They forgot to give me the House wrench that goes with it so I didn't check the bag when I opened it when I was there I didn't do it until I got home, so yeah, but I can also make my own ranch too, ‍‍but hidden Valley will do. The ambience was amazing calm music playing I wasn't too busy today. A few people in there and they had two lemonades. They had cucumber, lemonade gross I'm allergic and they had strawberry limeade, but it was at the end of it so I passed on the drink. Another year another burger. I had been here twice in two weeks. Once I had to return my fish burger for false advertisement and it made me sick. The manager gave me some burger bucks to compensate for my experience. I came back to do a combo of my birthday burger and use the burger buck so that I could have a fully compensated meal. Elijah (I hope I remember his name correctly) was very knowledgeable of the coupon/rewards policy and corrected me politely. So I was like cool lets do two transactions and I'll pay the difference. I'm a native Californian who's been in Georgia for many years but my family is still in the bay so on a visit home we went here and the best part of my meal was the shake it was delicious (strawberry) now the burger was just meh, I didn't taste the char at all! Burger King has a better smokiness and the onion rings were too crunchy and had been salted after cooking (no bueno) the fries weren't crispy at all and kind of soggy. Found out last min about their pre-grand opening and it was such a treat! We were welcomed by a very cheerful crew and some of the most kind and friendly staff. Everything was super delicious and fresh. I love how they also pay attention to make sure that extra produce really means extra bc some of the other locations seem to give the same amount. This new location is located within a new condo complex. Tucked inside this condo area is Habit & a soon to be Chipotle restaurant next door. With many staff members at hand. Service was great & ample pepper selections from pepperconi to jalapeño. They also have malt, bbq upon request, & ketchup to choose from. Orders: Ahi Tuna burger-lightly seared with a nice sesame bun. Didn't try it but the posted menu picture is accurate to what you get. Santa Barbara Burger on sourdough- grilled to perfection with a crispy sourdough crunch & added avocado for a creamy texture. Spicy Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw has a nice crispy kick but the coleslaw helped tame the heat. A great sandwich to get if you like a spicy sandwich. Fries were both thick & crispy. The new Habit opened up in August last year, inside is clean and comfortable. We ordered 3 Char burgers to go, the cashier is nice enough to provide a small cup for my daughter to have a drink. This place is still clean and new. It has convenient kiosks inside, but we prefer the convenience of ordering ahead on their website. Their customizations are relatively easy to navigate. Since this location opened up, we've had The Habit more times in the last 3 months than we have probably in the last 3 years despite them being right in Union City and Castro Valley! Typically, with chain restaurants, if you go enough, they're bound to let you down at least once - so far so good though! They have been pretty consistent and yummy every time so far. My recent favorite has been the Santa Barbara Char Sandwich on sourdough. We'll see if they can keep it up as the newness wears off. :) read more

Juicy char burgers are my favorite. I love how they offer whole wheat buns as a substitute for white bread. Another type of customization I often get are unsalted fries. Additionally, I love the sauce bar and toppings offered such as banana peppers, jalapeños, and wedges of lime and lemon. Adding these flavors to your burger can truly elevate the experience and take an already tasty burger another level to be an outstanding burger. First time going here, they've been open a month. I normally love habit but the bread on both our sandwich/burgers was pretty overcooked and very crunchy. The food also took a weirdly long time to come out considering we were the only ones there. BUT the kid working at the front, Kyle, was extremely sweet and hospitable. He took our order, repeated it back perfectly. He came out to the dining room and swept while we were eating, and he even came over to our table to ask how we were doing and if he could take any trash away for us. Keep in mind I noticed probably 8 other employees in there not doing much while he was working. This is the tiniest habit burger I've ever seen lol but it's got everything the bigger ones do. Tiny parking lot and you can't get directly into it from the main street, hopefully at some point they open it up from Foothill. Chipotle next door is still under construction! read more

This was my first visit to this Habit (Currently, my favorite burger joint, since Fuddruckers left the area). I made an online, curbside order. Portobello Char, half/half fries and onion rings and the garlic cauliflower. The beef was tough, chewy and grisly! Even the color was that grayish/brown look- which I attribute to poor quality meats. Unlike other HBGrill burgers, this burger was so "stiff" it barely moved! In all of my previous experiences at other HBG, the meat was tasty, the burger looked almost handmade, and the sandwich was fluid. (Castro Valley, Union City, on the road, Las Vegas...). I was very disappointed. I dislike cheap, chewy, grisly, burgers- YUCK! On to the limp, tasteless cauliflower- a TOTAL disappointment! I reheated it in my toaster oven, added a bit of seasoning and made it tolerable. The half/half onion rings and reg fries were the saving grace- hot, tasty and the onions did not slide out of the rings! In all, this was my first truly disappointing Habit experience. In the future, I will return to my No. 1 in Castro Valley... Always consistently tasty food, clean restaurant and good service... I love their fresh made strawberry limeade style drink instead of soda. It has real bits of fruit and mint. I like the Santa Barbara burger because I love avocado. It's so expensive to add it and this comes with a decent amount of actual sliced fresh avocado and not some cheap prepackaged guacamole type spread cheaper places use instead.
