When my family and I moved to Castro valley Hayward, we constantly passed by this cafe and we've been regularly eating since! The staff are amazing, quick and love chatting with you. It's so cozy, very cute inside. It feels like being at a relatives house, they cook with so much love and passion! Ive tried their breakfast, lunch, side dishes and they never disappoint. Their food taste so fresh, non greasy and delicious! I've introduced this place to my friends and my boyfriend and they love it! They're always so consistent with their food and the taste! Not to mention the price! High quality meals, conveniently located right next to the freeway for a fraction of the cost of what you might pay at a corporation or franchise. I love hills and will continue to support them! The ambiance I so nice too, all ages dine here and they're all possibly and most likely your neighbors! Often passed this on the way home from college commutes, and decided to give it a shot. Textbook definition of a diner joint. Nothing too fancy, simple, nice and greasy. Service was polite and the food came at a nice pace. Requested my burger as medium well and came as such too. Menu may be a bit too small for some but I dug it as well as the atmosphere. Small Diner, BIG Flavor! Now, this isn't the place you're camera lens will take pleasure it, but your taste buds will. This is the spot you didn't know you needed, but happy you found it. It's a small diner located just inches away from the freeway which makes stopping in and getting back to life simple. I enjoyed their "pancake sandwich" and coffee. The coffee was FRESH and hot-JUST HOW I LIKE IT and the waitresses deliver with a smile. Parking: This location shares a lot with corner store so, parking gets very hectic. Luckily, I've only had to wait a small amount of times each time I've visited, but it can definitely be a challenge. They have weekly specials (see photos) and the prices are a BRAG! Like every other restaurant, they've increased their prices a lot, but it's still fair for the flavor you get. Would I go back? Man, this is like my 25th visit. I will make one small note. Love the no frills breakfast shop. Exactly the kind of place I wanted to be for my classic American breakfast. I love that this place, of all the ones I looked into in the area, lets you order one french toast piece! Because that's exactly what I wanted along with a short stack of pancakes and eggs. The pancakes were simple and semi-fluffy - reminded me of what I'd get at Denny's. The french toast was perfectly delicious and just the right amount of eggy. I had orange juice which definitely was from concentrate. Although there weren't a full house of patrons on the weekday morning I visited, it was still quite busy. I was a bit disappointed that I had to find my own hot sauce since the lady working was chatting up a seemingly regular customer instead. Small diner in Hayward right next to the freeway entrance. Parking is small but it's fine. I really enjoy coming here for their waffles. The butter that they put on there is so good! Service is quick and friendly. They have specials on the weekdays which we haven't tried. We had the chicken fried steak and it was nice and tasty, I just wish I had more gravy. My husband and I found this gem this weekend and I'm so glad we did! The place is really cute and everyone was really sweet! I had the hills special but subbed linguica for ground beef and YUM. I ALWAYS forget to take a picture before I dig in, so the photo attached is after I had started to enjoy. Husband had the mushroom burger and loved it! We will absolutely be back! The parking situation is a little congested but I was able to get a parking spot within a few min from when I arrived. If you want a basic diner with a simple menu, this is your spot I did have to wait for a table about 20 min because they were pretty busy but I looked over the menu while I waited so I was ready to order once I got seated. I have driven by and seen this place many times over the years and have wanted to try it. Today I did. I was having a craving for a hotlink, eggs and pancakes. I walked in, and the waitress was friendly and greeted me. I sat down and ordered and had my food within five minutes. She brought exactly what I had asked for with the egg cooked perfectly and a very good pancake. Simple, old fashioned and no frills inside. ** 3-3.5 stars** Gosh, it's been ages and probably last visit was pre-Yelp and/or sporadic review days...different owners but place looks the same as I remember just (worn) with the fading restaurant sign, run-down parking lot and dated interior with the gratuitous Chinese calendar on the wall :) Place has about 10 tables (no counter seating) and 1 server but she is very attentive, efficient and friendly...definitely interior has a dated diner vibe with an open kitchen so it can get a little stuffy in there. You can see the older husband and wife team hustling to get orders out. Menu straightforward and basic with the usual pancakes, waffles and French toast, custom omelettes with side of hash brown, potatoes or fruit with hamburgers and sandwiches offered for lunch. Since it's been awhile, I ordered the eggs benedict which is good indicator they can do a proper breakfast. The hollandaise was made from scratch and not that packaged, fluorescent yellow-gloppy stuff but at the same time their homemade sauce was good but really thin/watery. Hash browns were not fully crisp and could've used more time on the griddle... My friend loved his custom omelette and hash browns just fine but then again, he drenches it with ketchup (insert eye roll)! Next time I visit for breakfast I'll ask for hash browns to be extra crispy with hollandaise on the side and I'll be a happy camper.. If you're looking for simple breakfast at a "mom-and-pop" eatery, decent coffee and friendly service give this place a try...arrived at 815am without a wait...left about 920 and place and small parking lot started to fill up... We found out about this place via Yelp because our go-to car wash place is in the area and I'm so glad we did. This place is a mom and pops shop and the staff here seem to know local members of the community who dine here. It also has a small-town vibe. There's a small lot out front with 10+ spots and so there's usually always parking as well. The menu is wide and the prices are decent. For two main dishes and a cup of coffee the price comes to just over $25 with tip. The food comes out quickly and everything we've tried has been great! The has browns are crispy and the French toast is crisp, buttery and tasty. We will definitely keep coming back. read more

This was our first time here, and we really liked it! It is conveniently located near the freeway entrance, there's a parking lot with lots of parking, and when we got there, it wasn't crowded. The service was quick and friendly, and they served our food within 10 minutes! My best friend got the country fried steak with English muffin and and I got the pecan waffle. The country fried steak had a light and crispy breading, it wasn't thick. The steak was tender and moist, and the gravy tasted homemade. It had a great ratio. She got it with the crazy potatoes which is potatoes with bell peppers, onions, and cheese. I got the pecan waffle and it was fluffy, cooked perfectly, and they added the perfect amount of pecans.
