Such a disappointing overall experience. Staff friendly but seemed understaffed and overwhelmed as our waiter was also the main bartender and trying to do too many things at once. Had a variety of wait staff wait on us so was not sure who our main person was to request anything. Served very warm tepid water in our water glasses and had to ask for ice for the water multiple times before receiving. Room was unseasonably warm, but I know the weather was 10° above normal. Consideration as to opening a window for a cross breeze would've been nice. Cocktails were good and served in a timely manner. Food arrived at our table within five minutes of ordering, which made us feel like they were trying to hurry us through dinner. Food was good, but not great. Nobody came to refill water, check on us to see if we needed anything else and had to walk to the bar to get our check. Again, staff was very courteous, just not present. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and not one of those knock-you-over-the-head strong drinks. Dangerous in the best way because you could easily have another... and another. The vibe? Nice place to grab a bite to eat and a cocktail in Park City. We stopped by for lunch during the week and it wasn't very busy. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks. I tried the Cabin Fever cocktail which was very good. My partner and I both got the burger, which was huge and came with a large side of fries. We could have easily split one. The burger was tasty as well. Service was friendly although pretty slow. Since it wasn't very busy yet, we found that a bit odd. That was the only downside. Wagyu pastrami poutine - very low on the meat. The rest of the fries are well fried, sauced and poutine like but again not a lot of meat and all quite small pieces. Not the best. Elk meatballs and grits - alright meat to grits ratio. The meatballs are well cooked and flavorful with the game-ness. The grits had good consistency and cheesiness. Went really well with the slices of pepper they had. Favorite of the appetizers. Trout dip - classic sour cream type dip. Nothing too special but was good. The servers were very personable and attentive. The space has a nice ambiance that matches the Utah ski town vibe. They also have fires outside and a bar to keep you warm while you wait. The food is great and well priced. The drinks are excellent too. Solid service. We came once around 5pm on the Monday of Presidents' Day week and got a table for 4 easily. The second time we came we arrived around 2:30pm on the Thursday of that week and easily got a table for 4 again. We skied down from the slopes, walked down the stairs, and were there. This is still one of my favorite places to eat in Park City. It became a ritual for me to have dinner at High West Saloon one night of my ski trip. The only cons of this place is that they don't take reservations so usually you're looking at a 30-1.5 hour wait on the weekends. We usually put our names on the waitlist and go get some pre dinner drinks nearby. The menu has changed quite a bit from when I first discovered the place a couple of years ago but the quality of the food stays consistent. This time I got the bison dip and the wagyu pastrami poutine to share. Both dishes were delicious as well as the seasonal cocktails we ordered. The service was also top tier as the staff was attentive with refilling the water and providing us with extra sauces for our leftovers. Overall another great experience. read more

Fun experience! Ambiance wise a 5/5. I love the indoor set up and outdoor seating area. Service was a 4/5. Our server seemed to keep disappearing and we had to ask where he went several times. The food was a 3/5. And the drinks might be between down to a 3 or if I stuck with what they distilled, on the rocks, it would have been a 5. I shouldn't have been swooned by their cocktails. Cocktails were way - too - sweet. Even for someone like me who loves a sweet cocktail, these weren't that well balanced. Food: Elk meatballs: 5/5. Had flavor. Wasn't crazy about all the toppings they threw on it but wasn't mad about it either. Mac and cheese: 5/5. One of the best things we ordered. Flavor was good. Super cheesy but at the same time, not heavy. Deviled eggs: 4/5. Fresh and simple but it had too much of something that I can't quite put my finger on. Shishito peppers: 3/5 - that was interesting. Never had a breaded deep fried shishito pepper before and the roasted ones were not roasted enough. Ribs: 1/5 - worst thing we ordered . If you're a bbq connoisseur, don't get their ribs. Dry, no bbq flavor except for the bbq sauce.. not sure that bean slaw works with bbq.... Chocolate cake: 5:5 - best thing we got. Warm. Dense but not heavy. Lunch on a weekday is definitely the way to avoid lines at High West which doesn't take reservations. Note: this is a bar and you can NOT entire unless you are 21+ and you must have your ID with you! Our waiter was quick to come back and was constantly refilling our waters which we happened to be drinking quickly. It might've helped that we were the only table in his sections. But that can be hit or miss in attentiveness. My husband and I enjoy splitting food because you get to try more things. We got the pretzel appetizer, soup of the day which was a vegetable beef with rice, and the schnitzel. All were very tasty! The pretzel was smaller than expected but the menu did say you could order a second pretzel for $5. The schnitzel was bigger than expected and is definitely shareable depending on appetite! I love the look of these refurbished old buildings! The inside is just as cool as the look on the outside. Inside is a tad dark, very saloon-y. I stumbled across High West Saloon, well visiting the area. I had no idea this is where they were based. I was looking for a public restroom when I ventured into a hotel that explicitly forbade no guests from using the restrooms. I went outside and looked right and thought, that place will have a restroom, and maybe I will get a drink, too. And then I happen to pond one of the distillery restaurants related to a favorite American whiskey. Yay me! I only stayed for one drink because I had somewhere I needed to be, but the service was excellent, the ambience was super cool, and the whiskey was delicious. What more can you ask for? I did not get a chance to sample the food, but I suspect it would be very good as well. I hope I get to come back someday! read more

