Absolutely crazy to see happen at 3:55PM on a Saturday. The worker just kept screaming "I'll just re-enlist f*gg*t! You won't do sh*t!" All over some laundry! Somehow, over the years, I have accumulated enough "dry clean only" clothing to warrant a semi-regular trip to the cleaners. I am super nervous about shrinkage and tears, so there are only a handful of cleaners that I would trust with my clothing. Highland is at the top of the list. This location has a drive-through, which makes getting in and out a breeze despite being on Bardstown Road. Of course, convenience isn't the only factor: They are friendly, fast (sometimes less than 24 hours turnaround time), and reasonable. This is not to say they are cheap. My typical order of ~8 items consisting of mostly sweaters and one blazer usually comes to around $75, and you're looking at way more than that if you start adding dresses or suiting. But, I trust them, and given how infrequently I actually go to the cleaners, this cost fits my budget. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the staples and stickers that they attach to clothing tags. My least favorite part of dry cleaning is coming home and using my fingernails to peel stapled stickers off of my clothing tags. When something isn't stapled, it's stuck on with the force of a thousand glue guns - seriously, there are some clothing items of mine that will just have a perpetual Highland barcode attached because I'm not sure how to chemically remove these stickers. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a solid dry cleaner in the area. And if they ever get rid of these stickers and staples, I'm upgrading to five stars! read more

This location of Highland Cleaners is our go-to. We typically visit this location, as it's closest to our house, but I have been to their other Highlands location twice for alterations and dry cleaning as well, and the service I received there was great. This location is fantastic! The service is always super quick and friendly. Dropping off items is super easy, and they clearly tell you when your items will be ready. Picking up is always quick, you can walk in or even just drive up and they'll put your items into your car for you! And the prices are reasonable. If you're looking for a spot to take dry cleaning, this location of Highland Cleaners is the best! read more

Shannon at the Bardstown Rd location got me out of a big pickle this afternoon. I had a dress that was a huge wrinkly mess that needed steaming. As I was looking for the steamer around 2PM, it dawned on me that the steamer had blow up when I was in Italy. I called the store and Shannon said if I could get the dress to her store right away, she could squeeze it in. She was so nice about it and didn't even want to charge me. I came in to grab my clothes and robin refused to give me my clothes then proceeded to get smart with me and was very rude. I didn't appreciate her tone while speaking and how she handled the situation was very unprofessional. I would have a talk with her because it's unacceptable for her to think she's allowed to talk to customers the way she did. I just got my coat that i left there to be cleaned from coffee stains, and when they brought it out, i lt looked exactly the same Stains still on, and than they had decency to argue with me and to tell me that it was cleaned. Always fast and friendly. The staff always have a smile on. My shirts come back exactly starched the way I like them. I have had a few buttons smashed. I'm going to talk to them about that and hopefully they will repair them. UPDATE: I brought the buttons to their attention and they happily offered to replace them all and they did. Also, I would like to add, today I pulled up to the drive thru on Bardstown Rd. The employee, Lamecca, came to the door, saw who I was and turned and walked away. She promptly returned with my garments. She remembered me and addressed me as Mr. Armstrong. It certainly feels good to be remembered and called by name. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars. I enjoy going to Highland Cleaners. I have only been going regularly for a few months and if any issues arise I will update this review. The customer service has been great and I've had no issues with my clothes. That's pretty much all I need in a dry cleaner. That said, I know others may require more complex service and I don't have any opinions on that. I usually only drop off my button-ups (and occasionally suits). They starch and clean them, and I come back two days later to get them. They're usually 2.75-2.90 per shirt. I'm not sure how their pricing works but the price seems fair to me. I've never been inside, I just pull through the drive-through (by the way, that's the correct way to spell "drive-through"...take note fast food corporations! Haha). Very convenient locations on the main drag in the Highlands. Easy to access and love the drive through. My white items come out very nicely here as compared to other dry cleaners. They do a very professional job. The one request I would make is to offer one hour or same day service for last minute dry cleaning needs. I think of dry cleaning as an investment in my better clothes and I feel like I get a good value here. read more

