I had a riot at Comfort Inn Lancaster PA. I walked in and my nostrils were assaulted with the splendiferous odours of the spoils of the American upper class. It was...truly breathtaking. After a fit of coughing, I finally entered. The manager greeted me with a cajoling grin. "Caspita!" I exclaimed (I am a member of the Italian mafia). "This is incredible!" "Don't I know it!" Replied the manager. I sauntered into the lobby with a flotilla of leather suitcases bearing suspicious goods from made-up countries. There was a charming fake fire that was somehow pink. I took the elevator to the umpteenth floor. The ding sounded like church bells on my wedding day. I have had three weddings, the first of which caused "quite a ruckus" as they would say in the good old USA. The girl was the daughter of the rival mob leader Federico di Sorrento and began a years long bloodbath across my home town of Whoville in the Southern mountains of Italia. I narrowly escaped and hid in the cargo hold of a Spirit airlines plane bound simply "West". I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and a cardigan (and the law breathing down my neck) ! My favorite poet (other than myself) once said "hope is the thing with feathers." I think hope is the Thing with the Yelp Review Ring and membership in the imaginary mafia. Anyways, my second wife was a woman I met on yelp in good old '17. She was a fair lady, she was, and our marriage lasted a good two weeks before she left me for bluer skies (or greener eyes). Her final slap on the face was giving me 0.5 stars on yelp. It took me years to recover my Yelp status. My third wife was AI. Anyways, I walked into my hotel room and my jaw dropped to the floor. Before me was a scene richer than the plunder of a thousand kings! The lamps shone with the fury of a thousand suns! The plush carpet whispered of goose down and silken tofu. It squelched under my feet like a brackish swamp. The fan whirled with the whimsy of a platoon of flamenco dancers. I fell to my knees and cried, like Columbus coming across Hispañola. Comfort Inns doesn't just rent out four walls, a roof, and a few amenities. It breaks down the walls of your heart, baring your existence so you can discover your deepest self. Only then can you truly let comfort inn (wordplay!). For the first time in my life abroad on the lam, I slept soundly, like a babe in a bassinet . My heartbeat pounded like a boombox when I laid eyes on the vast assortment of delicacies for breakfast. Everything from orange juice to Fruit Loops in a blinding rainbow. After gleefully making my own waffle (what is this? Tiny Chefs Day Camp for young kids??) I plopped myself down, frazzled from the excitement of the previous minutes. My neurons were firing like machine guns, an alarming rate. My eyes goggled at the stew of breakfast items I had acquired. Diversity that puts the Amazon rainforest to shame, I said to no one in particular. The TV blabbered about crises in various forms but luckily no wanted criminals (yours truly ). ATTENTION, ALL COMFORT INNERS!! (I gusss they can't all be winners) I HAVE FOUND THE ACHILLES HEEL IN THE GLOWING INSTITUTION THAT IS COMFORT INN. MY ONLY QUALM is that there was ONLY ONE LIGHTBULB in the lamp for two beds!!! WHAT A CATASTROPHE!! On that note, I must bid addio to you all(I forgot for a hot minute that I'm supposed to be Italian. #breakingthefourthwall). See you on the dark side !! read more

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!! This hotel is situated 8 mins away from old windmill farm, 9 min from sight & sound theatre, & 7 mins from tanger outlets. You can't get closer than that!!! I stayed here for one night and had a very pleasant stay! We had a 2 queen bedroom for 3 adults. Truthfully we barely spent time in the hotel besides to sleep and use the restroom but I loved it. The bed was very comfortable. The room was extremely clean. Lots of parking spots are available onsite. There is also free breakfast in the morning from 630-930 am. There was eggs, sausage, a waffle maker, a toaster for English muffins and bread, coffee, teas, juices, cereals & more. The lobby is very clean & nice as well. This hotel was very affordable and a great stay. I would definitely stay here again. read more

We've used this hotel two times now and it is in a very convenient location to everything we wanted to do and see the staff is excellent very friendly very helpful and just clean out wonderful the rooms are clean and very nice very comfortable. I would like to recognize one of the staff her name is DSEGUI She is absolutely wonderful. She greet you with kind words, smiles and makes everything so nice for your stay. Overall the stay was...fine. We're not talking fancy, modern, or even inviting. It is what it is here at the Comfort Inn - a reasonably priced and clean place to crash. The location left us 5 minutes away from Dutch Wonderland which on this family getaway was the main attraction. In between there were a bevy of national chain places to eat which is super helpful when traveling with kids. Our first floor room was in the back of the property, annoying on the surface but in the end a blessing in disguise. There was a keyed entryway right there as well as ample parking which allowed us to unload mere steps from our room rather than trek through the hallways with kids and belongings. The room also had a back "patio" door that gave us direct access to the pool area. About the pool: it's shallow, it's basic, but it's clean and it gets the job done, plus there were always towels aplenty. Complimentary breakfast was offered each day, an ok selection of hot items (waffle machine, scrambled eggs, rotating offerings of breakfast meats), bread products, cereals, juices etc. basically a continental breakfast plus a little extra. Again, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Staff were super friendly and accommodating every step of the way. Long story short: if you don't go in expecting a 5 star experience you'll do just fine here when in Lancaster. read more

