I came here for some flowers for a friend for her bday & was quoted $30 for a 1/2 dozen & $60 for a dozen. I was going to use cash & while taking my wallet out I asked the guy if they take Apple Pay which he said they do. After giving him my card, he gave me the receipt & I noticed an additional $2.43 which is the charge the store is charging to use the machine. I said to the guy "you should've told me in advance there will be additional charge to use my card because I was going to use cash" I didn't hear what he said or if he said anything at all. As some of you may or may not know, these companies rent those credit card machines & pay a monthly fee. Although I'm already giving you money for my purchase, it's just greed to charge an additional price & not tell every customer or better yet have a sign that says it & it will avoid the surprise when seeing a additional charge on your receipt. It's not even about the cost to be honest, it's the principle of not disclosing it. I know this flower shop has been here over 20+ years & even with this economy & the pandemic they have been able to sustain business, but having ethics is what customers appreciate most. read more

I was supposed to be the recipient of flowers after a death in my family. I received a call alerting me that the flowers had been delivered and where they had been placed. I was at home so I immediately went to check and could not find the delivery. I called back and was asked to confirm with a photo if it was my house, which it was not. I told the person on the phone that they delivered to the wrong address. His response? Well the delivery person is out of the area so see if you can go find them. They didn't realize the flowers were made out to SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS? Despicable and disgusting. read more

This is a pretty nice florist, located right up on Parsons and hillside. What makes this flower shop unique, is that there aren't any other florists in the area.The flowers are good quality, kind of pricey but the flowers are worth it for your love ones. I have used this particular flower shop on numerous occasions, whether it is for my wife's birthday, or our wedding anniversary ,or a day like today Mother's day. Or just on any given day to show her that I love her. I have to admit there variety is really good ,I know for a fact because I buy flowers all the time for my wife, not only from there but were ever I can find some good flowers. So this shop definitely is saviour for people in the jamaica queens area who don't want to travel really far for some good flowers. read more

Their RACIST employee Jose Uemura said "this is why I don't deal with Hispanics" in Spanish. If I could give Zero Stars I would, 1800 flowers uses this local florist to fill their orders, I ordered a NEW & EXCLUSIVE garden-inspired centerpiece by Harry and David & 1800flowers for my daughter's birthday, I ordered at 08:51am the flowers didn't arrive until after 4pm so my daughter had to waste her birthday at home all day. When they arrived, they sent a Grey box, not a harryanddavid box, full of only carnations and 2 old pink roses, it looked nothing like what I ordered. Then they took it upon themselves to edit my card message, they only wrote the second sentence of the message, and they had the nerve to misspell that (see attached photos). I contacted 1800flowers & they said keep the flowers and they would refund me half of my order. At 0215pm today my neighbor sends me a photo of a note the florist (Hillside Floral Design) left "we came to pickup the arrangement, please call 7187397978". I call them and tell them 1800flowers said they will give me a partial refund and at no point did they ever tell me someone from the florist would be picking up the arrangement. The man on the phone from Hillside Floral Design told me that in order to receive a refund I would have to return the arrangement. I told him no one would be home and I was going to contact 1800flowers again regarding this. I call and again 1800flowers reassures me the refund was already processed, not to worry, and the florist shouldn't be returning. At 0840pm on New Years Eve the florist (Jose Uemura, of Hillside Floral Design) AGAIN is back harassing and knocking on the neighbors door, then he comes to the side door where my daughter is just getting in from work demanding the arrangement back. In that exchange Jose, of Hillside Floral Design, tells my daughter "this is why I don't deal with Hispanics" in Spanish. To my fellow new yorkers, especially any people of color, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! He does not like dealing with 'our' kind. read more

I called 1 800 Flowers who uses this flower shop. If I could rate them zero I would!!! My sympathy order arrived late and wasn't what I had ordered. It was a much smaller plant arrangement that looked like it was left over from Easter. I complained to 1 800 Flowers who gave me a refund. However..... The really bad part of this story is that Hillside Floral Design contacted my grieving friend and demanded the money from her! 1800 flowers sent my order here and the arrangement my mother received looked NOTHING like what I picked out. On top of that, the arrangement was much smaller and probably had 6 flowers total. Oh and then multiple flowers were dried up and DYING. Don't waste your money here. There are better florists in the area. read more

The owner was fantastic and offered to go to the intended address to bring a new floral arrangement to replace the original that was lost. I came here for flowers on the day of my friend's fathers funeral. Not a pleasant day-- but i had to pick up some flowers which were moderately priced for their quality. I'd like to give a review for the actual product and establishment-- but i can't because I was taken aback by the cat the owner has by the front door. He's sick, malnourished, and neglected-- his nose was full of crusted blood, he had tumors all over his small body, and his tail was bitten and bloody as well. I asked the owner about this cat and he simply replied that it was "old age". The mere fact that he has a diseased animal ready for humans to possibly interact with is A PROBLEM. I called in to file a claim. NOT FUCKING COOL. Just don't support this place-- if you are into animal welfare. read more

This is the worst florist I have ever dealt with. I made arrangements to send flowers to my mother on her birthday by using their website, since I am in California. On the day of delivery, I called the company to make sure they'd completed the delivery. You can imagine my irritation when I called the florist, and they had not yet delivered the flowers, when it was well past 3pm. I got the distinct impression that they had completely forgotten about the order (which had been placed a week prior), or at the least had not yet even put the arrangement together and sent it out for delivery. Realizing they had screwed up, the florist offered to deliver the flowers to my mother's home, instead of her work address. There is also a significant language barrier, so good luck trying to communicate with them. I learned shortly afterward that they totally f--ked up the home delivery, too. DO NOT use this florist. They are irresponsible, overpriced and totally bush league. read more

This florist is conveniently located on Parsons & Hillside...pretty much right by the F, so it's easy to get to. Went there on a Sunday looking for something that resembled banana leaves which I will be using for baby shower centerpieces. Since they couldn't get banana leaves, the owner was extremely helpful and spent time reviewing various options with me. Prices are very reasonable....I will be returning. read more

The owner was really helpful to show me different ideas what I can do. I ended up ordering 2 Roses Centerpiece and Big Flower Arrangement for this important celebration we are doing for my parents. Flowers arrived it on time and all arrangements was beautiful and fresh flowers was used on my order. My parents kept all flowers and lasted over 7 days. I will definitely come back again....!!! I ordered flowers through a service and they were great but sadly the arrangement was done by this company. Pretty bad when you're wishing that you hadn't ordered them to begin with. maybe they think that since I didn't go directly through them it doesn't matter. It does. Terrible. Liars. Rude. Each year my company sends out Holiday arrangements that they pay in advance for. This year I never received mine. An initial attempt was made, a notice was left, and I called to reschedule delivery for the next day. I informed my landlord, who in turn notified the owner of the deli downstairs, because they always accept delivery of all of my packages. When I called to inquire about redelivery I was told delivery was refused, and a notice was again, left on my door. Neither occurred. The person I spoke to repeatedly interrupted me, and I will make sure my employer knows not to use this florist anymore. read more
