Lambs Auto, Georgetown, used a busted up 2x4 to put my 2021 Chevy back together.

Extremely frustrating. This will be a long review because I'm losing my sh*t over this. Last week I spent $900 at the dealer on maintenance items and they told me my battery was bad. Couldn't afford it at the time. Friday, my 2021 Chevy just stopped. Would not crank all the way. Tow truck came told me my battery was bad, but since we were a block from my home towed it there to figure out my next steps. Saturday I call Lambs and tell them two mechanics said I need a new battery. I believe it was Brandon who told me if I tow it up there right now, he couldn't fix it that day but Monday was a definite. Monday at 9:30 they call and tell me they need to run a $125 "diagnostic" test. Despite the fact that Chevy told me it was bad..and the tow truck driver told me it was bad..I VERY reluctantly agreed to pay $125 for them to ALSO tell me my battery was dead. This is my THIRD Malibu (16,18,21) and I'm extremely familiar with its issues. This is a dead battery..but go on and charge me $125 to tell me the exact same thing. No word until 4:59, and they call to tell me for some reason they've not tested my battery yet and I will hear from someone in the morning (today) about the results from that test. At 11am I called them after not hearing from them. There's no update. No test was run yesterday despite them calling for authorization. I tell the woman answering that if I were a 50 year old man walking in there telling them I need a new battery a) I wouldn't be charged a bullshit diagnosis and b) it would have been done when promised. I spent EXTRA MONEY towing the car on SATURDAY because they told me they'd get to it Monday, but evidently it's just been sitting there. Today they said "well we could just put the battery in and see if it fixes it". Duh. Ya think?? I said well what about the TEST RESULTS you're going to charge me for? What did that say? No answer. I'm not sure what's going on here. Is it extremely bad communication, or just right out dishonesty? I called 10 places. This place told me MONDAY DEFINITELY. That's why I chose them..and now here we are dealing with this. I'm very frustrated because the car is how I make money. Every single hour it's there I'm losing money..so it was imperative for me to have the car on Monday, AS PROMISED. Edit: spoke with Phillip the manager who assured me they'd put a battery in and then proceed from there..which happened as promised. What's upsetting is I'm not sure if I believe them, at all. They told me they'd run tests yesterday, didn't happen. They told me they started it just fine yesterday, that was 100% untrue. My car is connected to an app on my phone. Every time it starts I get a notice and a systems report, so I know they didn't start the car. How do I trust the diagnosis or work when this has been our introduction? Second Edit: they couldn't fix it. I am grateful they only charged me for the battery, but it's been 5 days wasted. Philip was the only bright spot, he went above and beyond when he saw how this was handled at the start. Third edit: back down to 1 star. Just got a call. Even though supposedly my car was being worked on all day yesterday, when the car was handed over to the tow driver it did not have its bumper attached nor were all the screws given back.."because the tech wasn't there to tell them". So which was it. Were they working on it all day or was there no tech there?? This place is a legit sh*t show. Now I've got to go get the bolts and take them to Chevy and PAY THEM TO PUT THE BUMPER BACK ON because these m0rons can't bother. Edit: despite what this person said, it wasn't all the crazy issues they were describing. They're saying the battery was a year old. Hello. The car was purchased the summer of 20. That's 2 years. It ALSO had 95,000 miles. So yes. The battery was bad. The Chevy dealership fixed the car in less than 24 hours, it was a super simple grounding issue. What's absolutely CRAZY is these fools at Lambs USED A BUSTED UP 2x4 TO PUT MY CAR BACK TOGETHER. What. The. Actual. So not only did they leave out clips and screws...but they also did this BS to my 21 Chevy. I CAN'T wait to hear the response.

Be careful with hidden expenses that they do not tel you about them in advance. Get a second estimate from some other service places first.

They are very honest about what is or is not needed (spoiler: something your other mechanic told you might not be necessary yet or needed at all). Example: my other place told me that I needed to get rotors replaced (over $1000). This place told me that (1) I could wait until my next oil change in 6000 miles, (2) that they have a machine to resurface rotors instead of replacing them entirely, (3) that it would only cost me about one-third what the other place quoted. They are highly knowledgeable and they are also really good at finding deals. I referred a friend here who needed a part replacing and they called up different car yards to find the part to save her money (of course you can always get the more expensive versions of things too if you want). My friend just really appreciated that they were trying to help her save money. So yeah five out of five. I drive an hour out of my way just to come to these guys here.

