This is a steak house, so I will jump straight to the steak bit.....oh, it was good, it was reeeaaally good. Beautifully cooked, all 3 of the different cuts we had, and wonderfully garnished. Served on what looked like a large bread-board and accompanied with chips in a miniature tin bucket. But let's face it, it's not about the chips in a bucket, it's about the steak, and it was good....did I mention that already? As for the restaurant itself, is beautifully decorated, a nice, clean bar area and genuinely looked very nice. The day we went was really quiet, except for a party of about 20/25 people in a corner having some kind of celebration. It was them, and 2 other tables (including us), and they were really noisy, so I could only imagine how noisy it would be when/if full. Nice time had by all though, and the steak was fantastic. Oh, and not overly pricey for quality cuts of meat, we'll be back.

I mention this because we have some amazing steak restaurants in SoCal. The restaurant had several families dining, and had a nice level of background chatter. Our chef took the time to come speak with us, recommend cuts of beef and generally go over our options. This was a lovely surprise as this rarely happens. We started with "fall off the bone" ribs and the Hallumi - (squeaky cheese - wish I could find this here in SoCal... if anyone reading this knows a place... please let me know!) We ordered rib eye steaks, I had the filet... with sides of creamed spinach/truffle fries and Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked to our liking, and the chef came back out to check on us. We actually ended up going back again just because the food and service were great. Look forward to visiting again! (Oooh... if you go, ask for their salts.. I liked the Merlot infused one)

The basement has a bar, lounge and restaurant. It was a little noisy. But we could still talk. The roasted scallops were cooked perfectly. The green sauce was tasty. I love the presentation. The Bill Marrow was also good. It was very rich. There were two kinds of Sunday roast a sirloin and a rump. Three of us had the rump roast dinner and three had the sirloin roast dinner. It was hard to tell the difference. All the dinners came with roasted potatoes greens and of course, Yorkshire pudding. It was all delicious. I have to say my favorite part is always the Yorkshire pudding. I also have a green salad, which is basically just lettuce with a light dressing. It was very fresh. We were too full for dessert. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and given water. In the UK, you can order sparkling, still or tap. Sparkling and still come with a charge. Tap is usually free. Our server was attentive without hovering. It's a good idea to make reservations at Hawksmoor especially for the Sunday roast. We got there at three by the time we left around 4:30 some of the roasts were already sold out. Just a note: Sunday roost is usually a late lunch not a dinner. It's good to go between two and four especially if you don't have a reservation.

And for the quality of food you get, I think this place is reasonably priced. The restaurant is not far from Old Street station and has a pub feel, but slightly more refined. The staff was really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. I highly recommend a reservation though as even when we came here on a Monday night, it was busy. I don't think you can go wrong with almost anything on the menu. Everything we had was delicious, and you can tell the chef's really know how and understand how to cook and flavor meat to perfection. The most surprising item though, is the White Chocolate Cheesecake. It is served out of a dish, tiramisu style, and is one of the best desserts I have had in a while. It was not too rich but so flavorful. So when you come here, make sure to save room for dessert!

This place was amazing probably the most incredible Sunday lunch I've ever seen. Meat piled high with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. It's eye popping and stunning what arrives at your table.
