My wife and I were heading to Plymouth from Grafton and got a front tire blow out on 495. Luckily we have run flat tires which means no spare in the car. We got off at the Norton exit and was directed to High Tech Auto. I spoke with Andy and Mike who stated they could fix the tire once they free a mechanic up. Once the car was in the lift it was realized the tire could not be repaired it was an inner side wall gash about 2 inches long. Knowing we would be stuck and My wife was not feeling well, they went and found run flat tires that matched the ones on the car already and went in their personal vehicle to the warehouse to get them. It's a very busy garage and doing this showed me they truly care. They were very reasonable with price and worked quickly to get us on our way. The kindness they showed was genuine and we were treated like a long time customer. So much so in-fact that when we replace the rear tires we will go back to High Tech in Norton to give them business. The garage has nice new equipment was clean in the work areas as well as a nice clean waiting area and bathrooms. I want to say thank you again to Andy and Mike. You are both very appreciated. The owner of this shop is a complete A HOLE. I took a chance on this shop because they are one of Tire Racks Authorized Tire Installers. I stopped by to make an appointment and explained the situation to the service person at the desk and that i wanted the tires road forced balanced, which they do. He started to make an appointmentment for me when suddenly the owner came over and said "GO TO A DIFFERENT SHOP" . After being momenterily STUNED at his reaction, I asked him why? The service person dosen't have a problem. His answer was " BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO DO IT". yes.. That is exactly what he said, word for word, verbatim. I am not exsaggerating! I didn't say or do anything that would in any way warrent his rude responce. The owner obvioursly has serious additude issues and needs to get help ASAP. I am in my sixties, i consider myself very patiant and considerate of others and can't remember when i have ever been treated so rudly by any automotive shop or anyone for that matter and for no apparent reason. People, Please do your homework. I should have done my homework first. Real bad. My car overheated, and they kept it for two days, saying that they couldn't find anything wrong after flushing and adding coolant. My car overheated after driving 20 minutes, and now the gasket is damaged, and the car is worthless. Stay away from them! read more

These guys are great! If your buying a older car and need a good 1st inspection go here and have the person selling the car fix everything. I also had them change my alternator they did a perfect job. They have a very clean very nice set up. Bad customer service. Went in for a diagnostic because of an engine knock left with an engine knock. Paid $193 after they picked a piece of lint off a sensor and unplugged my battery for 10 mins to reset computer. Called right away let them know its still knocking and was told they would make it right if the knock didn't go away soon. Knock still there a week later and they said I would have to pay $125 for them to diagnose the knock lol read more

I have gone to High Tech for many years, but I am no longer going to take my car here. Last year, they failed my car on an inspection for a faulty emergency brake. I brought it back and they "fixed" it for me. Now, one year later, they failed me on inspection again for....the...exact...same...problem. And I barely use my emergency brake. Shoddy workmanship, to be sure. Plus, they're a rip-off on their prices. Oil changes are very overpriced here. I'm sorry - they've lost me. You can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. read more

When I noticed my car was pulling I took it to High tech automotive and asked them to check inner tie rods/ball joints. I was told by high tech that everything was fine except I need an alignment, struts and rear brakes. I had high tech do an alignment as I can change brakes myself and told them I would be back at a later date to do the struts. A month late my ball joint fell out. I was told by a different garage that the damage from my ball joint popping out broke my outer right axle, inner axle, right control arm and right strut. I was also told that my left ball joint is so bad that it is on the verge of falling out, but that my left strut is fine. When I told high tech about what happened and that they must of missed it, they accused me of hitting a pot hole. I could not of possibly hit a pot hole so large it damages both my ball joints. Their poor work ethic put my life and my children's life at risk. I do a lot of highway driving, had I been on the highway my car could have rolled. I will never be back and will make sure everyone I know will never go to them. read more

