Unsure if it's the owner or manager, but the lady is charge ruins the entire experience. I listened to her berate one table then talk to another table about things for them to do in Key Largo. Even though she was helping them, she just seemed to be yelling at them. The Great: Key Lime Pie- best found The Good - ... The Bad - Cold Grits on both of our plates The Ugly - The lady in charge My party would like to go back for the Key Lime Pie. I wouldn't give this establishment 1 more penny.

I have found my breakfast spot in High Tide! Their breakfast offerings are extensive! They have daily omelet specials. They various benedikts. They have to-die-for freshly baked, gigantic, muffins. They have corned beef hash. They have country fried steak smothered in gravy. I almost forgot they have pancakes & waffles! You can get a coffee or iced tea refill to take along. I definitely never leave here hungry! Service is attentive, friendly and super efficient. Everyone likes chatting it up, regardless if you are local or just visiting. The restaurant is small inside. I nearly always sit at the counter when I am solo. They have a couple tables outside to accommodate those who smoke or who have dogs. There is plenty of paved parking in front and an additional gravel lot in the back. My highest recommendation for a great breakfast!

I am giving 4 well meant stars. The staff was nice and attentive. The food we had was good and in an acceptable price range. Unfortunately they do not have vegetarian dishes, so we had to go for french fries and a salad. French fries were delicious and the salad gravy was also very tasty. The blue cheese burger was more like okish. Would I come again. If there will be vegetarian dishes in the future, probably yes.

We stopped in on the way to Key West. Place has a nice vibe. Most of the staff were friendly. Our party came to the conclusion that our waitress was new. She wasn't as friendly as the other waitresses who stoped by and made many errors when taking our orders. My husband really enjoyed his lobster sandwich. The couple I was with enjoyed their food, especially the biscuits, but said their grits were cold and lacked flavor. I ordered a medium rare steak and over medium eggs. The steak came out well and eggs scrambled. Try 2 with the eggs were better, but still had runny white. I sent the steak back, and chose not to try it again. We believe our waitress didn't communicate what took place well to the manager (I'm assuming that was who came to our table afterwards). I'm saying that because the manager was aggressive and almost confrontational when she came to the table. She was escalating and seemed like she was ready for a fight when all I was doing was changing my order to two eggs. She was speaking very loudly and I felt like making a scene. It was very uncomfortable. She did take the steak off the ticket and was friendly afterwards. We indulged in the key lime pie, and we've tried many key lime pies, and I would say that it was close to being the best we've had. It was very tart and you knew eating it , that it was homemade. It's unfortunate that the previous hostile interaction left us all wondering what the heck just happened here.

It was cold this morning - Florida cold, not Maine cold but we weren't ready so decided to go out for breakfast. I had seen High Tide a couple of times, and decided to give it a shot. It was soooo good. I know anyone who follows me will be surprised that I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict; and other than a bit too much hollandaise it was perfect - eggs done just right, ham was the right thickness and the English muffin was grilled. The home fries with onions were done perfectly - some of them came home for breakfast tomorrow. Wayne opted for the Chef's Omelette and the hash brown cheese casserole. They were both super decadent as was the grilled biscuit. The Chef's Omelette was full of chorizo, cheese, onion, peppers, mushrooms, kind of a kitchen sink. The casserole was an up charge but well worth it. Coffee was almost medicinal - it was so good and so necessary! Would love to go back and try the Key Lime pie. Our server was quick, awesome. The place felt like eating at home - but we didn't have to do the work....

Came here because of reviews and skillets! My fave breakfast! I was not disappointed with my veggie subbed with cheddar instead of American cheese. Loads of veggies! Husband's fiesta had a lot of chorizo. And you get biscuits on the side. We sat outside in back to avoid traffic noise. Very enjoyable brunch!

Exceptional place. We went after church one Sunday morning and it was already pretty full but we managed to get seating right away. FOOD: Delicious and big portions. I got an omelette with lobster and a hollandaise sauce with roasted potato chunks and onions and it was very delicious. I was impressed by the omelette because it wasn't just sporadic chunks of lobster, no, it was almost evenly distributed. I had lobster in every bite. My husband finished his food while I was halfway through mine. I've never seen him eat his food so fast. He said it was delicious. He had café con leche and although I didn't drink any, it looked so calming and the aroma was deliciously pleasant. I had this biscuits that were soft and fluffy, I've never experience that before. They had 4 different types of jam and I chose one that I've never seen before and that was apple flavored jam. It's safe to say that I got my unrecommended daily dose of sugar. Good stuff. My only complaint is that they don't have freshly squeezed orange juice, only from containers but everything else was so incredible that I'll let it pass. DECOR: It's the Keys so nothing is beautiful indoors only the outdoors lol. My husband said it had a diners vibe but I'm not too sure. It was nice though, nothing tacky, nothing rusted. They had a table outdoors next to a garbage can with a tent over it but that seem like an afterthought that was only done for people with dogs. And when we drove up there was a couple with a dog there. It was kinda isolated so I don't the attention and service would be great there, but if you have a dog and want to get a great meal then that's a great option. SERVICE: Service was good, there's definitely a sense of urgency which is very important to me. CONCLUSION: Definitely go here. Great food and portions were large. You'll leave here very satisfied. My husband that's from Chicago and avoids the sun and heat, really enjoyed the whole experience. He now says that this is his new identity! Thank you High Tide for doing what I couldn't! Lol

