We had an absolute blast with Michelle at Hilarious Hound Photography! My pup and I were exploring the annual Duboce Park Dog Festival and happened to chance upon Michelle's photography business. Right away I was captivated by her talent and skill for capturing puppies in memorable San Francisco landmarks. Having lived in SF for many years I wanted my own memories with my dear Rocket in some of my favorite places in the city. I had a standard shoot and really wanted to have my favorite places , Palace of Fine Arts, and GGB. The weather was not as friendly as it could have been, but that is SF and Michelle was a champ. She was so patient and fun with Rocket, and really made sure my pup was comfortable. We had some fun shots and Michelle really tries to get creative perspectives like when she made Rocket look as if she was coming out from under some of the gigantic foliage that surrounds the Palace. We ended up getting a photo book, a metal print, with more orders on the way. We also plan on attending her fun pop up event, the Ugly Sweater Holiday Shoot. In terms of affordability, I believe she is very affordable for those even on a modest income. Our dear pups live such brief lives and I am going to cherish the memories and pictures Michelle gave us forever. read more

Michelle at Hilarious Hounds did a fantastic job on capturing the spirit of my toy poodle (blatant plug - #toytofu to see some sample photos) on film! Pawesome +'s: + Persistent and focused. We had our shoot on a really windy day at Crissy Fields and Michelle was adamant of getting a good shot. We tried various spots and she took ample shots to find the right one and to vary the background options. + Communicative and responsive. From the beginning I got a prompt reply and a call to discuss her process. On the day of the shoot she was very patient with Tofu who didn't exactly see the merit of posing. After the shoot she reminded me when I should be able to view results. Everything was clear. + Curated and easy. On the day to view the photos, I didn't have to agonize too much over which photos to keep. Michelle already narrowed the selection and helped me decide which ones to keep in low or high res. + Pricing. Very clear on what was being charged and what were the package prices. I hate when things are not transparent. + Location options were ideal. I really wanted the Golden Gate Bridge and that location was an option. Be on notice that the weather may not comply. It is typical SF weather. + Quick turnaround. I got my photos delivered within a day or two after payment. I ordered a makeup bag that has my little dog on the front and Michelle proactively notified me of the status. + Precious and priceless photos! I was so pleased with the product. Her suggestion to have me walk with my dog on the beach with the GG bridge in the background is a photo that is a treasure to me. I simply love that photo and for it to touch my heart too says something of her skill. Overall I would gladly book Michelle for any pet photo shoot. She was very patient and kind to my pet dog. Moreover she was patient as I pondered over the photos. No pushy sales and allowed me to decide without pressure on what I wanted. Her professionalism was evident throughout the entire process. We were fortunate enough to snag a spot in a book they are producing that will benefit a local animal shelter. I feel so lucky to have found Michelle to photograph my fur-baby Holly Golightly. I'll come clean: I'm that obsessed dog mom that dresses her dog up and have an Instagram account (@gohollygolightly)to show off the all the cuteness that my pup is. So there. Now that that's out of the way, let me tell you what fun and memorable experience my BF and I had working with Michelle. I started following Michelle on Instagram (@HilariousHound) and noticed all the amazing photos that she posted. I KNEW she was the one for Holly. I contacted her via her website and we chatted over the phone a few times. We finally set the time (around sunset), date and location (Albany beach in Berkeley). Holly G is a sweet sweet dog but I haven't been the great dog owner/trainer and pretty much the only thing Holly can do it "sit". Maybe "stay" on a good day and if there's really good treat - like chicken breast. (We've been to at least 4 training classes but as I mentioned earlier, I"m a crappy dog owner.) On top of that, Holly is not food motivated when she is outside. She is a rescue and came to me very skittish, and still is to this day. So needless to say, I was a little worried about my unruly pup doing anything we wanted her to do. But, Michelle was really great with Holly - patient and prepared! She came with treats and squeaky toys. She spent couple of hours with us, getting to know Holly, scoping out the location and ultimately, we got some amazing photos. Seriously, amazing. When it came to review and pick out the photos, she came over to show us the images (which we absolutely loved)! We had a photo shoot with Michelle at Hilarious Hounds for our dog Tron's 10th birthday. She suggested Rodeo Beach as location and as our dog loves the beach, it was perfect. She was really able to capture Tron's humorous side as well as the serious side. We spent a little over an hour shooting and it was great watching her work with Tron. Tron of course enjoyed all of the attention and the large amount of treats. He was a good boy that day. Once the photos were edited she was able to meet with us and walk us through all of the amazing shots she choose. We decided to get a few really wonderful images to frame and are so happy with the results. I like to consider myself an amateur photographer so I have a ton of pictures of Tron already (@tronthedog) :), but she was able to take it to the next level. My Golden Retriever Eddie had the pleasure of working with Michelle and Hilarious Hound at the client appreciation picnic for Eddie's playgroup. Eddie, who is 13 years old, is pretty ornery in his older age and not terribly obedient, but Michelle was so patient with him and she ended up getting dozens of super sweet shots. She even brought my fiance and I into the fun for some priceless family pictures where everyone looks great and the Golden Gate Bridge peeks out of the background for a quintessential SF keepsake. Went for a holiday photo booth shoot and I couldn't be happier with the results! I have a 6mo old rambunctious puppy. Michele was very patient with him and did a great job of getting his attention. She had all sorts of noise makers and very quickly adapted to things he was most responsive to. She captured some great expressions and I absolutely LOVE her props. My puppy seemed to love them too...or at least trying to chew on them (making for even more photogenic moments!). She's a truly creative individual and does great work. I had such a great experience with Hilarious Hound and Michelle. Michelle was a total pro with my dog, Friday! Friday can be a nervous dog and tends to have a short attention span when it comes to sitting still. Friday can be hesitant with strangers and strange things, but Michelle was super patient with her and the pictures turned out incredible! Michelle was a complete champ in getting Friday to focus and flash her big doggie smile. I was impressed at how quickly Friday took to her and how she was able to capture Friday's vibrant personality. The entire shoot took about an hour, and the unique props made it such a fun experience for all of us. I recently met Michelle after a friend told me about her Photo Booth sessions...and I was blown away. I arrived a little late, but Michelle still took the time to make sure I understood the process and ensured that my furball, Rufus, was acclimated and settled in. She introduced me to the props, suggested I select a few, and by the time she was shooting, I was having a blast. Between her squeaker toys and treats (Note: Michelle is quick to ask about dog food allergies!), Michelle was able to capture my Rufus's often-wandering attention, even as I put props in front of his face and struggled to put a sweater on him. She showed me a few sneak peaks, and at the end of the shoot she let me know what to expect and when to expect it. When Michelle and I met to see the images, I couldn't believe what she was able to capture!