I have been a customer at High Tech Auto for several years and feel that they have a good way of relating to and helping customers. Their new building (right in front of their old one, closer to 123) has more bays which helps them to get more customers in and out as quickly as they can, as well as having a much more spacious and comfortable waiting area for customers with a play area for kids, TV, and good magazine variety (including In Style...garages never have women's mags!!). I have gone in for reasons as typical as my annual car inspection or oil changes and am usually able to call and make a same day appointment toward the end of their business hours. They noticed problems with two of my tires on a recent routine care visit and Adrian, who used to man the front desk, was extremely helpful in providing recommendations for new tires based on my needs and finding a new appointment time that would work within my crazy schedule for their installation. A few times I have just stopped in for a quick check up when my low tire pressure light had come on, and they could always squeeze me in, even if it meant that they stayed a bit past their closing hours. On those occasions, I also saw them do that for other customers in need of a quick expert eye or appraisal. I believe that they really care about the safety and schedule constraints of their customers, and I have certainly found the employees at High Tech Auto to be knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. read more

In the past this place was pretty good, but it looks like those days are gone. a re-do on one job,an alignment done incorrectly,tool left under hood, lug nuts way over torqued(had to use two foot breaker bar to untighten).plastic splash guards missing fasteners.Very sloppy work,maybe that was just one guy but it reflects on the whole place. My grandson lives in the Norton area and brought his 2007 car to another place (won't name) for service because it overheated. He was told it was the water pump. Replaced it along with the thermostat. Overheated again within a few miles and went back. This time they told him it was the radiator connectors. Replaced them. A few days later, same problem, overheated. He went to another place not in Norton and was told it was the radiator. Replaced it. Within a few days it overheated with smoke and sludge. High Tech Auto was recommended. He got the car there and found out he had a cracked engine. Charbeo talked with him and me by phone because I live across the country, giving us a lot of information on options. He was patient explaining every detail. First he checked on cost of replacement gave a couple of options. He was honest about the year and most important the high mileage of the car and potential problems we could have with other components given that it has over 200,000 miles. No guarantee that the transmission won't go next. He could have steered us towards a replacement if all he cared about was the money like the other two places, but Instead he wanted us to take our time and think about it. We talked on the phone a few times and he never rushed us to a decision. He was patient and honest. We made the decision to not replace it and he was gracious with us. He told me that when my grandson gets another car to tell him to test drive it and bring it by and they will look it over for him. This is the kind of service you got in the old days. Men who know cars, and care about customers. They could have given recommendations to my grandson like the other places and just took the money. Instead they gave us the facts. My daughter recently broke down on I-95 North, and AAA recommended this shop for reliable, emergency repairs. I am a long time auto parts manager, so I am very familiar with the ins and outs of the business. Steve gladly accepted my call, and said he could get the car repaired in 24 hours. He also listened very carefully about what I had to say concerning the breakdown, and directed his technician, Mike, to look at the fuel system, as the description was the car, with a half a tank of gas, seemingly just ran out of gas. Sure enough, they verified that the fuel pump had quit, They located the part, and charged a reasonable amount for the parts and labor, completing the repair in just one day. My daughter drove 200 miles that evening, and said her car hadn't run that well in months. It was a little out of the way, but the value, and quality of workmanship was well worth the drive. read more

Been going here for years with no problem. They needed to replace my front right arm control($425). After a few days with the repair I took a turn lost complete control of my car on the right, swiped the curb, and coincidentally the right tire blew (which is less than a year old). The point of getting this repair was so that I would not lose control taking a turn. I called immediately and asked if I could bring it in and get it looked at because something felt very wrong. Steve said "Arm controls are easy to install, we would not have done it wrong". Well, someone did and it put me in a dangerous situation. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. On my way to work, my car overheated, I searched for the nearest apuro repair place near me which led me to High Tech Automotive. I walked in and waited 10 minutes for the individual at the front desk to get off the phone, when he was finished, I began to explain that my car had overheated and if they could assist me, then I inquired how long the wait would be due to not having anyone to pick me up and to plan in case it would be something that might take all day and explained I have a little one to pick up, hence my wanting to have a time estimate. He answered in a rude, I don't care manner stating "I can't tell you anything, the guys well have to look at it and see what they find." I responded ok, how soon can someone take a look at my vehicle, he did not replied and assisted two other individuals as if I was not even standing there waiting for his response and assistance. I proceeded to sit down hoping he'd get back to me, 20 minutes later, I got tired of being treated as if I was painted on the wall and drove away. I ended up going to another place in Attleboro, who's personnel greeted me warmly and respectfully and attended me in a professional manner; 20 minutes later my car issue was fixed at a very reasonable price. I've been taking my vehicle here for a few years. I first switched to them when my dog damaged the third row center seatbelt. It's an odd seatbelt and was took a while for Steve to find a used one, but the final cost was hundreds less than what the dealer quoted me. Since then High Tech has been doing a good job servicing my vehicle. I also recently brought in my husband's vehicle for emergency new tires and they took us quickly. They also helped us to remove the rusted on old plates from my daughter's newly purchased used car which took the mechanic a half hour and he kindly only charged me $10 for his efforts. I also like that their location is so accessible which is so much nicer when you are driving back and forth to drop-off/pick-up vehicles. read more

