Spicy edamame-garlic forward and spice forward delicious. Pork gyoza- crispy and gyoza sauce so good yiu could drink it. Cucumber salad-saffron and lemon forward. Addicting sauce it comes with also amazing. Teriyaki salmon bento box-salmon good, white rice is white rice. Salud ginger dressing good. Gyoza good. California roll good. Shoyu ramen spicy level 5-super flavorful could have been spicier, but needed a little acidity. Asked for side of lime, but they don't carry lime only lemon. Overall delicious still. Delicious ramen spot in Addison. Pricing is on the higher end but consider the location being 2-3 miles from the Galleria filled with expensive restaurants, this is not too bad. The noodles taste a tad like Chinese egg noodles instead of the wheat noodles at my familiar ramen spot in Austin. The pork is marinaded and has good meat and fat ratio. The egg is marinaded properly with a nice blend of saltiness and sweetness. It also contains pickled veggies, bamboo shoots and aromatic roasted garlic. I added level 2 spicy (level 1-3 spicy is free) and it had a nice heat. For those who can't handle too much heat but still want a little kick, I recommend level 1 spicy. Takoyaki is fantastic - 5 balls per order. We also ordered fried squid legs for appetizer and it added a nice crunch to the whole meal. The restaurant is cozy and clean. Tried Higuma Ramen and Izakaya and it was a solid spot. I got the black tonkotsu udon and liked that the broth wasn't too salty. The udon noodles were nice and chewy. I like my broth pipping hot and wished the broth was hotter! The highlight for me was the spicy tuna crispy rice. Rice was crispy in outside and chewy on inside. Def order. Food was amazing, and let's start by saying Alvin's service( The Chef) was amazing checked on us constantly, recommended their new Spicy Garlic beef ramen after we ordered our usual spicy garlic ramen with chicken. Wanted us to really give it a try and gave us a sample which was amazing for him to do because he didn't have to and I must say it's better than the regular spicy chicken garlic ramen and the quantity of beef was exceptional. My friends and I got Higuma yesterday for dinner as it was in a convenient location for us. I tried this place a few years ago and it looks similar with the individual seating areas on the side. There are also booths and tables for group dining. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Tuesday night and it was more on the quieter side. The service here was good, they checked in on us multiple times during our visit. I ordered the spicy garlic beef ramen and I was a big fan of it. Normally I would stick to a tonkotsu ramen whenever I visit a ramen restaurant but I love beef noodle soups. The beef was nice and tender and the broth had a lot of garlic (which I enjoyed). I feel like this bowl was the perfect amount of food and great for cold nights like yesterday! I will definitely be back to try their tonkotsu ramen and other izakaya offerings. read more

My husband had hamburg curry with omelette and it was amazing.. the tempura was fresh and delicious and probably one of the best tempura vegetable dishes I've had. Don't underestimate the importance of fresh and well prepared tempura vegetable.... It's so so good!! Holy moly. I didn't think I'd be saying this after coming here on a whim, but I legitimately think this is the best ramen I've had outside Japan. So before I say anything else - if you like ramen, GO HERE. We walked in on a slow weekday and were pleasantly surprised by the large, well-decorated area of the place. There's even single-diner private booths, which is something I haven't seen any other ramen places around here have! We were greeted immediately and checked on very often, probably the best customer service I've had in a while at a restaurant. But we didn't take too long to decide what we wanted - we were locked in on wanting ramen. You guys, I can't tell you just how perfect this ramen was for my personal taste - just the right balance of flavors, excellently cooked proteins between my partner's duck ramen and the chashu in mine, and the ideal amount of noodles to broth. Their menus are not up to date on their website and neither are their physical menus at the restaurant. They no longer have gluten-free noodles or onigiri. They also do not have ANY GF alternatives for soy sauce, which is so strange! Needless to say, this is not a GF friendly restaurant so be aware. Overall, despite the many things they don't have, the food tasted good and the staff were great. But I don't think I'll be returning strictly due to my diet. read more

We were craving ramen, and it was time to check out a new spot. Ther service is slow so try not to go too hungry there will be a wait. The decor is pretty, and I love they have a solo dining area. I do intend to return check out some other options they have. Their menu is pretty extensive which is better than most Ramen shops. Appetizer: Kamonegi $9.00 Roast Duck Japanese style served chilled with side of green onions and Japanese mustard. This was a light appetizer, and the duck was very good with a bit of fat on it, I have to say the Japanese mustard was a great sauce or mixture to go with the duck. It almost tasted like a salsa with a tangy flavor to it. Lunch: Spicy Garlic Ramen $14.00 Spicy shoyu base topped with Aburi chashu, scallion, marinated egg, crispy garlic, and nori. Level of spice for the Spicy Garlic Ramen was a 3 which in my opinion was not that spicy, the noodles were like that of your typical ramen packaged version. The broth was very tasty and over all good. Kuro Kuma (Black & Red Tonkotsu Ramen) $14.00 Rich pork bone broth top with Pork chashu, scallions, wood ear, marinated egg, black garlic oil, spicy bomb, red ginger, nori, bamboo, and fried garlic. Level of spice was a 4 which was greatly appreciated but I may need to go higher to see how hot this can be. This spice did seem to come at the end of your bite. The noodles seemed so thin and light that I was surprised I was able to eat all of my bowl and not feel stuffed. I wish I had more toppings than noodles on this one just to kind of even the meal out. I will add that for extra toppings you are charged. I wasn't too fond of that concept with Ramen already being a higher priced meal starting off. Never been a huge ramen fan, it's good but never filling to me. I made a stop at Higuma with a friend, and they had ramen, I had the Chicken Katsu. It was great! Also cheap beer was a plus as well (I think it was like 5 or 6 dollars)! Service was great, I really enjoyed that the restaurant was just chill, good music, people laughing and enjoying their meals. Having been here previously a few months ago, I wanted to give this place another try after trying a couple of ramen places in Dallas. When I entered, I was seated pretty immediately. The waitress came by and asked a few times if I was ready to order after giving me a water. She was the only one at the front of the restaurant and pretty responsive. I ordered a Spicy Garlic Ramen (spice level 4) and replaced the Pork Chashu with Chicken Chashu. It was around $14, which is around the same price as other places I've been. The broth was rich and definitely had some spice. When you choose your spice level, be cognizant of the fact that it is more than other places so I would choose one level lower. I could definitely taste the garlic in the broth. There were a few bamboo shoots and black mushrooms present as well, which added a nice flavor to the ramen. The marinated egg on top had a slight sweetness and complemented the spiciness of the broth. The nori was a nice touch and add some saltiness to the ramen. I wish I had more room to try some appetizers here. I'll have to come again with some friends and try the other dishes. read more
