Lots of choices but prices are astronomical. Typically the same bottle of rum that costs $18 at a grocery store, costs $24. One bottle of rum and three bags of ice was $39. Again, great selection so if you're looking for something special great option, otherwise I would shop elsewhere. read more

Came here to find some Irish whiskey and some IPA beer. Three guys running the place could not have been more friendly and helpful. There was an impressive selection of all spirits and beers. We found our favorite Irish whiskey (Glendalough) and our new favorite double IPA (Voodoo Ranger Juice Force) with no difficulty. Prices were reasonable, but finding what you are looking for is priceless. read more

Great shop - up on the hilltop. Very good selection of liquor & beer. I have seen things here that I couldn't find in other package shops in the area. I haven't shopped for wine here but it looks like they have a large selection. Prices are normal for the area. read more

This is a package store not a bar so I dont rate on service but supply and willingness to get you something If they don't have it. But this store has tons! I've found things here I've never seen anywhere else. Prices are better on most items than most liquor stores. There are only two liquor stores in all of Ellijay. This one and Appalachian. The selection and prices are waaaaaay better here than Appalachian. The Asian couple who own it are very kind but be patient with they're limited English. Just remember there are no liquor stores open on Sunday. read more

Have mixed feelings about this place. In one respect, it's an adventure everytime you go in there and the owners are not the most personable people you'll ever meet...(it took 4 years of being a local to have them finally say hello to me). On the other hand, I like to frequent local establishments and if you take your time in there you can find some really good wines that you may not find anywhere else. Prices seem to be competitive however the beer prices seem slightly higher than other places. That said, this seems to be on beers that you cant find somewhere else. Give it a try. Its like an antique/second hand store that you really have to browse through to find the treasures. read more

I've had to stop at this liquor store three times on my way up to a cabin in the Blue Ridge area. As a whole, it's got an ok layout. What you would expect to be the front door is blocked off by a bunch of boxes, but you eventually find the side door. Otherwise, it looks like a standard package store on the inside. The prices are higher than most other liquor stores, but I guess that's because they are one of the last stops for alcohol on your way into the Blue Ridge area. We ended up paying twice what we usually do for mixers and a little more for beer and liquor than usual. The worst part is the service. They tend to be very rude here. While we were shopping around the store, we got a coupon on a bottle of wine that advertised "Buy this bottle of wine and 2 six packs of beer, get $5 off". We decided to take up the deal and get all the items listed. Upon checking out, the cashier (who seemed to be the owner) said the coupon was only for May and was expired. We examined it and said, but it says til August 2012. The cashier took it from our hands, looked at it herself and said "...noooo...", smiled and threw it in the trash. She proceeded to scan all the items while we were dumbstruck as to what just happened. There are several other package stores right down the road that we'll be using from now on. read more

Skip this store, dirty, very unfriendly staff and they have spoiled inventory from 15 years ago that has not been properly turned-, (wine that is now vinegar)- Impossible to walk around or ask for assistance finding anything and it doesn't appear to have any heat or air in the nasty building. I shopped here a couple of times under the old owners and did not like it, the new owners greatly improved the place and organized it so much better that I became a regular shopper here, I am especially grateful to get curbside pick up during Covid 19, I wish however that I could pay over the phone using my credit card as each time I have to leave the card in the trunk of car & they take it Inside to run the card I don't like this as I'm afraid of fraud otherwise I would have given you 5 stars read more

While on vacation we visit this store because it's the closest to our dry county. Store is a bit dirty and help is not always friendly. Overly crowded isles with liquor promotions- hard to navigate. Prices aren't that great either. read more

I called the store because I needed to place a $5,000 dollar liquor order. My first question was "Do you deliver?" After several minutes of the people trying to get someone on the phone to help me, the owner gets on and yells at me, "WE DON'T DELIVER. WE DON'T DELIVER" and hangs up. Well thank you Hilltop Package. I called Appalachian Beverage and received the most personalized service from Brady. He is helping me put together the quantities and brands of the wine, beer and spirits I will need for 150 people. He also suggested working with his wine manager to get me the right wines at the right price. It turns out Georgia law prohibits transport and delivery of alcohol. Hilltop package could have simply stated that instead of hanging up on me. read more

I purchased a bottle of Merlot here last weekend. It was completely corked - tasted like vinegar. Could not find receipt so did not try to take it back. My in-laws who live in Ellijay said they doubted the store would refund or replace the bottle anyway based on prior poor customer service experiences. Either they don't store wine properly or they don't turn their inventory enough. Buy wine before you head to the mountains or buy somewhere else. read more

I often shop here. For the past several times I've been there I have looked for Spanish sherry (Domenq, Tio Pepe, Osborne, etc) fino. I lived in Spain for three years and developed a taste for it. It's rather expensive (about $14 a bottle) but I occasionally "splurge". Today I asked one of the owners about it. He just shook his head and walked away. I won't be back. Very rude. read more
