Ten Stone is my favorite neighborhood bar for watching the Sixers games. The bartenders and the people at the bar are very friendly and knowledgeable Sixers fans. Despite the Sixers game being on the bartenders keep the drinks flowing. My glass never sat empty for long. When it comes to food, I'm a sucker for anything with truffles, so I love the truffle popcorn. The cheesesteak eggrolls are also a great rendition of that dish. Crispy outside and plenty of meat and cheese inside. The chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun is also good. The chicken needs to be a bit juicier to take it over the top. The gumbo is also a good dish that will keep you warm in the winter and remind you of New Orleans. Unfortunately, the mac & cheese is terrible. As long as you avoid that dish you will have a good time at Ten Stone. If you come during a Sixers game you never know when you might see me at the bar. read more

Ten Stone is fine. It's a place. It's kinda homey with a nice, welcoming staff. It's a bar with a decent beer list, unremarkable food, and seems to attract the locals, more than some of the trendier places nearby. It's a great option for a lowkey after work beer, especially if the other local places are busy. They do offer a happy hour, too! (though I can't remember the exact deal(s)) The food leaves a little something to be desired. Nachos were soggy, flatbread was super thick and had TONS of cheese, and the edamame was a little cold. We did, however, absolutely devour the truffle parmesan popcorn. For $8 it's a little steep, but it was addicting. They have lots of TVs, lots of bar seats, and it wasn't loud at all during our visit - big wins all around. I do not think it's particularly accessible for individuals with limited mobility, and the entrance is pretty non-descript (or maybe I'm just not observant). It's fine. It's a place. Ten Stone is a neighborhood spot. They offer a variety of drinks with fun frozen cocktail options on occasion. The food menu is pretty basic with some items that are not great, and other's that are delicious and not to be missed. If you're here and don't mind something greasy, the cheesesteak spring rolls are arguably the best food item on the menu. A frequent special is a fajita wrap and that's delicious too! My boyfriend is a huge fan of the wings, but I haven't had them myself. I'd avoid the flatbreads, tacos, and nachos. Not Ten Stone's strong suit, but I think that you could guess that by looking around at the vibe here. If you want a cozy, laid back night inside there are almost always tables and seats at the bar. They also have a back room with a pool table that I did not realize was there the first few times I visited. When it's nice out, the outdoor seating is usually packed. I think the price point is on the higher side for a dive-leaning bar, but I don't mind paying it. read more

I would say this is a really solid place if you want to grab a drink and watch a game. I thought the indoor interior was cute. There were wood benches and lights around the bar. It felt like an elevated dive bar. Service was not the fastest, but everyone was friendly, just don't expect to order and run. It's a good place to enjoy a nice beer or a glass of wine. Food was fine, but maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff? The sweet potato fries were amazing!!! I tried the nachos and the cheeseburger. Popped into this neighborhood bar when visiting a friend. This is your perfect local pub with a great beer selection and good menu. They have specials up on the board. I got the jerk style ribs, and they were very good! It was a healthy portion, so much that my friends didn't think I would finish them, but I did. They fell off the bone! Service here is decent as well. The bartender was also waiting tables, so it wasn't the fastest meal, but he definitely made his rounds. read more

