We stayed here on July 4 so we could visit friends. As we pulled up to check in 2 fire trucks pulled up. The hotel lost power and people were trapped in elevator. The hotel handled it really well. We tried to check in but were told because of no power we would need to come back later to check in. We went out for the evening and came back around 1130pm. We were promptly checked in and they gave us a discount since we couldn't check in earlier. The room was spotless. The bathroom was extremely clean. The breakfast was very good. All the food was warm and tasty. There were several coffee choices and the coffee was hot. The breakfast wasn't very busy so we had a good choice in tables. Many hotels don't have many tables but this one had plenty of seating. When we checked out the young lady at the desk was very polite and smiling. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed in this hotel for a family funeral during Covid. Extremely clean and we felt safe staying there! Hotel had all the necessary Covid restrictions in place! Beautifully decorated modern lobby (remodeled) with a fireplace and very comfortable couches! The restaurant was closed so we couldn't enjoy the breakfast but they offered us yogurt, fruit, juice, cereal, oatmeal to go.. Rooms were very nice and spacious and beds were comfortable! Amazing- is a great description of the Bridgewater NJ Hampton Inn. We had a long day of travel yesterday and arrived around 6 pm. We were welcomed by Kim. She is probably the friendliest and most helpful staff member I have ever encountered at any hotel. She put a smile on our faces and totally brightened our day. Our room was immaculate and the beds were so comfortable. What more could any tired traveler ask for. This morning we are well rested and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. This might be long, but worth the whole read. It was the worst stay I have been in my entire life. I was having to stay because my home was being worked on. I had pets they said it was fine. The pets were long haired cats. I have two kids and I'm a single parent. I had to door dash food so my kids could even get their work done. The woman knew we had lost 90% of our stuff and seemed compassionate and felt bad we weren't going to even get the insurance to give us the money to get our stuff back. All hell expected by me regardless. Never thought it would be this bad... I will post it in pieces so you get the whole story, but unless you want to get bed bugs and if you don't want your pets to get sick and almost lose their vision... Please do me a favor and save yourself and pets by never coming to this place! read more

If I could give this hotel 100 stars I would. It's an upscale Hampton people! High end work out room with a Peloton and all the stuff! Great public areas for early morning presentation review! If you're driving here from points north or west, your GPS might give you interesting directions, given that you can only access the hotel from US 22 West (a divided highway) or the Foothill Rd. exit/entrance ramp. My GPS didn't realize there was also an entrance-only ramp for the hotel directly off US 22 just past Foothill Rd. In fact, the hotel's website suggests you plug in their street address rather than the hotel name to get the most exact directions. But getting into the parking lot should be your only issue here. The hotel is new, the style is trendy, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The lounge has comfortable seating of several styles and doubles as the breakfast dining area. In the evening there's also a small bar/lounge off that which is open. The rooms are bright, the bathrooms are big, and the beds are comfy. The only area where I'll nitpick just a tad is breakfast. Breakfast itself is fine, you have a lot of choices, and at least on weekends it's staffed by 2. But (a) I couldn't find butter, only margarine, jam, and cream cheese, unless it's kept in the refrigerator, which I didn't check, (b) the toasters are very slow, (c) the lemon poppy seed mini-muffins have a horrible artificial lemon aftetaste, and (d) the staff like to start winding down about 10 minutes to the hour, not replenishing things, taking crock pots away, etc., and they get very "enthusiastic" about taking your plates and plasticware away. Just be aware that if you rush in 5 minutes before breakfast closes, you may not have a lot of options remaining. But these things are pretty minor, and overall I really enjoyed my stay here. read more

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We didn't show up until 8:30pm and we're told that our room was not ready! Kept being told every 30 minutes that it would be ready soon. Then at 10 we finally get keys only to go to the room given and find out someone else was there already!! Very embarrassing. I travel often for business and stay at many Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott properties. I tend to shy away from Hamptons because they are typically run down. This is a NEW location (a bit death deifying to get into off 22 from 287) is clean, neat, rooms are wonderful!! Always seems sold out so reservations are a must ahead of time. read more

