We had our annual cookie exchange at Tony J's and couldn't have been happier!! There were 10 of us and we only had one waiter. He handled all our drink and food orders with ease. Everything came out at the same time and hot. All the food was delicious!!! The pizza was delicious, I had a chicken wrap. There were a few burgers. All delicious!!! Went here on a busy Detroit Tigers opener and the restaurant was packed, had to park on the side street. They were offering several drink and food specials for the occasion. We were waited on fairly quickly considering how busy they were. Ordered the Italian Calzone and the Philly Cheesesteak Calzone which were both delicious. If we knew how large the calzones were we would have ordered one and split it, they are huge but now we have lunch for tomorrow. The bar is clean with comfortable seating. We had 5 drinks and two large calzones for under $50 including tip. Tony J's is recommended! read more

Meh. This place has potential, but it's not there. The first time I stopped here was in July. It was a busy night, and we sat outside on the patio - where we were ignored for about 15 minutes by every server that passed our table. Ok.. So we left. Decided to try again last night. Not busy at all on a Tuesday, sat outside again, and were waited on promptly. That's better. But while our server was on top of things, idk what they were doing in the kitchen, because it took forever to get two flatbread pizzas. Far too long, really, and at this point we were the only customers on the patio. Had a weak "golden" margarita, which tasted like a regular house margarita. No wonder it was only $4.75. The food wasn't much better. I wanted chips and salsa, but was told that I had to order an $8 app with chips, and three little cups containing guacamole, cheese queso, and salsa. Ok, sounded good, so I did. The guac was processed/store bought, not fresh, and the "queso" I swear was the Tostitos jar stuff, along with the not fresh salsa. Bleah. Also ordered a margerita flatbread, which was ok, but totally lacked any spice, like garlic.. It was very bland, even the tomato sauce on it was bland. We patronize this place a lot, as it's close to our house and Music in the park. The food and service are good, even though lately it seems there is only one waitress for the whole place( indoor/outdoor) regardless of what day of the week or event. Tonight the owner came to sit with a family that were sitting right next to us. The owner is very loud and opinionated. As an owner, you should never sit amongst your customers and talk politics, tell people that even though you're an American citizen you will always think with your Chaldean brain because you're smarter for it. Speak of how men should always have a higher degree than women and make more money than they do. Basically, he couldn't stop talking about how smart he and his family are, yet everything out of his mouth was opinionated and may have been offensive to someone. Nice cozy bar. It's new just stopped in for a beer and watch a little baseball and mostly check it out. Not that big but has a decent beer menu I was drinking the Amber Bock. They are 2.50 a pint not bad. Looks to be a neighborhood hang out. Our server was really nice. Will come back to try some food sometime. read more

You can sum this place up with one word: trash. It's unfortunate because the food is very good. Saint Clair Shores is a young, thriving community and it's places like this with their clientele and personnel that continue to give this city a bad name. Because we brought our children we were completely ignored and other tables were served before us that arrived long after us. The servers were extremely rude and the lack of service was unacceptable. We have dined here MANY times but we won't be returning. read more

No masks, no separating tables, no sanitizer anywhere. Bartenders, waitresses, and cooks never wore masks. Tables not cleaned, people sitting at every table, bar was filled. We never saw them wipe any tables down, people talking loudly. Bathrooms dirty, too. We left and won't be back. This place does not meet any safety protocols. They will be part of the reason we go backwards during this pandemic. Since Hackel won't enforce wearing a mask, I will be more careful where I eat in Macomb County. read more

We used to come here all the time ... almost all the staff we knew have left due to the manager and his attitude and the new staff has left us scratching our heads if they know anything about the service industry. We went in on Friday after a 6 month break. Food was excellent so that is the 1 star ! Momma B aka the cook is the best and we can't say enough good things about the food Service was just ok she was not the best but we still had fun. But we were like hey it was decent let's go back again Next day 4pm my fiancé and I go to have a light dinner, we sit at the bar for a solid 5 minutes while the bartender talked to someone at the end of the bar there was no one else at the bar. The whole dining area has 15 people tops not busy at all. No eye contact no hey I'll be right there no welcome to Tony j's. The cute young red haired waitress did smile at us. But the bartender could not be bothered. She walked by us two times when she tore herself away from her "important " conversation at the end of the bar. We got up and left not one person of the three staff members standing there said one freaking thing. I assume you know why you had only 15 people on Saturday of saint Patrick's day weekend right. ? Have had two very different experiences here. The first time was around 5-6pm on a Friday night. The bar was busy and most seats in restaurant full. Waited 15mins and the bartenders working never acknowledge us so we left. Went two days, Sunday night and got seated outside right away. They had great specials that are ran all day Sunday. $1.75 domestic drafts, $5 apps, $2 bottles. Service was good. read more

Since when does a tap beer costs more than a rum and coke! We sat in the outside area which was dirty, flies all over that we had to shoo away from our mediocre food and fish flies covering a pole within site of my eating. I grew up in the Shores so fish flies are no big deal but clean them every day for pete's sake! Ordered boneless chicken wings that actually had chicken in them but the breading was awful. Services was just OK but not very attentive. We had to wait for the food while we noticed the cook outside smoking! Found this place 2 weeks ago....split a large antipasto salad with the wife...a large is $12.00 it was huge.... fresh ingredants... tasted amazing. Happy hour was till 7pm.... not sure if happy hour is every day or not. Staff very friendly. They dont have a ton of staff so I would assume when its busy they are kind of slow.
