We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer which had the perfect crunch. For our main entrees we shared the duck, shrimp chow mein, and the dry-fried string beans. Everything was amazing. The best chow mein I've ever had to be honest. The dry-fried string beans were the star of the show as they were so flavorful and delicious! Such an amazing experience. What a great find for dim sum and Asian fare! So much better all around from Triumph -- better prices, hot food right from the kitchen, great flavors, really nice servers. Since it was our first time, we ordered a lot, knowing we would have leftovers. Had the fried pork buns, the boiled beef and onion dumplings, the sesame balls, shumai steamed, orange chicken, chow mein, green beans and oil sticks. My oh my, what a feast and we brought home as much as we ate! I would say the winners were the beef and onion dumplings and the green beans (OMG I could have just ordered these and made a meal of them!)-- but other stand outs were the shumai, and the orange chicken. I think you can skip the oil sticks, (kind of bread like with out a lot of flavor), and would go with the hunan noodles instead of the chow main. The fried pork buns were doughy with out very much meat inside. All in all, a great place. Will definitely go back! We came here on a lark, being a little over a mile away after morning appointment. We read the reviews, Chinese food sounded good, so we came by. We were not disappointed. Definitely a no frills place, but it's family run and the food is good. We arrived around 12:45 on a Sunday, at the end of the lunch rush wave. Worked out really well: our server Frank sat us right away, we ordered, and were eating our first dishes within minutes. Perfect! Because we were starving! I had a hankering for pork bao, which I hadn't had in a long time. They were decent. My girlfriend is vegetarian, so all other dishes were vegetarian: dry-fried string beans, general Tso's tofu, and hot and sour food. More than enough for the two of us, and very good and satisfying. Note: General Tso's is usually made with chicken and we asked if it could be made with tofu instead. They had no problem with the request. Portions are ginormous, so bring your appetite! read more

We were craving some Chinese/Sichuan cuisine and stumbled upon this restaurant. The ambience was casual and felt like a typical Chinese spot seemingly family owned. As soon as we were seated, we were served jasmine tea and water. I really appreciated the tea, especially since it was cold and rainy outside it was very comforting. The menu is extensive, and you can order either through the staff or by scanning a QR code. We chose to order via the QR code and got the spicy dan dan noodles, pork soup dumplings, and spicy wontons in chili sauce. The noodles were excellent I loved the flavor and texture. They were soft and well-seasoned. The portion sizes were generous as well: the wontons came with 12 pieces, and the dumplings had 10. The wontons were especially flavorful, and the chili sauce complemented them perfectly. The pork soup dumplings were decent, though not our favorite compared to the other dishes. I ordered food for pick up from here. I got 4 different things for 2 people and we ended up having leftovers. I got an order of steamed buns, wontons with chili sauce, boiled dumplings with beef and onion and their house special chow mein. I enjoyed the wontons with chili sauce a lot and ended up adding the chili sauce to the other dumplings. The boiled dumplings were very flavorful as well as the steamed buns. Came here on a weekday night. This is a little hole in the wall place, no frills, family owned, nothing fancy but good food. Given that this is called xiaolongbao house, we should have tried the soup dumplings, but since there were two of us, we got the stir fried green beans and spicy boiled fish (shuijiuyu) as well as some white rice. The spicy boiled fish was DELICIOUS: so spicy, flavorful, with generous portions. The green beans had good flavor but I wish they were crispier. We had a ton of leftovers. One of the best restaurants I have tried in some time. The front staff is very welcoming, the place have ample of parking outside. We went there for a Friday dinner and were seated pretty quickly. You can order using the scanner but they also give menus to look. We order the soup dumplings, spicy wontons and noodles and everything was delicious. The also give complementary jasmine tea. They are always consistent with their food too so we know what to expect everything time we come here. They have a good selection of Szechuan dishes; despite the name being Xiaolongbao, I don't think this place's signature is actually xiaolongbao (small dumplings) but their wide range of Szechuan dishes. There's plenty of parking in this strip mall and I love how a majority of items have pictures so you know what you're getting. XLB: Meaty and only pork inside! There wasn't much juice inside but the dish itself was delicious. Pan fried pork bun: The favorite of the meal. The buns are perfectly crispy on the bottom and there's a little bit of juice inside. The meat is juicy, lean, and only has pork inside. Sautéed tofu (tofu in brown sauce): The fungus was the star of the dish as it really took in the flavors of the sauce. So really there isn't any negatives about this place, except if you come here at the wrong hour, it's super busy. Okay, with that in mind, this is totally our go-to Chinese restaurant now. They have all the bits and bobs you would