i have lived in franklin for about 6 years now. i don't know what the previous owners did inside of the house but pretty much everything was broken. this put me in the position of finding people to come to the house and make some repairs asap. i was new to the area so i didn't know who to call. i saw a different company's van (i will call them kee bompany) in my neighbor's driveway so i gave them a call. i had to wait forever but they finally got someone out to the house. i've moved a lot and have lived in a lot of different houses so i'm no noob when it comes to home repairs. the guy from kee bompany looked me in the eyes and gave me the highest estimate i've ever heard in my life. i let him know i would call when i was ready to schedule and that was that. HVAC - my main problem was a combo HVAC unit that wasn't working. i stumbled across hiller and saw the great reviews so i gave them a call. they had someone to my house that night and we had air within an hour of their arrival. very shortly after they fixed one HVAC unit the other unit stopped working. i went out to take a look and it looked like it blew up. of course i called hiller right away, and again, they had someone out that night to look. they went above and beyond what i've ever expected and were outside, in the rain, and in the bushes on the side of my house by the woods for about an hour. i won't even go over there when the weather is nice. unfortunately that unit was toast. hiller gave me different options for replacements and didn't pressure me at all to make a decision. everything was explained to me so well, including info about their extra warranty that's included, that i picked out a new unit right then. a couple days later we had a new unit, everything was tested, and we had air again. the process was very smooth. that new unit worked really well until there was a problem with the compressor. again, one phone call and they were out that day. i researched this issue and found that the compressor company was at fault and thousands of HVAC units were breaking because of their problem. instead of waiting for the compressor company to send replacements hiller brought out a brand new HVAC unit and didn't charge me a dime. the issue wasn't their fault at all but again they went above and beyond and i had air again. now everything works great especially with their tuneups that come along with be a hiller club member. PLUMBING - i had to have a lot of plumbing redone. i figured if hiller did such a good job with the HVAC then they will probably do well with the plumbing issues. i called the office and had a plumber scheduled to come out to the house. when he arrived he looked over the pieces that were broken and gave me a few tips about some other weirdness that he found. he gave me an estimate to do the repairs and didn't pressure me at all to make a decision. the price was right so i signed the line and agreed to have the work done. i figured that i would need to schedule for someone to come back but i was wrong. he fixed everything right then. i've had no problems since and i believe that's because of the quality work and the tuneups that come along with joining the club. ELECTRICAL - when i first started with hiller they did not have an electrical department. i had someone else out to do a lot of electrical work inside of the house but wasn't too confident about it. i was made aware that hiller just started doing electrical work so i called them up. the same helpful and friendly people answered and i scheduled an electrician to come out to the house to look at everything. the electricians that came out obviously knew what they were doing so i stopped worrying about their work right away. they went through and fixed everything that i thought might be an issue and then explained everything to me. i have had the electrical department install generators, outdoor lights, wifi switches, 240v power, and fix lots of issues throughout the house. now everything is working perfectly. i am very happy with hiller. admittedly, i am kind of a jerk and i am weird about people being in my space but i've become so confident in hiller that i let anyone from their company go anywhere in my house without feeling like i have to follow them and look over their shoulder. if i am around them while they are working it's because they are all good people and i am just hanging out. everything that they have done has been done perfectly and they even call the next day to make sure that i am happy with everything. thank you, hiller! read more

Big smiles. Obvious scams. - HVAC unit stopped blowing warm air making it extremely cold in my house. My family was miserable. - Before I called Hiller, I just happened to meet a man who built houses and seemed to know a lot so I asked him if they would do a good job, he said yes but they will try to scam you out of every penny you have. He gave me the name of a guy I should call for a second opinion after Hiller checked my system and gave me a quote. - Hiller comes to my house. The guy (who was very nice and seemed honest) goes up, looks around, comes back down and tells me my HIGH LIMIT SWITCH is out, he needed to replace it but unfortunately the part was not on his truck, so he bypassed the switch to get the unit working. After he told me I absolutely had to call Hiller soon and get them to come out with the part and replace it soon. The HIGH LIMIT SWITCH keeps the unit from overheating and burning down the house so it's important. I had to sign a liability form and understood what I needed to do and that it wasn't safe. Fine. - The