There are not too many options for hotel in Kenneth Square. We reserved one night at Hilton Garden at $285. It is an older building that recently was updated. The lobby and room were modernized and roomy. Water pressure, AC, and WiFi were Strong. Bed and pillowd were comfortable. There is only one small and slow elevator serving the three floors hotel. There were no free breakfast and all day coffee in the lobby for guests. There were in room keurig, microwave, and refrigerator. The location was very good. It was a short drive to Longwood Garden. The hotel was surrounded by eating places. Wal-Mart was right across the street. Overall it was a good stay. read more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights this past weekend as part of a wedding room block. I felt the need to write a review to hopefully boost up their Yelp rating a bit- this hotel was perfectly adequate for our quick stay! Per previous negative reviews, it seems as if the hotel underwent a renovation, but as of Sept 5, 2025 there was no construction happening on site and had a wonderful stay. I was able to check-in via the Hilton Honors app and obtain a digital key, so when we arrived we went straight to the room. The room was comfortable and clean. I appreciated the "clean" soap and shampoo brand that was offered. The water pressure was not as strong as I like, but I acknowledge their water conservation efforts. The elevator was a bit slow, but it was only 3 stories- using the stairs was convenient. Kudos to the manager who went out of his way for my mother-in-law to look for AirPods she accidentally left behind- he searched the room, and because the room had already been turned over he went to the laundry room and searched there as well (they were found)! Perfect location if you are visiting Longwood Gardens (which we did for their Christmas theme). The hotel has a pool which the kids enjoyed and bar/restaurant. The restaurant isn't that big as our entire group took up the entire bar area for breakfast. The rooms are comfy and even the pullout couch was sleepable. The staff here is amazing. We were checking out in a hurry and left behind my daughters prized stuffed Giraffe. After a couple of days of calling and going back and forth they were able to locate her and ship her home. Hostile Management - Manager called the police over a room key! Rating: I have stayed in hotels all over the world, but I have never encountered a property manager as arrogant, demeaning, and power-tripping as the one at this Hilton Garden Inn- Cody Benedetto- We arrived slightly before the 3:00 PM check-in. While waiting for our suite, the lobby was incredibly loud and unprofessional by the staff. My husband actually had to leave the area to find a quiet corner for an important business call because the staff were shouting and the manager was loudly slamming rolls of coins onto the register. When the room was finally ready, the manager refused to give me a key because my name wasn't the primary one on the reservation--even though my husband already had the digital key on his phone. Instead of handling a simple guest request with common sense or hospitality, he chose to escalate the situation immediately. He became hostile, created a scene, and actually called the police on us. The irony? Even the responding police officer was professional and understanding, noting that the manager's behavior was over the top. To make matters worse, this manager then called other local hotels to "blacklist" us from booking elsewhere. This man has no business working in the service industry. He is obsessed with control and has zero interest in guest satisfaction. If you want a stressful, unwelcoming stay where management treats you like a criminal for asking for a key (because my husband was on a very important business call I didn't want to interrupt- in the end- he had to get off the call) stay here. We enjoyed our stay here, and we felt the room was reasonably priced. The room was clean and tidy and was spacious enough. There are a few things of note: If you are going to/from the train station or airport and do not have a car, there are practically NO Ubers or Lyfts available in this area. We almost got stranded there. The front desk staff provided me with a taxi number but the company she gave me did not even service this area. The elevator at this hotel is extremely slow, even though there are only 3 floors. I saw some guests getting frustrated because they were in a rush. Despite a room being about $200, the continental breakfast is NOT included. They do offer free coffee in the lobby, though. I think this hotel is fine overall but it probably in need of updated carpets and elevators. The experience overall met our needs and expectations. Hot tub and pool not heated and it was not working the entire week before our stay, when we told the desk clerk we stayed to use the pool and hot tub and were dressed in our swim suits he said I am not in charge of pool maintenance. I stayed in this hotel after a long trip through the Northeast that brought me eventually through Kennett Square on my way home. I chose it mostly because I have an HHonors membership. The location is convenient to what seems to be the most popular thing in the area, Longwood Gardens. Although, I did not come here for the gardens I found it to be a surprise to see something so popular in the area. I was here strictly to check out a nearby brewery. It's also walking distance from several restaurants and a few chain stores. Price wise, it's a bit high perhaps as a result of the gardens being nearby. I paid over $150 for one night. Staff was fairly helpful and friendly, and I had no issues. Breakfast was included and was an assortment of pre-wrapped items. It was fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and milk, granola bars, etc. There are a few small conference rooms that seem to be used regularly by various groups. The hotel itself seems a little old, with narrow passageways and a single small elevator close to the lobby. If you want to use stairs you have to walk all the way to the end of the hall, which is a bit of an inconvenience if you are elevator adverse or simply don't want to wait for the slow thing. The rooms are comfy, although the carpet is old and the wallpaper could probably use replacing. Just minor things that make it look a little more dingy than you would expect considering the price. But, I understand that the price seems more about the location. All said, it's not a bad place to stay on a last minute decision. read more

