Service 10/10 I didn't catch her name but she was a young female with glasses and curly hair, she was so attentive and sweet. Tuna melt 8/10 it was good but I wish it had more tuna and cheese. VERY LAID BACK AND PLEASANT! Saw a deer just now (couldn't get a pic of him or her)! Food was good with soft music and birds chirping in the background ! There are views of the golf course, a great view of across Burbank all the way over to Griffith Park! Such a beautiful spot for lunch and, I'm assuming, dinner! We went with a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food. Everything was so tasty! The steak salad was surprisingly good for how cheap it was. My quinoa bowl with grilled chicken was excellent. Last month, Mom passed away, just 2 days prior to her 90th birthday. Along with the myriad other tasks, we needed to find a place to have her Celebration Of Life reception. Since interment would be at Grand View Memorial Cemetery in Glendale, I thought of the Sierra Room inside DeBell's Hilltop Restaurant and Bar--about 10-minutes away. I had attended a COL there about 2 years prior, and had a lovely time. Shauna, the Events Coordinator, was so accommodating! She was fine with us designing our own floor plan for tables setup, and even allowed us to keep a cake chilling in their fridge till it was time to serve it. We chose the buffet option, and the food was quite delicious. And the setting? Stunning. I mean, the view of a golf course in the mountains just off the Room's patio? Wow. I should add that email and phone communication with Shauna couldn't have been better. She responded promptly to both! Nice restaurant bar in the Pasadena-Glendale area surrounded by lush greens and Midwestern older homes. I attended a wedding anniversary of a friend and enjoyed their lavish celebrations, the restaurant sits beside a golf course so prepare to see others playing while you enjoy your steak and salmon-baked dinner. There is enough space for them to dance and enjoy an evening of presentations and speeches by families and friends. I wish, they had more parking and perhaps valet folks to help with the spaces. We attended my cousin's beautiful wedding on a Friday evening. It was a picture perfect evening! The staff were friendly and good at their jobs. They played multiple roles during the entire event. From setting up, bartending, serving the three course meal, and cleaning up. They played a huge role in the success of the memorable event. I hope they are paid well because they were all polite and smiling the entire time! The venue itself sits atop a hillside, hence the name. Lol. Excellent use of space! There was a deck overlooking LA, and the other patio area where we had cocktail hour had a beautiful backdrop of the golf course filled with greenery and tall trees. It drizzled a bit on this evening but the patio kept everyone dry. There were about 9 tables that seated everyone comfortably. Dance floor, DJ booth, and Photobooth were all fitted in the space. Large bar with top shelf offerings, which weren't included in the open bar menu (2 hours), but we're adults, we can buy top shelf drinks if you really wanted it! All in all, I'd recommend this venue for any event! Parking wasn't a problem either. Street parking available as well as parking lot across the street. read more

We sat outside which was okay, so the ambiance was all golf course or weed whacker noise. Not sure how long we waited but the server did come back about an hour and a half after our party of 10 was served. Thirsty by that time we were. Finally tried this place out few days ago with my son. I have been hearing from friends about this place but never been. It's located on a gold course and has great views all around. Great views, friendly service. Smallish menu but everything is done nicely. We go there about once a month. This last time, I had the turkey wrap sandwich with onion rings. The rings were perfect. The sandwich was good but next time I'm going to ask for less turkey and more lettuce. I know - I'm a freak. My friend had the Brussel Sprouts salad and it looked really really good. And I hate Brussel Sprouts. She ate the entire salad with added chicken and said it was really good. My husband had the Fish & Chips - it was way better than it has been in the past. I really wanted to like this place because it's never crowded and it's inexpensive but man I can't remember feeling less welcome in a dining room since my childhood visits to my spinster great aunt who hated kids. The first few Sunday morning visits, I asked for Tobasco sauce with my sandwich ... first time it never came, second time I ate here it came but not after some eye rolling and sighing from the guy I asked for it, and the third time we went to this restaurant I went to grab it myself off the bar as the food was coming ... and also was met with a look of disdain and another eye roll from the same guy (manager?) who was helping bring the plates out. I thought maybe he thought I was mad that I had to get it myself when he shot me that look so I said, "you have your hands full, I didn't want to bother you asking for this." This last time we went, I sneaked to the bar to get it when no one was looking, but the eye rolling and beleaguered sighs came when we asked for an extra setup because the napkin wrapped around one was wet. Yes, it was wet because as I was pouring water for one of my friends at the table, the ice came out real fast and unexpectedly, and some water spilled on the table. But the friend who picked up that napkin didn't know that...she just knew that ew, this is a wet napkin. Would it kill him to just get another napkin for her? Apparently, yes it would. They hate us so bad at this restaurant, I don't know why but when one of my friends was leaving the bathroom and saw them cleaning the table after we left she heard them talking about us. We spilled water on the table (less than 2 Tablespoons) and we were so rude, according to them. And they never brought us a napkin. I never saw any of us being rude but I know we certainly were shocked and felt unwelcome after being huffed at when we actually responded 'yes,' when they asked us if they could get us anything else. The nerve of us! The food is okay but absolutely nothing special. A couple of the servers and one of the busboys ... super friendly and hard working. But these days when restaurants are struggling, I'm going to support the ones that foster a good environment for their customers and staff and and earn repeat business. We won't burden the Hilltop restaurant with our group again. read more