Relocating and have stayed at 2 Hamptons, 2 Hiltons a Homewood and a Doubletree in the area this month (so very exhausting) and this property is the leader of the pack so far. We haven't even checked out yet and feel like can safely review it now. The rooms are a bit bigger than most other Hamptons/Hiltons we've stayed at and bed & pillows quite comfortable. The bathroom and shower are a good size with decent water pressure. Only flaw (in most hotels imo) are the attempts at room darkening blinds - almost always a miss at actually blocking out light so darkness requires a bit of effort (hanging blankets or stacking pillows). At this property the bathroom mirror automatic nightlight a bit of a nuisance in that regard too. So why the five stars? Despite one or two minor things noted the pool is open and pretty nice (many other places in the area not so much), the gym is spacious for a property this size and well equipped (again, at other places nearby the gym quality varies from Meh to just a bit scary), the breakfast area is fairly large and the fare provided about the same as that that provided by peers (though lacking fresh fruit like melons & cantaloupe that some others have). But we would have to say the defining key to this Hampton is the desk staff. Each has been friendly, welcoming and very helpful. In this case we have to single out Kat and Gracious as we saw them the most often. Both are professional, personable and just downright friendly. Kat was great at assisting with our check in and has helped make our stay a delight. Each day afterward it has been a pleasure when dealing with them both (along with Keith & Jonathon). To sum up. A good solid place to stay with great people. Definitely recommend Hampton Inn Bridgewater. read more

Made reservation on line. Price advertised was $140.00, had a pet so with taxes and this fee for a pet came to $229.00. Reservation was made through my daughter's credit card at her home in Boston due to the fact we were driving to New England. When we got there the evening of the 26th we were met by 2 young ladies. During their check in process I asked the question 3 times, "The price includes the pet correct" and each time both ladies answered Yes. I also asked for paper work pertaining to this reservation.. and was told that there was none, that the room was paid and if I had a copy of the confirmation that was all I was going to get. I then asked if I could pay the full amount with my credit card and refund my daughter's, their reply to that request was that was not possible and they could not change anything on the original confirmation. I received nothing from them but a room key and signed a pet policy form, and then was told I needed to leave my credit card for incidentals. They then told me that the card would be charged $25.00 and would be refunded when the room was checked after we left. During the night I received a credit card warning telling me someone had made a charged of $344:00 with out having credit card at 4:41 AM. That's right they went and charged me more! I was so upset I even had the Bridgewater Police department come down and make a report. They did absolutely nothing to help me and were totally arrogant and rude. read more

Stayed here for business. I arrive and there was a thunderstorm. Everything done manually because their computers and the elevator go out. I get a room but, no key because they don't have the capacity to make them. The hotel was booked by the company's exec asst for my two colleagues and I through the main corporate card. They ask me for a credit card upon check in given their system was down. I gave my card thinking it was for incidentals. They copy it. They process the card once the system comes up around midnight. They held the full amount which was close to a thousand. Honestly, my card should never have been requested given a card was used to make the reservation and I'm Diamond. I inquired and apparently, there "was no note" to use card held for the room. I find it interesting given I'm a frequent business traveler, I am over 11 yrs Diamond and the card I used to book my room is always the one they use for processing, no questions asked given my status. I immediately escalated to the exec asst at my company, she called the hotel and provided the needed authorization for our rooms to be covered by the Corp card (never needed this process ever in life). Upon returning to the hotel and inquiring if the hold was taken off, I was dismissed. The front desk guy says, there's no note and shrugs. I'm furious. My colleague arriving checks in and the check in was run through the corporate card, no issue. She doesn't even have effin status! Grr... I get them to send me the authorization so I could forward it to the exec asst myself. I do so the next AM as I go to the office. She confirms she completed this process the day before and is confused as to why any of this is needed at all. She calls the hotel. I do an entire full day at the office. No message on my phone. I'm irritated as I have to confront the front desk for a third time. I call. I am told the switch was just made. It's 6pm. So, I've been to the hotel for three days. No apology. I should also see, I have checked my account and was welcomed with fees due to this transaction. Over $120 is NSF fees because this is bills week and this is only my 2nd week at this company. I am beyond irritated. Mistakes happen, I guess but no apology of their blatant oversight and dismissal of actions that were performed incorrectly. read more

Worst reservation policy I've ever experienced. Made reservations for mid-October on August 30th. 37 minutes later I had to cancel. Never told the cancellation policy on phone when I made the reservation. When I cancelled I was told I had to pay for one nights stay as a result. They had the nerve to ask if I read the email sent which would have been irrelevant since it was also after the reservation was made. I've never heard of a policy like this, ever. I will never do business withHampton Inn or any affiliates ever again and I hope this serves as a cautionary tale to others! read more

