I recently traveled to New Jersey for a few days to visit some family . While I was there I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Bridgewater . I have stayed at other Hilton Garden Inns and this one could use a bit of an upgrade . They do give you complimentary water upon check in. They do offer breakfast but for a fee . However this hotel is located near a lot of shops and it's about 2 miles from the highway . So if you are looking for something that is located in a good area then yes I would tell you to chose this hotel . It was off season so it wasn't overly crowded but I would defiantly suggest upgrading the hotel. There is amble closet space the bathroom is standard and the bedding as well . came here for one night and it was just okay. the amenities were very basic and the tv was quite laggy and didn't really work. i initially booked this hotel for the weekend before i came, but due to complications i had to move it to the weekend after. it was not communicated to me that the cost of staying would be higher, and i only found this out when going to check out. to be honest, i would have been fine with it had i been told. the breakfast was not free though it was advertised to me that it would be. i got 10 dollars off of the breakfast but only because i am a gold member, which wasn't great. overall, not a great experience. read more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites while being in the area for work and was really impressed. The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and everything felt well taken care of. Ely at the front desk was so kind and helpful during my stay. She made check-in quick and easy, and she was always friendly whenever I had a question or needed something. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and takes pride in her work. It's not often that I remember names after a hotel stay since I travel so much, but Ely left such a good impression that I had to mention her. Great experience overall. This is probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The rooms are in desperate need of upgrading. TVs are so old. Horrible quality! Nothing worked! The customer service is less the desirable! Even when I spoke to the manager about checking out and getting a refund for the two nights I would NOT be staying there I was spoken down to! She was rude! Argumentative! Super rude! I stay here every time I travel to Bridgewater, and it was after staying at several other places. It is the best in the area, close food places & a Target (which is big to be-everything I might have forgotten is there). It's super easy to get to and to get to my office. The 5 stars are for the remodeled place. It was nice before but the new rooms are fabulous! So clean & smartly designed. 6 USB ports!! A smart clock radio that hooks up to any device! Huge TV! Only one night - I was here for an event in the area and the group I was with had a block of rooms. I generally like the Hilton Garden Hotels. For the price, you can't beat the size and quality of the rooms. Bridgewater is corporate heaven. This Hilton Garden seems to cater to long-term guests and people relocating to the area. They have a pool, workout room (neither of which I got to see), and other amenities which anyone staying for a while would need. There is a lobby bar - which was packed when I returned from my event. The room was quiet - no noticeable noise in the hall at night. There was a refrigerator, coffee maker, bottled water, and other amenities. I had one issue which was a little confusing. I booked the room over the phone and gave them my credit card number to hold it. They scanned my card when I checked in. I stopped at the desk to let them know I had left the room when I checked out. But, a few hours after I left, they called my home (Chicago) to make sure I knew they needed my credit card number. I called and questioned the hell out of them to make sure this was no scam. It wasn't. Even though they took my card twice, they still needed to take it a third time? While not a deal-breaker, I don't understand how they could have not had my card number. I also stay at Hiltons frequently which makes this even stranger. read more

My experience was good. The breakfast instead of points was nice. I didn't care for the renovation workers but that was morning and I'm not happy with much but coffee and food. The room shower was good, bed comfortable, but the AC unit was quite loud. There is a really good pizza dive not far away as well. read more

I tried to find something to hold back from giving a perfect rating. I really did. But, try as I might, could only reflect on a satisfying stay. This Hilton is completely remodeled. Bright, clean, everything is brand- spankin' new! Rooms that are comfortable, quiet and even come equipped with an assortment of chargers for mobile devices if you need one. Very friendly staff, fast WiFi connection, close to restaurants and shops if you need anything. Nice breakfast buffet, complimentary newspapers, fruit in the morning/cookies in the afternoon. I couldn't ask for more. I'll put it to you this way, you would have to be a bona-fide grinch to find a fault with this Hilton. read more