It came out very beautiful with sprawling green grass and lush trees showcasing its scenic mountain views. I got a sweet deal with their ceremony and reception package. There's nothing like it. Trust me, I'm a seasoned accountant who watches every penny so organizing this event meant having a long spreadsheet of all the venues I called for comparison. Nothing beats it. #2 REASONABLY PRICED ENTREES AND AWESOME PACKAGES This was the biggest struggle of all with competitive outdoor venues. OTHER outdoor venues charge an outrageous price just for the wedding ceremony alone with NO FOOD. OTHERS who allow outside catering charge ridiculous kitchen fees and no servers. DeBell, on the other hand, along with Hilltop Restaurant, combines their beautiful outdoor space for ceremony along with fantastic menu packages to choose from. The packages even includes my favorite Chiavari chairs and long table linens (these two are a MUST for me). My guests loved the food so congrats, Chef! I was so blown away by everything they offered. I signed up fast to save the date. Special thanks to the leadership of Meredith Anderson. She has incredible attention to detail, super organized, and responds fast. A FEW SMALL NOTES... they offer golf cart rides for the elders and disabled. They also have an elevator. Two of came here for lunch today. We stood at the check-in for a couple of minutes waiting while five employees stood at the end of the bar chatting and laughing together. I finally waived when one caught my attention and told a young girl people were waiting. She came over and finally sat us. Do your job and stop mingling with the crew. Ordered a cold tuna sandwich which was boring as -ell! Tuna was dry, no Mayo on the bread and had tomato so thinly sliced it was see through. And no pickle spear or pickle slices?? I had a side salad and asked Rheagan, our waitress if the lime vinegariette was good, she said it was excellent. It was not. First, it wasn't a vinegariette, it was a light green cheese based thick goop. Dressing was terrible! Half way through our meal Rheagan flew by and dropped off our check and said she'll take it up when we're ready. Wow! Why the rush? I guess we're not being offered dessert. The food runner was great! Always love going to the Hilltop to sit outside and enjoy the view. Great sandwiches! I always get the tuna melt with tots. The French dip is good too. Our server Jasper went above and beyond today. I don't drink anymore and it's hard to find a good NA beer. He put the extra effort in to find and chill my Heiniken 0.0 in ice. That was amazing, thank you!! Ordered the prime rib dinner, medium rare with baked potato, creamed spinach, and Yorkshire pudding. It also had the butter and sour cream for the potato and au jus and cream horseradish for the prime rib. All the food was excellent. Love the atmosphere. Hilltop Restaurant is located on the second story of the DeBell clubhouse. This restaurant is open daily for breakfast and lunch, offering up American cuisine at a reasonable price. I recommend sitting on the patio if you want spectacular views of the mountains and golf course. Even if you don't golf, this is a great place to enjoy a nice meal. The bar area is a perfect place to catch a game, too. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive. You can also book for private events. every month ex co-workers meet up and have lunch. This month one of the girls chose Hilltop Restaurant. It's a small place, but has indoor and outdoor patio. You can watch the golfers play. Also had a delightful visit from a deer on the greens! The day we went the air was so fresh and crisp. Service was excellent! Food is nicely priced, wont break the bank. Also very casual. I got the BLTA with tater tots. The tater tots were so crispy!!!! The BLTA is just like a BLTA you can make at home. One of the other items was the burger. Indoor has a bar. We came here for my father's birthday. I had made reservations at 12 and had to change it to 12:30 pm and had called around 11:15 am. We arrive within the 10 minute grace period and we had more than half of our party there. The server with sandy blonde hair (didn't get her name) came and asked where the rest of our party was. I let her know they were running late but if we could put our drink and food orders in because I had my two little ones with me. She seemed bothered and annoyed because I guess it's not customary and I politely ask to make an exception. She reluctantly agreed and proceed to take a very long time with our drinks and she didn't even bring out our food, a runner does that. If we needed something we had to ask her (no refills on coffee and when I asked for something on the side, she did not care to note it) but it was the unbelievably kind hostess who was not our server but gave us truly exceptional service when our waitress chose not to. The server then began to pick up the menus that were there for the rest of our party and I told her to hold on, the rest of my party was just