We found this place while staying at a nearby campground, it was an easy choice after reading a number of the reviews. We arrived during a torrential rainstorm, the parking is small but there is additional parking across the side street most of the parking spaces close to the restaurant were inundated with standing water (ankle deep) like a lot of the property in the Keys it floods rather easily and not water you want to walk through. Once inside it was so inviting, we were seated immediately and greeted by a number of the staff. It was clear that this is a place where the locals frequent which I love, definitely a great sign. Although our server arrived after a few minutes it's oblivious the entire staff does whatever is required to ensure their guest are happy. We started lunch with a cup of lobster bisque, it was different from any I've eaten before but delicious and I highly recommend it (looked like a great clam chowder but filled with lobster). We both ordered grouper sandwiches one blackened and one fried there's a ($3.00) up charge over the mahi mahi which is their default fish sandwich and so worth it - unfortunately both sandwiches arrived blackened which was caught by a server before the second one touched the table and she assured me they would corrected it in short order and were successful in doing that. Both grouper sandwiches were delicious, the bread was a little heavy for my liking so I dug most of it out to get thinned down so it wouldn't overpower this wonderful fish, it's served with lettuce, tomato and red onion with a side of tartar sauce and a pickle spear - I also got a side of slaw it was just okay being it was the mayonnaise version. The prices are reasonable even with the up charge for premium fish and the service was outstanding, the kitchen blooper was not a deal breaker but the flooding would keep me away if it's raining... read more

It was a quiet Tuesday night so we were able to be seated quickly and our server was pleasant and let us know the specials. My coworker got the grouper special and I got the broiled meal of scallops, shrimp, fish, and lobster tail. The portion sizes are perfect and prices comparable(if not cheaper) than similar restaurants nearby. There is amble parking to the west of the building and surprisingly lots of seating inside. This place is one of our favorites for any of our meals. read more

Embarrassing appetizer of potato skins!. This place has always been known for good food and good portions and after 20 years of me going there, I'm shocked that they would even serve this and charge $10 for it. If this potato lucky, it might have been a 10 ounce potato. Splitting it into four pieces does not make it a larger meal. read more

We went to High Tide for dinner, on our second day vacationing in Florida. High Tide Restaurant seems like a typical Ma and Pop café, with extra fish & seafood. It's a cozy place, with wonderful staff, and everything on the menu is made with fresh ingredients. We were seated immediately and the tables were actually clean! High Tide is a little misleading, though. For one, they don't list the prices for their menu items online. The breading for their Jalapeno chicken had no spice whatsoever, and the chicken itself was thin and slimy! YUCK! Mom liked their lobster bisque, but it made her sick all night long! Maybe their breakfast and fresh, baked muffins will be better. read more

Did a quick Yelp search and decided to stop here on our way to Miami from Key West. Little diner right off of the overseas highway. The place was clean and everyone was so nice! Man, the customer service everywhere should be this good! We were able to sit wherever we wanted and the servers came by frequently to check on us. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito with home fries and onions. He loved it! Huge portion and it tasted wonderful. I got the lobster Benedict. Nice big chunks of lobster with perfectly cooked eggs and a delicious hollandaise. I got the hashbrown casserole with mine and it was cheesy and delicious. I'd come back here in a heartbeat. read more

My husband and I came here for breakfast during our weekend vacation in Key Largo. The service was great and the staff members were friendly. We were seated right away. The casual diner ambiance was really nice. I ordered the southern Benedict's with hash brown which was really good and filling. My husband ordered the eggs with sausage. Wow! This place is exceptional! We were so tired from sitting in traffic and this was just the ticket for making it worth it! The servers were exceptionally friendly and super helpful! We had the shrimp basket, the seafood combo and the grilled cheese, all were very good! If you go, don't skip the world famous muffins, they are over the top delicious! We loved this place! This little roadside restaurant is a gem. The menu offers up a variety of creative dishes and the service was personal and friendly. We ordered the "gas-which" - odd name but delicious. It was a lobster patty topped with a special sauce and fresh veg. We also ordered the key lime pasta which was really well done with perfectly cooked seafood and a sauce highlighted with lime and butter. The vibe is super casual and our server was awesome - she gave me a local paper to read while waiting and pointed me to the "funny pages". Bottom line - a charming place, great people and really good food. read more

Everything was so good. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was delightful. I definitely recommend. The only thing is the hash browns could have been a little more crispy but i didn't mind much. We got calamari and that was excellent, it was breaded and perfectly crispy so you need to get it. Our waitress was so sweet and the service was good too. read more

