    Dippy eggs cream cheese bagel

Very cold during summer (bring jacket) very good service though. Food was hot and delicious. Bathrooms are pretty small. But the great view of the water makes up for it. Eggs and bagels are sooo good!!!!

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. It's different from most diners near Lake Ontario in a couple key ways: 1) They don't serve breakfast all day. It was over when we arrived between 11 and noon. On one hand, this cuts down on my usual indecisiveness. On the other hand, I actually wanted breakfast today. 2) They do serve beer and wine. This is also one of the more attractive diners in the area with a nice view overlooking the river. My husband really enjoyed his patty melt. It was so filling, he had to save half for dinner. My burger was good, but they were a little too generous with the cheddar cheese, which made for an extra greasy burger. The fries are great. Service is excellent. We'll have to make it back for breakfast some time.

    Saucy.

Best joint in Niagara County for biscuits & gravy with eggs over easy. Price, food quality, & service all on point. Eat local.

Seems like a lot of fine folks!

Paul Simon sang the song Slip Sliding Away and as I sat in this old diner wondering about service ... The rating kept slip sliding away. This diner has a great view of the Niagara River and it is popular judging by the Wednesday lunch time crowd. However their staff do not find engaging conversations as an element in a welcoming restaurant. The menu options are limited so I chose the Western NY classic beef on weck. I was told the macaroni salad was homemade this morning (no tuna) so I chose it over the fries. And, then I waited .... Perhaps it is just one guy alone that slows service but hello can my overly rushed non-conversant waitress take the moment in passing to whisper in my ear that my meal is coming? The plate was dropped in front of me with a nice kitchen created presentation (Yes, looks matter.). However the weck roll didn't have a lot of salt/caraway, which makes a weck a weck. The pickle from a jar was just that. A small side of horseradish. If you expect your beef medium rare on sandwiches especially weck's this baby's beef was cooked completely ... A little au jus helped but there is a reason most of us like a little pink and its this element named taste or flavor in the beef. The Mac salad had some crunchy elements an indication of fresh with a relish oriented flavor. I was actually considering dessert until my waitress just dropped the check on my table while asking if I needed more water. I said yes just to get more service from her. Glancing around at other diners' plates left me not regretting my choice of lunch ... I did notice that the soda (pop) is served in their plastic bottles not from a soda fountain. Those bottles made me think that the diners brought their own in. A final thought .... Servers having a bad day when a smile or friendly word does not come naturally should in the words of Seinfeld's Elaine Benes "FAKE IT FAKE FAKE FAKE!"

Had not eaten since bkft and was early evening I was looking for a place to have a meal and came upon the diner. It was packed with locals. The area have very nice view of the lake. I was promptly greeted and was told I could seat myself. The menu is large, the specials were all pasta dishes. I ordered the pork chops that came w/ salad & choice of potato. The salad was either house salad or Caesar salad. I chose the house and it was delicious. I usually don't eat all the salad this one I devoured. With a bit of french dressing. The chops were thin and well seasoned, but they came a bit undercooked and I had to return them to the chef to be done for a bit longer. The potato was of perfect consistency. For dessert I ordered the apple pie a la mode (nicely tart) and iced tea complimented the meal.

About fifteen miles away from Niagara Falls is the seemingly deserted and bit ominous Youngstown. We were in the area during breakfast time and the only place open was this diner. Youngstown Village Diner definitely had a homey and warm atmosphere; it's a gem of Youngstown. We were quickly seated by our waitress, Margaret, who was full of charisma and effortless humor. As I ordered my breakfast on a bun, I asked her what kind of ham they serve in it (turkey or pork), and she said, "I don't know, it's ham... ham-ham." I literally could not stop laughing. Then when my mom ordered the number two breakfast combo, Margaret asked her how she liked her eggs. My mom nonchalantly replied, "Cooked medium," and Margaret didn't even budge and went along with it. It was so funny because she meant if she liked the eggs either sunny side up, scrambled, or poached. The food came in about ten minutes. Everything was delicious and fresh. After we were done eating, I asked Margaret what is there to do around here. She told us of the attractions nearby, but we have already seen or done most of them. Then she jokingly said, "Or you could help me do the dishes!" and lightly slapped me on the arm. I couldn't hold in my laughter.

Nice little diner with a nice view of the river. Friendly and no is staffs. We got seated right away for some Monday lunch. Ordered a southwest burger with fries. Burger was good, but it was a little plain, need some flavor. However, their fries were amazing and tasty, balanced the flavor for the dish. Overall, nice and cozy diner for some breakfast and lunch.

Nice layout. Our server was great. Lots of fun. He didn't write anything down and got it all right. I asked him for a recommendation on an app cuz I wasn't that hungry. He said the feta burchetta. It comes in 4 huge pieces. More than enough to share. Piled high with tomatoes, cheese, onions, and you add your own olive oil and balsamic. It was very good. I ate 2. Sadly, we slept in and no restaurants serve breakfast past 10am except Escabeche at the Prince of Wales Hotel and Eggsmart. Since we were looking for local flavour, we headed to Escabeche. The menu out front looked good, a little pricy, but we didn't care; we were so hungry! They took our names and we waited. We waited about 15min and were seated right by the windows in the sunroom. Nice! The another couple was seated at the table behind us at the same time. We ordered our meals as well as some water and coffee. Then we waited........ And waited.... And......the couple seated after us got their food. And they sent it back. They received their corrected meals and then we got ours. A little pet peeve of mine is people seated after me and ordering after me getting their food first. Grrr. I, of course, ordered Eggs Benny. I've had a few Eggs Benedicts in my day, so I'm pretty sure I know what it is. I'd like to think the meat should be under both eggs, but this did not happen for me. Luckily, I took a photo before I dug in. I had started eating when I realized there was no meat on half. I called the server over and told her. She said it's 1 piece of sourdough and 1 large piece of meat with the 2 eggs on top. I showed her the picture and she nodded like that was normal. For $18, I'd like actual Eggs Benny...especially considering there was no side with it. Half a strawberry, 1 slice of bread and 2 eggs seems hardly worth it. I gave them the chance to fix it and they didn't. We ate and then ran out of drinks. No server in sight. The table with the water jug was across the aisle from me, so I got up to fill my glass. Other customers saw me serve myself and they came up to fill their glasses. Not cool. They saw us all filling our glasses and walked around us. This was another chance to do something and they didn't. I will never be back to this place. My recommendation is to get up before 10am and go somewhere that has service, good pricing and actual food.