Have been coming here for almost two decades. It's pretty good bar food, decent wine, and a nice mostly neighborhood crowd. Definitely a go-to spot for sports, and platoon football was the draw Sunday night. I order the burger which is consistently good. The tomato that case with it shouldn't have been served. This is the Cheesesteak of the Sixers!! The roll is bakery quality and would be great by itself. Filet Mignon. Yes, Filet Mignon. Nice cubes of Filet Mignon. Great amount of cheese, decent melt. Unfortunately they do not work together. The individual pieces and the 1st couple bites were very good, but, eating it became cumbersome and bready. The roll was too big. The cheese needed to be a sauce because the Cheesesteak was a little dry. I would have liked it served on a plate with bread on side so I could control meat/bread ratio throughout entire meal. Good for a quick and casual lunch/dinner at a laid-back bar, but the food is pretty average. Atmosphere: A sports bar that has been relatively empty whenever I've been (around lunch at ~1pm, around dinner at ~5pm). Pretty dim lighting, your typical relaxed, sports bar feel. The servers are friendly, and the food comes out relatively quickly - I've max waited maybe 20 minutes. Food: Nothing outstanding, but the portion sizes are decent. I've had their steak and grilled shrimp salads before, and they give a good amount of steak and shrimp, which is great (along with a whole lot of romaine). I usually can take leftovers back with me. They also offer Taco Tuesdays for an affordable, half-price taco deal - the shrimp on these tacos were (unfortunately) not grilled, and didn't taste as good as the shrimp that accompanies their salad. Overall: 3 / 5; food seems like what I could prepare by myself, but good for an easy, laid-back meal; generally not too crowded, from my experience. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Seriously, waste neither your money nor your time, Philly is filled with amazing spots and this is NOT one. When I arrived I asked for a drinks menu and was pointed toward a chalkboard across the room I could not read. I told him I couldn't read it from far away and could he tell me what was on draft? He refused to give me any more info than telling me to look across the room (there were about 8 people total there so it is not like he was overrun). In short, Service was surly as HELL, and closed 30 minutes early, and that truly a-hole bartender sassed me unnecessarily at every turn. read more

One of my go to's. I've always popped in for a beer once or twice a week because it's close to where I live. But it's only recently that I've realized how good the food is. There's your standard pub grub, but they also have a creative rotating specials menu. The staff is always friendly, inviting and professional. The clientele is also a big part of what makes this bar great. Lots of neighborhood regulars and they're always friendly and up for a nice chat. It's a very comfortable place to spend a couple hours whether you're a local or just visiting. read more

Ten Store is a chill neighborhood bar. I recently went to Ten Store for a friend's birthday brunch/Eagles game watch. My friend had a large group of people so had a few tables. My husband and I arrived late so missed the whole group ordering process. Everyone was already eating when we got there, so the server did a great job of getting our menus and getting our food/drink orders placed. We weren't sitting at the main tables, so we also missed the group bill. They have a small, but solid beer list. The beer list was rather adorable, written on a piece of paper. Aside from the Cape May Porter Stomp that I had, the Troeggs Mad Elf and Bells Two Hearted are more prevalent in the area this time of year, but still good nonetheless. The beers came almost immediately upon ordering and the food came shortly after. I built my own omelette with onion, pepper, spinach and jack cheese. It came with a side of potatoes that were prepared with peppers and onions. It wasn't the most complicated omelette but they prepared it to standard. It was priced really reasonably. It started at $7 and came with three toppings. Each additional topping was $.50. Cheese wasn't included with the omelette and counted as its own topping, but for $.50 who cares? Nothing was super standout about Ten Stone, but it was a totally solid, casual experience. read more

Really yummy fish tacos. I'm not a beer drinker BUT they served me two beers that were said to be sweet and I got real tipsy off of them. Really great service also. One of the beer was a lambic I think , and the other was a fuille or something like that. I can't get the spelling right but they are sweet beers if you like the taste of sweet things. The area surrounding Ten Stone is a little run-down, so it was a nice surprise to see that the restaurant/bar is bright and cheery inside. When I went on Sunday afternoon, it was fairly crowded. There was only one server and a couple food runners, but the server was very sweet and friendly despite having to take care of all the tables in the front area (in her shoes, I probably would have been a crazed beotch). At her recommendation I got a bloody Mary, which came complete with a garnish stick containing lemon, lime, a red pepper slice, a large shrimp and an olive... the bases were pretty much covered. My boyfriend got the turkey chili, which I couldn't stop eating when it arrived. It was so good! I'll definitely have to go back sometime for lunch or dinner. What a cute place! Update, 4/15/08: I made it back into this place last night and had to give them another star. The bartenders were simply awesome. There were many beers on tap that I was unfamiliar with so one of the guys happily gave me samples galore until I found something I liked. Nice! read more