Our room had an extremely strong bad odor. No sign of bedbugs, but friends who were staying in two other rooms the same weekend found them in theirs (this is why we didn't request another room). All of our clothes smell like this odor now. People at the front desk were polite and for the most part our room was clean and stocked with the necessities. Stood here while visiting family with our newborn. Looked pretty clean to me and also smelled clean. Very friendly staff and helpful. Rooms- need to be updated BIG time. Tv is fine, bathrooms functional. The beds are sooooo soft deff not my thing. Pillows I didn't have a problem with. Our ceiling was leaking with rain water thoo and they did have someone come in to stop it , they could have offered to move us to another room ..:. The price was very economical and an ideal location ... however Hspking was extremely unprofessional at 8:50am they (a group of 4) started knocking on door asking ppl if they were leaving. Check out is 11am. As we left our room to get breakfast they asked "u leaving leaving now, what room" they were so loud I could hear them slamming doors and talking to each other outside our room. Pros: Lots of towels /pillows / blanks ... room has a large mini frig - microwave - direct TV with 45" flat screen. Cons: AC unit is old and required to be on 65 to cool the room down / walls are very thin and u can hear everything in the hall and we heard our neighbors TV. Long wait time at the front desk. Staff could be friendlier or have better customer service skills. The bathroom door would not really close without really pulling it. COVID Updates: Pool closed - breakfast is only 1 type of pastry and packet oatmeal... good must be taken back to the room (till Sept 8). No hspking while u stay (we stayed multiple nights) - any items needed must request from the front desk. It was an "okay" experience... nothing special. Wonderfully adorable hotel directly across from the Rockvale Outlets. A bit outdated, but cutely so - a wooden closet door and bathroom shelf. Charming, small, very clean and cozy room. Quiet overall too. We LOVED it. Our king size bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows. Cute, flexible lights next to the bed for reading, etc., too. The bathroom was small but nice and chock full of towels (when do you ever have too many towels in a hotel room?!!) and even had eye makeup remover wipes and a cute square nightlight. Big, modern flat screen tv with many channels. Coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave. Best breakfast at any hotel Ive been to date, including the Hilton's just last month in MN! Really good eggs and sausage links. I also had a (meh) bagel w cream cheese and a Chobani yogurt. MANY other options available, including waffles (make yourself), muffins, cereal, oatmeal (just the packets - not already made) and fresh fruit. Pretty good coffee too. And OMG - my man thought I was a bit nuts . . . almost all I drink is water - theirs (and tap at that!) was REALLY tasty! Lastly, and ever-importantly, great customer service. Easy check in and out (I'm in the CHOICE Rewards program - room 100% free!), and we even got into it 2 hours early - never hurts to ask! Did I say that we LOVED this place! Stay away from the Comfort Inn at Rockvale in Lancaster, PA. ZERO STARS The Comfort Inn has taken a drastic turn for the worse even since the previous general manager, Troy Bresinger was replaced with the current general manager, JODI RODRIGUEZ. Stay away from the Comfort Suites Amish Country in Lancaster, PA because Jodi Rodriguez is also the general manager there. The Comfort Inn is very dirty, has bugs (spiders and ants) and whatever else might be in the room (see pics) and bloodied and stained mattress cover covering the mattress (see pics). CHECK YOUR BED before sleeping in it. You don't know what you might find. The Comfort Inn staff are confrontational especially George who is not helpful to guests but is combative and argumentative with guests. Jodi Rodriguez, general manager, does not return phone calls or respond to emails. You have to call the corporate office to file a complaint about this hotel. The Comfort Inn advised that they do not have housekeeping services except if you stay 4 nights (there is no sign for that). They never clean the room during your stay only when you check out. The only sign they have located at the front desk blames the pandemic for staffing shortages (see pic). THE PANDEMIC IS OVER. It says a lot that there is a staffing shortage at the Comfort Inn and the Comfort Suites Amish Country managed by Jodi Rodriguez. Other Choice hotels provide housekeeping services. We will never stay at this Comfort Inn and any other property managed by Jodi Rodriguez. JODI RODRIGUEZ needs to be retrained and all of her staff on customer service and keeping a clean hotel for their paying guests. read more