I understand that this is a must see, Park City experience. It's the 1st legal distillery in Utah from 1870. It was hidden behind the ski lifts, we are 7,000 ft up. It appeared to be a distillery with our drivers licenses scanned before we entered. Outside tables were hot, there was a whisky tasting room, huge distillery & small rooms. We were seated in the main dining room. My High West lemonade with Double Rye and House spice lemonade was excellent, it had a nice kick. I ordered an Utah elk meatball appetizer with bean cassoulet & lemon gremolat while my husband ordered a burger. My son picked this place for our mid afternoon meal. He wanted to see if there are special edition of High West whiskey that he couldn't get elsewhere. We ended up not drinking with our meal a d just bought a bottle afterwards. The menu is expansive with cocktails appetizers, salads and soups and entrees. We decided on two appetizers and the fondue. That was a lot of food! The appetizers - we got the shishito peppers it came with 2 styles, one is pan fried with spices, another one was battered, with 2 different sauces, both the peppers and the sauces are delicious and we got the elk meatball shakshuka that is also very good. It is by far my favorite brand even over jack Daniels and others depending on blend. The best I have had a bottle of was their boureye. Amazing!!!brought back 2 cases in 2022 and gone within a month with friend who wanted to try. I just finally went to their whiskey tour in wanship and this is a great adventure. Not easy to get to but worth the trip. At end of awesome tour was allowed to taste their newer flavors including boureye and at its price point is still my favorite. I'm a little late in posting this review as we were here in late March , however, I want to make sure I review our experience at High West Saloon. We came across High West walking down the street simply looking for a place to have a cocktail after a long day of skiing. When you walk up to the hostess stand, they ask for your drivers license and we also asked if they take reservations for dinner. We were informed no reservations and it is a first come first serve basis m. The place looked crowded so we asked if we could just go to the bar. We quickly learned there are several small bars in the establishment which is great. One of the hosts quickly whisked us up and over to one of the bars where we were lucky enough to grab two seats. Correna happened to be are main bartender and she was very friendly and attentive. As we don't drink Bourbon or Whiskey regularly, she was great about educating us on the distilling and aging process and unique drinks available. We started out with the High West 101 Flight for $20 which I thought was very reasonable. Delicious! We then ordered an Old Fashion and a warm cocktail called The Witness Elixir which were delicious as well. We watched the severs pass us with some interesting looking dishes so we had no choice but to stay for dinner. We split the Pork Schnitzel served with spatzle and a salad. The schnitzel was served thicker than most schnitzel I've had before but I loved it. The crust was super crunchy, the pork was very tender and the mushroom gravy was just delicious. We also ordered the burger, medium rare. It came with fries. The burger came out medium instead of medium rare but was very juicy and flavorful. The fries were crunchy and salted perfectly. Very good. We really enjoyed High West Saloon and will definitely be back next time we are in town. read more

Cool old tavern set in downtown park city. I'd heard great things about the food, especially the burger. We ordered the wings, which were served with homemade ranch with mint and lemongrass. The wings were great. I tried the burger. It comes with bacon jam and fresh pickles, cheese. The burger came out well done, even though I had requested it to be medium. If you like Bourbon, you must try this place! I have been coming here for several years! It's a great place to try their different types of Bourbons they distill. They have a couple bar areas and they also have tables to enjoy some great food with your Bourbon. They do have a store right when you walk in to purchase some of the bourbons, if you are lucky you may be able to purchase a special release bottle to take home! I was able to purchase a new release The Noble Share - Casa Noble x High West, if you are Tequila connoisseur this is a must have! Very Good! Also picked up their A Midwinter Night's Dram also very good! The one a tasted there that I really wanted to purchase was The Prisoner's Share but it sounded like they wanted to share with the Sundance Celebrities. They didn't know who I was... Bummer.... We so enjoy our yearly lunch at High West! The drive up the hill is so beautiful, and we had our usual driver, Mr. Tom, letting us know information about the property. We made reservations and sat on the patio. Jay was our server and he was friendly and helpful. We shared the wings and Bison French dip. The wings came with two sauces (bbq and blue cheese). The wings had a lot of meat and a nice grilled flavor. The Bison French dip was so delicious! My son had the Deadman's Boots and he enjoyed it! We ended up sitting at the bar on a high table which is perfect because it was close to the door and you can feel the breeze. The fried wild mushroom is one of the best I've had in Utah. Some of the skinny ones were extra crispy while a few were "meaty." Thoroughly enjoyed it with their aioli sauce. The whiskey flight was fun. Either Utah laws, they can only serve a couple of glasses at a time. Still my favorite is the campfire because I love the smokiness flavor. The double rye was really strong. This place has an Old West saloon vibe. I arrived around 9:00 and was promptly seated. Most of the crowd was gone by that time. I sat inside, but the patio was pretty full. The waitress had some great recommendations. All the food on the menu sounded good, but I went with the burger and mac & cheese. It was delicious. The mac could have been a meal on its own. Definitely enough to share. For dessert I got the Bourbon pecan pie. My only complaint was it was a small piece. Recommend this place if you are in PC. read more
