I am a healthy young female with no chronic conditions and all they want to do is keep sending for blood work. First it was once a year. Now they are saying I need it every 3 months! Why? Then every time I go they are wanting me to get a EKG and a mammogram etc... They are starting to feel like a scam. The check in process is the worst if you are not computer smart then this place is NOT for you! If you can't check in by phone you have to wait for the only tablet they have then ever time you visit you will still have to meter all your info again. They don't have any patients unfortunately saved!! If you have to do a memory thing then you're screwed because if you accidentally hit something it won't let you start again, mainly because they don't know how either!! So again NO computer experience stay away!! The staff is super patient and sweet they just need to change the computer issues for seniors, please! read more

Dr. Vanessa Andrada is great. However, the receptionist seems lost all the time. It seems like every single visit I have they charge me $25. I don't understand how in one visits I get charged a co pay for my doctor and then another co pay for labs. She always says that the charges are going to get removed and then she can't explain why they are charging you again. read more

I went to this office for a new patient well visit (aka physical) and unfortunately had a poor experience. I waited one hour past my appointment visit, was provided the incorrect address and initially showed up to a vacant building, and there is no way to contact this office directly. It appears they use a third party phone service to make appointments or relay messages to the office. I did not feel attended to as the practitioner faced away from me while speaking to me/asking questions and documenting on their computer. I heard staff conversations talking about their "awful work day" and other patient information which is a violation of HIPPA. I was sent to the lab for blood work and urine sample but was given no explanation what the tests were for and prompted the lab tech to tell me when the tests were to only be provided "yes/no" responses. I did receive the referral I requested for a mental health services. I will not be returning for a follow up appointment. read more

My husband and I have been going to Hillside Primary for years. But, after last week we will be shopping around for somewhere new. One of the providers was out on vacation with nobody there to take the extra load. Instead of scheduling half the amount of patients or bringing some help in, they had one provider seeing double the patient load! They were almost 2 hours behind. Very bad business. This is just a blatant disregard for people and their time. Everyone in the waiting room was upset, understandably. Again, we will be looking for a new office. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! My father, brother, and I have had terrible experiences with this office. You cannot reach anyone directly--all calls are routed to India, where communication is difficult and nothing gets resolved. No callbacks, no help with referrals or prescriptions--just frustration! Worse, they don't even offer a Spanish-language option in their phone system, despite San Antonio being over 60% Hispanic. This is unacceptable and discriminatory. As a Registered Nurse and Case Manager, I've dealt with countless clinics and never seen such incompetence. I am reporting them to government agencies for their horrible service and discrimination. Had three referrals made. The referred doctors had to call me back to say the office never received pre-authorization first (needed with an HMO). Hillside had ME call back to see if the referred doctors received the information the second time. After two months they had still yet to straighten up the referral. I changed to a new doctor and had this referral placed and appointment made within two weeks. This office is dirty (Toepperwein). On my first visit, the observation table was old, battered, taped back together, and covered in dust. The sanitary paper roll was just resting on the ground. At the right base of the table was an old dry banana stem! This room looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in over. Floor was dirty in the second room on my second visit. I have to assume these rooms are not sanitized between patients. read more