tech also recommended (didn't say it was necessary) that I replace my HEAT EXCHANGER for $2,000. I said I would think about it but couldn't do it right then. - A week passes and I feel like I need to get the HIGH LIMIT SWITCH replaced because I'm putting my family in danger. - I call Hiller and ask them to come and put in the HIGH LIMIT SWITCH. - A tech (Not the original tech) calls me back and tells me he can come do it but ONLY if I ALSO spend the $2,000 to replace the exchanger. I said the original tech said it wasn't a necessity. He kept pushing. - I then called their customer service to confirm what the original tech had said and to see if anyone could come out and replace the HIGH LIMIT SWITCH only. The rep on the line said they would do it ONLY if I also replaced the HEAT EXCHANGER for $2,000. I said I can't, please come and replace the HIGH LIMIT SWITCH (which was around $275). She then says something like "Sir you have 3 kids, don't you want to keep them safe?" I had not mentioned this on our call. Previous calls, not this one, so it was in the notes. "Yes, I do, I want you to replace the switch, I was told the exchanger was ok for now. Please have the original tech call me." They promised he would but he never did. - I was annoyed so I called the tech the guy recommended before. - He came to my house, checked out my unit for about 2 minutes, came back down, and what did he have in his hand....3 FUSES. - He told me the Hiller tech hadn't touched the HIGH LIMIT SWITCH. Had. Not. Touched. It. It was working perfectly; he took a pic and showed it to me. The tech only replaced 3 FUSES and had not bypassed anything. What!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! - He also said my HEAT EXCHANGER looked fantastic, almost like new, and there was no need to replace it. - He then proceeded to tell me about my unit and what to expect down the road. I learned more about HIGH LIMIT SWITCHES and EXCHANGERS. He knew way more than the Hiller tech AND he didn't charge me anything. ZERO. He was just an honest man trying to help people. I had to force him to take $20. - SUMMARY: I think this is a common scam they run. They say there's a small problem they can't fix at the first appointment and tell you they need to come back, before they leave they also recommend you eventually replace an exchanger or something more expensive. When you call back to schedule the next appointment, they refuse to come back out unless you also replace the big part that "has" to be replaced due to safety concerns. - I was so upset about this, I thought about calling the Channel 4 I Team or some other news outlet, but then a friend mentioned that because Hiller advertises everywhere the media would probably stay away from it. I thought that was a good point and something I hadn't thought about. They advertise so heavily, not to get customers, but to pay off the media (yes, I am wearing a tinfoil hat). There is a reason Hiller Plumbing is always hireing. Because people are always quiting. You have to attend a mandatory sales meeting every Friday and watch videos on how to make more sales. I have seen every Zig Ziggler video there is! You get yelled at when your sales are low AND if you leave a customers house with only a service charge or no $$ you have to call Jimmy Hiller himself and explain why. 24 hour service means you are expected to work 24 hours a day if needed. If you would like to work in the office, that's not a bad deal. The girls in the office come in around 7 or 8 a.m. (clock themselves in at 6 a.m.) and leave around 4 p.m. (clocking themselves out at 5 or 6 p.m.) Techs have to give 60 day notice for a vacation day (office people can give a few hours notice) Insurance with the company will cost you aproximately $155 a paycheck (weekly) Prices,,,,,ok. Stainless Steal braided washing machine hoses. Very good. Everyone should have these. Lowes sells them for $32 a pair. Hiller sells them for $110 a pair (installed of course) Water Heaters,,,,,,Fergeson sells State water heaters for $300. Hiller sells them for $1200 (installed of course) Toilet rebuild (toilet running) total parts- $25. Hiller charges $165 (installed of course) Faucets,,,,,,A GOOD name brand faucet will cost about $150 to $200. The "good" at Hiller $550 (installed) but it is an off the wall brand made in china. Trust me on this one!! Drain treatment,,,,,,same stuff at Lowes or online for $25. Hiller $75 (not installed) If you are in dire straights for a job, don't have to much of a criminal background then head over to hiller. You need to continue to look for a job though because you WILL quite within 18 months read more

My husband and I have depended on Hiller for years. Any time day or night they have been there. They don't stop until the customer is satisfied. I am writing this review to tell about the experience we recently had with Hiller. We had problems with our septic system and the guys from Hiller were trying to work with the weather to avoid tearing up our lawn. It was a big job and I thought the care they showed with the lawn was exceptionally caring BUT the real human touch came as a wonderful surprise. I had lost my Mother's ring months ago. Of the things I have of hers, this ring was the most treasured. I couldn't get it out of the drain and thought it was gone forever. I didn't mention it to the Hiller guys because frankly I thought it was gone forever. You can't imagine my surprise when one of the Hiller guys showed me what they had found. He said he saw something shiny and quickly retrieved it before it was lost. My Mother's