Monster Burrito
Maria B.

I came on a Sunday and surprised not to see Amy in the kitchen as usual. I ordered my usual monster burrito that now cost $16.95. I should call this NO monster burrito at all. This used to be huge. I could only eat half of it back then. But now this tiny breakfast burrito is not the same. They downgrade the portion significantly. Maybe because Amy is not here. Im disappointed.

I haven't been to Amy's Grill & Cafe since I hung out with family friends several years ago. I got kinda lost looking for it when it's sitting in the middle of the shopping center. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is really small though. I saw a family that had to sit in a small table, but thankfully they moved to a larger one since customers from that table left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have a patio but it's cold outside. Obviously no one wants to sit outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also nice that almost every table has condiments for us to use.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is good though. The syrup's viscosity is very thick and slow, which is something that I've never experienced. The pancakes are quite fluffy. The sausages and eggs are alright. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Because the place is small with less seats, it can be hectic during peak hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend to go through takeout if possible. If you still want to dine here especially indoors, you'll have to wait longer.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little spot with both indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We grabbed seats at the counter, and our food came out pretty quickly after ordering. I always go for the eggs Benedict, it didn't disappoint. The hollandaise was solid. I'd definitely come back.

Really liked this place. The service was great, and the food was amazing. The pancakes were super fluffy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place felt clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], Definitely coming back. Also, Thank you to our server. I wish I got his name, but I told him he looks like the kid from shameless "Carl"

We came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is both indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking since it is part of a larger complex.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a bit of a wait for indoor seating as it was raining the day we went so no one was sitting outside. The wait ended up being around 10 to 15 minutes. Once the waitlist moved we were seated pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The indoor space is not huge but it feels cozy and the staff kept everything moving without making it feel rushed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the California omelet with home fries and it was delicious. I did expect the portion to be a little bigger but the omelet was packed with avocado and had great seasoning. The home fries were cooked really well and had good flavor. It comes with two slices of toast and I chose sourdough which made it a good combination. The people I was with ordered the bagel sandwich and the burger. They said both were really good and everything came out hot and fresh. Service was friendly and the food tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. I can see why this place gets busy on weekends - we will definitely be back!

These waffles are crispy, not too sweet, absolutely perfect! Berry Good Waffle is very good... lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love bringing my dog to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is always 100, very friendly.

Cute breakfast spot located in Hayward. Amy's Grill give you the comfort breakfast dinner vibes and flavors. If you want some comfort food for breakfast or lunch they are open from 7 am to 3 pm. Friendly staff with many options on the menu. The service was not as quick as I had hoped for but they do make the orders fresh. The waiter I had seemed a little confused but it might have been a new trainee. Check out Amy's Grill for a decent meal and a nice cozy-comfy breakfast.

The food is amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside and it was so peaceful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I absolutely loved it. The service was very quick and friendly. Highly recommend coming here.

Breakfast Chicken Apple Sausage & Cheese Omelette
Gerald R.

DECENT, LIGHT BREAKFAST I ate here twice. The first time was on a Sunday. Before coming to Amy's Grill & Cafe I previewed the menu. One item that stood was the chicken apple sausage omlette. When the omelette was served I noticed the cheese with a bright yellow color, which concerned me. However the omelette was light with a moist chicken apple sausage. I ordered my hash brown well done, but I liked how the hashbrowns weren't burnt had a golden, brown color on the outside. In the past when I request to have my hashbrowns cooked well done sometimes they taste burnt, but not the hashbrowns I ate at Amy's Grill & Cafe. The second time I ate at Amy's Grill & Cafe was several days later. I knew what I wanted to order - cinnamon apple waffle. I was hoping that waffle with the cinnamon would be similar to churros in texture. I expected the waffle to crispy on the outside, but it was soft. The cinnamon apple topping didn't make the waffle heavy. Overall I was slightly disappointed with the cinnamon apple waffle. The bacon was a nice side order to compliment the waffle. During my two visits at Amy's Grill & Cafe I enjoyed my breakfast dishes. I expected more especially with the chicken sausage omelette and cinnamon apple waffle. Breakfast items at Amy's Grill & Cafe aren't that you become bloated. This place is a nice dining eatery to have pleasant, light breakfast.

