Very unprofessional decor - all decked out for pride - which is fine, but it was just gaudy and unprofessional for a doctor's office and off putting as the first thing you notice about a place. Second - it was pretty filthy in there. I opted to put my purse on the filthy floor as opposed to the even filthier waiting room chair. The staff all looked dingy, too. Then, I got the hard press to buy contacts and eye glasses from them. Went so far as to look up contacts pricing on Costco and was told Costco was about $8 cheaper but they wouldn't take insurance, etc.... I ordered on Costco later that day for about $500 less.... We had an emergency eye situation where my wife got hit in the eye with a piece of work out equipment. We called the emergency on call 4 times and the Doctor never called us back. We showed up at Highlands Ranch Vision the next morning early before they opened and the Offie Manager told us they were booked, go to the Emergency Room. We called Colorado Eye Consultants and told them the story and they got us in right away even though we weren't active patients. I've been going here for years but recently had an extremely negative experience with the same optometrist named Allison. My son and I were there to pick up our new glasses and Allison made us wait 1.5 hours while she kept helping others arriving after us. I had the receptionist let her know we were waiting at the hour mark and she continued to assist others that showed up. Who would do this to a child? This is all because I changed my mind on contact lenses that I wore for one day and never even picked up my sample lenses. I sure hope my doctor reads this review so he knows what passive aggressive behavior is exhibited by Allison. I have been coming here for a few years and they have amazing optometrist! I highly recommend. As for the retail side, this location isn't as polished as it used to be. During my last visit, the retail sales person I worked was a bit confused. They misquoted pricing a few times. Luckily the price continued to come down (vs the opposite). I also had to call to see if my glasses were ready (which there were and had been sitting for a bit). That said, the retail staff was pleasant and friendly. I've been seen 2 years at this clinic, and every year, it's the same situation. They mess up with scheduling, the mess up with contact orders, they have accused me of not paying for my contacts (and later verified that I did)...and when I raise concerns, they blame it on me. I went in for my annual eye exam. The staff were friendly and the doctor was great! But what really stood out was that, when I sat down at the desk to pay my bill, the consultant (Lance) asked me about my current pair of glasses. I'm not eligible for new frames yet, but my current frames have metal arms and were irritating the skin behind my ears. Lance took my glasses to one of the back rooms and found some plastic sleeve-like guards that fit on the arms. He spent a good 20 minutes getting them heated so that they would form to my glasses and stay put. When he brought them back to me, the exposed metal arms were coated with a plastic layer that would keep the metal from touching my skin. Lance went above and beyond to save me all kinds of money and make my current glasses useable until I can replace them. With many vendors doing everything they can to separate me from my money, it's refreshing to know there are still some places I can go and be treated like a human. Went to my first appointment, dr was 20 minutes late and I was her first patient. The staff is rude and unprofessional. Pressured me into signing paperwork that would allow them to bill me for exams I didn't think I needed and extra charges I know my insurance covers. When I asked questions I was laughed at. I've never paid for more than my copay. So to tell me I would owe more than that was a red flag. Dr finally showed up and wanted to discuss this all in front of other patients and still couldn't answer my questions. So I asked to cancel the appointment. Called a new office, gave them the same info and found out the extra 3 minutes they spent they looked up my insurance and found I was right I should only owe my copay. Now if this place would have done their job they would have seen a new patient today. Sad that I wasted my time driving in bad weather, show up 30 minutes early but the dr shows up 20 min late, rude staff, not knowledgeable about their own forms, argumentative, and lack of competence to understand a patients insurance cost me 2 hours of my day that I wish I could bill them like they would me if that was me being 20 minutes late. read more

