First things first. The owners are friends of our friends and we recently met at a party. With that said, the Town Pump is a GREAT dive bar. Honestly could not have enjoyed it more. First, Julie was our server and she is such a lovely young lady, great service and the perfect amount of attention. I had a ridiculously good bacon burger that mid meal I sent a pic to my grandson to say we need to go there together. I would pay good money for the Sapporo beer tap handle, awesome. I should add great tap selection. Wife loved her BLT and we agreed on how good the onion rings were. Now it is small and has a pool table and that table was busy and loud!!! Now the joint opened in 1941 and has the vintage bar and a vintage clock that is so cool I googled it very awesome, belongs at the Henry Ford Museum -no joke. Also the Strohs bar swag in the men's room needs to be in my basement. read more

Food was great. Came by with family because I heard about the burgers. Liked the vibe of the bar. Service was terrible. Don't wanna knock bars too much as I run a couple in New York, it's hard work. I get it bars get busy. Y'all were not busy last night. Tab was over $100 yet was asked twice with half full drinks are we ready to cash out. Plate taken out of the way while filled with fries. Clearly looked like some regulars wanted the bar seats. Not sure if that's the case but it did really seem to be the reason. We would have stayed for several more drinks and taken great care of the bartender. Still left 20%, but as a visiting industry employee I love matching the bill with bartenders. just left there, absolutely appalled, the OWNER came over and thought both me and my boyfriends drivers license were fake.... We are 21 and 26. Where in turn my boyfriend had gave him his military ID which he STILL thought wasnt enough. he had absolutely no reason to come over to our table. Mind you he had not went over to any other tables to check their identification. he had argued with us for 10 minutes and all he could come up with was less than valid arguments to try to "prove" our drivers license were fake "drivers license doesn't have theses specific numbers on the back" ours are not enhanced so it will not have those numbers on the back, and " you were born in 2000 and that's not right you're not that age" my birth year is 2002 which is STILL over 21, he read it wrong, he called what looked like his son over and threatened to call the police which we responded with " PLEASE DO!" After then they returned our identification and said they were "sure they were fake." We got up and left. This completely put a bad taste in our mouths. If you are a bar OWNER educate yourself on what drivers license's are supposed to look like, or don't own a bar. I couldn't believe they couldn't just admit they were wrong. Tried The Town Pump for the first time today and wasn't disappointed! I'd describe the interior as your basic small town bar, but clean. They have a pool table and a juke box. Tons of beers on tap including some great craft beers. We started with the pepper jack cheese balls and they were delicious. I decided to order from the burger bar where they make you a fresh burger to exactly your liking. You choose the meat, then they have several different kinds of buns, seasoning, sauces, cheeses and toppings to choose from. I also ordered fries. You get to choose from several different seasoned hand cut fries as well. They had garlic parm, Cajun, fajita and a few others. My husband and son ordered the Firehouse Burger which always on special for around $9 including fries. Great deal! Everything was fresh and delicious! Great bar burgers! I couldn't finish my 1/4 pound burger and fries. I will definitely be back! read more

The owners are as useless as a doorknob on a toilet seat, owning a food and beverage establishment is all about consistency. frequently they completely run out of an item.. if it happens to get replaced it's rarely the same product or quality. It's more important to play darts, pool..get hammered and employ talentless hacks who can't cook than to step up the game and focus on quality and consistency. But hey..just another shithole bar in a Long line of shithole bars with half assed owners. Want a real burger and a beer. two meals were fine (not great, just fine) and one meal was inedible, and one was dry and boring. The parm garlic fries were dripping in oil, the oil saturated everything including the sandwich, inedible. The other sandwich was fine, got onion rings, fine. Nothing great, not a "gotta come back for this" meal, but okay. The Cruiser burgers (sliders) were okay. The Roadrunner was boring. Chicken unseasoned and dry. Only ate half because it was not good. The Pump fries appetizer was really not good. Waited forever for them, the potatoes were burned on the skins, the bacon was was overcooked and burnt. Cheese? Meh, cheese flavored substance, not real cheese. No flavor. Requested no onions, they put on onions anyway. So the overwhelming flavor of the appetizer was "burned." I gave it two stars because two of the meals were okay. I think this could be a fun place if you want to play pool, drink and get loud. Won't be going back. read more