The staff at the desk was friendly when I checked in but didn't offer any special advice about the hotel or surrounding area and they certainly have much to offer. She did ask if I had any questions, but if you've never been here before you really don't know what you don't know. I ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. I believe the waitress was fairly new and seemed very unsure of herself but the food was good. We chose this hotel because it had an indoor pool. When we went to the pool, we found that it was closed and would not be open. It has been closed for months. When I called to book this, we were not notified. Their web site still lists an indoor pool. The King room we started out in had a vibration in the wall. It was so loud and intense that I could feel the vibration while sitting on the bed and chair. I could feel the wall vibrate and shake. It was so loud that the front desk moved us to a different room at midnight. The following evening, the shower had no hot water-none, only cold water. I have a goal of seeing all the 50 states with my kids. I save and save and save all year for these road trips. We are a few days into the trip where we can be ahead or behind so I have a few 'need to book a hotel' days scattered throughout the trip. I use the Hotels.com app for all my hotels. They give you a free night after 10 paid nights. We are at Hersey Park and we are making good time where we can press on to Kennett Square for longwood gardens in the morning. Bonus I just hit the free night and I make a mistake! I needed to book that night and the app was on the next night. I caught the mistake asap and got a hold of Hotels.com. John Rey from Hotel.com called the hotel and the hotel would not cancel at all. I literally caught the mistake instantly, got a hold of Hotels.com immediately and the hotel would NOT budge! John Rey even offered to pay a cancellation fee. Marriott Hotels have a market share of 54 Billion, yes that's Billion with B! The Marriott Brothers have a net worth of 1.2 Billion each. The OniX group does 100m of revenue! I hope they are happy with $205 they stole from me. I have never dealt with a company so unwilling to help a single mom and her two kids. I'd have to say that my biggest complaint is the hot water, or that there is none. I've stayed there a few times for business as it is close to my clients, however, this is Kennett Square, PA, and Hilton, so I expect way more. Like hot water or a "hot" tub, lol! Honestly, it's more of a non-solution-oriented business, as they seemed not to care and reply to your concerns with excuses. The staff within the "breakfast area" is lovely as well as the young gentleman with the glasses at the front desk. His smile is worth coming back to. However, so is a warm shower and hot tub after a long day's work. I was advised by the staff to let the water run for at least 30 mins, and if it doesn't get hot, keep waiting. I'm not sure if the township of Kennett Square wants to address that matter. Hilton: Do better! Quality vs. Quantity! Remember we pay good hard earned cash to stay at your facilities. As if the room prices are not high enough, a chintzy continental breakfast that would normally be found in Motel 6 for free has a $7.50 charge attached to it. We stayed here for a Longwood Gardens visit and because Fairfield Inn nearby was fully booked! Loved this nice hotel! Everyone was sincerely courteous and very helpful! I highly recommend getting unlimited breakfast here for $11.99 from 8 to 11am! Omelettes or anything you want that they're currently serving can be made to order! Everything was fresh and delicious! The bed was comfy and is adjustable which can be made softer or firmer with a custom dial on each side of the bed. The pillows on our bed were old and "broken" though so that wasn't very comfy. The water pressure in the shower was low and the handheld shower head didn't work. The AC/Heater unit was very loud too when it comes on. As one reviewer mentioned, the walls are very thin so you can hear everything even the cars on the road. I will be staying here again but will bring our own pillows next time just in case! read more

The reservation policies need reexamining. The reason for my 3 stars is that even though I reserved a King bed on the Hotels.com app, after the agent ran my card the agent tried telling us that the only rooms left were with 2 double beds. Once we expressed our dissatisfaction and asked to speak to a supervisor, she took a walk and then came back asking if we wanted a first or second floor King room. I felt badly for the young agent bc I am sure she was just following orders and was put in the uncomfortable spot. This place is a dump! I've been coming here for over 20 yrs as I've been visiting my step daughter in Unionville. It was fine 20 yrs ago but now is in desperate need of a rehab. The bathrooms and rooms are beyond dated. The carpet and curtains are old and drab. The carpet has spots and the threads are pulled in many places in the room. The hotel is run down. I have stayed here a number of time, however, I will not be returning due to the overwhelming smell of bleach in my room during latest stay. Obviously too much bleach was used and perhaps not rinsed out properly from the bed linens. It was horrible. Luckily I was able to open in the window to get some fresh air in. However, it wasn't enough and inhaling bleach all night made me miserable and I had to listen to trucks speeding by on US 1 all night so I didn't get much sleep. There are Hilton Garden Inns around the country and they are all pretty much the same except for some minor differences. The rooms in this hotel were clean and the beds were comfortable. The air in the room tends to be either hot and dry or chilly as the rooms use forced heat. Couple of negatives for this hotel; 1. The fitness room was a dungeon, overcrowded and dark. 2. The hostess for the breakfast area had the personality of a prison guard and 3. When they added the charge for the breakfast, they created another charge for the room so I have two hotel room charges on my American Express bill...very sloppy! read more

Dont arrive after midnight, they will cancel your reservation! I checked in online with the mobile app in the evening because I knew I would be arriving late. When I arrived at 2:40 AM they were rebooting the system and it took 30 minutes to check in. No key! They had to use a master to get me in because the system was rebooting. Long story short, local management apology sounded like this "Im sorry you feel that way" In his defense, he finished by telling me if I am that unhappy I shouldn't come back. Unbelievable.
