This place was great. I looked at their menu and really wanted a burrito but I couldn't pass up on their tacos. Our waitress was very attentive and ensured our drinks were full and we enjoyed our meals. The restaurant looked very inviting and clean. The decor was really well done. I got the brisket, bulgogi, and the quesadilla tacos. All of them were flavorful and delicious. My friends really enjoyed the ahi tacos. Happy Hour food is a great value. Server recommended the Bulgogi nachos. That was more than enough for a meal for me. Very tasty though bulgogi sauce is always a bit sweet for me and unlike with Korean BBQ with banchan, the chips didn't cut the sweetness enough for me so I'll try something different next time. As a non alcohol drinker, I'm always surprised at the cost of a mocktail which I assume is the same as a cocktail with alcohol. read more

All three were good, but I don't think I'd get them again. All tacos come on corn tortillas, they switched a lot of the former soy sauce marinades for tameri (yay!) but the carnitas are marinated in beer so those are a no go. It is unfortunately a shared fryer, but they can make substitutions for a lot of the fried options. the staff are SUPER knowledgeable, mark the order as an allergy, and were able to answer all my questions. We have patronized Wild Taco twice I. The last two Months. Both times the food and service were solid and the outdoor patio is just right after 7pm. Tonight with had the carne asada yucca fries which are amazing. A meal on its own but definitely a nice way to start. For tacos we had the coconut shrimp special which had just the right amount of sweet and spicy. I could have used a tad more slaw but loved the pineapple and fresh coconut. The chicken tinga are on the Monday night HH all night special for 3.50 and are a big portion of chicken. In Our last visit we had the taco Tuesday special with tacos and a margarita for cheap. It was good too. The drinks here are very good and reasonably priced. It's worth the 1.5 mile walk to eat here. read more

I love this place. I wanted to come in for happy hour but ran late this day. I will be back for happy hour though. The cocktails were simply divine and perfect for summer. The open dining concept from the darling patio to the walls that open to seventh was super refreshing. We started with the Queso Fundido and added chorizo. The wait staff looked after our drinks and our plates to make sure we always had something going. I would say the service was a five star. On the assortment of tacos. Won't be back to this location. Went at 7pm on a Friday night and all of the staff were on their phones or just hanging out with each other. Lighting and vibes were just not great, especially compared to the other location. Got the rajas queso fundido, ahi tuna taco, and Buffalo tofu taco. The Queso was not a fundido style, it was super starchy and had a weird almost grainy texture. The ahi tuna was ice cold - we sent this back. The best damn fish taco I have ever had. This MAHI taco is so delish, the slaw, the sweet spicy sauce on top with that crisp fish is just wow. Love it! Can't wait for more. The only thing avoiding a 5 star review is I did try their asada taco and didn't love the queso on the bottom, also the queso flameado was clumpy not great after a few min right out the fire. They merge Mexican and Asian flavor to create tacos (and dishes) that are out of this world! They have more than one location and you have to catch them out! MY ORDER: ceviche, queso fundido with chorizo plus three tacos: buffalo (first time trying it!), bulgogi, and coconut shrimp (special) BEST BITE: the coconut shrimp and bulgogi tacos were elite! What fun flavor combinations! I had come back to check this place out after noticing it when I tried Aloy Thai, which is next door. I got the chicken and waffle and bulgogi tacos. The chicken in the first taco was cooked perfectly and the flavor combination was interesting (there is definitely syrup involved), but this is probably more of a brunch dish than a dinner one. I'd get any taco with fried chicken, though - it was so good! The bulgogi taco...meh. I wouldn't order it again. It needs a sauce to pull together the ground beef and the kimchi. Instead, it was a little dry and not as cohesive other Korean tacos that I've had. The tortilla chips were good and service was attentive and friendly. I love the location of this little spot. The ambiance, the decor and overall vibe are all great aspects of this restaurant. Service is pretty decent, as well. I see the MOD step up to help busy servers/bartenders with closing out tickets, which I love to see as a former server, and frequent diner. It's nice to see teamwork, and it helps you not get stuck waiting too long if you're ready to leave. Everyone is very friendly, too. My reasoning for 3 stars is the food. It's just okay. I'd also like to mention I have been here on two separate occasions now. Both of which I left feeling like the food should have been better. Where I appreciate the homemade chips for the ahi nachos, they're just so thick and overly crispy, it's not a super pleasant texture, and the flavors of the sauces are just off. Visit #2 was for tacos. I know that I love ahi tuna (hence ordering the nachos on visit #1) so I got the ahi taco. There is a Fantastic portion of tuna on this taco. It is thiccucuh, juicy, and seared to perfection. The issue again was in the sauce flavors. One was overly sweet (which I didn't get?) and only a whisper of wasabi. The other taco I ordered was the bison skirt steak. The meat was soooo juicy and the flavor was fantastic. The only thing I would change about this was just order it without the tamari-lime onion. I appreciate that they are trying to add a texture element to the dish, as well as a pop, but it just wasn't for me. Not sure I'll be back to try it a third time. read more