Some family members and friends have recently visited this place and it came highly recommended. It's a funky dive bar. My wife and I went there for lunch with my son and his wife. It was LOUD LOUD LOUD at 2pm in the afternoon. People are SCREAMING and acting like fools. We heard the burgers were awesome, so we had burgers. NASTY TINY COLD burger. It was absolutely the worst burger I can remember having. Simply awful. But then again, we only waited for 45 minutes for it. Unbelievable that anybody would like this place for food. The Town Pump is a local's delight. A true dive that drips of character. At 11 AM the place is full of bizarre customers scratching Lotto tickets while drinking screwdrivers in stained glasses. The seats have duct tape over the holes with grease stained menus, wobbly tables and great prices. At night the karaoke crowd drools waiting to sing "Taking Care of Business" for the umteenth time. The waitresses don't show much emotion, flat affects abound, they don't really care but still take your order non-chalantly and, after a little wait, bring back the best dang $3 dollar hamburger on Earth with some hot tasty fries and a frosty glass of beer colder than a well-diggers booty. The prices are cheaper than the #1 Big Mac meal too. Gotta love that. The bar is retro-cool with raised toadstool seats and foot shelf. Starbucks couldn't buy this kinda character with a reverse stock split. The Town Pump is everything commercialized America isn't. That alone makes it worth the trip. Come see a dying breed but remember, it's a dive, in a good way, so set expectations accordingly. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! This place has hands down the best burger in all of Downtown New Baltimore....heck maybe the whole blue water area. My go to is the Cowboy Burger, and they always have an awesome selection of craft beers on draft and in cans/bottles to wash it down. Nevermind. While the place still is and likely always be the very definition of a dive bar, the food is actually surprisingly good for the price. I got a 1/4lb burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapenos and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Good amount of seasoning. Juicy. Hot. Under $5... under $7 with cole slaw and fries. It's not exactly a place you'd take someone with more than four teeth to on a first date, but it's a decent little watering hole in New Baltimore that offers up some enjoyable grub (from what I had). The fries are straight from a freezer bag, so they're nothing to jump up and down about, but overall, for the price, the place is alright. I'd be curious to try something else on the menu next time I come in. Why go to McDonald's when you can get a burger for the same price just about next door at Town Pump? As a last note, it's also nice to see that they finally have some craft beer to choose from... that's always a plus. read more

First and last time, terrible service and all the waitresses have a major attitude. Beyond the terrible service, this bar is completely uncontrolled! Unsafe environment. Fights break out and they serve underage- they look the other way as well! This is not a family oriented business and I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. This is my favorite local dive bar. Great burgers, sandwiches and fish and chips. Everyone is very nice and it is small but comfy inside. I always order the Bacon Cheddar when I order a burger but during Lent the place is jammed pack for the Fish and Chips. Only drawback, if you order your burger "medium" it will come out well done-still delicious, but they just need to keep an eye on the burgers and how long they are cooking them. It is a minor detail when the burger is one of the best bar burgers ever and they even toast the buns too! Great selection of beers to choose from. read more

So I'm going to be perfectly honest and say this has become my wife Krista and my favorite place to eat awesome food, have drinks, enjoy the atmosphere and play jukebox. The owner Eddie is the most amazingly nicest person we have ever met in any establishment. He approached us and asked about our food and experience and was truly concerned about our opinion. We have yet to have a single negative experience coming here and tonight we met the primary cook Lurch (Mark) super great guy and very friendly. He made my fish and chips and cajun fries. AMAZING! I highly recommend anyone in the New Baltimore area and Chesterfield area to stop in and try anything on the menu. You will NOT be disappointed I guarantee. Everything is fresh and made to order and the pricing is better than the other so called upscale new places downtown. Great staff, great food, great drinks and great prices. Went here with a group of 10. They weren't really busy. We got our beverages fairly quickly, but my pint of Guinness was $8.00 !! My second beer they brought the wrong one. Our waitress was very nice and running her tail off, but I think that maybe she was doing the cooking as it took us an hour to get our food. I ordered a wrap and was told that it came with coleslaw and fries. She offered seasoned fries, so I opted for the Cajun. They were very dark, smelled like burnt plastic, and tasted worse. read more
