The gist: person who hates doing laundry thinks the laundry basket is mostly harmless. Laundry is probably my My least favorite chore. I love fresh clean sheets as much as, if not more than, the next guy. It's time consuming and I don't have a washer and dryer so I have to go to laundromats. The laundry basket has been my go to since moving to this neighbor hood. The location is conviennent and close and the prices are cheap. But I do have some gripes. A lot, and I mean a lot, of the dryers are out of order. The disrepaired dryers are marked with little red smileys. The covid regulations are also very lax. The person I presume is the owner regularly goes without wearing a mask properly in my experience. This doesn't bother me because I pathologically hate interacting with people so I avoid her and also wait in my car. The owner also like to smoke right outside the entrance. The Laundry Basket also offers drop off laundry. This is super handy but expensive. So when doing laundry you have to make the choice of if you hate yourself or you hate your wallet. I typically go every other week in Wednesday mornings and it's usually deathly silent as I would like it to be. read more

So much homophobic and transphobic slurs under 5 mins. As I'm putting money in the washer. I heard some yelling "be careful with that". I think the person was frustrated cause the washer wasn't working. Which as an owner I get. But somehow things went from 0-100 really quick. The "trans" man asked for the money back that they spent, after the owner threatened to beat " him up and telling them to leave. The owner goes to the drawer and gets a $20. Yells, I'll do better , here's $20 for ur trans fund. Now get ur trans bull shit out of here. This trans person wasn't trans .. simply a lesbian. After he tries to apologize to me. I simply told him the homophobic and transphobic slurs was uncalled for . He tried making excuses . I put my head phones in and asked him not to speak to me. I've been going here for years and now that they are under new ownership there's been some problems... They totally ruined some brand new Tommy Bahama shorts by putting them in a dryer for too long that was overstaffed and it burned little marks on to the shorts... They totally don't want to take responsibility which is unfortunate because they belonged to a guest of mine so now I will have to pay for the shorts myself. There is no doubt that the shorts were fine before they went to the laundromat. I was really surprised how I was terribly treated, nobody even followed up with me. I spend about $100 at least a month here -for years!-- and I would expect to be treated with more respect and dignity. If they had just offered to give me a credit or to pay for part of the shorts it would've been much more reasonable in my opinion. Nowadays nobody wants to take responsibility for quality and just put everything on the consumer which is very unfair. I will never return and I cannot any longer recommend this business because they are unethical. read more

I rarely have a need for a laundromat and I'm thankful for that. This place makes me never want do laundry outside of my home again. It is dirty and they have lots of broken equipment. Ceiling tiles look like they're about to fall, furniture looks too dirty to sit on and i feel like I need to shower as soon as I leave. The only think I can say is a positive are the plants sitting by the entrance are nice and seem to be better maintained than the building or equipment read more

I stopped to pick up my laundry, expecing the clothes to be washed, however I was greeted by Cassie who showed me my clothes still in the bags and unwashed. There was a note attached saying, "return clothes" and "no longet a customer of The Laundry Basket" signed Aaron. I attempted to contact the owner to see what could possibly warrant such behavior, however he ignored my attempts. I saw him park at the location and I introduced myself and he told me, "we're done with ya", I asked him why and he told me I posted something online, which I did. Before I posted, I brought the overcharging issue to his attention and nothing was done to combat the problem. I am happy people know they overcharge so they stop taking money from people, but I am floored at the owner's behavior and his inability to accept constrictive criticism. He's upset he got busted overcharging people. I will take my business elsewhere and I highly suggest you do the same. I seriously don't know where to start with this place? From the run down washers, broken dryers, heroin addicts shooting up in bathroom, or the washing attendants daughter threatening me with physical violence! So i was washing my clothes, in washer and a half of sleeve was eaten off. I took it to the lady with the 3 screws that fell out of something and told her my issue. She just shrugged her shoulders and i don't Know? So I just walked away, and a few seconds later she comes over to me, and said I was going to tell you my boss is coming in and he can handle it but your rude and slammed the dryer door. I continue getting the remaining clothes from dryer and go and more change from change machine and say to lady that she was very unprofessional that i was only informing her she what had happened. Her daughter immediately said get get out of my face and don't talk to my mom that way I'll go get my brother! I told her your mother was stupid, because when i first came in, 2 of the washer trays had detergent caked in them and i was trying to clean them out. The attendant came and grabbed it from me reach in garbage can and grabbed a random mcdonald's cup pulled out straw and begun to scoop out powder from tray. I told her I'd rather her not do that since we are in a pandemic. End of story her boss didn't want to hear what I had to say, told me he was an outlaw biker who had a ruff life, didn't need my money, and wasn't taking care of my shirt because they were a big family and because I was rude to her. When I told my neighbor that I was going to another laundromat, she asked why I was driving so far when this one is closer? I said I didn't know it existed. So I went in, the cheapest washer loads are $2, .25 cheaper than the one in St. Matthews. I like to read books, magazines, or newspapers that I bring. I don't know if there's WIFI. The washers are clean, the floor is clean. The lady was friendly. Saturday morning I was the only one there till 11am-ish. Plus let's say you forget your detergent, there's a dollar store next door with everything you could need. read more

