    Salad with grilled shrimp

Prompt pleasant service, clean, bright dining room. Shrimp salad: nicely seasoned shrimp hot off the grill atop a salad of shredded iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, purple onion, dill pickle slices, and grated cheese. Added a side of red beans and rice- delicious, smoky flavor (although I didn't find any meat.). Enjoyed it!

If you're looking for authentic Southern comfort food in Mobile, Alabama, Sam's Southern Eatery is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm Southern hospitality and the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared dishes. My husband went with the small seafood gumbo and it was a really good! I opted for the grilled chicken salad. The portion was enough for a second meal. The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming--perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone craving a taste of the South. Overall, Sam's Southern Eatery delivers on every level: delicious food, hearty portions, and a true Southern experience. It's no wonder this spot has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. If you're in Mobile, don't miss out--Sam's Southern Eatery is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise!

Tried this for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. The interior is nothing special and comes across as just a fast food restaurant. You order at the counter and service your own drinks. This is fine for a quick lunch. The service at the counter was friendly and helpful A++. The food was very reasonable, I ordered grilled fish and shrimp which came with 2 sides for about $10. It included grilled onions and peppers and a small "salad". Everything was delicious and I will be back.

Decided on takeout at Sam's Southern Eatery. I ordered the family platter of 20x shrimp - grilled, red beans & rice, and jalepeno poppers. For our first ever meal in Alabama, this restaurant was amazing and on point! We ordered for pickup and drove there 10 minutes later to find our order was ready.

Food was good, I thought it was all Southern Food & Seafood, but you can get burgers, sandwiches, & salads as well. This location used to be the Taco Bell on Dauphin Street, I think it has been open for 1-2 years, first time getting food here. My sister got a Double Cheese Burger Meal with Hush Puppies, my husband and I both got the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Food was good, the Red Beans & Rice were great. The Shrimp Gumbo was awesome, sorry my picture does not do it justice. I think Sam's Southern Eatery is a small chain based out of Louisiana, which has the best food, in my opinion. There were fountain Coca Cola Products, Sweet Tea & Unsweetened Tea that is brewed. We went inside to order, the menu seemed larger than what was available on the website. The drive thru is always busy. Just a FYI you might want to ask them to go easy on the mayonnaise on your sandwich.

Handsdown, this is some of the best seasoned fried and grilled seafood in Mobile Alabama. The red beans and rice were so flavorful as well as the green beans. Must place to go.

I'd passed it a few times while driving on Airport Boulevard. I was working from home so I went there on my lunch break. When I walked inside I saw a few patrons sitting at tables. There was a a buffet style counter set up with the work staff behind it. Each of them greeted me as I walked toward the counter. I was asked what I wanted and I said thought instantly about the fried chicken I saw. I ordered that and the meal comes with three sides and cornbread as well. I chose mac and cheese, black eyed peas, and mash potatoes and gravy. The server rung me up and I took my plate to go. I can't remember the first thing I tasted when I got home. I believe it was the mac and cheese. It doesn't really matter. The sides were really good. Mac and cheese is usually my favorite side but I thoroughly enjoyed the black eyed peas. Don't get me wrong the mac and cheese was excellent but the peas were superb. The mash potatoes were creamy and the gravy was savory. The cornbread was the type that had the pieces of corn in it. I liked it. Now the main course was of course the chicken. It really looked and tasted like authentic homemade fried chicken. I loved the seasoning on the chicken. It was some of the best chicken I've had in a while. I definitely want to come back.

You ever walk into a place and immediately think, "Yep... this is either going to be amazing or I'm…read moreabout to make a terrible decision"? Welcome to Judy's Place. Because this spot is not pretending to be anything. This is full-on, unapologetic dive. And I mean that in the best possible way. You walk in and it's like the '70s, '80s, and a little bit of someone's '90s basement bar all got together and said, "Let's not change a thing." Old banquet-style tables, a bar top that feels like it's hosted a thousand stories, and walls that have clearly seen some things. I loved it immediately. Now let's talk food. The folks next to me were deep into the chicken and dumplings and talking about it like it was a life event. You know that kind of table chatter where you start reconsidering your order mid-bite? Yeah, that. I went shrimp po' boy... and no regrets. Shrimp fried just right. Crispy, flavorful, doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Solid sandwich. The fries... eh, they showed up a little tired. Not terrible, just kind of there. A little cold, a little soggy, like they'd already had a long day. But here's the twist. You don't come to Judy's for perfection. You come for personality. For the feeling that you just discovered a place that doesn't care about trends, doesn't need a remodel, and definitely isn't chasing Instagram. It just is what it is... and somehow that works. Fold this into your expectations. If you need polished, keep driving. If you want real, pull up a chair. It's fun. It's different. It's got character for days. Four stars. And honestly, half the star is just for staying exactly the same all these years.
