I've stayed here previously, and had stellar service two years ago. I honestly can't say what happened, but this stay was rough at best. I'm not a fan of leaving negative reviews, but quite frankly, I was really disappointed in the customer service, stay, and not really seeing the Hilton brand reflected here. The positives: the hotel is clean, it is next to the beach, and it's quite walkable to many places to eat and drink. The negatives: the first night, my AC unit was making a super loud noise that wasn't normal, running very rough and either really hot or really cold. I asked the front desk the next morning if maintenance could take a look, and quite frankly, both were rather rude and direct and acted as if they didn't want to assist. I was very polite, they were not. From there, my door jammed and would not open, also didn't seem to want to help and I was a burden of a guest. From there, my second night, sheets were dropped in my room as if to change, however housekeeping did nothing nor stop by to ask if I'd like service. Of the three nights I was there, I had nothing when it's supposed to be every other day. Finally, as a Hilton Honors member, I selected the daily food and beverage credit in my account. It was initially applied as points and had to be refunded instead upon check out. I want to love this hotel so much because my past two business trips were so wonderful, I came back a third time for a weekend vacation and it was rough at best.

Wow! What a gorgeous and well-maintained Garden Inn!!! We're Diamond members, so we stay a lot Hilton properties and this one is solid. We travel with two retired service pups, they are true family members and go everywhere with us. We are currently on a bucket list trip for Mona as she has cancer. She said that she loves that our room is close to the rear dog area for bathroom breaks with potty garbage can, the towels are super fluffy from her hot bath after she swam in the ocean, that allow dogs on leash at the beach, and finally the bed...front desk provided a super soft sheet to lay on top of the bed. Sometimes I sleep with my parents and sometimes on my travel bed. This is a comfy mattress at this Hilton. Love, Mona

On second day, they were replacing a pipe, had to shut down the water. Took them all day to replace it, and then a bust pipe! It resulted in a disaster, there was no water all day and night. Worst nightmare. The water finally came back on the next day... for a few hours, then water shut off again! This time, I was told that their landscaping guy broke the pipe. It was really bad timing because it was one day before thanksgiving. Good that it only took a couple of hours to fix it this time. At least they did something right by offering partial discount (50% off of that one night). Every employee was nice and friendly except the house keeping lady who did our room. We greeted her, but she never greeted us back, always poker face. She only cleaned the drain in the shower one time, leave the hair in the drain for the rest of our stay. She didn't give us clean towels every day, didn't clean the trash bin in the shower. I never had this bad experience before. We booked the thanksgiving meal at the hotel, the meal was good as a buffet style food. Only one hour to dine, as they rotated the tables every hour. It cost us $50 per person plus taxes and tips, alcohol drinks not included. The meal was good, but I will not do it again. Breakfast not included in the room rate.

Don't mistake St Augustine Beach for St Augustine Florida. They're two different places about 20 mi apart. I'm not saying St Augustine Beach is not a good place, it's just not a great place to visit in the winter. Prices here were significantly lower than in St Augustine.

We -- along with six other families -- were left waiting in the lobby for nearly two hours past check-in, with staff unable or unwilling to provide a realistic estimate of when a room would be ready. Simply stating that the hotel was at full occupancy is not an excuse -- it is a failure of planning and management. This situation reflects inefficient and lazy management. Late checkouts were clearly oversold without regard for incoming guests, and there was no urgency, accountability, or proactive communication. Guests were left in limbo while management avoided taking responsibility for the problem they created. For a Courtyard/Marriott property, this level of operational disorganization and disregard for guests is unacceptable. We will not be returning and would caution others to reconsider staying here if timely check-in matters.

Unfortunately that's the extent of good things I have to say about this hotel. Walking in the room had a musty smell. The bathroom was dirty with random hairs all over. There was no dresser or any way to put your clothing away except the 4 hangers. We called guest services and they said they would bring a dresser up. What they brought was a nightstand that looked like it was bought off Temu. After going back down to the front desk we were told that there are no rooms with any dressers and we could not get any additional hangers. Furniture was in bad condition and definitely not worth the price they were charging. The room was not cheap, but it felt as if we were staying in a Motel 6.

They have beautiful paintings, sculptures, and a variety of other things like jewelry and beautiful stained glass window decorations. I bought a beautiful one for myself. The shop is right next to the St Augustine pier so it's right on the beach! Awesome! What a great place to just stop by when you are at the farmer's market or getting some tan-on while enjoying the beach. You can park in the pier parking lot and look for them right next to the pavilion on the north side. A little touch and go to find, but they are tucked in right next to the water. If you really can't find them just look for the fire trucks on the street just north of the pier parking lot, follow that side road to the end, take a right and you are at the gallery. But there isn't really much parking there, so try and get a spot in the big lot. But the gallery is definitely worth the work. There is street parking or on one of the side streets and walk in.
