We had a small leak under our dishwasher on the far side of our kitchen, and out of an abundance of…read morecaution we decided to get the sheet rock and cabinets nearest that leak tested by Austin Mold Testing before we pursued repairs of any kind. While Daniel was here, we spoke and he said that we should get the cabinets and sheet rock near the leak removed, but that the contractors should stop removing cabinets 2 feet after they stopped observing water damage. Two weeks later, when the contractors arrive, they tell me that the protocol he created *required* that they remove 100% of all our lower cabinets, across the entire kitchen, regardless of what was damage. Obviously this was not what we had discussed, so I looked through the protocol he wrote up and saw that he hadn't tested or photographed any areas other than near the leak, but still required the entire kitchen be demolished. I called Daniel to discuss this and he told me that "I know what we'll find over there." I try not to be unreasonable with this kind of stuff; I understand that he is liable for the results of these tests -- My only request to him was that he perform a single test on that far side of the kitchen to support his assumptions. Unfortunately, he told me that he would charge the full price of an entire separate inspection to perform that single test, and that I was wasting his time and my money by asking. I would personally avoid this place if you have any other options. TDLR - go talk to Daniel if you want to get told one thing in person, and discover something else entirely on paper...or perhaps if you want to take a scorched earth approach to your home repairs.

He is clearly concerned about his clients and wants to get to any mold problems. And was even willing to double check areas that I was concerned about. He is also respectful in his way of interacting. He gives you a flat quote (hallelujah! So rare to find honesty in pricing in the mold business ) that is reasonable compared to market value (I checked). And there is no changing around the pricing and no up-selling. You get the sense that you are in good hands with an honest business. He also comes when he says he's going to come. No waiting around for hours. If he makes an appointment, he shows up. Haughty recommend him.

Due to mold infestation in our HVAC system and duct work, cleaning the duct work was not a viable option. After conducting extensive online research, Fusion Environmental Engineering Group in the Austin, Texas area was selected to evaluate and test the air in our house for mold. Fusion Environmental Group provides Residential and Commercial Mold Inspections, Indoor Air Quality Inspections, Residential Asbestos Inspections, VOCs, and Formaldehyde Testing. The Austin Fusion team of Rick Weir, Mold Inspection Consultant, and Chantell Kirwyn (Tamer of Details) were outstanding in their interactions with us throughout the entire process. Rick Weir conducted extremely thorough mold and air quality inspections. Rick and Chantell are a joy to work with. I cannot say enough good things about Cary Kraft, Senior Project Manager. Cary Kraft's clear and in-depth communication throughout the project provided us with peace of mind. Cary also ensured that we would know every detail regarding the project so that there would not be any surprises. We never expected we would ever need an Environmental Engineering company in our lifetime. The Fusion team made the mold inspection and step-by-step process as painless as possible. If you are unfortunate enough to experience a mold problem that requires professional analysis, rest assured Fusion Environmental Engineering Group is the first company you should call. I highly recommend Fusion Environmental Engineering Group.

I just needed to test that it wasn't harmful mold and get it to pass. I used them because I saw they had an hourly rate, of course it was 1 hr minimum which was $300. Other places wanted to do a whole floor or multiple rooms and I needed to just test a tiny spot so $300 plus one $100 sample was better than $500+ I was being quoted. The guy comes out and takes a sample and is done in 15 minutes. The mold test comes back as "Due to the absence of supporting data, a definitive Genus could not be assigned." It also said there were particles it couldn't identify and textile fibers and it was fungal growth, which could be anything. I was told from another mold inspector that this never happens if they actually took a mold sample. So basically this wasn't mold or it def wasn't dangerous mold. In his remediation, he didn't address that this was dangerous mold. He said there was cracks in the grout so can't really tell if there is mold behind the wall. He said to pull the tub and tear down the shower and basically gut the bathroom. Everyone knows that gutting the bathroom and remodeling can easily cost 20K. I'm trying to get an approval for a home equity loan so I definitely can't afford that. I can't even afford this mold test. So he basically made a nuclear recommendation and I didn't get my loan approved. I cleaned up the bathroom and called a different inspector which is now costing me an additional $300.

I was so sick from contamination that I couldn't even physically be in my apartment during the inspection. He coordinated with me to get a key and give access to a partner who inspected my HVAC. They found copious mold in both places. Thanks to their diligence, persistence, precision, and detail, I was able to get out of my lease and secure a judgment to compensate damages to my body and property. As if this weren't enough, Tim then came to my new apartment, tested it for mold, and fogged it once I'd moved in to prevent any mold from traveling in with me. He was part of a move that probably saved my life. All these are reasons to hire Tim--but they are not the only reasons. During a very scary, uncertain, sick, and vulnerable time for me and my family, Tim was flexible, available, and kind. You would be pressed to find anyone with as much know-how and personal manner.
