My daughter suggested this place for brunch on a weekend. When we arrived, there were still plenty of free parking spaces which later on became filled with many cars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to eat outside, so we grabbed a table as soon as we found one. We could have eaten inside as well, but the weather was nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. So many choices to choose from on the menu. Our server was very patient and helpful. The portion size was good, and the presentation was also fine. We really enjoyed the corn bread!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom was nice and clean which is always a plus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Delicious swedish pancakes with berries. The overeasy eggs are cooked perfectly. Hash browns have a prettier presentation than other breakfast places. Generous complimentary corn muffins with honey as a starter, and a cookie desert. Server Veronica is warm, friendly and gave excellent service. 5/5 restaurant. Easy parking with a giant parking lot.

We didn't have reservation which we understood but still didn't try to accommodate. It was confusing because they said they could accommodate our party. Enrique is the manager but was not helpful. I definitely not eat here or will not recommend. It still confusing because they kept writing people name on a list. Update: We ended up at the Broken Compass Tiki and it was awesome. Really friendly staff and great service. They were kid friendly. Looking forward to going again.

Came here during a short trip to Burbank for lunch a bit of time ago. The restaurant was very quiet and my friend and I were the only ones there. It felt a little odd but our experience was still good. The place was clean and nicely decorated with a decent amount of seating inside. Our server was helpful and friendly, and there was nice music playing quietly. I had ordered the burger and my friend got the French dip sandwich. I thought my burger was cooked well and was tasty. We both really liked our food and were definitely satisfied!

I came here before my flight out of Burbank. Tucked away from street view so it was a little hard to find. The outdoor patio is spacious so you can really enjoy it with a big group and/or your dogs! Solo female diner friendly. While I waited for my meal, I was served some mini cornbread- very yummy. The eggs Benedict didn't have much hollandaise sauce , but the eggs were perfectly done. I would recommend this place for breakfast or brunch- very fun vibe

We had a fantastic lunch here and were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. Javier, our waiter, provided exceptional service with a great attitude. We'll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu.

Charlie and Friends was a meet up spot for my family that came from different corners of LA county. Luckily this spot was a hit because it almost made the 40 mins of traffic worth it. To start, the coffee was strong and rich, which is great. I ordered the breathtaking buttermilk pancakes (pancake count is 4) which comes with scrambled egg and bacon. I appreciate that they weren't too sweet nor did it come with any whipped cream since I am a savory pancake girl. It is a lot of food, I ended up taking half of it as leftovers, but it was very tasty and delicious! My brother had the quesadillas and he said that they were flavorful. My mom tried the pesto sandwich, which she enjoyed too! As an appetizer, we had the garlic parmesan fries and the fries were my favorite in between crispy and soft. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Something of note, the restaurant is in a corporate office building, which is cool. The area is lovely and there is a lot of parking[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Also, our waiter was very informative and friendly. Another staff member told us the story of the owners daughter, Charlie. Great service and good food overall, thank you for having us!

Didn't want run of the mill food so opted to try Broken Compass Tiki. When we walked in we were wondering what we were in for. After being taken into the restaurant we both fell in love. The place was so fun, the food was epic and service tremendous. Since our first visit literally 4 months ago, I have taken people 3 different times to this restaurant. I don't live any where near Burbank but in the last few months had the pleasure of being near there and telling friends we had to go! It's so fun to go with first timers. Great vegan options too for my friend who is Vegan and usually gets a salad and fries ha.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

I was a bit put off that you can not get a receipt without giving your phone number, which I, traveling the world, try to avoid. I hate getting advertising messages while trying to sleep. Sadly, my family situation makes it necessary to keep the phone on my nightstand. Service in the restaurant was almost immaculate. He was extremely friendly and helpful - I just wished he had the decency to let us finish our sentences and not brutally cut into sensible conversations for no reason other than asking if we may refill my water or if we wanted to see the desert menu. We were early - 5pm on a Monday, the place filled up later. There was no pressure, waiting five seconds and not interrupting the customer would have achieved much. $22 for a cocktail during happy hour is a high price. They were sensational though, in every aspect - design, content and presentation. I wish I had photographed all of them, not only mine. We shared the large charcuterie plate which was a blast. A bargain actually. I had not expected this. Steaks were grilled to perfection, sides were great. Sadly, my lobster tail was totally overcooked and cold. I was invited. Everyone had a great time - and I did not want to spoil the occasion. I did not say anything. The free dessert for our "birthday child" - she got 81 - was thoughtful and above all, very very delicious. Sadly, the issues were substantial enough to make the cut the 5 stars to 4. Still I highly recommend the place - if you can spare $500 for four.