I'm a new patient. Came here because the reviews on Google were really good. I should have checked Yelp first! I made my initial appointment online, but they cancelled within the hour. A dude called me the next day to schedule a new patient appointment. Ok. Are there no sinks in this place? I have to assume the nurse taking my vitals has clean hands. Same with the Dr. My second visit was for blood work. I walk in and was told to fill out a slip of paper with my name, other personal info, and the time I arrived. While waiting, another patient walks in for blood work to be told to do the same thing. After 10 minutes he gets seen first!! I've now been waiting 35 minutes!!!! This was my 2nd visit with Emily Stansberry. I wasn't impressed with her the first time nor the 2nd time. I had to wait an hour the first time and forty five minutes my last visit before she came in. My first visit was to review my bloodwork and I had to ask her questions to get detailed info because she basically said, everything looks fine. On my second visit, she walked in the room and said..so you're here because you had to change your appointment because of a trip... I stated that is not why I was there and proceeded to tell her why I was there. It's obvious she didn't read my chart before entering the room! She appears to not have a clue what she's doing. I am older and need a more experienced provider. I will not be going back to her again! I could go on and on but I don't think there's enough space for that. I needed a new primary care and scheduled appointments for me and my husband. I arrived excited to meet my new provider only to be completely grossed out by the lobby. I'm not overly picky, but the Evans/Stone Oak location has dirty walls, everything was scratched up, a few mismatched chairs, dirty floors, and a counter with stains all over it. I asked if they were renovating, and they said no. Just ick. I cancelled our appointments on the spot which made me feel awful, but it was THAT gross. The only reason I give it one star is because you have to mark at least one in order to post a review. My previous PCP just retired, so I had to find a new PCP. This clinic is listed on my insurance web page as " in network". In almost 70 years of life, I have NEVER witnessed Or experienced a physician with a worst bedside manner than Dr Nail. She was very rude, and did nothing but complain. Today may have been an isolated incident, but after meeting her, I do not think it is isolated . I have significant chronic health conditions that create a need for me to have PCP, internal medicine, and many specialist. I sail this for the purpose of letting you know I interact with many providers for my care over the years. Like I said earlier, and almost 70 years. I can honestly say she is the WORST. As she is walking me into the exam room, she had a very gruff mannerism, and complaining that one of the.FNPs put me on her schedule as she is the "MD" of the clinic. Before I even sat down, she was complaining, and wanted to know who I was, and why does she have to see me? She told me how she has been at the clinic 35 years, and she already has a full patient load, so she proceeded to take it out on me. Dr. Nail made it abundantly clear, in many ways, that it was late in the day, I was her last patient of the day. She was extremely rude as the only thing she had on her mind, was that she wanted to go home. The MA (medical assistant), had a very polite mannerism about him, however, his grasp of the English language is extremely minimal, which created a significant barrier to care. After I left to go home, it dawned on me, but Dr. Nail has probably been at that clinic for 35 years, because no other Clinic would dare have her on their staff. read more

I'm a big fan. My former primary care dropped our insurance and it was taking forever to try to find a new one since new appointments are generally six months out. Hillside got me in fast and they handled all my needs professionally and quickly. Problems I had been trying to get diagnosed for literally two years--they actually listened and I was right!! I will be honest. I love my doctor. The staff is usually cool at the Blanco location. The only reason I give this a bad review is because I can never get my prescription on time. Last time I called I spoke to a lady named Dahl or Dell. She had me on speaker phone, and I couldn't understand what she was saying because she sounded muffled. So I tried just saying yes to her questions, but then she hung up on me. I tried calling back and was hung up on again. So I tried calling back a third time. Immediately same lady picks up and says,"Sorry I can't hear you, will call you back later.", repeating this sentence like 3 times without pause. I thought maybe there was an issue with the signal, so tried calling back again. Same thing happens, but I speak this time. I realized when I would speak she would stop talking. So she could hear me! So 4 phone calls and I was never able to get my refills. Nobody from Hillside ever called me back. This was Friday. I said I love my doctor at the Blanco clinic, but no matter how good he is, if I can't get my prescriptions refilled it doesn't matter what he prescribed. read more

Hernández is the saving grace for Hillside, along with the amazing woman at the front desk at this location. Hernandez provides quality care and supports his patients. My coworkers and I adore him and I feel so blessed to have found him. If he doesn't have answers, he knows how and where to send his patients. Appointments take about 2hr and then you're on your own till the next visit. Doctors are rushed and if they give you the wrong prescription they won't change it till you come back in. Scheduling is abysmal- they will cancel on you and do t like to let you see another doctor- stay away from these guys read more

I made my daughter an appointment to see the doctor. A college student her time is limited. First the receptionist had not made made the appointment with the doctor but the Nurse practitioner. She had the worst experience in all of her multiple experiences. The NP (female) at the Stone Oak office was so unprofessional and didn't want to give her the one medicine she needed. Later we found out the NP had ordered 5 medicines. Seriously? Had to wonder if she wasn't a pharmacy rep instead o f a PA. She diagnosed her with things way beyond a NP capability. Do not waste your time or money on this office. They are located on Evans Road. I left a review on their Google website they deleted. I called and complained to the office manager. We had been looking for a PCP, lo and behold we found a very good, thorough, knowledgeable & caring doctor through ER Northeast Methodist. Dr Deri Patel is young & funny which reminds us of our oldest daughter as a physician herself. I gave him a hug & told him, my husband & I are grateful to have found him & a heaven sent to us. Perfect location to us, & hopefully they will not move. The staff were awesome as well & no wait at all. More power to his practice & family. read more