I am so glad I had.this unassuming restaurant bookmarked! We stopped in for a late lunch after snorkeling. Ordered the key lime sandwich (with grouper) and the Port au Prince sandwich (with mahi). Both were excellent! The mango chutney for the P.auP. sandwich was perfect. They will sub out fries for any other side. We both chose onion rings...some of the best we have ever had! We got dessert too. Hub had key lime pie (good!), I had key lime cheesecake. Ermahgerd! So incredible (see photo)!! I am going to dream about that cheesecake, until the next time we visit Key Largo! The friendly waitress even offered.to give us "go" cups for our drink refills. Just an amazing place, highly recommend! read more

Would give TEN stars - if possible! On our last day in Key Largo, FL we found this restaurant- so sorry we didn't find you earlier in our time there. We had breakfast and ordered the following: Country fried steak Two eggs over corn beef hash Blueberry pancakes (recommended by our server, Alexis) Cowboy skillet Fish (fried mahi) & Grits Also ordered home made biscuits. First off, the service from walking in, to being seated, to getting drinks, ordering and being server the employees all work flawlessly with each other. They all assist each others throughout the guest stay!! Everyone is attentive and efficient. The owner and chefs should be extremely proud of their team - stellar and Michelin star worthy!!!! The food is next: The homemade biscuits are "to die for" don't miss out, they're crumbly and they quickly throw them onto the griddle. Next they have butter and pure honey to complete that "Heaven in your mouth " experience. Okay we made past the biscuits and the server recommended pancakes and we went for blueberry. Probably the best I have had to go along with the homemade biscuits. Also, best corned beef hash with over easy eggs cooked to perfection. Now let's talk about the hash brown casserole. OMG don't leave here without trying!! The sausage gravy and biscuits would make your Momma HAPPY!! FRESH Mahi Mahi with the grits ( I'm sure came from the docks that morning or night before) were excellent. The country fried steak was perfection. Seasoned perfectly as well as being cooked just as ordered. Don't pass up the SWEET Tea or UNSWEETENED Tea IT's HOMEMADE!!! Finally on the recommendation of our server the KEY LIME Pie is the best in the KEYS according to her significant other. Well let me tell you BEST Key Lime Pie I have EVER Eaten (totally bought a whole frozen one for home)!!!! I have consumed a lot of Key Lime pie and no others can compare!! When you come to the Keys - don't miss this place - you'd be foolish. Can't wait to come back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! read more

The type of restaurant that doesn't appear to be much on the outside (possibly even a dive), but proves to offer a great dining experience inside. Our portions were generous and delicious! We shared the Tuna Sesame Seared appetizer which was delicious and plenty for two people; not to mention the wasabi was of high quality and hot! Be sure to have your water ready. My wife enjoyed her Fish Mediterranean which came with the assurance of being gluten free. I had the stuffed fish (chose the Mahi Mahi from among three options offered), and it was perfectly baked. We each opted for a loaded baked potato as one of our two included sides; both were served slightly hard for our liking (we normally prefer a softer, creamier potato), but it was still quite good with enough butter. When traveling through Key Largo, put High Tide restaurant on your list for a delicious dinner or any meal. This is the type of establishment which leaves you confident that everything listed on the menu is going to be great! read more

I'm liberal with my 5 stars but this is truly the most deserved one I've given. I'd do 6 if I could. Our order: Club Sandwich with Fries ($15.50) Key Lime Fish Sandwich ($21) Side of Hashbrown Casserole ($4) Sweet Tea ($3) Hot Coffee ($2.50) Seated Immediately. Wait for food after ordering was 20-30 mins on a busy day. Everything was delicious and I don't even think their specialty is lunch. Can't wait to come back and try breakfast here. read more

We dined here multiple times during our recent stay. All the staff were super friendly and attentive. They have an extensive breakfast menu. We enjoyed the pancakes, skillet breakfast, and omelette. The mimosas were so good with just that right splash of orange juice. For dinner we enjoyed the broiled seafood platter. There was so much food and all of it was fresh and tasty. The portion was so large we were lucky to have shared the entree. To complete our dinner we had the fabulous homemade key lime pie. We highly recommend and look forward to dining here next time we are in town. read more

Having been here twice now, I can definitively say I am a fan of High Tide! I first came here for breakfast back in May, and just came here for dinner this past weekend. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming here. They have lots of options for breakfast including healthier options which I appreciated. Get the hash brown casserole! The seasoning is beyond good. This past weekend we came here for dinner since we weren't that hungry but still wanted to eat something. I got a cup of chili and the potato skins. The chili was full of flavor and meat! It was very filling despite it being only one cup. The potato skins were awesome too. Full of bacon and cheese. Bonus, get the freshly baked muffins! We came here Sunday before leaving to take some muffins back home. The flavors change daily but you really can't go wrong with any of them. read more

We found this restaurant a few months ago and it became our favorite breakfast place in the keys. The owner Kathy is very engaged in her business and makes you feel like family the moment you walk in the door. The food is delicious and the staff is amazing. That was kind of the energy we had going into it, just looking for the experience. I also picked up some white chocolate covered cherries but we haven't gotten to those yet. We'll report back on those. Overall it was pretty good for what it is. If you're a key lime fan I think you'll really enjoy it. For people like us who take it or leave it, it was still a solid choice and I'm glad we tried it. My wife felt the same way.
