I knew I wanted a "fall-colored" bouquet for my October wedding, but that was about it. I'm not much of a flower person, so I gave Carley (the owner) the creative freedom to do whatever she thought would look good, and she absolutely crushed it. She incorporated beautiful free spirit roses with greenery and sunflowers to make the fall bouquet of my dreams. It was what she calls a "one-sided" bouquet which not only made for a much easier to hold bouquet, but it also decreased the cost. I asked her if she could do a "pocket" boutonnière for my husband after seeing them on TikTok. She said she had never made one but she'd give it a try. It was absolutely perfect. No pesky pins, it just slid right into his suit pocket. When I went to pick it up she had given me a spare regular boutonnière in case the pocket boutonnière didn't work out- so my dad ended up wearing the spare because he was walking me down the aisle. I also ordered a mini boutonnière for my nephew (our ring bearer) and it was the most adorable little thing. Listen, I'm not a review guy, never have been. However,I had such a positive experience with Hillside Flowers and Gifts recently that I want to shout my positive recommendation from a mountain. There are no mountains nearby my apartment, so this Yelp rating was the least I could do. Admittedly, I don't know a thing about flowers. If you want to know how to change a tire or fly fish in Northern Maine, I'm your guy, but flowers?? Not a clue. My wife, Bethel, on the other hand, LOVES flowers. So, with our 30th wedding anniversary fast approaching, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. In a fit of panic, I decided to reach out to Hillside over the phone. After speaking with the owner Carley, my worries were vanquished. Carley, the tall, slender florist, was professional, helpful, and needless to say, really knew her flowers! The arrangement she prepared for Bethel was breathtaking, even for a non-flower guy like myself! In fact, our anniversary was so special that Bethel and I were able to get intimate that evening, an occasion that rarely happens considering our age and physical abilities!