After checking in I brought up a concern about equipment being left in my rooms bathroom to the attention of the front desk associate and asked if I could move rooms. I was told she couldn't do anything because "She's not a manager" but she would send a handyman to remove the extra equipment. After getting back to my room a second time with the handyman I realized several things were broken in my room. The bathroom light didn't work, the plug cover was coming out of the wall, stains on the carpet, and the phone didn't work. When I went back to the front desk with the hotels handyman she finally moved my room. The next morning I woke up to a construction worker drilling through my wall and using a hammer to break up and remove ceramic tile in the room next to me at approx 8am. I spoke to another front desk associate who was nice enough to offer to change my room again. I packed up my things for a second time and was told to leave them in my room and when I got back that night my new room would be ready with my things in it. That evening I went to get my new room key as instructed earlier that morning and the manager at the front desk gave me the same room keys I had from the previous night (with the construction going on). When I tried to explain it was the same room and tell the story about what happened he became argumentative, making it seem like I was just confused. Finally he looked in the computer and saw what had happened. Now, I get to the new room and my things weren't there. After going back downstairs and getting yet another associate involved I found my things still in the construction room on a different floor. As I was checking out I was happy to see the associate who had actually helped me get the new room after the construction incident who was really professional and apologetic. She told me she had gotten in trouble for switching my room. And that was it, the straw that broke the camel's back. I smiled politely and thanked her profusely but decided at that moment there was no way I could not leave a review to warn others. What a terrible experience. read more

As far as hotels go this place is just about what I expected for the area (nothing spectacular). Stayed here for work. They set up the reservations so I had no say in the matter. I really liked that they offered breakfast in the morning. Not just continental breakfast but eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. Oh yeah omelettes and french toast. It's obvious this hotel is renovated. It has been somewhat modernized. My only gripe about this hotel is that I left my iPhone air pods behind by accident and when I called there to have them check the room the concierge lady said they didn't find them. That tells me that someone else now has my air pods. Long story short, don't leave your high priced electronics sitting out and don't leave anything by accident. So if you're picking up what I'm putting down I done fucked up my dates again. Can I lie and say that writing euro dates vs. US dates is hard? Even when we're talking about dates in the 20's? No. Whatever. Anyway I done goofed on the month again via schomtels. Except this time Matt and Paul had my back. You know what its a hotel. Its near the highway. Its pretty well priced. Man who cares about that, everyone knows the drill. Yes, there is some construction. Yes, its on the noisy side because its NJ, near the highway and all convenient and shit. End of the day I done goofed and Matt and Paul made sure that I didn't feel dumber than I already did. They made sure I had a place to lay my (and my co-worker's) head. They did it cheaper than schmotels. Believe it or not I travel often for work despite my raging inability to tell one month from the other. Next time I have to come to Bridgewater NJ I will be here. Hotel is in good condition considering the last renovation was probably 10 years ago! Signs say rooms are being renovated. Mine wasn't. Common areas were neat and clean as well as my room. Stayed here for a corporate work conference and had such a great stay! The women who do the food service are literal ANGELS and I looked forward to having breakfast every morning just to be greeted by their smiling faces. I always like staying here. The whole place and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. That bed? It's like sleeping on a cloud. Not that I know what that feels like...you get the idea. The conference rooms are also great and the staff is super nice and helpful. There is an indoor pool and hot tub but I tend to avoid it as it's usually full of kids hyped up on candy and splashing around. The breakfast is decent, not something I'd have every morning. The little pantry store can be pricy but they do sell wine, beer, and mini liquor bottles (Tito's!!). The lobby bar is usually open pretty late on the weekends and the bartenders are super sweet. They have hot breakfast but we didn't get to breakfast coz we were still on PDT also they have ice lemon water and fruits at the lobby. Although the hotel is mostly suited for business travelers, its proximity to shops like Target, Costco, supermarkets, 7-Eleven, and some restaurants make it great for out-of-towners as well. The rooms are big and spacious and clean - bed feels like a temper pedic knock-off...it molds to the body but gets soft after a while. There's a knob to adjust the bed's firmness but how does one reach it under the sheet covers and padding. There's a 24-hour pantry with snacks and supplies such as detergent for the $1 quarter washing machine/dryer in case your stay is a bit longer or you need a touchup. Free parking too. BUT, do skip their breakfast altogether especially their breakfast buffet for $10.95. Totally not worth the cost. It reminds me of eating McDonald's deluxe breakfast for half the cost (and ironically is down the block)...the eggs taste the same, OJ from concentrate. And they don't restock the food once it gets emptied. read more