want, they have dumplings, they have noodles, they have rice, meat, soups, and all the things you expect from a place that is probably run by some Chinese family, like generous portions, and yes it feel pricy, but it isn't when you realized you have takeaways for tomorrow, and they have plenty of takeaway boxes ready for you. The ambiance is slightly noisy, but only because people are enjoying the their food, and enjoying the company of the people next to them, and there isn't much else that you would want. I would recommend the dumplings on the menu, they have soup dumplings, but they also have all sorts of the fried, potsticker style stuff, they have a few dim sum dishes, in case you are looking for that. They have noodle soups, and even Orange Chicken, which looks like someone genuinely took oranges, orange juice and made a sauce. If it's premade, I couldn't tell the difference, because I have had so many variants of that in my years of living, that this version tastes pretty darn close to the top. okay, well, shoot, now I'm going to have to figure out when to come here again, because the secret is out. read more

The menu here encompasses a lot of Chinese cuisine. There's dumplings, Sichuan, Hunan, Americanized Chinese food (kung Pao, Mongolian beef, etc.), and even more all in one place. I can't do peppercorns, so I stick with the less spicy items. The special fried eggplants and peppers with preserved eggs is a must try and unique dish. It's really oily and greasy, but tastes good. I don't like the tall wooden container it comes in, though. They let us mash it more ourselves, but I feel like this dish tastes better without mashing it. I like the veggies in the Chongqing fish dish, but they also get really oily from the broth. The fish fillets with pickled cabbage in broth comes with a lot of very soft fish and nice pickled flavors. The "spiciness" seems to be from white pepper, so it's not too bad if you can handle a little bit of spice. There were noodles at the bottom, which I wasn't expecting. The sauteed cumin beef had strong cumin flavors and a good texture for beef. The sauteed yams with black fungus are kind of goopy, but it was okay because I like black fungus. I always like spicy wontons, so I had to order those over dumplings. I would order the wontons again, but I probably prefer to go to Little Tings for actual dumplings and buns because they're slightly cheaper and have more options (different meats, veggie combos) and customizations (Pan fried, steamed, boiled). On another day, I ended up ordering pork fried buns and Boiled dumplings with minced beef and onion for take out, which were both good. The buns are sort of "petite", so I like that there's 8 of them. I prefer the sauces from Little Ting's because theirs is garlicky and has more substance to it (less oil), while the ones here are mostly hot oil with some chili. I could feel the hot oil on my mouth because it was dripping/spreading everywhere. read more

Picked up some togo for dinner (truth be told we order take out from them almost weekly). Love their Mao Xue Wang. I call it treasure soup since it has blood, intestines, tripe, black fungus, mung bean sprouts, spam, and fish in a mala broth. Although the heat and ma is inconsistent the components are always tasty. We also love their dry pot intestines which is crispier dine in but still good togo. I love the ginger slivers with the crunchy exterior and tender interior of the intestines along with the tasty wok hei on the celery and mung bean sprouts. Their dumplings are made in house and the filling is super good and flavorful. I loved their pan fried buns too- the filling was like the dumplings and the bottoms were crispy. Seafood tofu pot was good, I especially liked the tofu and the fish pieces. The rice noodles were a table favorite and a good switch up from the normal chow mein with thinner noodles. Lastly, the beef had good flavor and I liked how the pieces weren't too big. Portion sizes are generally large and I appreciate the service. The waitress was really friendly and remembers customers. It's rare for me to give a 5 star review but I think this place deserves it. We came on a Sunday for lunch and it was pretty busy but we were seated pretty quickly even with a party of 9. I particularly liked the cauliflower dish and the fried tofu in the sizzling plate dish. I also liked the pan fried xiao long bao. I would love to try the eggplant next time. Also I bought their frozen dumplings and I think it's a great deal. Though they do have some msg in it, price wise is very reasonable. It's $35 for 50 dumplings as of 11/23/24. Also when I boiled them at home they were HUGE so that's a plus. I'm from Bellevue but I'd make the drive to shoreline just for the frozen dumplings even. It was that good. I was looking for restaurants that had xiaolongbaos, and this was one of the first locations that I found (probably because it had xiaolongbao in the name lol), but I'm happy we have a place like this in Seattle! I went with two of my friends during a quiet afternoon, we were one of the only groups there during the time we went. We all decided to eat family style and ordered some xiaolongbaos with a few other dishes like a spicy chicken dish and some noodles. The xiaolongbaos were pretty good, but I wished there was a bit more soup in them. Other dishes were mediocre but still comforting. Quick service and a nice interior. I plan to come back again soon when I am in the mood for xiaolongbaos. Better to eat here and support a small business than one of the more expensive dumpling chains in the city. read more