I'm updating my previous review from the past summer due to the unfriendly service experienced during my past two visits: After dining at a table with friends, I decided to stay for one last night cap since I live two blocks away. I sat myself at the bar (with permission from the cook) and had a waitress confusingly stare at me for a solid minute after I politely asked for a house marg (to the point where I blatantly asked if I should simply leave). The blonde bartender commented it was strange I spoke to the cook prior to being seated, and I reiterated I simply wanted a house marg. I had one drink prior to the bar seating, and both the waitress and bartender made me feel unwelcome and awkward. I was truly about to leave when the bartender handed me a house marg. I finished quite quickly, left a tip, and headed home. This wasn't the first "cold" experience I've received from the bartender after bringing friends from out-of-town to this neighborhood hangout. I've been rushed, shut down, and had eyes rolled at me. I believe there are four other similar restaurants I'd feel more comfortable investing in than this one. My new fav taco happy hour! Located in CapHill, their happy hour is great and daily from 3-6pm. I visited on a Friday around 5:30pm and had no issues being seated immediately and making it for happy hour. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We started off with house margs ($6) and trio of salsas ($7). The three salsas were great but not very spicy. The marg was great! For our meal, I ordered the KFT and Queso tacos and my boyfriend ordered the chicken tinga and bulgogi tacos (all $3.50 on HH!). Everything was delicious but I enjoyed the KFT for its unique flavor. There are tons of other tacos I can't wait to try on the regular menu! The dining area was great and the doors were open for the beautiful weather. We each ordered a lunch special which were $12 each. The bulgolgi tacos were unique and unlike any tacos I've ever had. The marinated meat was so flavorful and we ate it all up. Will definitely be back for. More! The chicken club was also very yummy! The chicken was nice and crispy and the avocado, jalapeño aioli was the perfect spread and pulled the whole sandwich together. The environment is hip and fun. Our server/bartender, Abbe was great and super helpful (this was our first time). She helped us make some decisions about the tacos and my husband was super impressed with them. The buffalo chicken was his favorite, but he loved everything. The food was very good - at the other Wild Taco location as well, which was close to my airbnb and I really should put a review there because that bartender is the reason I went back again to this location.. Because this, you see, is not about the delicious food or the excellent service at both Wild Tacos, this is a story about the Pumpkin Horchata. I got some tacos to go at the Berkeley location and the bartender and I had a conversation while I waited and then before I got up to go he said, "you should try the special this month, Pumpkin Horchata." He gave me a sample from the pitcher, obviously Tequila free, and it was AHHHmazing. I took my daughter the next day but we ended up very close to the other location and ordered dinner. I was not so hungry and asked the server if she could split the Horchata drink but with one side with the tequila and one non-alcoholic for my daughter I thought this was kind of annoying of me probably but you do what you gotta do. Not only did she do it they were both garnished beautifully with a cinnamon stick and some large yellow sugar granules. She gave the tequila shot on the side b/c bartender worried it would overpower the drink since we split it. I can now say this drink is excellent with or without tequila and I'm coming tomorrow just for another. How am I going to drink regular horchata again? read more