We've been coming to this restaurant for years, and every time they exceed our expectations. The service is always quick, and the food consistently tastes amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love their outdoor seating, it's such a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy breakfast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Eric took great care of us today and had us in and out within 40 minutes. We really enjoyed both of our entrées, veggie and cheese omelette and Avocado Toast. We'll definitely be back again for breakfast!

I wish we came back sooner and eat here more often instead of trying mediocre eateries... Amy the owner is still behind the Kitchen doing her THANG... She has alot of loyal customers she know by name. That speaks volume in my books. Me and the wifey came here on a Tuesday 11am ish. It was somewhat busy. They had 2 customers already seated when we arrived. We had the option to sit any were since it had plenty of open seats. We sat inside and they have seats outside if you prefer. Dog friendly outside. I love me some Chicken Fried Staek so that's what I had 5/5. As we was eating people started coming in Any new or the waitress knew who they were already. Saying HI. Questioning them how is the family. Which was a plus for us. Service was fast and easy. Will definitely come back more often. Maybe bring the kids next time! Thank you Amy and crew!

Pancakes, corned beef hash

This is a small cafe located by Sonic in Hayward. It's not part of the strip mall, kind of on the island in the middle of the parking lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's cute! Great atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating. Inside fits about 25 people but laid out nicely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was awesome. We were greeted with a smile and manners by this young man. We were seated right away. The food was good. I had corn beef hash with eggs and hash brown. And it was all cooked exactly the way I want it. Service was friendly during our meal. Prices were reasonable. I recommend this place.

French Roast # 5 French Toast Combo

The French toast combo was delicious. The bacon was high quality and the scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy. The waffle combo and pancake combo were delicious as well. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend.

Everyone seemed friendly and attentive in the place. It was busy! Prices were reasonable. The rolls were fantastic- sweet, warms, soft. And the butter was so good. Take some home! Loved my pulled pork and sweet potato. Baked perfectly! Vegetables were ok. My family loved their steaks to perfection. Fries were good too. I'll be back and ask for Roxy. Her smile was worth a visit too.

A Place I Keep Coming Back To…read more I've been to Texas Roadhouse many times over the years--I just never remembered to take photos until this visit. For me, Texas Roadhouse isn't about finding the most expensive or most luxurious steak. It's about getting together with family or friends, enjoying a cold beer, sharing great appetizers, and having a relaxed meal without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a classic American steakhouse. It's lively, energetic, and always feels welcoming. I also love the open kitchen and the hand-cut steak display when you walk in. Watching the staff prepare fresh steaks adds to the whole experience. One thing I miss is the old bucket of complimentary peanuts. They now come in individual bags, which is definitely cleaner and more hygienic, but I do miss that old-school Texas Roadhouse tradition. The warm fresh-baked rolls with cinnamon butter are still incredible. Honestly, I could probably eat an entire basket before my entrée arrives. My must-order items every single visit: Steak The steaks are consistently good. Are they premium steakhouse quality? No. But they're cooked well, seasoned properly, and offer excellent value for the price. That's exactly why I keep coming back. Cactus Blossom (The Giant Onion Appetizer) This is an absolute MUST. It's surprisingly difficult to find restaurants that serve an onion appetizer this size anymore. Most places either offer onion rings or a much smaller blooming onion. Texas Roadhouse's Cactus Blossom is enormous, beautifully presented, and fried to a perfect golden crisp. Every petal stays crunchy while the onion inside remains sweet and tender. Pair it with their signature dipping sauce, and it's the perfect appetizer to share over drinks. If you're visiting for the first time, don't skip it. It has become one of the signature dishes that keeps me ordering it every visit. Fried Catfish Another item I highly recommend. Crispy on the outside, moist and flaky inside, and surprisingly light. It goes perfectly with a cold beer and good conversation. Loaded Baked Potato Simple but done right--loaded with sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and butter. Comfort food at its best. One thing that deserves special recognition is the service. Every visit, the servers have been friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Drinks are refilled before you even have to ask, and they frequently check in without being intrusive. Great service makes a huge difference, and the staff here consistently delivers. They're absolutely the kind of servers who deserve a generous tip. At the end of the day, Texas Roadhouse isn't trying to compete with high-end steakhouses--and that's perfectly fine. It knows exactly what it is: a fun, casual American steakhouse where people gather to enjoy good food, cold beer, and great company. The steak is consistently good, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, the service is excellent, and the overall experience keeps me coming back. I'll definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