Found this place on tire rack as a recommended installer. I called and made an appointment to have my winter wheels put on. Tires were already mounted and balanced so all they needed to do was swap the rims. Showed up 8am. Place was nice and clean. Hit at front desk was very nice. So far so good. They do the swap right away. Awesome. Then I go to get the bill. $60! I have been having wheel swaps done for years at a bunch of different places and I have never seen a price this high. Shame on me for not checking the price beforehand but this was ridiculous. At every shop I've been to, it's never more than $20. Seems like a decent place but definitely get a quote before you have them do any work. read more

Awful customer service!!! I would have given them a lot of my business, but they just don't care to make car repair and inspections a relaxed process. Before getting my truck inspected I was under the impression from corporate that since my truck is 14 years old there is more leniency on emissions. I explained this to the mechanics before agreeing to the inspection and they confirmed this information and moved me along to get the inspection done. So my truck did not pass because of emissions, which they told me after the inspection it has to be 15 years old! So they screwed me 40 bucks for the inspection I wouldn't have gotten if I knew it was 15 instead of 14 years! I will not be returning here for anything, ever again. Do not try and get an inspection sticker here.. My son took his car there and they told him he was all set. He later realized that they put an R sticker on it without even telling him.. The just said "your all set" and gave him his keys. Claims he had had lighting issues (which he did not). Found out from other people that had gone there that it was common practice and then the hit you up for unneeded repairs. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. read more

They play the game of searching with a magnifying glass for a rejection worthy problem so they can extort you into getting it repaired by surprise surprise!....them .Call me disgruntled if you like but tell me folks...How many of you have gotten a red rejection (which means you not only need the repair within 10 days but because it's a safety issue, are not legally able to even DRIVE IT until the repair is done!) So... guess what the wizards over there got me for....Your thinking, my bumper must have been hanging off from a serious accident...or maybe my windshield was smashed? Well...l sorry to say it was MUCH worse. I had a FRAYED SEAT BELT. Yes my internet compadres trying not to get screwed.....a frayed seat belt. I admit the edge was frayed for about 6 inches of the length and about 1/4 inch into the entire width.Oh and when I was told this by the service manager or whoever the person was.I said "So your rejecting me?" He says...and I quote...""No....the STATE is rejecting you." I guess that is supposed to absorb them of any bad feelings they might have about themselves....I guess you have to have some sort of coping mechanism when you practice such sleazy business practices.My review is complete...Oh.... by the way do you think they'll be doing the seat belt job on my car? We recently moved into the area and I wanted to try High Tech Automotive as my "preferred" tire installer since they carry the Hunter Roadforce 9700 tire balancer that does the best job at balancing tires. The front service person was very pleasant and the overall facility looked pretty good. Unfortunately, my 18" wheels were scratched along the outside rim due to the tire installation machine. The scratch is not on the "face" of the wheel, but you can definitely see it as the paint is scraped off on the lip of the wheel and runs along the diameter. Also, the wheel on the inside now has "divots" from where the tire machine grabs at the wheel during tire installation. These aren't "inexpensive" wheels. I attribute these mistakes to the actual installer. The balancing of the tires were perfect otherwise. Since I typically enter my cars into concours, this is unacceptable to me. But if you typically don't care about these, then this shop will be fine for you. read more
