I was warmly greeted at the hostess station and told to pick any seats. I opted for an umbrellaed table with comfy looking chairs. Our server, Keeley, welcomed us warmly and took our drink orders for fresh squeezed orange juice that was delicious. Our juice arrived with 3 yummy, mini cornbread muffins drizzled with honey I got biscuits and gravy with 2 scrambled eggs and a side of hash browns. Everything was super yummy Eggs were made perfectly. Gravy was creamy and savory. My friend got the breakfast quesadilla with ham and really enjoyed it. Large portions so we both left with doggy bags. Before the check arrived we received some delicious orange cranberry cookies. Omg, we happened to be in Burbank last Saturday to have our windshield replaced so we googled breakfast places near us , I have been to literally hundreds of restaurants in Los Angeles in my 59 years and this was the best breakfast we have had in a long time. We shared a meat lovers omelet and Swedish pancakes that were both amazing, served by Javier who ended up being the icing on the cake, Javier was awesome and super personable with a personality and curly mustache to boot. The service was not great, our server took time to even get us our drink. Not once we got refills water or coffee. Our food was bland and the potatoes were rubbery type of feeling. My family did not like the food at all. It was not even got when we got it. First time coming here we came with my family because it had nice reviews about how the food was good and the service but we were not impress at all. Came here during a short trip to Burbank for lunch a bit of time ago. The restaurant was very quiet and my friend and I were the only ones there. It felt a little odd but our experience was still good. The place was clean and nicely decorated with a decent amount of seating inside. Charlie and Friends was a meet up spot for my family that came from different corners of LA county. Luckily this spot was a hit because it almost made the 40 mins of traffic worth it. To start, the coffee was strong and rich, which is great. I ordered the breathtaking buttermilk pancakes (pancake count is 4) which comes with scrambled egg and bacon. I appreciate that they weren't too sweet nor did it come with any whipped cream since I am a savory pancake girl. It is a lot of food, I ended up taking half of it as leftovers, but it was very tasty and delicious! My brother had the quesadillas and he said that they were flavorful. My mom tried the pesto sandwich, which she enjoyed too! As an appetizer, we had the garlic parmesan fries and the fries were my favorite in between crispy and soft. Nice little cafe in the neighborhood. They begin with wonderful mini corn muffins and a dash of honey. They have home made lemonade my mom loved. Coffee was average and fine. They have a variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Our waiter was seemed super busy as it took far too long for everything. We were only served coffee twice and never checked on while we were eating, So, our experience could have been better if our waiter had more help. Definitely not enough people working there. We came here while visiting California. We were on our way to Universal Studios and wanted to grab a bite before. This lovely gem was close tomorrow hotel. We walked in and were seated. We chose to sit inside but most people were outside. A pet peeve of mine is that a-lot of cafe's/restaurants don't know how to do a seasoned flavorful egg white omelette so I was presently surprised when I took my first few bites! This is a VERY charming place to grab a bite to eat or meet a friend at for breakfast, brunch, or lunch in Burbank's northern Hillside area. The service was friendly and attentive which is pleasant especially when you're getting ready for the day. This place starts you off right! The ambiance is a simple family diner style with simple tables and chairs located inside and outside. Decor is relaxed and homey with a bit of cottage design here and there. Very easy on the eyes. The food is good here! I have yet to find anything that isn't. Even the simple breakfast style is right on the money (which is affordable!). 5 Stars for mostly the service, treats, and atmosphere making a pleasant dining experience. The food is diner food style so we're not winning any awards here but the presentation and expected flavors are creative and eye catching. If you haven't ventured up to Burbank's nice Hillside area above Woodsbury University, you should try this place. A hidden spot next to Woodbury University. It has a cute, spacious outdoor patio as well as indoor seatings. It was pretty empty on a Friday around 10:30am. There were about 2 tables inside and my friends and I were the only table outside. We were greeted by a friendly server who brought out honey glazed cornbread to start. These were so good! Considering how empty the place was, it took a while for us to get our food. Because of this, I think this made us have higher expectations. Everything looked great but tasted not as great. The salmon on the lox bagel was fishy. My friend was not a fan of the honeydew juice, didn't taste like honeydew at all. At the end of the meal, we were given cookies which I'm pretty sure was at least a day old. We all took a bite and put it down. Love the option of BYOB with a corkage fee. Just the uplift I needed after 5 days evacuated to a nearby hotel due to the fires. The menu was filled with so many tempting choices! Dog friendly, very kind staff, quiet ambiance, and decent breakfast food. This place is sort of tucked away in a little nook, a little difficult to find if you're not paying attention. Visited for breakfast on a Saturday and had the buttermilk pancakes with cheesy eggs and bacon. They give you more pancakes than I expected, and they're soft and fluffy while still being thin. The bacon was just how I like it - a little tender and very greasy. And they added the right amount of cheddar per my request to the eggs. A nice area to catch up with people given the quieter atmosphere, definitely recommended for a nice low key gathering. read more