We saw a street parking as soon as we turn, and just parked even though it was 1000 ft away. The drink/cocktail list is vast, but we are not much of a cocktail drinker and not usually drink during lunch, but I saw Matcha Sharka being ordered a lot and the other seemingly popular drink was this lavender drink. If you are a cocktail drinker during lunch, do check them out. We ordered 4 shareable items: * Savoy Donuts - 5 stars - fluffy and yummy, not greasy at all * Focaccia w/ Meyer Lemon and Garlic Confit - 4.5 stars - wonderful texture, did not taste the garlic much but the lemon was really good add. * Grilled Beef and Pork Chipolata - 4 stars - I think the star was the dressing. The meat itself was just okay. * Rice Vermicelli Bowl - 4.5 stars - not sure why it is called a bowl when it was served more in a plate. This is the fusion take on the Vietnamese dish with different dressing. We selected the Galangal Pork, which I did not like as much compared to the usual Vietnamese ones with Lemon Grass. There is a choice to select Lemongrass chicken instead, so you might want to try that. The pork tasted "porky" despite it was thinly cut. I was hoping to try dessert, but we were full so we did not do that. Next time. The restaurant is nicely set, and you can select indoor or outdoor seating. We did make a reservation, but when we arrived there were plenty of tables available. Service was fine, we did not get the "is this your first time" greeting as I heard other tables got. If you want to eat at a place that has good quality and a big enough portion to either share or take home for leftovers then this is the place to go. There were some notable things that we stumbled across in our dining experience. I had noticed that one of the utensils wasn't washed properly so there was a dried up piece of vegetable or something stuck on it. Also I requested my burger to be cooked medium but when I received my order, it was more so well done with no pink in the middle. One of the two pork chop was cooked great, while the other was a little dry and chewy. Regardless, these were things that didn't warrant calling over a server. The thing that mainly put a stain for our restaurant outing at Skillet'z was the service. Upon walking in we were not greeted with a friendly welcoming and when seated they quickly walked away. The lady who took our order did not even look like she wanted to be there, granted I understand that nobody really enjoys having to go to work but if you need to interact with customers, maybe this isn't the occupation for you. While we were eating there was not a single time that anyone came up to us to ask us how we were doing, if we needed anything, or how the food was. There was a moment where it was someone's birthday at another table and I don't think I've ever heard a more unenthusiastic and monotone announcement for a birthday and a lame excuse for a birthday song. They're not going to bother with dropping off a check/bill for the meal so you need to go up to the counter to pay for the food. Once you step up to the counter keep in mind that more than likely you will encounter a rude interaction and a feeling that you were inconveniencing them. Overall I'll more than likely eat from here again, primarily for the food. But maybe next time we'll consider just taking out to go.

The restaurant itself is small and cute, but my mom and I were seated right away at around noonish on Sunday! That might have been because everyone was busy at world cup parties, though. We ordered: - thai iced teas - the khao hom waffle - samosas - roti with curry dip - koong karee The thai teas were unfortunately on the milky side, and weren't very strong tasting. I recommend the lychee iced tea instead! When I used to go, I always got the thai tea pancake but they have since removed it from their menu. Although this was a pretty devastating revelation, I went with their waffle instead. I thought that the waffle still super delicious, and I loved that it had coconut meat cooked into the batter. It comes garnished with fruit and coconut flakes, which was a plus. While I thought it was a delicious choice, I do not think it was a proper replacement for my thai tea pancake. The samosas and roti were both so delicious, flavorful, and savory. The portions aren't huge, but the flavors make up for it. The koong karee was the star of the show! The prawns were so well cooked, and came in the most delicious egg & curry sauce. I loved the vegetables that came in the dish, as well. You can't go wrong with the tiger prawns, and they go so well with some jasmine rice on the side. Overall, we keep coming back for good reason! The food is always so yummy, and I would definitely recommend you give this place a try. I hope they take this review as a plea for them to bring the thai tea pancake back, though! It was that good. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense.
