For my first visit I really wanted to like this place since it's close to my home, but my experience was very disappointing. For context, I normally prefer gel x nails. However, I recently attended a wedding overseas where the nail tech doing the bridal party only worked with acrylic, so I ended up with acrylics and just needed a fill to maintain them. I booked an appointment online for an acrylic fill, which their system confirmed, and also got a basic pedicure. I arrived on time and the entire visit took almost two hours. Right from the start, instead of being welcomed, I was greeted with visible annoyance for showing up. I'm still not sure why there was an issue since the appointment came directly through their own booking system. The pedicure was fine, but the acrylic fill was honestly one of the worst nail services I've had. The technician was clearly talking about me and mocking me to other technicians which felt incredibly disrespectful. If they didn't want to do the acrylic fill, I would have much preferred they simply decline the service rather than making me feel uncomfortable for the entire appointment. There were also several issues with the service itself: No hand washing/brushing nails between the acrylic work and polish which I've never experienced i wasn't really allowed to choose my own polish color - they kept pushing certain colors The technician opened the door super dramatically while talking trash under her breath - I guess because of the acrylic smell which made the whole service feel even more chaotic. My cuticles weren't pushed back or even trimmed at all which was shocking. No lotion or quick hand massage, which normally comes with even a basic service. I also mentioned it was my first time, yet they never offered the new customer discount they advertise on their website. On top of that, the salon appeared unclean, basic sanitation steps during the nail service seemed to be skipped, and they had children working to clean up the salon and doing custodial work. We came in on Valentine's Day. The salon was clean and organized. We were brought over to the chair for our pedi. Shortly after they started working on my mani. I loved both my mani and pedi. I often have issues with application of the gel being bulky or uneven. This was not the case here the application of the gel was spot on. I loved how my nails and toes came out. Wow what an experience. To some it up they are very discriminatory better yet just flat out racist. I pulled up and had my friend go in to get her eyebrows waxed. I parked the car and went in to wait for her. I sat down and they all paused stared at me and asked what I needed I responded that I'm just waiting for my friend she's getting waxed. They spoke in their language and then I notice a lady get up locked the door and sat in the chair across from me. Mind you when we entered there was already two white ladies inside getting services done door was not locked nor did they feel uncomfortable. She sat there until my friend came out the room. In which I got up to tell her what I just experienced. I told them that they were racist and she just shrugged and rolled her eyes. She unlocked the door, we paid and left. We left feeling insulted, not welcomed, and hurt. We will never return and we will tell everyone we know regardless of race to not support this salon. I was looking for a nail salon near the M resort and found this place on yelp. I called to make sure they had time for a gel mani & pedi and was told to come right over. The nail salon is located in a plaza and about 10 minutes from the M resort. Walked in and immediately greeted and seated. My nail tech was Janine (sp?) and she is one of best I have ever experienced. I asked about Gel-X vs acrylic and was knowledgeable. She didn't try to persuade me into getting the Gel-X - which I was more curious about and since I was pressed for time, I decided to stick with Gel. She offered to do hard gel on my fingernails which would help with my brittle nails. It's been over a week and quality is good! My husband and I went for mani/pedi. We were given an appointment time. They called back shortly thereafter to push the appointments by 30 min. We still had to wait beyond our appointment time. At only 23 hours after getting my nails done, my polish chipped. I usually take my own polish but this time I used the salon's regular polish (not gel). Length of nails... I had to ask her to go back and cut my toenails a second time as they were too long. My fingernails are different lengths. I don't care if my fingernails are long or short but I do want them to be consistent. Cuticles... She used nippers on my cuticles but more should have been done. Some cuticles look nice and others do not. I would say 50-50. Half the cuticles on my hands are nice and the other half need help. Everyone was nice but the quality of work was not. read more

