This place rocks. Really great biscuit sandwiches with rotating biscuits of the day & jam options. Super friendly staff, awesome hash browns and coffee too. They also celebrate local artists and sell unique prints which rotate. Excited to enjoy breakfast on the patio this spring!
What I love about rise and shine is the consistency of the food the service and the atmosphere that each place has been so far. This is my second location I've visited and it was just as good as the first. Highly recommend.
Service counter with limited seating, and on a Saturday morning the line was out of the door, but worth every minute of it. I got the Raleigh, a cheddar, roast beef, and horseradish on a buttermilk biscuit with the horseradish on the side. The horseradish was creamed, like a mayo almost, but tasted strongly of horseradish, so I'm glad I asked for it on the side. My husband got the Chapel, a fried chicken biscuit, and added cheese and egg. My husband raved about it, saying it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches he had ever had. We also got the mocha, decaf. It was great, like they melted dark chocolate into the espresso. We got a biscuit and gravy too, which was good but not as impressive as the rest of the meal. Love the ambiance, with the little brick walls and art being sold. No dedicated parking lot, but plenty of parking in the nearby neighborhood. Overall, I highly highly recommend and will absolutely be back.
I can't believe I haven't left a review for one of my favorite spots in Denver. What better than now? I've been to Rise & Shine multiple times since visiting and now living here. It's a place from North Carolina. I've never been to NC but I'm glad they came to us. It's a quaint and delicious breakfast spot that specializes in biscuits. With plenty of seating in the front cafe area and the patio in the back. They also have a pretty great coffee bar as well. I love the almond lattes. They have a new 'biscuit of the day' everyday and that is what I get every time. They've had some unique flavors in the past such as parmesan, black pepper & sea salt, Italian herb, etc. They have premade sandwiches you can order from the menu but I make sure to create my own. Without fail, I will get the biscuit of the day, egg, honey and a hash brown in mine. And make sure you get the hash brown in there, not just on the side. AND CANT forget the honey. It's adds the perfect amount of sweetness. Their biscuits are fresh and amazing every time. They just really have the consistency down along with their other location near Wash Park. Employees are always nice and willing to help! If you haven't tried it hopefully this review will convince you otherwise. I true delight every time I get to eat here. I heart u Rise & Shine
Delicious! This was a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. We basically went in blind but the menu is pretty straightforward. Simple but I'm confident every option is fantastic. I went with the chicken biscuit sandwich and I would absolutely get it again. The interior gives friendly neighborhood breakfast spot vibes, which was a nice welcome for our visit to Denver.
Simple Menu, cozy atmosphere, friendly service AND the best damn biscuits and gravy! Who cares if there's only counter service? I consider myself something of a B&G professional. When I say it's hard to find better B&G, you can believe it
This place is amazing! The lady that owns it is so sweet and genuinely cares so much about her customers! Plus the biscuit rock! Everyday there is a "biscuit of the day" and usually is pretty unique and tasty! Definitely add this place to your breakfast rotation if you haven't yet!

We ordered two biscuit sandwiches and a side of gravy. The perfect portion for a satisfying quick meal that won't put you a coma. The biscuits themselves were the star of the show as the name implies. Perfectly rich without being overwhelming. Give it a go!

This is a good place for a date, to catch up with a friend, or to come grab some breakfast, and read a book. I love the abundance of North Carolina pride! All of the biscuits are named after NC cities, and they have such a cute logo, featuring the outline of the state and the Colorado state flag. As a transplant, I can respect loving Colorado but also acknowledging your roots. Biscuits are great! The Chapel Hill chicken biscuit was my fave. I also loved the cinnamon roll made with biscuit dough. Solid, concise menu. Overall great spot. They have a few beers on tap as well as coffee, espresso, and juice. They do not have gluten-free or vegan biscuits. Alternative milk is available for coffee drinks.

Absolutely loved this cafe!! Great coffee, great breakfast sandwiches, the jam of the day was delicious (Strawberry Limoncello), and those biscuits were phenomenal. Love that they were able to bring the Carolina's to Colorado! The service was great and everyone was so friendly and kind. I love that there is artwork everywhere in the cafe. There is a pin board with those who have traveled from different places and a map. A great staple and a new favorite place to visit again! :) read more

Rise & Shine brings the Southern delight of fresh baked biscuits to Denver! We ordered the Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Biscuit of the Day. However, I can only comment on how the BOTD was. For the first time ever, my husband and I respectfully stayed on our sides of the breakfast room table. I think he knew that if he asked for a bite... I'd say no. I was just too into it! We all have those days, right? ;D Anywho, he loved his sandwiches and I LOVED MINE! My BOTD was an Everything Seasoned Biscuit. It was firm to the touch, yet perfectly pillowy inside. It's flavor was exactly as listed with a slight hint of butter (a big win for me! #butterlover). I had the choice to have it as is or to build a sammy. I opted to build a mighty biscuit sammy with egg, bacon and havarti cheese. It was everything I was craving before our hike (see photo for reference). There's a ton of other options, though. For example, I could have just gone butter and jam. Or, I could have asked for gravy. Or, I could have done all of the above and some. Or, I could have just opted for the pre-made biscuit sandwiches. There's 6 options with all different proteins. It's impressive! We had a really mellow and cool man helping us order who happily guided us through the ordering process. It was early so definitely nice to see a warm and inviting face. The inside has a few tables to sit at, as well as, a cozy couch. The secret seating gem is their outdoor patio. It's full of tables just waiting for guests to enjoy their hot n' fresh biscuits in. We were clearly charmed by this Southern delight & will be back to enjoy another breakfast soon! read more
Had a craving for a chicken biscuit and a co-worker recommended to come here. Yummmmmmm. As you can see from the photo, it is a large piece of chicken. The outside is a nice flaky crust, and chicken was nice and juicy. The biscuit had a perfect outer crunch with a soft inside. I'm so glad I visited. I'm sure to go again. read more
Epic hangover breakfast sandwiches/biscuits! After a bender the night before, this was our first stop in the morning. The coffee and pastries are decent, but of course, everyone comes for the biscuits. I was able to try the Raleigh (roast beef and cheddar) and the Chapel Hill (fried chicken), and both were HUGE and hearty. I did feel like the biscuit was a bit too thick, and that the dominant "flavor" was just salt. I wish there was a greater diversity of flavor and maybe some housemade sauces, but it's solid as is. read more