The Hilton Garden Inn is probably the best affordable hotel option in the Bridgewater Raritan area. When you don't want to pay $300/night to stay at the Marriott Bridgewater (why is it so expensive for a hotel in suburban New Jersey?), the Hilton Garden Inn is your best bet. I spent more than 2/3 of my weeks in 2014 staying in this Hilton Garden Inn. The friendly staff is honestly what kept me coming back when I traveled for my work in Raritan. They are some of the most professional hotel staff I have ever met, always greeted me with a smile, and really just went out of their way to make my stay great. I left my a bag there over the weekends, and the staff brought it up to my room before my arrival every week without prompting. It is also close to I-287, making it a easy shot to Morristown or Edison. For business travelers, the proximity to Target, Marshalls, and the Bridgewater mall is great (and slightly dangerous for compulsive shoppers). There are no easy food options in the immediately vicinity, so here are some recommendations: Canton Palace - Great, authentic Chinese food. Good for dinner, whether you eat in or take out. I highly recommend their Cantonese pan fried noodles with chicken. Don't come here to eat Kung Pao chicken; try something off the other parts of the menu or ask the server for his recommendation. Acapulco - Authentic Mexican tacos in an equally authentic setting. Don't discount their decor and stay to try their al pastor (pineapple and pork) and carne (beef) tacos. If you are adventurous, their lengua (Beef tongue) tacos are amazing. Costco - Really. Great for quick and cheap bites in the form of pizza slices, chicken bakes, and berry smoothies. Protip: You don't need a membership to buy their hot food and can just walk in from the exit. read more

Fine hotel. The people were very friendly at the restaurant. The main person seemed to handle both the bar and service. He was very quick to come to the table and made a few good suggestions. Friendly staff, went beyond expectations in restaurant. However, some issues. No heat in our room (251) on 2/26/16. Thermostat didn't work. We made do because it was getting late, had early wake up call for next day. My wife is disabled. The shower had no built in sit down chair. The one in the bathroom was not a four legged roller. It had two legs with clamps for the other side to fasten to the tub. It was not bad but not the sturdiest. The front desk concierge stated that she believed it was the only type available. She would personally walk another up to us if she found one. I brought this up the next day to another front end concierge. She said that the hotel indeed had regular four legged rollers and that they should have been made available. What happened to my follow through? read more

I stayed 2 nights for a work conference. I didn't pay for the room so I can't speak on value. I can speak of everything else. I was there during renovations and it was well communicated in the lobby and on their website. The room was comfortable and clean (I believe I was in a non-updated room). The food was really good for a hotel and I had 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and a dinner there. The staff was really friendly, hardworking and accommodating. The only downside was having construction noise above and around the meeting room. I didn't need to use the a/c and I never touched the thermostat for the heat. I did hear some traffic outside as well as a train often but it didn't bother me after I fell asleep. read more

Horrible customer service, the manager Roslyn clearly needs a training on how to treat all paying guests. Don't waste your money here they don't appreciate the business. Was in the gym for 45 minutes sign on door says two person max ok no one there whole time I'm in there then all of a sudden a couple comes saying how much longer do you have I said 8 minutes they said well we have a reservation,, ummm ok but sign said two person max. They leave all of a sudden the manager Roslyn comes telling me she's sorry I need to leave that they have a reservation for the gym, really I have 8 minutes left there's no other way to make both parties happy? She could of said how much longer do you have, did you happen to see sign on the door, anything nicer than she did. I've never experienced such unprofessional service from a manager. Also upon check in requested a pull away bed for my party of five was told ok they'd send it to room. We left to dinner came back no pull away bed, I called desk and then I'm told it's a fire hazard and they can't accommodate my request. So you booked my reservation for five and now can't accommodate my request. Don't use this hotel they don't value or appreciate you as a Customer. read more

