Went to pick blueberries and saw this cute little Diner. I'm glad we did! Great menu with daily specials. I ordered their Corn Beef Hash with homemade bread and eggs over easy. Yummy! My wife just had eggs over easy with homemade bread. Delicious! Service was terrific. We never had to ask for more coffee and our waitress always made sure we were pleased with our meals. Stopped here for lunch with a few friends after a visit to Lady Fatima Shrine ( a must see!). It's a very down-home basic diner in the middle of nowhere. Lol at least to me since I'm not familiar with the area. Everything seemed reasonably priced. My friends ordered chicken & biscuits and a southwest chicken wrap. I & one other friend ordered the fried bologna sandwich. The sandwich was good except the roll seemed too small. I mentioned the pricing before specifically because the bologna sandwich was listed at $6.50, or so I thought. When the bill came it was $11. Since the other person who also ordered it didn't say anything I thought I must have seen it wrong & just paid the bill. Well, to my surprise, when I got home & checked my pictures, it was $6.50! I'm not sure if it was just a mistake on the bill or if the menu is that much off on what they're currently charging. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth, not caused by the actual good. The menu offers homemade soups, house baked bread and all the breakfast and lunch items that make for a good family restaurant. We have had this place in rotation for years. Today Mark had mixed eggs with mushrooms, cheddar and sausage. I enjoyed a Not so hungry" plate with 1 egg, 1 pancake, 2 slices of bacon and a 1/2 order of home fries. Everything was well prepared. We brought enough food for a lunch for both of us. We ended up here the other day because my mother in law's favorite diner was closed for the week. Service is excellent. The interior is interesting. At first I thought they were going for some sort of Florida vibe due to the flamingo curtains, but the decor is otherwise nautical in general with posters for everywhere from the Bahamas to San Francisco. There's even a swordfish (I think, never saw the front end) behind the counter. Food is typical diner fair. The toast is really thick. The carrot cake waffles are thinner than traditional Belgian waffle but very sweet, so you would not want more. Topped with cream cheese icing, they are a definite recommendation to try. Mom-n-Pop kinda restaurant, also called Hill Vue. Rustic interior. I ordered a Western omelet with a side of hash browns. I think they must cut their bread with a meat cleaver - the slices are huge!! :-) A great meal, even if it was nearly 11am and by all rights I should have ordered off of the lunch menu. Service was attentive and all of the wait staff was friendly. Parking is kinda shared with the place next door, which works out well, as Hill Vue closes at 2pm daily and the place next door is a bar/restaurant that opens later. Biscuits and gravy are the best here! I never really thought about going into this place until this past Saturday. It's definitely not fancy but who cares when the food is pretty darn appetizing and not over priced either. I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs and very fresh cut up fruit and coffee; my husband had biscuits gravy and some kinda big boy breakfast with pancakes meat eggs potatoes and coffee all for $28 and the portions are good size almost perfect if you're really hungry. I'll be back Friday to check out breakfast or maybe lunch even. I didn't take pics of food but I will next time. I've given Hillview so many chances and I finally feel like I have to speak on their service. The food is great, however I have never one single time ordered something and had it come out correctly. I have ordered soup on multiple occasions and gotten a half filled bowl, not anywhere near worth the price of $4.50. I have ordered a burger 2 times and asked for no cheese and gotten cheese on it both times. The food again is great, but good luck with ordering. No matter how specific I am, I have never gotten my order correct. read more

Don't let the outside fool u...it's so very cute inside! Met up with about 10 family members for breakfast and didn't know what to expect..maybe just eggs, bacon, and toast.. but they had a big specials board that featured a unique bunch of delicious stuff including quiche and avocado toast on homemade bread!! (ALL the breads, except the rye is made in-house... big thick slices that were wonderful!) I got the avocado toast on the wheat version of that gorgeous bread with a fruit cup... caveman took advantage of the make-ur-own omelet by filling it with meat and Swiss.. lots of eggs and bacon with that bread were ordered, the quiche amounted to about a quarter of the pie (huge!) and was apparently delicious, and the littlest relative got a short stack of pancakes that he loved. There are several "scrambles" that looked good too! Small place with lovely servers that were very sweet.. coffee filled frequently and the bathroom was clean. Great little find for us when we wanted to extend our stay with out of town relatives through breakfast! read more

My husband got a three-egg omelette with sausage, Swiss and mushrooms and called it a five-star. I had the "Not as hungry" hungry man breakfast with one egg over easy (perfectly cooked,) French toast (delicious) and nice spicy sausage links and REAL crispy home fries chunks, with skins. Yum!