ring!! He could have ignored it and someone that is dishonest could have kept it but he proudly gave it to my husband. I was so shocked I cried. Bless you Hiller. In the middle of a very physical job you didn't forget the emotional side. I now have my (cleaned) ring back, septic system like new, yard professionally repaired by you and I am one happy customer. Hiller sees you as a person and not just a customer. Long review but I wanted to tell you that you get what you pay for. Having someone with heart was something money can't buy. I have to say, I wish I had researched my husband's decision to call this company from the start but I was trying to be the humble wife who goes along and trusts her husband's decisions. We needed service work done in our home and had all three of their available service technicians checking things in our house. After all the smoke cleared, we have ended up being out $309 and all of the real work that was done was just a minor breaker box issue that was supposed to bring out house up to "codes", so the tech said. The only other real work that was done was a light switch in our master bedroom that was replaced. Anything else done was "inspections" and we did have our A/C unit serviced. All of this took less than 30 minutes to complete and they made over $300 off of us, which included their Hiller club membership fee of $99 that I was convinced to buy to "save us money". WHAT A LIE. You are not getting a great deal with that because really, if you think about it, you are paying for the services they say you are getting a good deal on because of the $99 fee. We are not a rich family, but a working middle-class family who works hard for what they have and don't have gobs of money to throw around. I have lost any respect I had for this company because they simply are rip-off artists who put on a fake act that they care about your needs and go out of their way to be nice to you because they want to see how much money they can get from you. Wow! We had a water feature coming from our living room ceiling... not our choice for the feature...called Hillers. We were treated with such courtesy, while describing our challenge. We told them we had sufficient buckets to catch the leak to water the tomato plants outdoors, as we knew it would probably be a few days before they could respond... However , their tech Michael Coker, (must be a Master Plumber ) if their is such a certification, was there ,at our home in just over an hour...Diagnosed, acted and fixed the issue...without having to rely on Trial and Error...it was a busted pipe between the ceiling and upstairs floors...he was "spot on" and his work left no spots on the ceiling area or living room carpet!!!! The amazing fact is that we would have probably paid whatever they assessed us with to avoid further Loss, but they chose to be transparent with the costs from our initial contact... Wow!!! Perfect...now the only ones we have to wait on is our insurance company to respond and see if we choose for them to assist in the repair costs of the rehab that's left... We Chose Hillers.... I am not writing about how Hiller Plumbing came out and fixed my toilet, but i do want to commend them on hiring some very good people. I was on Highway 99 in Murfreesboro on Saturday afternoon when my truck overheated. I pulled to the side of the road, popped open my hood and proceeded to wait for someone to come get me when a young man in a red Dodge Stratus pulled up behind me. Out of this car, came a young man, in a Hiller Plumbing uniform by the name of Patrick, who offered his assistance and was able to get my truck back on the road for me. Not only did he stop and put my radiator hose back on for me, he also went out of his way to drive down the street to a local convenience store and purchase a gallon of antifreeze for me, then drove back and proceeded to put this in for me. When all was said and done, i offered him some money to pay for the antifreeze and he refused to accept it, saying "it was all in a day's work" and offered me a "blessed day." Obviously this young man was the true blessing!! Thank you again, Patrick for all of your help and to Hiller, good job on hiring such good people. While Hiller does great work (there is your one star), this is specific to the way they run their business and my experience with a tenant who was actually buying my house, the person who serviced it, and the accounting dept. I authorized very specific work on a house that was already in escrow to the tenant, however while on site they convinced them to get around $500 in extra services without my approval. After getting the bill I explained that the tenant authorized it and was responsible, then one day I got a collection notice. With the threat of my credit jeopardized and Hiller assuming NO responsibility for what they called a "miscommunication" I finally reluctantly paid it. Fast forward to yesterday when I pulled my credit for a refinance and there is collection from them on the credit that has been there since 2014 thus affecting my credit for 2+ years.This is just an unacceptable way to run a business and I'm very frustrated that I feel the need to Yelp in order to even get them to address a significant problem they've caused me personally on top of forcing me to pay something I never should have been held responsible for. read more

