The inspection report on the house done by him is by far the most thorough, comprehensive and easy to understand we have seen (and we got to read quite some inspections in search for our dream home). As a first time home buyer, everything can be really overwhelming. Alan was responsive (he was able to do the inspection with only 2 days notice), he didn't try to sell me extra services I didn't need (like termite inspection for a 3 year old property), he found even the tiniest things I never would have noticed (nor would other inspectors probably per my realtor), and spent extra time to review everything in detail to ensure I understood all the issues he found and how important each of them were. He also provided advice on how to correct some of the small things he found in my inspection myself instead of having to hire someone to do it all. I'm a first time home buyer so I know nothing of this subject. However I will review my experience. I'm having the home built so I Lmao having a phased inspection done. My builder calls me at the last minute saying I need to get my inspector out the same week. I call Taylor inspections, who are completely booked, and they still manage to fit me in the next day (off their normal schedule). The report was thorough and i got it back the same night. They caught several items that the builder is now going to fix. Im very happy with Taylor inspection and will use them for the next phase as well. read more

As a prospective first-time homeowner, it's hard to know what to expect when it comes to the particulars of an inspection. With Alan, his ability to clearly explain and elaborate on the code requirements across the board I found to be exemplary. Tagging along was indeed a learning experience, and when I had any questions, he was on point with his response, taking time to anticipate and address all relevant aspects of the concern. But at the same time, Alan is not one to use the kid gloves approach - he's getting in there to where he needs to to make his assessments. Whether it's tracing the electrical system back to the circuit breakers, testing the meters for grounding, taking readings from all different points of the HVAC, walking the roof, crawling in the attic, running through all zones of the sprinkler system, testing the plumbing and gas, all the while providing ample demonstration of things in good working order or pointing out deficiencies, it's a tremendous amount of hands-on verification and communication. Not only that, but as he related his prior work managing a quarry, it was clear there was much carry-over from that discipline to knowing what makes for a good foundation, proper stone and brickwork (he showed us where dark spots in some of the limestones used in the front of the house were mineral deposits that normally would be thrown out as sub-grade stones, and to prove it, dug out some of the soft deposits with a screwdriver). Overall, a thorough and consummate professional, and one I would gladly do business with again. PS - do some research and be informed before setting up your inspection so you can get the most out of your time with an inspector. read more