First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. My friend and I went into this Cafe De Olla on the 17th of this month at 2pm. She met me there and lives in Burbank. I have been here once, I believe back in 2018. It was pretty solid in every way. We were warmly greeted by Erick--the host, standing by the podium and right away he got us a seat inside. After like 5 minutes, Elsa, our server approached us to take our order. My friend and I both felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We opted for a few of their dishes. Tacos Mananeros, came with 4 tacos ($18.95), with 4 complimentary sauces. 2 of the sauces were very spicy and Elsa didn't warn us. We also got the Veggie Omelette with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, topped with avocado and a side order of hash browns. They made the hash browns perfectly. Told her nice and crispy on the top and that's what we got. (18.95). We also shared their French Toast topped with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Blackberries. ($16.95) topped with lots of Whipped Cream (which I love) and a side of syrup. We needed to add more syrup to make the French Toast more moist. The French Toast was a bit dry for our liking. Even the people sitting next to us who ordered the same thing were saying the same. On the flip side, the other 2 dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Great portions for the prices. We also got this drink called Powerful from their smoothies section of the menu. It was called Green Smoothie. Ingredients were the following: blueberries, honey, Greek Vanilla yogurt, avocado and Almond milk. It was simply very refreshing and delicious. My friend wanted some sort of Latte, Espresso, Americano, etc..but they didn't have any of those drinks. All they had was regular & decaf coffee. At first, I asked for Cranberry juice, and Jose, said they only had Apple and Orange juice. We found it a bit odd not to have any of those drinks. Going back to our server Elsa, she was a bit aloof and forgetful. I asked for a bowl of fruit, and it never made it to our table. After we were done eating, I asked for two to-go boxes and a bag, she forgot that too. We had to ask the other employees to get them for us. The same with to-go containers for our sauces. She forgot to bring napkins too. Jose, (our busboy), needs a raise and promotion! This young man read all the ingredients on the Taco menu which came with: bacon & egg, chorizo with potato & eggs, machaka/eggs, & nopaitos/eggs. The writing in their menu was very small. Another server by the name of Angel, truly was an angel. Checked on us while Elsa was taking orders over the phone. They have another location in Monrovia, a gender neutral restroom, place was very clean. Inside was small. It had 10 tables and nice couches with cozy, inspirational decor and pillows. Lovely music playing over head with a nice patio seating. Will I return? Yes, but not anytime soon! Also check for their business hours..

She talked with us casually, which I love, gave us great recommendations, and knew the gluten free offerings forwards and backwards. Not only did she know the menu, she came out with everything we requested in one go, which seems rare anymore in serving. The food here is amazing. From the hostess stand to the bar, it doesn't matter where you are, staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Servers read your vibe well and respond accordingly, providing excellent service for a date night or family/friends gathering.

Think about it: they're running the entire operation behind the scenes- servers, inventory, scheduling, front of house, kitchen area, customers, and putting up with all the nonsense in between, and I know there's a lot of *that* as a former restaurant worker myself! That's why Allison at Finney's is so kick-ass. She runs Finney's flawlessly. I'm a big foodie and hit up lots of different restaurants around LA, and Finney's in Burbank has definitely become my go-to spot. Allison does such a great job of providing a great customer experience from the moment I walk in to paying my tab. It's not just her welcoming demeanor, but it's also the same positive energy I see in the staff when she's running things. It's nice to know there are still places that care about a great customer experience and making you and your friends right at home, especially when you're celebrating with some of your closest friends and creating perhaps some of your final memories of LA.

The host sat us down at a two top. It felt quite small, so we asked if we could move to the booth that just opened up. Very pleased that they didnt even hesitate to let us. We ordered the house IPAs and they were deliciously hoppy. Will be back to try their other house beers for sure. We ordered the brussel sprouts with bacon for our appetizer. The figs was such a nice sweet layer to the crispy, crunch, and tart brussels. Paired well with the bacon too. Ordered the proscuitto with arugula flatbread for our "main". Amazed that it was $14 and it was a pretty big flatbread! I would say that the proscuitto wasnt spread out enough. There were some pieces that didnt have any at all! The proscuitto gave the salty, arugula added a nice pepper flavor, and the honey drizzle gave it a sweetness. Checked all the boxes. Will definitely be back to try more of their bar bites, if not just for that flatbread and beers!