This is a beautiful Hampton Inn & Suites. It is a new establishment with very modern decor. The decor is tastefully done in metallic and neutral shades. Lighting is perfect throughout. The dining area is especially nice with tea and coffee choices 24 hours a day. Our room had plenty of space for three people complete with two queen size beds, desk, and ottomans. Our room also included a small refrigerator and a microwave as well as a coffee station. The automatic night light that turned on in the bathroom when we turned off the light switch was a great safety feature!Water with lemon and homemade chocolate chip and white chocolate chip cookies were available throughout the day. The front desk staff were very friendly. Special mention to Kim who was helpful, professional, and always provided a warm greeting! Recommend that the breakfast foods that are hot such as eggs and sausage be hot and not just slightly warm. Also, one of the employees working in the dining area seemed to have an illness and was coughing a lot. Recommend that the manager move staff around on days when someone is ill so that someone who may be contagious is not in the general population near the food. Perhaps this person had a condition where they cough a lot. Either way someone who's coughing a lot should not be standing right near where the food is. Parking is widely available. The location is easily accessible. This is a terrific new lodging establishment with wonderful staff and we look forward to returning! read more

BEWARE! This this hotel is a franchise and not owned by Hilton and they do not deal with their customers in a manner in standing with Hilton's good reputation. They operate under the Hilton Brand but are owned by Colwen Hotels. I know this because when I told the manager I was going to reach out to Hilton (I was giving her a chance to fix my issue before I escalated it), she told me go ahead because she doesn't work for them. I also know this after speaking to Hilton directly. This hotel is getting rave reviews because it is shiny and new. Once that wears off, I doubt the reviews will continue to be positive. My story is long and probably won't hold your attention. It involves an excessive 72 hour cancellation window. My lengthy review is on TripAdvisor and you can find it there if you search for the hotel. After dealing with the manager of this hotel I had to reach out to Hilton directly. As an FYI, if you reach out to Hilton they give the hotel 72 business hours to rectify the situation to your satisfaction. If you don't hear from the hotel, you can reach out to Hilton again. I never heard from the hotel and received an email from Hilton saying "We're happy to see that we have been in touch with you and resolved your concerns." I reached out to Hilton again to let them know no one had been in touch with me and nothing had been resolved. It turns out the manager closed the file and her written explanation to Hilton was misleading. In conclusion, Hilton is providing me with a voucher for a 1 night stay (the length of my stay at Bridgewater) at any Hampton Inn over the next 13 months. Please trust me when I say Hampton Inn Bridgewater/AKA Colwen Hotels is sorely lacking in customer service and you should stay away. read more

This was hands down the best Hampton Inn I have stayed in! It's brand new, superbly decorated, staffed with friendly and helpful people, great convenient location, good price... and the ROOM! The beds are as comfortable as mine at home - and the bathrooms are terrific, the shower is like something you would see in a 5 star hotel - super modern, clean, and even the lighting was impressive, right down to the USB ports on the lamps for easy phone charging. We recently made a reservation for our 18-year old son to stay here while he was in NJ. Booking.com and Southwest made the reservation for us at what we thought was a competitive rate. However, when my son went to check in after arriving at the hotel, the desk clerk refused to honor the reservation because my son was under 21. So at 10 pm, they essentially were ready to put my son out on the street, 2000 miles from home. Then the desk clerk said they could put him up at another Hampton Inn at the cost of $25 more per night. Apparently the hotel policy on age required for check in could be "waived" if we were willing to pay more money. My son really had no choice so off he went to stay at another Hampton Inn at $25 more per night. Hilton has responded professionally to my complaints, but has essentially said, sorry, but there is nothing we can do and you should be glad we gave him a room even though it cost you more money. 5/7/17 Let me first say that this is definitely one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed!!!! The decor, the lighting, the furniture are absolutely well put together!!! My husband, son were there for only one night and I just can't say enough about this place. The staff, Kim and Alisha were awesome. Kim was extremely welcoming and helpful. She anticipated my needs before I even asked. Hospitality like this is not often seen at a lot of hotels or in the world in general. And I can't leave out the breakfast. Simply AWESOME! The food was well seasoned while being considerate of various taste buds of the customers. There was a lady that was in the breakfast area providing assistance and she was the sweetest lady ever!!! I'm sorry I didn't get her name because we were rushing to get to an event for my son. But her kindness was not missed. This is a 5 star hotel simply because they earn every star.