I've gone through several cleaners in town over the years. For some reason I always thought Highland Cleaners was the worst, but I realized I had mistaken them for some other local place. I was glad when this new location opened in Cherokee triangle, because the main location near Taylorsville Road and Trevillian wasn't quite so convenient for me. The people working here are great. Very high priced and don't even do their services at this location. Upon walking in the door and without even a greeting they said we do not do laundry by the pound. Dropped off early Saturday morning and wasn't completed for pick up till 6:00 PM Monday. 13.75$ for a pair of jeans and they didn't get them clean? They charged extra for stains? Recommend asking for specific price quote. 7 pairs of dirty jeans and I got $2.00 and some change back from a crisp $100 bill. I asked for a receipt for my expenses and was told to use the ones stapled through my jeans. Yes stapled to my jeans! My Hotel charged me $63.00 the next week for 7 pairs of jeans 7 work shirts and 7 socks and underwear sets, and done in a day and they were squeaky clean and pressed. The cleaning is top-notch. I'm from NYC, and somehow all the dry cleaners I've gone to will invariably leave a wrinkle -somewhere-, or introduce a new stain. Not sure how that happens, but apparently it's a thing. My shirts here are always clean, and I've never seen a stray wrinkle. These guys are always on time. I drop my shirts off on Thursday and pick them up on Saturday. No excuses, and it's never failed me. My one and only complaint, and this is probably from my own experience in the city so nice they named it twice, is the lack of pickup and delivery. Almost every dry cleaner in New York has free pickup and delivery to your door, though this is probably because having a car there is a terrible idea. I have used this location 3 times since moving to Louisville because it is close to where I live. I have had no issues with my actual clothing - everything has come back fine. What I do have an issue with is the lady who works the drive-in in the mornings. She is not very nice. Not accommodating at all. Never smiled once. Made it seem like I was a burden to her with me even being there. I will be going to NuYale from now on. Customer service is everything and I received none. read more

Absolutely terrible. I dropped my wedding dress off in November of 2021 to get it cleaned and boxed. When I picked up the dress about a month later I drove home to find the box seal opened. None of my valuables were shown (shoes, earrings, etc.) The bottom of the dress was still completely black. I would have never known if the seal wasnt broken and I didn't take it back. It is now end of March 2022 and the dress still is not clean and boxed. I have now visited them approximately 10-15 times because they keep having me come in to view the dirty dress. I called today to pick it up and they said it was ready to go. I got there and they don't have it ready. I am so sick of visiting this place and the dress is still not ready. Manager has never been apologetic and makes excuses every time. This has been the most stressful part of the entire wedding process. Take your wedding dresses elsewhere!! read more

They don't deserve One Star, but that's the lowest allowed. This place is a disorganized mess. Picked up my shirts, got home, weren't mine. Trip back, they had switched my dry clean only shirts with someone's laundry shirts...obviously ruined my 3 shirts. OK, mistakes happen, but next time in they promised my shirts would be in on Saturday after 2:30, came in at 3:30 not in, will be in on Monday they said, come back then. Monday they called and said only one came back but other two would be in later that day. I waited until 4:30 Tuesday, only one shirt there. I had to drive to main location to pick up shirts. I'm done, anyone know a good cleaners in or around downtown? Just discovered two more shirts that were ruined by them. There simply isn't a better dry cleaner anywhere. I've lived all over and I've never gotten this kind of superior treatment. The staff is well trained and has longevity, the advice always spot on, the clothes are NEVER mixed up and I am always pleased with the outcome. They package everything to the point I tire of pulling off plastic, but it's always in the best interest of the product. Highland Cleaners punctured holes with safety pins in the waistline of a pair of silk pants I brought in. When I showed them the damage, they sent the pants out to be fixed. That helped a little but I still see damage from the pins on the waistline. When I submit a claim with them they changed their tune by telling me they didn't damage the pants after all and they were like that when I brought them in. I don't usually post reviews but this was an unbelievably awful experience. I would highly caution anyone from going here. read more
