Got recommended by a friend, and this place is solid, good portions for price, it got me full real quick. I recommend the Katsu burrito even though it's not listed on the menu. So I recommend that. Inside is small with a few seating, but this is definitely a takeout place.

How I heard of this place: In 2018, when my in-laws were visiting, they took us out for lunch at this place they discovered near their AirBnB. What a fun find! Type of cuisine: Teriyaki and Asian/Mexican/American fusion. Ambiance: A little strip mall hole in the wall, with cute decor - toy cars lining the walls painted to resemble a highway. Run of the mill table and chairs grace the linoleum floors and space reminiscent of an upgraded fast food establishment. The toy cars were a fun addition and gave something to look at while eating. What I ordered: Chicken, Beef & Shrimp Combo Plus ($6.99), with a side of sticky rice and lettuce (salad). What I loved: All of it! The flavors were wonderful, the food comforting and the staff friendly. Why I loved it: It was a yummy meal shared by family in a new spot that we look forward to returning to - now that I remember it. Cost: Low ($5.49 - $6.99 per entree)

Decent size teriyaki restaurant. Good portion on the meat for the price I paid for. Convenient enough next to Safeway, but could be hard to find if you aren't really looking

I know this place for their teriyaki burritos and it was a popular location a years back in high school. This review focuses on the burrito highlight not the entire menu. Haven't visited in a while but came back recently for the spicy chicken teriyaki burrito. When perfect, these are heaven. When the care and love isn't there, it's obvious and reminds me of any other burrito. Comes with fried rice, chicken teriyaki, and lettuce. First thoughts back - the value has gone down, the burritos are fairly small and look like half of a burrito for around $6.50 now? Chipotle burritos might be calling if i'm thinking about comparing value. We got 3 spicy burritos, one per person. One of them was perfect, the sauce was present and evenly spread. The other two, however, lacked sauce. They had little highlights with dabbles of sauce, but other than that tasted and looked like fried rice wrapped in a tortilla. Consistency was questionable and disappointing. Being given a side of sauce to personally dip or use would be nice in scenarios like this. It is a nostalgic location and potentially a one time problem, but having not been in a while, was not the best experience. That being said, I think trying a teriyaki burrito is an experience everyone deserves as it is a beautiful blend when done right. I have no other locations to compare the combination to at the moment.

The decor of Highway Teriyaki is really interesting. Toy cars hanging from the ceiling, license plates on the walls, dozens of dirty hand prints all over the windows and piles of dirty dishes and handwritten signs stuck by the menu really stuck in my brain. Even though I dined there, my food was put in to go cartons and I saw that the same occurred with everyone else staying there. Then I saw a sign that they were hiring for a dishwasher. The chicken teriyaki that I ordered was missing the salad but I didn't bother saying anything because the gal working the counter looked really overwhelmed taking orders and passing out food. The teriyaki itself was all right but the rice seemed a couple hours old, sticking together and not hot. No sauce either on the meat. Food: 2 Service: 2 Ambiance: 1 Parking: 4

My friends suggested we come here for dinner because they wanted me to try the chicken teriyaki burrito. I was a bit skeptical because I thought it'd be an overload of rice and tortilla, but was super pleasantly surprised by how well balanced and tasty the whole thing was. The wrap was a pretty good size, difficult to finish on my own but I managed We also shared an order of gyoza, which were super crispy just the way I like. This place also has FREE egg drop soup!!! I loved that little touch and was all around really impressed.

Honestly, I'm very picky about teriyaki places because they can be so bland. And just nothing special. My husband turned me on to this place because his co workers go here for lunch constantly. It is delicious! He orders in Korean for us and the little lady at the front is super sweet. I love their teriyaki salmon and orange chicken. The soup to eat while you wait or eat there is delicious too. 5 stars definitely~

I love everything; perhaps the octopus could be cooked a little longer to tenderize more. I love the crunchiness from it, and the crunchiness from the black mushroom too. Maybe the chef can find a way to achieve just enough tenderness while still being crunchy, which would be perfect. Another thing, my bowl looks burned on the edges. Kudos to all staff! They can accommodate big groups, as they had 2 different large groups at the same time, but those took up a lot of tables because the restaurant isn't that spacious. The combos are a good option if you have people to share with and/or multiple people are hungry. The portions are enough for more than one meal, and the prices reflect that. We ordered boiled dumplings and the friends combo A with jajung, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk (M). The bowls of jajung and jjamppong are huge, but I didn't notice any meat in the jajung. The jajung was basically noodles, brown sauce, and onions. It was tasty, but disappointing that it looked and tasted vegetarian. The jjamppong was tasty because it was garlicky and slightly spicy. I was surprised to see the boiled dumplings were basically tiny wontons in clear broth. They need to update their menu description because I was expecting dry and regular sized dumplings. The tangsuyuk was very crispy, and I'm glad they served the goopy sauce separately.

It is their specialty and they do it well, from the skin to the fillings. In my opinion, they are much better than dough zone. However, their pot stickers, steamed, and boiled ones, are all the same type, so be aware not to order too many dumplings, mix in some noodle or pancakes dishes to avoid one note. My only complaint to the menu is they don't offer much wide veggie dishes. The only thing is the cucumber salad, which is only a ok dish.
