They have good coffee. The people who work here are nice and it is nice and clean. I wish they had more seating inside, but that's not a deal breaker. I do like this space better than I did when they were located next door.

    Almond milk latte
    Laura E.

I had been to Highwire over a decade ago when they were at Market Hall. Today was my first time at their new location. Almond milk latte was great and I loved the heart. Though I didn't try any of the pastries this time, I noticed 3rd culture donuts, which I'd get in the future. The baristas are friendly and efficient - there were a lot of people coming and going and they seemed to be able to get people's orders quickly. They also have a rewards program. The reason this review is 4 rather than 5 stars is that they don't have WiFi. Most coffee shops I go to have it and this is important to me as I work remotely. I would definitely come back to meet up with friends but go elsewhere to get work done.

The Core Espresso, Cortado, Sparkling water

I got The Core Espresso and a cortado with almond milk. The espresso had the right texture and crema but a slightly burnt taste. The cortado was well balanced and the almond milk helped with espresso taste. I'd probably give them another shot if I was in the area because the service was great and maybe it was just a bad pull.

i am disappointed to update this review however, it has come to my attention via witnessing & not crossing a picket line EVER!!!!!! i can no longer say highwire reps my CORE values the vibes are no longer good and i am really sad... honestly i suspected when the brand changed SO drastically- oh em geeeee the new packaging is ugly & very *tech ai coffee bot* attempting to appeal to a south bay / SF crowd?! idk but your home is in oakland so when that happened i honestly just started slowly transitioning to "ain't normal cafe" across rockridge bart station AND NOW: to see workers striking bc *corporate* is expanding , destroying a brand & community reputation but not able to pay employees & treat employees with respect? if you're treating your employees poorly then you'll treat your customers poorly i no longer feel comfortable carrying my VINTAGE merch : sweatshirt & coffee mug; i no longer give highwire as goodies in my gift baskets until the workers are happy- im avoiding all highwire spaces solidarity with workers, d.

Allspice Latte -- warm, frothy, creamy and perfect for fall. The flavor of the spices, that did not over power the drink. It felt nice and balanced. Sarsaparilla Spritzer -- sparkling espresso flavor overpowered the drink, the root beer flavor wasn't as strong. Blueberries + Spiced Pastry Cream Danish -- flakey, not warmed up.

Baristas explained that they are up for trying different and sometimes unusual combinations for their customers. I wasn't adventurous this time, but it made me want to explore in the future. I came here to work, hoping for a relatively warm and cozy spot that wasn't too sleepy. I was not disappointed. The wifi was good, music was fun and unobtrusive. Decorations and layout gave a friendly, welcoming environment. Not only were the benches and padded chairs comfy, the ambiance was kept even in the bathroom. Spacious, warm lighting, cute bathroom with a great mirror and cool sink. I don't ever ding places for hospital-looking bathrooms (you know, fluorescent lights, questionable floors, sand paper toilet paper...) but this was one of the few where I was impressed. Good to know: Jaffa cakes are only available on the weekend Parking: Some of the streets nearby are resident-only parking so make sure to double check!

I took an Uber which dropped me in front of the correct building location, however, I had in minds eye remembering seeing a coffee shop in the Salesforce Park so I inadvertently went to that coffee shop. WRONG! After realizing my mistake, I texted my colleague and we were able to connect IRL on Andytown Coffee Roasters on the 7th floor. The shop is HUGE and since it took a few minutes to circle back my friend ordered me a medium coffee ahead of my arrival which was great given there was a long line by the time I arrived. The coffee was very nice and I appreciate the taste and warmth. After about 45 minutes we left the ACR shop and walked in the elevated Salesforce Park which is stunning urban designed. The only comment I would mention is the noise volume levels were loud given there were 20-30 people in line to order and talking. Not a big deal, we moved to two very comfortable sofas a few feet away or could have gone outside since there is many options inside and outside to enjoy the space. I took several photos of my visit and when I am back in the area will definitely go back and try their menu. Don't forget to leave time to causally stroll around the magnificent shaded garden 7 stories above the street! Enjoy!

I remembered that decision as we drove down Claremont on our way to Sweet Maria's. On our way back up, we stopped off at Souvenir Coffee for a couple of sandwiches and one coffee. The ambiance and service were top notch. Also, there's usable WiFi. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon as an add-on, and then muttered something about a macchiato. After the person taking my order repeated back my drink as a cortado, I agreed that a cortado would be an even better choice than the macchiato that I had in my mind's eye. The cortado came out first, followed not long afterwards by our sandwiches. Both the drink and the grilled cheese sandwich were excellent; we clearly had a 5-star experience. Souvenir Coffee struck me more as a drink place with a few food items than as a lunch destination. I know the high reputation of the sandwiches at the Star Grocery next door. If Souvenir is be OK with my combining an espresso drink with a Star sandwich, I'll try that next.

It was a perfectly polite request and they did explain that it was for safety reasons; still, I think it would have been a nice gesture if they had said "here's a voucher for a free beverage of your choice" next time.
