We even scored a shaded spot, woohoo! The temps were mid 80's, so we were really happy to see plenty of shade so when we got back to the car, we wouldn't be scorched. After checking in (the sister has season passes, so it was really easy), we found three lawn chairs and settled into our space for the afternoon. Towels laid out, sunscreen applied, and we were ready to go. One of the first things I noticed was how clean the place was. There wasn't a single piece of trash in sight and the water was crystal clear. There is a lazy river, two giant slides, a lap pool, a kiddie area, and diving boards! Throughout the afternoon we explore each area but my favorite was definitely the lazy river and slides. There were plenty of life guards on hand and I loved how every hour they offered a 15 minute "adult swim." Over 18 only! However, adults with children under two were also allowed. I will definitely be back this summer with the family and I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you're looking to cool off.

Philips gave me what sounded like a rude tone, and, to be quite honest. When you put nothing about open or closed dates for an application, then tell me what essentially was "I saw your email but didn't respond." You don't really have any reason to give me tone for something that was your fault. Anyways that was just my experience. If you have any interest in working at Highlands, I would be wary of who your employer might be.

There is also a large, separate baby pool that is perfect for toddlers. There is lots of grassy area for spreading out. Also lots of shade trees for when it gets hot. Goose poo as shared above so badly we didn't feel safe to bother and NO WAY were we going to bother and I even try to pick up our ball among all that infestation. This is a really pretty area. We had so much fun exploring the boardwalks through the wetlands - we…read morespotted tiny turtles, frogs and tadpoles, egrets and herons, ducks, and so much more! You can get a nice walk in with the looping combo of paved trail and boardwalk/bridges. There are a few shelters and trees around to help with the sun a bit. On the far end is a playground, with a very nice large shelterhouse with picnic tables. The playground is a lot of wood, metal, and climbing nets, and has sections for ages 2-5 and 5-12. By far the biggest draw appeared to be the very tall, fast slide, accessible via climbing net. There are benches available, and play shades available in one section. A nice sized parking lot is available too.