I am a member of the Happy Hiller club and have been extremely satisfied with it thus far but never as satisfied as I am after this week. We had a massive leak in one of the coils on our HVAC unit and had no freon left. I called Hiller and they had a technician to our house that day. After inspection he gave us a quote for the labor and freon and told my husband that anywhere that has the part we needed was closed so he wasn't able to check but that he would call around first thing in the morning and let us know. He was in contact with my husband at 7:30 the next morning, albeit with bad news that there weren't any parts in Middle Tennessee, but said that he was in contact with his supervisor and that they would continue to search for us and potentially replace our unit because it was still under warranty and not having A/C in the dead of summer for two weeks would be miserable. Within the hour they had called everywhere they could and finally found a part and were at our home at 8am the next morning to install it. We are so thankful for Michael, our technician, and Hiller as a whole for the incredible service they provided to us. read more

There are two technicians at the Columbia Hiller we have come to love -- Robert Collier an electrician and Wayne Culver a plumber. They were both extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Prior to our experience with them, I saw calling Hiller as a last resort as I knew them to be especially pricey. But after dealing with too many plumber and electrician bubbas who didn't show up when they said they would or didn't finish work in a timely manner, and even worse-- seriously messed up stuff and left it that way so that it not only had to be done again but was also dangerous in the meantime, I was happy to pay more for professional work in a timely manner that is backed with a guarantee. Having it done right the first time saves time and money in the long run even though the initial price may seem high. We have learned that the hard way. These two gentlemen completed several different jobs for us over the period of a month that had been screwed up by "cheaper" subs in the months prior. I just want to send a thank you note. Thank you for hiring quality individuals. Yesterday, one of your service techs, Brent (#7517), came out to look at my air unit. It is an old unit and he was able to get the heat working. However, he showed me some potential hazards (health and safety) due to the age of the unit. This included holes in the heat exchange. He was professional, friendly, and it really seemed like he cared about the health and safety of my family. Today, I met Bridgett Anderson. She was, by far, the best sales person I have ever encountered. Bridget obviously loves what she does. She Really impressed me with her knowledge and ability to explain everything. She treated me with respect and did not treat me like just another sale. I do not like the idea of spending so much money, but the buying experience was the least painful. I would also give Hiller 0 starts if it were possible. They are in business to rip you off!!! DO NOT call these people!!! They are trained to sell you as much work as they can and they charge a completely unreasonable amount. They also used to :fear factor" on me..."if you don't get these parts replaced, your A.C. unit could go out at any time. After Hiller ripped me off for over $600 I had 2 more Air conditioning repair companies look at my unit and they said I did not even need to work done that Hiller recommended. These guys are con-artistis. I hope you read their reviews. I did not and it cost me over $600. The woman I spoke with when I initially made the appointment was VERY friendly. DO NOT be fooled by the friendly nature of these Hiller employees!!! If I saved one person from hiring these people it will be worth my time to wrtie this review. They should go out of business. I called at 7:30am as my furnace was blowing just cold air, they managed to squeeze us in and the tech was here by 12:30pm The tech's that came out, Steve was the one I spoke with, were wonderful, polite, courteous and explained everything to me in detail. The furnace had basically locked itself out and the got it sorted and running again with only a $79 fee. The system failed again at midnight and the tech was here 30 minutes later and fixed what turned out to be the flame sensor which he cleaned and repositioned it to the correct spot at no additional cost, that means a lot that they stood by what they had done earlier in the day, several companies will charge you to just head that way after hours. I am very happy with Hiller and will recommend you to others. Thanks for a great job and for really being honest, that's a great thing in this day and age to know that you can trust them to not over charge or "fix" things that don't need it. read more

I had a natural gas leak near my fireplace a few weeks ago and called Hiller to see if they could fix it. We were in the middle of our first cold spell of the season so they were really busy, but they still came out the same day I called. Turns out the globe valve near the fireplace was the culprit and was adjusted quickly. The technician was very professional and friendly, explaining everything to me as he went along. I signed up for their yearly maintenance service so I could continue to use their services. My technicians name was Jeromy. While I am pleased with the service I received that day, my problem is apparently more difficult and I will need to have them come back out and do additional work on the gas line. Not my favorite since I came away cheap last time, but I can't fool with NG leaks. I am sure I will receive the same quality service as last time and look forward to using them for the rest of my MP&E needs in the future. read more