Hotel is overpriced for what they give you. Stayed in a room with a whirlpool. Whirlpool seen its best days and didn't work so well. Kept waking up during the night from a couple motor like sounds. I believe the noises were from cooling systems and whirlpools from nearby rooms. Staff was not overly friendly and things like a razor, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc you have to pay for in the event you happen to forget to pack one. So, bring everything you need and double ear plugs!!! Especially if your staying in room 253. Oh yes, and prepare to pay 50% more than any other similar hotel. Except the other hotels will provide simple toiletries and customer service. Also, bring these issues to the staffs attention won't compensate you at all. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere read more

Ended our two night stay today. Quick check in, free water for us HHonors members. Beautiful lobby, clean and maintained hotel amenity areas. All other entrance doors except front doors are locked at all times, must use key card. Our room 320 was a clean and spacious King with Whirlpool. Keurig single cup brewer in the room along with fridge and microwave. The whirlpool jets could have been stronger. I'm just happy they worked. The AC/Heating was quiet and very responsive. On the second day of our stay, we came back from a funeral service after 4pm to find that no one came in to change towels or turn down the room. We called the front desk for towels and they gave me an excuse that "It's kind of busy down here so we can send some later." No one ever came. I had to run around and find a house keeping attendant and beg for new towels. They did tell us they would honor our request for a late checkout, but after 11am today we had a knock on our door from housekeeping. They need to do a better job tightening up their communication. Every sound in the hallway was audible in our room. We were situated in the corner end of the hallway so I will take that into account. But I will say that this room carried the most noise through the wall and door compared to other rooms I have stayed in. They bring out free coffee in the morning. It's not all day. Breakfast buffet was priced at around $11. There is also a bar. They do have a small shop to purchase wine, small liquors, TV dinners, snacks, batteries, toiletries, etc. There is no shuttle. There are some shopping and food options nearby. It looks like a nice, safe area to stay in too. Wouldn't mind coming back. read more

The beds are very comfortable, shower volume is high, full array of cable channels..and the restaurant is a sleeper!!...try the Japanese dinner special, the miso soup is awesome!! We stayed July 1st to July 5th and had a really great time. The rooms were a bit dated but clean and well kept. The staff really made our stay wonderful. The front desk folks were responsive and friendly. The breakfast wait staff were extremely kind to my baby girl and my elderly mother. Matthew at the front desk deserves a special mention. He was extremely helpful and polite to us while we were hanging out in the lobby with a bottle of wine one evening. I will definitely be staying there again! read more

This five stars is for one particular person. Gabriella(Gaby.) She's one of the ladies that is serving breakfast. I have done my share of traveling and have come across many nice people and of course the rude one's. Gabriella is a sweetheart! From the moment I walked in to when I left. We had a really nice conversation as well. But it was just the way she smiled as I walked in and took care of my needs, since I'm a vegetarian. She was very courteous, friendly, prompt and I could tell that she had that whole breakfast area under control. It was clean, no food spilling into other food bins, nice variety and well organized with other friendly staff in the restaurant. But it was Gabriella that made my morning and gave me the great mood to carry on for the rest of the day. Thank you Gabriella! Terribly dissapointed! For starters they put us down as a no show and gave our room away while we were staying in it. They use the hotel pool for swim lessons. Yes that is right, they do not let customers use the pool so they can do swim lessons. They staff has no clue how to run a hotel and are easily confused. The building reaks of cow poop. Way to overpriced for the quality. Save your money and spend it somehwere else. read more