We went on a Thursday night, party of 5. It was not busy and we got sat at a big table with a turn table in the middle, right away. Which I saw this as a good sign. My friends pretty much let me order the whole menu, I feel, but it was all delicious! We ordered: - dry fried green beans - chili salt fried tofu - honey walnut shrimp - pan fried pork buns - steamed bbq pork buns - shrimp dumplings - vegetarian fried rice - xiao long bao - shumai - dan dan noodles And our bill for 5 ppl was under $150 total. I loved the fried tofu and shrimp dishes, but everything was really good! I feel like it's so hard for restaurants like these to survive in the greater Seattle area, but I hope this one lasts. Would definitely go back for the Hu'nan style rice noodles! And the service is good and really friendly and helpful. We try four dishes here, all were surprisingly good. Hu'nan style rice noodles look nothing like the picture from the menu. I think the menu picture one looks more like a regular Cantonese/Hongkong/Singaporean style rice noodles. This turns out my favourite one. The noodles are a well balance of soft and chewiness, not too dry as well. It's savory with little spiciness, the pickle cabbage in it really brings extra flavor to the noodles. Sautée pork with chili pepper was 90% authentic. I think the biggest difference is that they use local chili pepper not the real Hu'nan chili peppers. But it's still tasty. The pork is nicely and thinly sliced so even the fat part isn't that fatty. String beans is always my tester dish when going to a new Chinese restaurant t the featuring Sichuan/Chongqing/Hu'nan/Hubei/Beijing cuisine. This one doesn't fail me as well. Savory and fragrant, so good to eat with rice. Plain pan fried bun isn't 'plain' and I think there is some translation errors on the menue. It's vegetable baozi. The skin is so crispy when it's freshly served. Be careful not to burn your mouth when biting it. I can taste there are cabbage and tofu in the stuffing. A hit and miss. Their name is xiaolongbao house but their xiaolongbao did not have any soup and only taste of pork and thick wrappers. They boiled dumplings were much more juicy and flavorful. The boiled chicken w/ Sichuan pepper was tender but bland. Hunan fried rice tastes like it was only rice and salt. Salt and pepper tofu was our favorite, crispy outside, soft inside, and nice spiced flavor. Green beans were good, can't go wrong with that at most Chinese restaurants. Boiled fish fillet in chili sauce was also one of our favorite, tender and flavorful. Ordered the hunan fried rice for friends who can't eat pork, when asked if it had any meat, they said no, but we received fried rice that had spam in them. Language barrier most likely played a role, would not recommend calling in to order, try their app instead. The restaurant was spacious and clean. There are a couple tables with lazy Susan that's good for family. Although we had a wait a while until our tea was refilled. Our party of 8 dined here tonight but we will never return again. The main reason is because of poor food handling we witnessed. My daughter can see into the kitchen where she was seated; she alerted us to what looked like a duck or chicken wrapped in a plastic bag being cooked or defrosted in a microwave. Last I checked, you're not suppose to put plastic in the microwave! During our meal, we noticed other plastic containers used in the microwave. We also saw a guy making dumplings with his bare hands and no mask. I now understand why this restaurant's health score is only OK. 90% of the items on the menu were spicy. We ordered quite a number of dishes and found the mapo tofu pretty good with a nice light numbing spice, the spicy pig ear salad to be delicious (thick cut), and sautéd green beans to be flavorful. What fell a little short was the lack of soup in the xiaolong bao and the lack of ingredients in the hot and sour soup. Just from the name, you'd not think that this is a place specialized in Sichuan/Hunan food. I've honestly never tried their XLB because I really don't see a point of doing so. My parents found it to be a bit too greasy, but they also don't have the context of the overall bar of Chinese food in Seattle. I was visiting Seattle recently, and 6 of us tried this restaurant somewhat on a whim. Despite the name, and despite having decent xiao long bao on the menu, this restaurant seems to specialize more in Hunan and Sichuan food. There were some really excellent dishes, and this was one of the best Chinese meals I'd had in a long time. Highlights: * fried eggplant with preserved egg (served in a mortar/pestle bowl). Really good flavors, and this dish is not super common so we were excited to see it. * cauliflower pork dry pot -- thin smoked pork slices added nice flavor to the thin pieces of cauliflower * shredded pork in sweet bean sauce -- maybe a tad too sweet? But still quite good, served w/ plain white bao on the side. * salt and pepper fried tofu - the tofu inside was medium or soft, with a nice crispy shell. Excellent. * Changsha rice noodle -- slippery noodles in a spicy ma-la dressing, with various veggies and pickled long beans. Very good. * Salted egg crispy rice -- I'm not a huge fan of salted-egg flavor, so it wasn't my favorite, but others in my group really liked this. We also had xiao long bao which were decent though nothing super special. Also some sauteed Chinese lettuce w/ garlic, which was totally fine.
