Hilton Hotels are always a safe bet in terms of comfort, quality, and courtesy. In town for a beach front wedding, we stayed at the Hilton Oceanfront for the weekend and for the most part were pleased with our stay. Our parents experienced an air conditioning breakdown in the middle of the night. Apparently their AC froze over and had to be turned off for hours to unfreeze. They were not happy and were left in the uncomfortability of a hot Florida night, right before a wedding. The hotel did, however, give them 4 free breakfast buffets because of their inconvenience so they were quite happy with the exchange. The decor of our room was nice, but a bit outdated. The room was well kept, clean, and had a nice flat screen tv. The only real issue I had with the room was that the sheets were a bit stained and old. They were obviously cleaned, but my feeling is that once linen is stained, it's best to just toss it out so your guests don't think you use dirty linens. Also, for a room that accommodated 4 people, we were only given 2 bath towels and had to repeatedly track down the maid for the additional ones. The pool was nice, but extremely crowded most of the time we were there. The hot tub was relaxing... but there was so much sand on the bottom that you felt like you were in the ocean. The area closes at 10, so maybe they should think about cleaning the area out. Like any hotel, the restaurant was overpriced and not worth the cost, but if you didn't want to leave the hotel at least the food was decent. Our air conditioner broke our last night there, refusing to go below 78 and rising every hour. We called down to the desk, but given the late hour, the only person they sent up was a security guard to show us how to work the thermostat, which to us felt a bit insulting. We knew how to work it, we had been there for a few days by then, it just didn't work. She said the same thing and brought us up a fan. Two hours later, we were completely drenched in sweat given the temperature and we requested another fan. The hotel offered to switch our rooms, but with two sleeping children and a morning check-out, we figured we'd just deal. Really, there was nothing the staff there could do. What I don't understand is why you wouldn't keep a maintenance worker on staff 24/7 in a hotel on the beachfront of Florida. AC problems are notorious, so it can't be shocking that rooms would have theirs breakdown. Upon checkout, they apologized for the inconvenience, offered us 4 free breakfasts (like they had with our parents) and comped our room for the night of our troubles. They took down our information, which to us seemed redundant given that it was already in their system, and said they would be mailing a check out within the next few weeks. The staff was pleasant, the amenities not bad, and the AC that last night, terrible. Still, their customer service was pretty good and they definitely know how to accommodate their guests when things go awry. read more

Friendly staff and always kept clean. Convenient that it has a restaurant inside the hotel available for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a seperate bar area. Only complaint would be that with the main road right there, I couldnt keep my door open to enjoy the sound of the ocean because of the noise of all the cars driving by. read more

I stayed here for a few days while in Melbourne for a beachfront wedding about 10 miles south of the Hilton. We got a great rate on the hotel and were pleasantly surprised to see that it was right on the beach, had great beachfront views, was clean and just plain lovely. Unfortunately, however, our bedrooms never got made up. Well, not until our second (and last) day, after repeatedly asking for it to happen. Even that day, we had to specifically call to have it made up after the maid knocked on the door during a brief return to shower and change for dinner. When the room was actually made up, the bathroom wasn't clean and none of our items (other than the towels) had been replaced. No harm, we got what we needed from the apologetic concierge and had a great time anyhow. read more

