Hubby and I went up to Semmes to try this family owned restaurant and we weren't disappointed. We…read morefound out from the owner, Brandon Van Hook, that it had been open for almost 10 years. So on his suggestion we both tried burgers and they were awesome. In fact, they were so good and BIG we both came home with half for later. I had the Black & Bleu cooked medium and dressed with a cajun mayo, lettuce, tomato and blue cheese crumbles...yum! Hubby opted for the Hickory Pit Burger after I read the description out loud to him! Check this out: BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Onion Rings (on the burger) and good old Cheddar Cheese. He loved it! You get a side with your burger and so we both had fries. I had the steak fries and he had regular. Both were great! Things to know: The restaurant opens at 5AM and closes at 9PM, every day. They serve breakfast and have daily lunch & dinner specials. It is not a very big place, so I imagine there are times when you have to wait for a table. The next time we go, I think we may try the breakfast. We live in WeMo and this is only about 15 minutes from our house if you take Snow Road. Very friendly staff

Brandon and his team go out of their way to make every guest feel welcome, and it shows in both the service and the smiles. The food is consistently delicious, portions are generous, and you can tell it's all made with care. A true local gem that reminds you what good Southern hospitality is all about. Russell T.

Ok soooooooooo y'all if you have not had Authentic Hawaiian Plate lunch then you need to head on…read moreover to Aloha Made BBQ and get you a plate lunch it's so ono!!! Hubby is from Hawaii we both know Hawaiian food very well (if you from the islands you know)! I make traditional Hawaiian food for my husband at home all the time, with that being said it's nice to have a place to go and have someone else cook for us every once in awhile haha and to go talk story with Mrs Raquel she is so amazing, service is top notch, friendly and quick and well the food is amazing only suggestion is cook the macaroni a little less it was a tad over cooked!!! Now understand there is a special way to eat a plate lunch and if you have never had one it might seem strange but the meat is so flavorful that's why the Mac salad and white rice is there and you mix the bite your taking add some meat with your Mac salad and rice then take your bite it's absolutely a perfect bite! The spam Musubi is just as it is perfect ! So y'all head on over to Aloha Made BBQ and grab you an Authentic Hawaiian plate lunch and talk story with Mrs Raquel! I promise you will be back again and again!

Aloha Made BBQ is a family owned, Veteran owned and as legit as it gets! Niu and his wife Raquel are so nice, welcoming and full of the aloha spirit. Had to get the two meat plate with chicken and kalbi, 2 scoop rice, 1 scoop Mac salad. Also ordered the loco moco. Everything was delicious! The food is so ono. It really tasted like being back on the island. Niu was also kind to give us a sample of the kalua pork - tender and juicy and had that sweet smoky flavor, just perfect! Located on the left side of the VFW building, I cannot recommend this place more. We will definitely come back up this way for the food and the friendly vibes.

I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could…read more We came in TH evening, 9/3/26. I ordered the taster boat, a smoked meat sampler w/ sliced chix breast (sort of dry), brisket (nice smoke bark but lacked seasoning and that good smoke flavor, was juicy but maybe it sat in au jus or beef broth, which took away the smokiness from the meat? ), rib piece (flat part of the rib, overly seasoned; my husband ordered the 3 meat combo and said his actual rib wasn't overly seasoned so maybe it was just the flat piece I received), smoked sausage, & pulled pork. I ordered the green beans & red skinned potato salad, reminded me of Publix's with some added mustard, to make a smaller meal as I wasn't that hungry. This filled me up and I packed up the pulled pork to go. It wasn't not dried out like some pulled pork can be. It gave the full flavor of pulled pork. I ordered an old fashioned, cause why not? It seemed like a better choice to go with barbecue than the Arnold Palmer I wanted to order with all the sugar. ‍ It was smoked and the bartender, Josie, also our server, allowed me to remove the top when I felt the drink had enough smoke, which I appreciated. As an old fashioned snob I'd recommend getting true craft ice & not using maraschino cherries. BUT the price point for everything, even the drinks is considerably lower than we'd expect; but we're used to Atlanta & TX prices for barbecue. ‍ No, seriously, the prices are low; no complaints there. AND they offer military discount. Oh and you get a discount if you pay with cash. His 3 meat combo included the ribs, brisket, & smoked sausage. He wanted chicken but they only had white meat. His brisket rivals barbecue restaurants. He was open to giving them another try. He said he really wanted to taste the smoke flavor, not just smell it from the pit outside. We ordered the same sides. They brought out white bread, usually by request and also some butter. That was a 1st for me. The bread wasn't the softest but it was probably on the line or near it exposed to heat, which dried it out In guessing?. I ordered the praline pecan pie. It was very tasty. Think caramel added to pecan pie w/o big pecan halves, More like pieces, and topped with whipped cream and praline pecan pieces. Delicious. Initially I thought it was too sweet but it was so good i kept eating it and once he tried it, my husband had several bites too. It's not even that big slice of pie. lol Josie provided great customer service, constantly refilling my husband's water, checking on us, & providing recommendations. The restroom was clean. It was decorated maybe from the 4th of July or for the Labor Day weekend. It seemed quite spacious as there was an area that was closed beyond the bar and smaller restaurant seating area. The TVs have closed captioned. I said we needed to give them another try when it wasn't 45-60 minutes before closing. So we'll do that. It was decent.
