Different Cheesesteak #1225. Special guest eater Kevin(?). In the video I joke about kidnapping him. - sidebar - if he didn't make it back to Houston I am kidding about the kidnapping - We got the tavern cheesesteak. I liked some things. I didn't like some things. I liked that the bartender recommended the happy hour cheesesteak special. I really liked the aioli on the cheesesteak. I liked that it came with french fries. I liked that we made a new friend at the bar. I think the meat, cheese and aioli deserve a better roll. This particular cheesesteak was oily. Luckily we had the french fries to help balance the oil.

I was here with a large group for a 21st bday bar crawl. We took up a lot of space outside but the server was super kind and patient with our group (we were respectful, promise!) She checked on us frequently and our glasses were never empty. A couple of us got food and it was decent (including a cheesesteak that seemed to be pleasing). But I had the Buffalo chicken tots and they were almost inedible (I can't believe I'm saying this). The tots were few and the blue cheese was the main dish. The concept was there but I think maybe just poorly executed. Service = 5 stars Food = meh

Do not go for brunch! A 10 year old cooks better than this place. Scrambled eggs, how do you mess that up? Cold unbuttered wheat bread and deep fried potato sticks. The eggs come with the shells mixed in. My friend had steak and eggs, the steak was so salty, it tasted like the chef dipped it in a vat of steak seasoning . Service is good and so are drinks . Stop in for drinks and skip the food

Nice neighborhood pub with a good drink selection. Menu had lots of standard pub food and everything hits the spot. Many TVs behind the bar and elsewhere to watch sports and such. Great to sit at the bar or a table, or even outdoor seating as well. Have been twice and both times the burgers were cooked nicely, and good quality toppings on em. Fries are fairly good and decently seasoned. Pretty good hang out spot and nicer overall than some other bars in this neighborhood. Thanks

Was in the area and stumbled across this tavern. There are two entrances to the tavern and you seat your self. The service is decent and they check in on you pretty frequently. I had the Parmesan garlic fries and the Buffalo wings: the fries were on the greasier. The Buffalo wings were delicious. You get 10 wings and they are all fried and seasoned properly. I definitely would come back for the wings and to try other items on their menu.

Came to happy hour drinks with a friend SUPER hungry and knew a burger and fries would be necessary! Hilltown is a great neighborhood bar with no nonsense bartenders and a good pub-style menu. From fried favorites to flights and a great beer list of local favorites, it is easy to see how easy it would be to become a regular here. The Hilltown burger was the salty, savory end of day pick me up that I needed. Covered in caramelized onions and cooked to perfection, I love that it was served in a cute Irish "newspaper" and service was speedy. I look forward to the next time I get to stop by and would recommend for a casual happy hour or evening out!

We went here for the Chelsea Liverpool game. The place was open early for the game and also served breakfast. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The portions were large, seasoned well and good taste overall. We got the loaded tots and the Hilltown omelette. We also got the Irish coffee and mimosa which were very good! The place had a lot of seating and many tvs. The bartender was super nice and we had a really nice time here.

This place continues to be a go to spot for my boyfriend and I. We really like coming here for the games and grabbing dinner. My bf pretty much always orders the fish and chips. It is delicious and you can never go wrong. I wanted to try something new. Most recently we ordered the fried pickles and hilltown flatbread. Pickles we were not a big fan of. Overly fried and was just okay. The flatbread was delicious and I could not stop eating it. Loved all of the flavors and the sauce on top. Great portion size and a dish I would recommend!

There was a small issue in the beginning where we couldn't find someone so we could've a seat outside but that was resolved fast. The food and services were the best. They took our order and within minutes our food came out. Fast service and they kept checking up on us to see if we needed anything. Best experience and the food was delicious. Really recommend this place. Especially during football season because of how great the atmosphere is

Classic bar vibe. Bar was fine, the lethargic bartender couldn't care less if we were there. However, we ordered 2 orders of tots to go and were beyond let down, you see this?

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

Also, they won't stay you until the entire party is there. We waited at the bar for everyone to arrive, where one cocktail was more than enough for me. You definitely get your money's worth, and you should not drive afterward. (I did not.)

The first thing I did was head straight for my favorite, Cantillon from Belgium. This visit, I tried their Kriek LG, a fruited lambic made by adding sour cherries to a two-year-old aged lambic. All I can say is... WOW! Tart, complex, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable. If beer could win an Academy Award, this one would be giving an acceptance speech. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the Thai Curry Mussels, and they were absolutely outstanding. The broth was packed with flavor, and the mussels were cooked perfectly. They easily rank in the top five mussel dishes I've ever had, and I've done my research! Pro tip: Don't make the rookie mistake of eating all the bread first. Save some for the end so you can soak up every last drop of that incredible curry broth at the bottom of the bowl. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The service is always excellent. John usually takes care of us in the back, and he consistently makes the experience even better with great recommendations and friendly service. In side is cozy and friendly! If you live in Philly and haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for? Great beer, amazing food, and outstanding service--this place checks every box. Just be warned: one visit and you'll be planning your next trip back before you even leave.

And it was walking distance from my hotel. Indeed their beer selection was impressive and carried Belgian Tripels, ales and IPAs and the elusive Pliney the Elder on tap at $8.50 a pint. I also learned their food menu boasts some well known choices. However, on this lunch visit the grill was out of service; no burgers, steaks, etc. I pivoted to their popular steamed mussels. A sizable pot of plump mussels in their black shells swimming in their liquor and considerable diced garlic and chopped fresh parsley. Delicious. The meal was accompanied by pommes frites and small slices of baguette for sopping. A chilled pint of Elder finished the monk's testament to excellence. Take a break from the cheesesteak and commit to the Monk. Well worth it.

A quick note for first-time visitors: the restaurant has multiple entrances, and I initially arrived at the back door. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in directing me to the correct entrance. The space has a unique atmosphere. The indoor dining area felt quite dark, but the restaurant appears to have multiple levels, including an upstairs dining area and a bar, which adds to its charm. I started with a cocktail and really enjoyed it. It was fruity, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of alcohol without being overpowering. Based on recommendations, I ordered the burger. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. It could have been cooked better, and overall I wasn't particularly impressed with it. What stood out most was the service. My server was attentive, friendly, and checked in regularly without being intrusive. Overall, The Dandelion offers a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, and great cocktails. While the burger wasn't a standout for me, I'd be willing to return and try other menu items.