Can't say enough kind things about Tony and Mauricio at Mechanics Near Me. Helpful, professional…read moreand above all, honest. I had a Mazda CX5 that wouldn't start in the morning. Once jumped, it was good for the rest of the day. I would have thought bad battery but the battery was six month's old and had been working perfectly until a week prior. So, I get it started and go see the nice guys at my neighborhood AutoZone (University, in RR). They kindly ran their diagnostic module on my car and it pronounced the battery good and that my charging current failed. They pronounced it 'bad alternator' and I accepted their diagnosis and began looking for a mobile mechanic to replace the alternator. Anyway, after numerous nebulous texts to a litany of mobile mechanics and unable to nail one down on either time/price or both, I contacted Tony at MnM. I dropped the car off and within an hour he called me and said my alternator's fine but your battery's cracked. So, picked up the battery and swapped it out at Costco and took the new one back to MnM and shortly they had me up and running. Paid them a pittance for the diagnostic and battery R&R and went on my way. The headline here is; Honest Mechanic found in Georgetown!. They're my guys now.

But this was fluid service, (the nasty stuff) trans fluid flush and fill, brake fluid flush, rear differential drain and fill, + my AC wasn't cooling as well. I did my homework and gathered about 5 estimates for this service from local shops and Toyota dealerships. Prices were coming in anywhere from $1000 - $1500. I stopped in at Christian Brothers in Leander on Sonny Drive and spoke to Brandon. He text me a written quote, which came out about half of what the other shops were asking. They also give a "Veterans/First responders" discount. Their work was professional, and they communicated with me all the time. They sent a video of a free service inspection of my truck, pointing out any areas of concern. I think I've found my back up mechanic for anything I can't do or just don't want to. Thanks Brandon and the team at Christian Brothers in Leander. My truck drives straight and the AC works like new. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

UPDATE to owners response (Check Photos):…read more I strongly dispute the claim that my vehicle had "years of neglect." I have documentation showing I received consistent oil changes and maintained the vehicle. If Christian Brothers is going to make that public statement, I am requesting that you provide the specific records, dates, inspection findings, and supporting documentation you are relying on to claim neglect. My concern remains the same: I paid for major repairs, the vehicle failed shortly after, and my concerns were not meaningfully investigated. I am not asking for assumptions -- I am asking for documentation, accountability, and a fair resolution. The central issue is the timing. I drove my vehicle without engine failure for months before bringing it to your shop. After relying on your diagnostics and authorizing nearly $4,000 in repairs, I picked the vehicle up and the engine failed within a day. Given that timeline, attributing the failure to "years of neglect" without supporting documentation is an overreaching conclusion that appears designed to shift blame rather than address my concerns. I repeatedly informed the shop that I was preparing for a long trip and wanted everything thoroughly checked before approving repairs. I was told further diagnosis could not be completed until the turbo work was done. After the repairs, I was told the vehicle was good to go, which led me to believe all necessary inspections had been completed. The engine failed within a day of pickup, which is why I continue to question whether everything was properly diagnosed before the vehicle was returned to me. _____________________ My experience with Christian Brothers Automotive Leander has been extremely frustrating. I brought my Hyundai Tucson in for major repairs totaling nearly $4,000. Before authorizing the work, I specifically asked that the vehicle be thoroughly diagnosed and that any known issues or potential issues be identified so I could make informed decisions. Shortly after the repairs were completed, the vehicle developed severe engine knocking and became inoperable. The timing alone was alarming. I expected the shop to take my concerns seriously and work collaboratively toward answers. Instead, I was largely left to manage the situation myself while dealing with towing expenses, rental costs, missed work concerns, and the stress of being stranded with my child. The biggest issue for me has been customer service after the failure occurred. Communication became difficult, and I felt that my concerns were dismissed rather than investigated

On March 23, my father and I brought his vehicle to Sun Auto for diagnosis and repair of an…read moreoverheating issue. We worked primarily with Karl K., who was professional and thorough. After receiving a detailed inspection report, we authorized repairs only related to the overheating concern. The initial estimate was approximately $1,400, later expanded to ~$2,100 with additional approved items. Approximately one week later, I was informed that additional labor had already been performed due to complications encountered by the assigned technician, Robert Martin. This resulted in an unauthorized increase of approximately $700, which was neither discussed nor approved prior to the work being completed. This raised immediate concerns regarding billing practices. After nearly two weeks in the shop, we were informed that despite the repairs, the vehicle continued to overheat and the shop was uncertain how to proceed. During an in-person visit, interactions with staff (excluding Karl K. and the General Manager, Travis) were unprofessional and defensive. While the General Manager acknowledged communication failures and removed the unauthorized charges, the technician was unable to clearly explain why the overheating issue persisted after the repairs. After being encouraged to allow additional work at no cost, we agreed. Two days later, we were told the issue was resolved by bleeding air from the cooling system. We retrieved the vehicle immediately. Upon pickup, the vehicle was returned with loose bolts placed on the windshield and a non-functional hood latch, an issue that did not exist prior to service. Despite photo documentation, Sun Auto has refused responsibility, attributing the damage to vehicle age and denying fault. While Karl K. acted professionally throughout, the overall experience reflects serious concerns regarding authorization, workmanship, vehicle handling, and accountability. I do not recommend this location. Should the overheating issue recur, I will pursue further action.