I ventured here once, hungry and looking for a quick fix. Tenstone did not disappoint. The jerk chicken cheesesteak was flavorful and moist, topped with sauteed onions and mushrooms, smothered in gouda cheese and a mango bbq sauce (I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!). I didn't taste much mango, but the balance of the other flavors and textures was great. I also ordered a side cheese risotto fritters. Not a great fan of these appetizers. I thought that they were too dense and somewhat lacking in flavor. The only redeeming component of the dish was the side spicy rose sauce, which had chunks of carrots and tomatoes. I like Ten Stone - it just happens to be in the same general area as places that I like a lot more. Mostly because other places let me walk around without pants on. Or, at least, they don't have the cojones to stop me when I do it. There are always seats available, and it never gets too fratty. This is a huge plus in my mind, especially given the place's proximity to Rittenhouse and Grad Hospital. The tap selection's really good, too. They've always got something interesting on draught, and, failing that, there's a really good bottle list. I think you can even make your own mix and match six pack and take it away, but that might just be me misremembering. I wish the menu was a little more diverse. The fish tacos were pretty good (and large), but everything else is just alright. I maybe have to try more of their menu items to get a better feel, but nothing really stood out to me when I sample my friends' choices. Overall, Ten Stone is good for a chill night with friends. Or, you know, pregaming for other shenanigan's nearby. read more

Always been meaning to try Ten Stone for months, heard good things, and it being a good spot in a somewhat empty neighborhood. I finally went 2 weeks ago, and loved it!! There were many more draft beers than i expected, and several were nice rare crafts that totally made me happy! After a few rounds of pool, my friend and I ordered some apps. Cheese fondue was really good, served in a huge bowl with an endless pile of bread pieces for dipping. It's seriously a meal in itself to split! We also got cheesesteak egg rolls, which were good too. I love the wide open side area with bar top tables by the fireplace. Makes the bar more cozy and feels less crowded around the actual bar. My favorite is the pool table!! Now I have another spot to play pool, instead of Perch Pub all the time! Love this place. Will be back soon, I want to try more food from the dinner menu. read more

Ten Stone seems to be a no frills bar that has decent food and a good beer selection. I came here with a friend of mine to grab a beer and watch the sixers and ordered some chips and salsa. While this is no great indication of the quality of food they can produce the salsa seemed to be either canned or left over, either way not fresh. The chips were definitely out of a bag and I'm pretty sure the guacamole was just a cup that had the lid pulled off prior to serving. Lastly the prices on their food seem to be through the roof, for example edamame is 8 dollars which is way too high. I would give this place another shot due to their good beer selection and bar vibe but their food may be below par. read more

I consider this to be a very reliable, consistent and underrated bar. They have a good draft selection which is reasonably priced and I believe the food to be really good. The burgers, cheesesteak spring rolls, quesadilla, chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries are some of my favorites! One down side is that the service can be slow at times due to them only having one or two waiters. They're not a brunch spot, but if they advertised then they probably could become one. Although probably a dollar or two more than it should cost, their brunch food is good enough to steal some of the Honey's runoff. One final note, Ten Stone is a great place for hosting an event. You can rent the entire back room including the TV, darts, and pool table for a very affordable rate. read more

You walk in and it looks like a pretty typical crowded smaller sized bar, but then you keep walking and there's two additional rooms! I liked this place because it seemed like the two other rooms never really got too crowded even when the front was filled. There are TVs in all the rooms and there's pool tables in the back. The waitress was cool and would take our order and then put it on our tab at the bar. A lot of places won't do that. We ordered the nachos and by this point we were pretty buzzed but they were good!