First Covid stay, nothing much changed from prior reviews. No hot breakfast anymore due to Covid. My room was clean, bed was comfortable, it has a fridge. Plenty of free parking. Pool WAS open although the website said it was closed due to Covid. The staff didn't believe me, but then saw it online themselves & said they'd amend with the manager. Front desk staff was friendly. Walking distance to American Music Theater across the street. Several restaurants are walkable as well as outlet stores. It's a bargain compared to many other hotels on the touristy Lincoln Highway. read more

Sports teams BEWARE! Stay far away from this hotel! The staff is condescending and rude and the rooms are subpar and doors don't work! Our basketball team checked in and were met with rude staff members. They were far from welcoming. When checking in we noticed that there's quiet hours from 10-8 which is reasonable especially with a group of 13 year olds and their younger siblings. From that we knew to get them winding down by then and in a room so they can still socialize. They have to understand that kids look forward to these trips to spend time with their teammates. The adults were in the breakfast area hanging out and talking and laughing. A couple of times the staff said the kids were playing with their ball but it was before 10. We got them to stop but there was no place for them to play. We got them to be quiet even though it wasn't 10 yet. Right at 10 the staff came to the ADULTS and kicked us out of the tables! They were so rude and unreasonable. My room key would not work and they had to reset it multiple times until it finally did not work at all! They said I would need to wait until the morning to get them to fix it! To me seemed like they preferred that so we can't leave the room and make any noise! We were absolutely not loud! I'm a reasonable adult and know not to be disruptive but they want us to WHISPER! I said I would not wait until tomorrow to get our key fixed so they moved us. He proceeded to say close the door slowly so I don't make any noise! Although, I fully understand not being loud and letting the guests rest but this was too much! A good value. Prices are reasonable, front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. They offered a print out of local restaurants coupons and let us know they had coupons for a few. The hotel is a little older but the reasonable price made up for that. Everthing was very clean and the room was stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. A refrigerator and microwave are in the room too. The bedding was comfortable and it is conveniently located. The breakfast included eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, coffee and a few other things. Terrible customer service, dirty facility, washer/dryer unavailable as well as pool and late checkout Property manager is unreasonable and apparently allowed to operate with total autonomy We were charged a $55.50 "cleaning fee" for entering our room after "checkout" despite the fact that we hadn't checked out and our room key was still active. Cleaning staff informed me that she thought we had left and let it slip that she was told to "throw us out" if we were still in the room. Despite that, she allowed us back into the room to use the shower provided that we did not touch the bedding which we did not. Snagged a room at a great price. Prime location...many shops, outlets and places to eat! There's a nice outdoor pool. The free breakfast had eggs, sausages, muffins, bagels, fruit, yogurt, make your own waffles and more... The AC thankfully blasted cold air. I did find some dirty linens which is why I took away a star but the staff promptly handled it. Thank you Karley! Their pillows are too fluffy and/or lumpy. So if you dont like that, bring your own. It was an average room, though a bit buggy. Dead mosquito on the phone, silverfish and water stain on the ceiling. The bathroom was clean, but the damn soap was awful and dried out my skin. Mattress was MUSH = ZERO sleep, the one thing you want from a hotel or motel! HVAC window unit set to 71. More like 80. I turned it down to 65 but, on heat, it did nothing. Well located near most activities and shopping. Beds are comfortable as are the pillows. Room is averagely clean. SM and husband MM ae pleasant housekeeping staff. Autumn is a lovely hotel front associate. We have been to this hotel regularly, but the name changed from Holiday Inn. Other things have changed too. They give a basic breakfast from 6:30 am thru 9:30 am. This is the first year we were literally chased out of the breakfast area at 930. The woman working there, locks everything up even if you are still seated and want an extra bit of eggs, juice or a yogurt from the little fridge there. She needs to mop the floor and the first day asked us to move which was fine as we went into the lobby area. The second day as we sat in the kitchen area with another couple or two. Those few minutes more she made very loud noises with the changing of the garbage bags, moving of the chairs, not so gentle hints that she was displeased with us sitting there. Sad really. We never had that problem in the past. What's a few more minutes? I like to go to a place that gives you what you are entitled to. We went to the lovely Christmas show across the street at the American Music Theater and it seems if you had a ticket which it states right on the back of it that you can get a 15 % off of the room rate. Yes, we had the tickets, yes it was confirmed when making the reservations, and yet the manager by the name of Lizz Todd-Keppel gave us such a hard time for it. Seems they can only give 15% off one of the two room charges regardless of mathematically it comes out the same as one charge or two. We had given my friend the money up front to pay for the room. You do not need to pay until checkout. We each had to pay individually to get that 15% and then my friend paid me back the money I had laid out, in the form of a check to deposit later. The manager was resistant and initially had said that she did not plan to give us the discount at all since the new rules were that it only applied to certain suites. None of which was stated or written anywhere. Finally, with persistence we got our big 15% off and called it a day. I feel however that it makes me have to fight or flight and have unneeded stress when everything can be pleasant and not an issue. Or to feel that an attempt to resist is just easier to say oh well just let it go already feeling put upon as not of valuable customers. As it was, most people had left after the main of the holidays and the hotel had only 9 room filled. Of which the two we were initially scheduled for when we arrived only one was cleaned. It's those little things that make customers not want to come back. That said, we probably will go back only for our convenience of an adequate rate near where we want to be. But if you are willing to drive a little further there may be nicer places around. read more

