Husqvarna's corporate policy allows returns within 30 days, but they can't require a retailer to support their policy. The clerk remarked that the model we had bought is a "POS" so even the staff knew it was a substandard mower yet sold it to an 83 year old man. Doing research after the fact, the same mower at Lowes was $400 cheaper and Lowe's stands behind the products and respect customers. The downside of this type of hardware store is that it doesn't let you see or choose your own lumber before you buy it, as evidenced by this photo. The quality of the two pieces of fairly expensive pressure-treated wood that I purchased was so atrocious that I wondered if they had come out of the ground from somebody else's yard: cracked, splintered, missing parts of the wood, discolored, and bowed. When I was informed that it was available for pickup at Customer Service the clerk was unable to find the location of the item. I proceeded to sit back and wait patiently while she looked for the item. About 45 minutes later she finally came back to tell me that she hadn't found it yet! I was appalled that she didn't come back earlier to tell me that the wait would be this long! Eventually she found the item, 'in a place where it wasn't supposed to be' she said.... This happened at about 5 PM yesterday and I observed that customer service was practically abandoned at that time with only one lady who continued to talk on the phone looking away from me 'cuz she knew I'd be an upset customer if she acknowledged me. VERY POOR handling of my situation.. I think I'll try Home Depot next time. Perhaps they'll be better....

They did of course suggest going online for the tool I wanted but I needed it for a project right away. The staff was friendly. The store is laid out well so you can find things pretty easily. I like that their prices are more affordable- it's easier on the budget.