I tried this salon for the first time yesterday and I'm really not happy with my manicure. I asked for "round natural shaped nails" and the technician kept trying to make almond shapes. She even said she was so used to making almond shapes that a natural shaped nail was not what she is comfortable with. After several attempts and ending up with a sort of almond shape, I just came home and shaped them myself. The atmosphere at the salon was fine and everyone seemed nice. I tipped the technician only because she seemed like she was trying her best, but I won't be going back. I would suggest that if you use the salon you check which technician you want to use. Yesterday I went in fir gel polish removal and gel polish, I also received a 15% discount text that I wanted to use.the cost should have been $40 less 15% discount The technician decided to use a sparkle gel that evidently cost $5 more that wad not disclosed to me. When I checked out the bill was $54. Unfortunately I added a 20% tip. This morning when checking my accounts I realized I overplayed and was over charged. I drove back to the salon and all they would do is on my next visit give me sparkle polish for $0 nothing was mentioned about my 15% discount they offered me. Now I know why the place is empty all the time. I will not be back. I will spend my $ elsewhere. I have been a regular there for 7 years. Shame on them. Bella you should have known better. Edit: they contacted me and they had me come in and they redo them, with a different brand of gel polish. It's a little thicker than usual, but no chips or scratches. They were swift in resolving the issue. Horrible quality of their "gel" manicure. Tried emailing- email doesn't exist. Contact form doesn't work on their website. I came in on 02/25 for a gel manicure. I've had gel manicures off and on for 15 years. I have never in my life had gel manicures chip so much in such a short time. I had exactly 36 hours before the first two nails chipped. I wear my nails short - it isn't an issue of them getting snagged, and even if that was the case, it's gel. The whole point of gel is to last even if you try and cut it with a key! I came back in on Thursday, she fixed four nails. Well, within 18 hours two more nails chipped. The whole point of my manicure was to celebrate my birthday and have "fancy" nails for Disneyland. To be honest, my "nail polish strips" that I do myself last THREE WEEKS, without chips or any upkeep. My nails looks ATROCIOUSLY. I could have done a better job using Dashing diva. The other issue is that this gel manicure flakes so bad it is ripping parts of my nail off, and now it's snagging and I'm getting hang nails. Absolutely horrible. I think what they are doing is using a regular polish and throwing a coat or two of gel clear over it, and saying it's gel. YOU NEED TO BE USING GEL POLISH FOR ALL LAYERS! I am so disappointed. The whole time I was on my once in a lifetime trip with my family I was constantly worried about snagging my nails, and looking down and seeing how shitty they look. I could have and should have just done my nails with Dashing Diva like I always do... but I wanted to be pampered for once. How will they remedy this? I don't have time to go back into a salon 3 times for a gel manicure that should have lasted as the nail grew out. I thought it would be best for me to reach out to the salon before posting this on Yelp, but the email is fake, the submit contact form doesn't work on their website. And again, don't have time to go in AGAIN. Also - To be clear, I avoided using hand sanitizer after the manicure, and would instead immediately wash my hands with regular soap, I avoid any chemicals on my nails, and use cleaning gloves to protect my nails. However, again, even with gel manicures, and when I've done my own Dashing Diva nail polish strips, that hasn't and won't affect the quality like this. This is inferior product and technique on their part. read more

Anthony and Katie were absolutely fantastic! I was in need of a fill, and my young daughter enjoys getting her nails done as well, so I called ahead (roughly at 1pm) for 5pm appointments, and had no issue. They even sent a confirmation text, which was a reassuring touch. We got there right on time, and they were ready for us - Katie had the pedicure chair/station ready to go for my daughter, and aside from choosing my color, Anthony was ready for me at the manicure station. He fixed a broken acrylic and reshaped my nails from coffin to almond with meticulous precision. He kept the acrylic less bulky as requested, and the color and finish is clean, smooth, and blemish-free: he was a perfectionist here, and I appreciated the heck out of it! Additionally he was a fantastic conversationist, and I really enjoyed my time with him! My daughter wanted birthday nails, and wanted it to look like frosting with multi-colored sprinkles. Katie pulled this off nicely, and my kiddo felt comfortable with the water temp, the gel curing under the UVs, and the massage parts of her mani/pedi. I was thoroughly impressed with the place overall - very spa-like atmosphere, multiple TVs to watch, light music, and fancy, upscale decor. I was worried at first but honestly, it was a great experience! She made sure that I was comfortable about what was going to happen and explained what I wanted. Please don't go to Highland Nails. I booked an acrylic removal, and while i know it's not supposed to look pretty, it's not supposed to be painful. For reference the first pic is from this morning and then there are the pics from right after I left the salon. Typically you should soak the acrylics and then use a drill bit to file them down, but instead the nail tech used another tip of an acrylic nail to essentially snap them off. I told her it was hurting me multiple times, and she told me it was because my nails were so thin. I left with cuts and damaged nail beds. I still paid and tipped, but I'm so so disappointed. WOW!!! This place was beyond amazing! I got a pedicure by Daisy, and she took her time and really paid attention to detail. I then got the Gel X nails. By Katie, it was outstanding!