We ordered the Boone and Raleigh. The plain biscuit was really nice and soft. The everything biscuit was overly salty. The Boone was good, I just wish they used fresh avocado instead of an avocado mash that was premade....came out of plastic? Service was nice and fast. Minimal seating inside. Parking was easy to find on the street. read more
Super tasty biscuits! Cute little cafe style place. Not many seats, I get the feeling a lot of people order and go. You order at the counter and then grab a seat and wait for,your name to be called. Cappuccino was good too. Super clean and the staff was extremely friendly. A few half hour off street parking spots out front, otherwise you have to park in the nearby residential neighborhood off street. It was busy on a Monday at 10:00 am. I bet the weekends are super busy. All and all...well done! I'd come back. read more

This was such a treat. I got in early and my friend took me here to show off her local haunt. She told me how nice the folks were that worked there and they definitely showed the love. We even got a free cinnamon treat! The biscuits were incredible, perfectly flaky yet moist. My sandwich was a bacon egg and cheese biscuit which I didn't get a picture of unfortunately. I loved going into a place in Denver and seeing a taste of home, since all of their menu items were named after NC cities. 100 percent recommend! read more

My new weekly breakfast place! Fantastic pricing, service and food. They had cool set on tbe wall plus tons of references to North Carolina (which made my boyfriend feel right at home). We were excited to learn they also had Cheerwine. The Chapell Hill sandwich was a better version of bojangles Cajun filet Sammy! Definitely check this spot out. read more
Fantastic spot! From service to taste, this restaurant is five stars all around! When we arrived, there was a pretty long line outside the restaurant, but it went pretty quick! When we got inside, the gal working the register was so kind and patient while I ordered nearly everything on the menu. I almost forgot to order hashbrowns but she reminded me as we were wrapping up my order. The cost for all the items we got (breakfast sandwiches, hashbrowns, and two espresso drinks) was surprisingly reasonable! Especially for a trendy, high-quality place like this! The food and drinks were super delicious. I went with a Boone (vegetarian) and added an egg to it. My guy got a Chapel Hill (chicken) and also added an egg to his. Both sandwiches were very tasty! The hashbrowns were like an elevated fast-food style... and I mean that in the best way possible! If you haven't been here yet, make sure to stop by! Rise and Shine has the best biscuits in Denver! I grew up in Georgia and was disappointed by the lack of biscuit places in Denver. Once I tried Rise and Shine I knew I found my go to biscuit place! There are a few tables in side to eat and limited seating outside. Sometimes the line is out the door but it goes by pretty fast. They have a rotating biscuit of the day that you can track on their website. Which I've heard their Gouda biscuits are the best! I took my friend here and she absolutely loved the biscuit sandwich she got. Their chicken biscuits are so delicious and perfectly crispy. The staff is always so friendly when I come in. I would put this at the top of your list for must try places to eat in Denver! read more
I just moved down the street and wanted to try it out! The line wrapped around the block seemed scary walking up but it moved pretty quick. Once you order, the food comes out fast. I loved that they had local art hung up and sold inside. The women who was at register was the best--so happy and excited to greet everyone. Certainly doesn't hurt that it is so reasonably priced. The bacon was crisp and touch of honey was perfect on the daily biscuit. Excited to try out some of their "set" sandwiches. I will absolutely be back here! read more
Rise & Shine embodies the soul of North Carolina with perfectly buttered biscuits, impeccable hospitality, and accessible prices that should appeal to most diners. While the hours are limited, this little shop by both Sloans Lake and Wash Park allow you to grab a delicious breakfast/brunch for less than $5. You can't go wrong with any of the biscuit sandwiches or even going with a plain biscuit (or biscuit of the day) with a simple filling/spread. I've taken numerous friends to Rise & Shine and everyone, without fail, falls in love with the ambiance, food, and service. Given space is limited for seating, it's a great spot to grab food to-go. To me, this spot is a Denver staple. One of those spots that stands out in Denver, despite other bakeries and breakfast shops that might catch your eye. read more
So glad I stopped here on a Saturday morning before a walk around the lake. There was a line out the establishment which is a good sign. The line went by pretty fast. Cute hole in the wall with cozy vibes. There's additional seating outside in the backyard. I ordered the Charlotte biscuit sandwich and added an egg with a vanilla latte. The hash browns were crisp and tasty. Everything was reasonably priced and delicious. Not as heavy as biscuits at Denver Biscuit Co. Will def be back! read more