The upsell attempts, deceit and attitude of the optician I dealt with reminded me of walking onto a poorly run used car dealer. While the exam and checkin process went well, upon check-out my copay suddenly quadrupled! When I questioned her she said "we don't ask people if they want the extra services, it is just a part of the exam but it is not covered by your co-pay." I went to look for new glasses on April 14, 2022. I walked in and spoke to the receptionist behind the desk. I asked if I could look at their selection of glasses. There were to women working in the Optical Department, sitting behind a desk. One asked if I had an appointment. She informed me that I needed to make an appointment in order to select glasses. I was the only one there, other then the employees. I would have left if there had been customers in there looking. Obviously, they were not interested in making a sale. I very seldom will write a bad review, but this Dr's office is HORRIBLE; let me explain why; My elderly parents have been treated with nothing but disrespect by this practice. My father has dementia and is slow to get his actual point across, and many times does not make a lot of sense, but of course, to my father, he does. Recently, my father called this Dr's office to discuss his glasses prescription, and I am sure there was some confusion about why he was calling, but instead of getting to the root of the conversion, the office manager was extremely disrespectful. Without trying to help my father figure out when he needed it, the office manager basically told my father to go elsewhere. He then told him he would refund his money and that my father needed to go someplace else for glasses. My mother, not really knowing exactly what had transpired on their call, then called to try to explain to them about my father's dementia to try to help them understand my father's situation a little better, and AGAIN the male office manager was extremely rude to her! He kept interrupting her and basically would not let her get a word in edgewise and refused to listen to anything she had to say. This type of treatment towards our elderly should not be tolerated, and the fact that the manager is allowed to treat a patient this way is unfathomable. I am FURIOUS that this Dr's office has basically bullied both of them in this manner and have absolutely no compassion or understanding towards their elderly clientele. We have found another office that we feel will treat them with more respect than this office, and I suggest others do the same. read more

I have been a patient for 5 years and I love the medical staff, however, the optical part of the business is awful. In just the past year, 2 out of 3, pairs of single lens glasses we returned with the incorrect prescription. How does that happen once much less twice? Apparently this great practice was bought out by a corporation. Bummer, not only were mistakes made at the lab but the general attitude of the office has changed, not nearly as friendly and accommodating as it used to be. I've had glasses for 30 years. This is the first time I've had these many problems with the lenses, and I've gone to cheap places like LensCrafters in the distant past (so that is saying a lot). I'm unsure which lensmaker they go through, but it is NOT GOOD. I originally thought it was the prescription, so I took the glasses back and we decided to put my old prescription in since I saw just fine with it. I just got the "remade" lenses yesterday and I'm pretty sure the lensmaker didn't do anything to change the lens, just sent them back to HRVC or HRVC didn't send them to the lensmaker to fix. Still having nausea and having problems focusing just like the problem lenses. Also the bottom of the lens was still clear when I asked it to be frosted so any overhead light doesn't reflect back into my eye. I'm afraid I'm going to have to fork out the extra cash to go somewhere else that uses a capable lensmaker since I already used my insurance. read more

Love the hours, open Saturdays and staff is friendly and efficient. Purchased a pair of glasses and they were very patient and worked with me while choosing the right pair. They take many insurance plans. There is ample parking and it's very easy to find. Its in a petty central part of Highlands Ranch.major cross streets sre HR pkwy and Broadway. My family and I have been going to this practice for several years. Although it is a bit pricey and they offer NO discount for private pay, which I find hard to swallow as they receive 100% from us versus someone with insurance and we pay on the spot they still don't offer any type of customer loyalty discount, even 10% would be a nice thank you:) So here is my biggest complaint. Although they do offer a 60 day guarantee to make sure the lenses are correct if they are not then they are not very happy when they have to remake or refund for the lenses/frames. The first time I had to do this I felt a bit of an 'attitude' but oh well my remade lenses where great so whatever. Two years later had to have a pair of lenses made and this time the lenses kept giving me problems. Doctor was great tried to work with me but the office staff was unbearable and would not acknowledge me when I walked in, tried to convince me I just didn't know how to adjust to new glasses or the type of glasses I had even though I had worn glasses all my life Then when I had enough and said I would not be returning to the practice and not because of the doctors but rather due to the front staff and the Optician they basically held the door open for me. So I guess their business is doing so well they don't need my business and I would say anyone else's businesses for that matter. There are so many other choices out there why would anyone put up with being treated like this. read more

This is an excellent office. I have been seeing optometrists for 55 years. I am now 63 , with several eye issues, the most serious being low pressure glaucoma, which has caused optic nerve damage, even possible blindness. It is nice to know the resources available to my long term care, in working with Dr. Munson , (and network), with my vision needs. My mono-vision contacts have given me 20/20 vision , which is challenging with astigmatism , myopic and presbyopic eyes . I am very pleased to call my vision center. read more