arriving. She began again with a hostile attitude saying I was an hour late to my reservation when I clearly called ahead of time to move the timing. She said many people had been wanting our table and I proceed to explain we could have sat anywhere else and that we were flexible. I respectfully called her out on her hostile attitude and she proceeded to gel me she wasn't sorry I felt that way. From that moment, she avoided our table entirely and began to prioritize other tables with what appeared to be members of the golf club. My other half of the party put in drinks with the lovely hostess and only after that did our serve coke back to take their orders. The kind hostess even brought us the person in charge at the time so that we could speak about our experience. However, nice that he showed up, nothing came of it. We thought at least something would be comped or complimentary to make up for a truly disappointing experience, but nothing. The server came out once more to bring my father a little dessert and then gave me the bill and machine so that she didn't have to deal with us anymore (that's after my brother had to ask a runner for our bill). This server could learn a thing or two from the hostess. Beautiful outdoor atmosphere. It was a shame. read more

The worse service I've ever had. I've eaten at the restaurant on several occasion and while the food is pretty good the service is always a nightmare. Today was no exception. While the servers usually get the order correct today they couldn't even do that right. Once you receive the food you'll never see the server again. If you want a drink refill or condiments you'll have to go to the bar and ask. If you want the bill same thing. The strange thing is they aren't even busy. Today there were only people at two other tables besides ours but they still got the order wrong, we never received the condiments we asked for, we never received refills because he never returned to our table then we had to go to the bar to ask for the check. I came to this place for a company Christmas party. I thought I was going to a golf course but it is actually on the De Bell Golf course. The service here was excellent. Great service from all the staff. Gordon and CJ were really great, they made sure we had plenty of drinks. If we did not have something they made sure we got it and quickly. The place has a couple of great patios and you can watch golfers from a few feet away. They are redoing the Putting green for right now but should be ready by 2022 Spring. I do plan on coming back to this place again. This place also has a great view looking over Burbank and in the distance and also looks up to Castaways restaurant just further up the hill. "GET OUT" - The Host Had a great time with my son and five friends on the course today. Wonderful place to play a few rounds. Thought we would head up to the restaurant and enjoy some appetizers, drinks and food. So, we called in a reservation for seven, one table. When we get to the restaurant, the host seated us at separate tables. So, one of us went over to ask the host if we could sit at the larger table that was open. The host informed us that they have a policy that says they can only seat us together if we are more than six and they decided not to count my son as a person. The restaurant at this time was close to empty. We were one of maybe four parties in the restaurant. They refused to allow us to move our tables closer together. They just simply would not accommodate us. So we, understandably frustrated, decided to find another place to eat at. I'm on my way out of the restaurant and I realize that my son is still on the patio with the other half of our party and they didn't realize we were leaving. I begin to go get him when I find myself being yelled at to, "GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!!" I, bewildered at this point, begin telling the host that I'm not leaving until I see my son. The host is still yelling at me to get out. I begin to get emotional, angry. The host of this restaurant who won't accommodate us in any way as it is already, is now no longer allowing me to get my son from the restaurant. I mean this is borderline kidnapping in my mind at this point, right? So, I'm yelling at this guy, too young to be a father, that I'm not moving anywhere until i see my fucking son... and we're just going back and forth.. until the manager walks up and then thank God the rest of the group with my son right after the manager. All i could see or hear was my son. So, I'm not sure what happened after that exactly. I was more focused on getting my son out of there and then making sure that he was alright after seeing whatever he might have seen. This was a traumatizing experience for everyone involved. Would not recommend.. Edit: In response to the business' reply.. First of all, we would not have attempted to spend money at this establishment if we knew that we would not have been seated together from the beginning, hence the initial frustration. Second of all, your logic for splitting up single parties larger than 6 due to covid does not make any sense at all. You are essentially spreading the virus out across the restaurant and maximizing the space at which we are likely to spread the virus. Great thinking... Third of all, this was not the issue. Well, they did and it was a beautiful experience: From the beginning the associates were welcoming and helpful from beginning to end. Food was great! Prices super reasonable . Sexist servers!!!! WAITED OVER AN HOUR (never even took our order for food)!! HAD TO WALK UP TO THE BAR TO GET A SERVERS ATTENTION TO JUST BRING US WATER AND MENUS. I was there with my old grandma and my younger sister, they then served all the MEN (who came after us) and continued to ignore us.
