them back to figure out what the issue was, a representative assured me he would take off the charge and gave instructions to return the equipment, which was done promptly. Next month, what do you know, another bill for TWICE the amount as before, including a fee for not returning the equipment. When I called once again to talk to someone, they told me I had said I was going to call back about the cancellation and never did. What? Then they proceeded to say, the person I spoke to never completed the cancellation process and for some reason that was now my fault and I was being charged excessively for it. This company is completely unprofessional and not even management knows what is going on. It is completely sad this is who took over Time Warner Cable and is offering their customers the absolute WORST customer service manageable. If I could give negative 5 stars I would.
