I asked ALL of my different doctors (GP, endocrine, bariatric, etc...) and without fail, they all said that Dr. Shalvoy was *THE* guy in Rhode Island, and in TWO cases had performed procedures on the knees of my doctors! Why not go where the professionals go? I presented myself around the same time as Bethany, and yes the walk to the office was hard for a guy who couldn't walk. Dr. Shalvoy is the Chief of Orthopedics for Care New England, and was trying to see patients close to the hospital setting, but as Memorial was closing wings he was getting bounced around. Their subsequent spaces have been much more eye appealing, and 2 years after my replacements I am doing fantastic. I can't say enough about Dr. Shalvoy and his PA Richard Peloquin and Jessica Morse, and the support staff is great. They literally gave me my life back. I went from walker/wheelchair to doing 5K's. Now my husband and daughter go there as well. Office staff is very friendly & helpful. The assistant at the front desk, Elise, goes above & beyond for their patients. seems to know everybody by name, too. I've walked in on more than one occasion to pay a bill without an appointment & she always knows exactly who I am & why am there. Another great example of service is the time my orthotics needed to be adjusted. The office sent them to a company to make the adjustments & they lost them! Elise sprang to action & contacted the company who made the original impressions, had them rush order a new pair, then arranged for a new company to make the adjustments & expedited them. AND, had them overnight them to the office once they were ready so I wouldn't have to wait any longer than necessary. To boot, the office didn't charge me for the new orthotics OR the adjustments due to the inconvenience & amount of time it took to get them back. Classy act. I can't speak for any of the other doctors in the practice, but Dr. Mallette is wonderful. He really listens to your concerns & genuinely makes an effort to resolve your issues. The waiting room is really tiny, but I haven't found it to be an issue as they do a good job of not overbooking. Office is very clean. The only issue I ever encounter is occasionally not being able to reach anybody when I call. Not that I'm complaining, because they do call you back quickly. Just mentioning it so people don't get discouraged if it happens to them. Definitely recommend you give them a try if you're in need!

Dr. Ackerman was nice, knowledgable, and efficient. A resident/fellow sees you first, and then reviews notes with the doctor who subsequently sees you briefly to discuss the treatment plan. One star off because they seem to always be running a little behind schedule, but overall a good experience and good medical care. Casting is quick and painless, and the technicians are friendly and make you feel comfortable. They validate parking - $2 cash only. If you're a Brown student/staff/faculty, take the university shuttle to RIH and just avoid parking altogether. The garage spaces are limited, and it can be a headache. In the waiting room, there's a picture signed by Stephen Gostkowski to keep you entertained.

The Therapists and assistants are so welcoming and make you feel at ease which is so important for first- time clients. They explain what they are about to do and really give you time to relax during your exercises. Even when they get busy, they still make you feel so good- almost a "spa" like experience. The place is clean, warm, bright, and comfy. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I really look forward to going to therapy and feel uplifted when I leave. The staff really helps people feel better, not just physically, but emotionally as well. I would definitely continue to recommend Pappas in North Prov for PT/Rehab!
