A longtime Mobile staple, TP Crockmiers is providing consistently delicious food and service in the LoDa District. How do I know? We've visited once a month since fall pre-symphony usually during brunch rush. With seating upstairs and downstairs in the beautifully paneled dining rooms, the pub feel is inviting and relaxing for friends and families to gather. Our favorites are drinks and apps, and must do's include: The Mango Mai Tai, Peach Bellini, Cosmopolitan, and various Margaritas. Full bar and specialty brunch cocktails are available on their website. The menu is American and extensive! We always start with our favorite fried mushrooms and horseradish dip, and their nachos are yummy too. Brunch favorites include shrimp and grits (creamy and satisfying,) crab cake benedict (yum,) and their french toast (we cleaned the plates!) They are also known for their Monte Cristo (we upgraded to their perfect onion rings side) and both were delicious. The sandwich included a honey mustard sauce on the side. With a full bar, your drink options are excellent and the servers here are hardworking and always accommodate our short pre-symphony time frame. That's much appreciated! Their sweet tea is delicious also!

The wait for my food was just too long for what I ordered. I got in, and no one was there to greet me on what to do.. do I just sit at a table? Do I need to alert someone I am here. It was a bit miss organized. I told the guy what I wanted, and I didn't get what I read on the menu. The green salad with croutons and cucumbers. I got bacon and no croutons... I paid almost double what I thought lunch of a small salad and soup was going to be. $10. That is what I thought I would be paying, but after tipping 20%, my bill was $20. The food was okay, that's why I'm giving 3 stars the services is okay. It's a little too pricey for me. It's not okay for what you get... with $9 soup. That's just too much for me anyway

Let me just say, I would come here any day just for the fried crab claws, HOLY SMOKES! They come at very affordable prices for what they give you, and the service was fine. The waitress tended to my party of 7 for my sisters birthday, and treated us like a family! This is a more fine dining experience, so I would absolutely get dressed for the occasion. The drinks are at reasonable prices for the scale of the restaurant, and they were all made very well. The charbroiled oysters were immediately advertised as soon as we sat down, and of course we indulged! They were done the Rockefeller way, and it did not disappoint! I would absolutely bring the family here for a special occasion anytime.

Attended a tea party here today to celebrate my granddaughter who is graduating next week. The food was wonderful, especially the dill pickle appetizer. I had the crab three egg omelet with cheese grits which was tasty and more than I could eat. Our waitress was great! She checked on our group of 11 often to see if we needed anything. The staircase was perfect as it gave us a great place to take pictures. I will be back!

I ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters. Half were not done, they were all flavorless. Not worth $30. I also ordered the shrimp pasta. It was supposed to be Gulf Shrimp sautéed in butter and white wine over pasta. Absolutely horrible. The shrimp was tiny and not deveined. The flavor was literally salt. If I come back here I will stick to a sandwich. Those looked decent.

We LOVED the service and food we are visiting from Georgia and chose this place because of the scenery downtown.

Service was great. Eliot was very attentive and hard working. He had a lot of good recommendations and food came out quickly. I was surprised he remembered everything we ordered without writing it down - a server skill for sure! 3 stars because we only ordered an appetizer and a side salad, so don't have much to write about. The pickles were amazing, but on the menu it said they came with celery, but didn't as we got it. The salad we got was alright. As a vegetarian, they didn't have any options for bacon/chicken protein substitute like tofu or something which was a little disappointing. Rose and Pinot Noir were tasty, but glasses were a bit small.

Nachos, the chili is to write home to momma about... WOW

I'm enough of an oyster snob that I felt the need to belly up to the oyster bar and do it right. So flipping good and SO huge I didn't need much for dinner and these were more than plenty! Young man's Dad was also at the bar and had a nice chat with both. One star for the hush puppies…read more One star for our friendly server. Sadly, I can only give two stars to Wintzell's House in Mobile, Alabama. I should've listened to all of the advice from the locals on Reddit, who warned me that this place has fallen on harder times. The char grilled oysters were funky. I ate them but worried as I ate them. The hush puppies earned a star. They were pretty tasty. The were my favorite thing on the table. However, we asked for butter, and our server gave us packets of butter substitute. Doesn't this restaurant have real butter? The gumbo was fairly tasteless and also, they had chopped up whatever seafood was in there so finely that it all just turned into mush. If there was any seafood in there, I sure didn't taste it. The West Indies crab salad was a shocking disappointment. It was a scoop of crab meat, which they ruined by mixing it up with mayo. That's it. An ice cream scoop of canned crab meat mixed with heavy mayo. It's like they didn't even try. The bread pudding left very little impression. It was a little rectangular square. Our server misunderstood us when we said we wanted it topped with ice cream, and served the bread pudding alongside a bowl of five scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. It was a very odd dessert situation, but we worked our way through it. Our server was an amusing fella. He kinda/sorta made the evening. Overall, I'm glad I went so I could know for myself. However, I do wish that I had listened to the locals on Reddit.