The general manager Liz is rude and insensitive and accused my husband and I of lying when we were upset that we didn't get the proper handicapped accessible room that we reserved and confirmed!! The front desk staff showed no empathy about our situation. The only reason I am giving the review 2 stars is because the woman who worked at the breakfast area was incredibly kind and helpful. Our scheduled 2 night stay became a 1 night stay and we transferred to the Hampton Inn where we reserved an accessible room and were given an accessible room. Nasty hotel, nasty staff. Manager Liz argued with us when we said the room smelt odd, (which was being polite). The rooms smelled like cat urine and there were water marks and mildew on the ceiling. Not to mention the stains on the sheets that we didn't even touch!!! If you like rude staff and pee scented rooms come here! We cut our stay short after they insisted they couldn't give us another room, went to the Marriott which was 100000000x better. After staying at the Comfort Inn at the rockvale outlets, I have to say they have the worst customer service. The maid who cleans the room took my sons Disney crocs and when I reported it to the staff, they didn't believe me. Told me to call 911. I called the police and filed a report and the management still did not care. The one thing you always think of a hotel is that it's a safe place, and after my experience here, that is even in question. My son is extremely upset that someone would steal his shoes and I am very disgusted that the hotels general manager Lizz did not care or even offer sympathy. Just said not our problem. Our check In was friendly and professional. The room we stayed in was very clean and the bedding was comfortable. I liked the room darkening shade. Although the complimentary breakfast was standard hotel fare, there was a varied selection and everything was promptly refilled when necessary. Room was clean and had everything we needed, the maid cleaned the first night even though I hung a do not disturb sign (this bothered me, does the maid not understand what do not disturb means?) . I was satisfied with this hotel. In Sept. 2016 my wife and I stayed here for a night after seeing a concert across the street at the American Music Theater. The hotel was nice, even though it is a bit dated. The lobby and breakfast areas are decent and attractive. The room was a little bit smaller than expected, and the bathroom was small, but it was very well equipped and the decor was tasteful. The room includes refrigerator, microwave and coffee. I paid about $120 for the room. I really liked the ease of parking and the fact that the hotel is in the middle of the Rockvale Outlet center. In the morning we shopped at outlet stores, which open at 9:30. We had breakfast at the nearby Waffle House restaurant, just because we are Waffle House fans. This stretch of highway has just about every national chain restaurant you can think of. The hotel is super convenient if you want to shop and dine. I would go back again to this hotel. It's great when combined with a show at American Music Theater. read more

I have never been treated like crap before at any hotel me and my wife are at this hotel right now and we just had breakfast at the hotel and the worer Diane was taking care of this area when we first came in I asked her a question and she acted like she did not hear me .so after that I noticed her talking to other guest and laughing etc So I let that one pass , then me and my wife sat down to eat and before we were leaving I went up to the Danish area and was looking for a cheese Danish and I didn't see one so I asked Diane again if she could help me and my wife was sitting at a table next to one she was cleaning . And Diane said nasty WITH WHAT ! so still trying to be nice if said with the Danish and she turned her head and then went to another table cleaning it down. So I stood there waiting to see if she would come over them she did I asked her about the cheese Danish and she said YOU CAN SEE WEE ONLY HAVE APPLE then she turned and walked away . I called the desk ask for the manager and TROY BRENSINGER came to the phone and I explained what had happened and he was defending her oh sir we have never had any complaints on her she had been here a year and she must be having a bad day .then I asked for his name he gave it and I then said who is above him a day he said the owner and would not give me any further information EXCEPT TO SAY HE WOULD TALK TO HER ABOUT IT .