Not very busy on a Sunday afternoon which is nice. There is a Kroger just down the street if you need detergent, softener, etc... Lots of machines out of order, not huge so if there were a lot of people it would get crowded fast. $2.50-3.00 for front load (depends on level of soil). Majority of the washers and dryers are out of service on any day. Today there were limited dryers and every other front load washer was out of service. My clothes were drying, and as I was unloading my 2nd wash, the attendant empties my dryer and pushed my laundry to the side because no other dryers were available. Did not give me an opportunity to add more time or an option to dry second load. She purported that she asked but there were only 4 people (Not including her) in the facility, and she did not bring her intentions to my attention. I would not have let her touch my personal belongings if she did. It's an egregious business practices to provide adequate service for the line of business to patrons. read more

I went there once. NEVER AGAIN. 29 dryers in the place and only about 9 of the oldest ones work, and none of them get hot enough to dry your clothes in a reasonable amount of time. Also ridiculously expensive: washers were $2.75 and the lame dryers were a quarter for 6 minutes. Spent over $15 doing 3 loads of laundry and wasted an entire afternoon doing it. Can't comment on their drop-off service since I didn't use it but I'll be finding somewhere else to go in the future. read more

So I wanted to find a place that I could do laundry and that offered wifi so I could watch some shows to pass the time. The employee told me they had wifi but when I got there it wasn't working at all, and the comfy couches and video games were a overkill. They have some raggedy couches and two very old game machines. More than half of the dryers were out of order with a sign that said new ones were on the way. This caused problems for other customers who were in a queue to use the working ones. I was there early enough I didn't have a problem. There are tons of washers of different sizes and prices. The room was pretty clean. You can buy laundry soap in a vending machine, or go next door to Family Dollar. It's convenient to lunch places walking distance. read more

This is a pretty solid laundromat, as far as these things go. The machines are clean, efficient, and are hardly out of order. They just got a bunch of new front-loaders if you're into that kind of thing. There's a machine for quarters, video games, crane games, TV, and couches. GARBAGE!!!!!! This place was dirty and had crumpled dryer sheets all over the floor. 9 dryers were broken and people were waiting around half an hour for a dryer. My boyfriend's washing machine leaked water. Also, it was expensive to stand around or sit on some nasty couch. The biggest washer was $6, and the smallest was $2. There were only 6 folding tables in a huge place. There were only 3 chairs besides some old sectional couch in the front. The attendant was surly at best. One of the video games ate $1 in quarters and when I requested assistance the attendant said he can't help me and when I asked if there was someone else I could contact, he acted extra irritated and said look for a number on the machine. One would think if someone could take 5 minutes out of their day to label half the dryers out of order they could do the same for a broken arcade game. But that would be too much to ask. I have no idea why anyone would give a good review to this place. read more

Positives: they DO have triple load commercial washers. They have wifi (you have to find the sign with the password-basically a treasure hunt). Negatives: their a/c is bad and it gets hot. Literally 50% of their machines are out of order. Including two of the commercial size loaders today and countless dryers. If they'd fix their equipment, it would be way better.