An absolute disgrace to the Hilton name. Beautiful lobby and friendly staff but when I arrived yesterday they told me I had been reassigned to a "non-Balcony" room due to a pipe leak which closed the second tower completely. Seeing other persons staying in the balcony rooms a maintenance man told me that the hotel wasn't full so everyone was moved to the tower I was in. checkin was efficient and fine. The room was clean and acceptable but without the balcony I paid extra for. No compensation was offered for this. Time for dinner last night and the restaurant was closed for a private function but that meals were being served in the bar. Bartender was great but this was not a restaurant - more a pub-like bar. Went out for breakfast this morning as the breakfast buffet would have to be rated poor at best. In addition the restaurant was obviously understaffed. Opted for dinner from the sparse hotel bar menu for convenience sake. Was told that dinner was only being outside and the inside restaurant and bar were closed. A bit too cold to sit outside - people were complaining and being told it was unfortunate. I advised the one waitress I was eating inside and after a brief conversation, including advising her I would go out and eat properly at a restaurant she reluctantly agreed to serve me inside. Others followed. Food was fine but if you are looking for a hassle free trip this is not the hotel for you. Just FYI -- It's now just after 6PM and the fitness center is closed. I was told it was not open today. This is not the hilton quality I have been accustomed to in the past and certainly won't be acceptable in the future - it's disappointing to see a hotel go downhill so fast. Stayed only one night due to an event in the area but hung out at the pool for a whole afternoon.....several things I would like to point out: They have 2 towers so if you are in group and would like to be near each other remember this and request to be in the same tower. My tower (1) was great, my friends were in tower (2) and it was hot and musty on their side. There seemed to be a lot of "local" traffic around the pool, they need to lock down that area better, anyone can walk in the front door and head to the pool/beach. This is not a quiet pool, a lot of kids with toys and splashing, so def come with the kids for a good time. The pool bathrooms are very close and convenient but I rarely saw kids use it and for this reason I did not go in the pool, the hot tub is not a place I would want to be either (yes I watched all as I tanned HA). If you want an ocean view makes sure it is floor 3-up or you will be looking at a roof. Food was on the pricey side so check out local places (we had a full breakfast ($7) at a local joint down the street). I have read where service was slow but I saw staff running food out to the pool constantly. The bartenders at the tiki bar could use some perking up....they are nice enough but very dull (yes I visited it in the evening and afternoon, so got a variety of staff and still the same blahhh feeling). Parking is only $8 which I feel is great considering I have paid $20-$30 some places w/out a beach!! Other staff I encountered were friendly and pleasant. Honestly, this is probably one of the worst experiences at a hotel that I have had. I definitely expected a world class experience as it is one of the nicer hotels on the beach and I had an oceanfront room. Really, the hotel itself is nice and pretty much what you expect but my problem was with the customer service. I honestly have had immensely better service at at Super 8 than I received at this hotel. 1. They overcharged my debit card for incidentals....no problem, I mentioned it and they fixed it however the next day not only had they charged the same amount again but they doubled it and charged waaay to much for room service fees!! They ended up overdrafting the account with all the charges they placed on the card. When I brought it up to the front desk girl she treated me like I was an idiot in front of a lobby full of guests. 2. My room was never cleaned the first week (I stayed for 11 days). The housekeeper would come in and make the bed but that was the extent of it. I never had clean towels, the soaps were never fulfilled and the room itself was never cleaned. I even left a couple of tests to see if my suspicions were correct and the housekeeper failed. I will say that when I brought it up to the front desk, they apologized and left 2 free meal tickets under my door but the second week was not much better. Honestly though I'm tired of dealing with it so I'm just living with no towels and a messy room! :) My company gives a LOT of business to Hilton, specifically this hotel and I several of my colleagues have had the same experience. The hotel is located right on the beach. Get a beach vista room if possible. The hotel looks nice and is in a great location. Plenty of stores, restaurants and churches nearby. Not really walking distance so I recommend a car. Overall a good Personally our experience with the hotel staff was lacking. We were booked for early check in for a corporate event and when we arrived they did not have rooms available, were rude and made us wait 3 hours to get a room. Check out was rude too. Attempted to charge me for purchases made the day before when we were at Universal Studios the entire day and got back at 10 pm and went straight to bed. They dropped the charge but made it out like I was lying about not being gone. They couldn't even tell me what I supposedly bought. read more

Overall a great hotel. We had an oceanfront junior suite that I would highly recommend, it was worth the upgrade to be able to open the doors and here the ocean sound every morning, and view the beautiful beach. The room itself was good size with an updated 42" TV, and an extremely comfortable bed. It is an older hotel so the bathroom setup is still a little dated but not to bad. The pool overall is fairly small but it does stay open late in the summer time and they had a nice tiki bar that serves food and drinks (full bar). Live music during the day gives it nice tropical feel. The staff and service have been excellent the (3) times we have stayed. Will definetly stay here again next time we are back in the Melbourne area. read more

I've stayed here multiple times for work. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean. You can't beat the oceanfront views from the ocean view rooms in the South Tower. Try to get a room with a full balcony. I really wish that the balcony doors had a screen, but it's still nice to have. Parking is $8 per day and I think that's reasonable for an oceanfront property. Easy beach access and I've found a couple of pieces of sea glass a few times. There is usually a line at the front desk, but service is typically good. I like it this property a lot. read more

I stayed here last week while I was in town for work. The hotel room was nicely decorated and very clean. I also had a balcony with a partial view of the ocean which was nice and relaxing! The real thing that makes this hotel wonderful, besides the beautiful location, is the staff! The front desk crew were extremely nice and helpful and every waiter and bartender that I encountered were fantastic. There is a nice pool area with pool bar and walkway that takes you directly to the beach. Next time I'm in town for work I will definitely be staying here! read more

Not what I expect from a Hilton. I travel a lot for work and for Family vacations. Hilton tends to be our preferred brand because of their outstanding standards, service and amenities. Positives - This hotel has a good location, decent staff located on the beach with a decent pool. Downsides, it was not mentioned the hotel was under construction and I have attached the photos from the Construction right outside my balcony. There was also trash and cigarette butts right outside of my balcony which I assume was from the Construction Crew. The room finishes were in need of an upgrade and the bathroom was smaller than my closet at home, you have to shut the Bathroom door or side step the toilet to get out of the shower. The beach was not maintained as well as others I have been to, and was covered in a significant amount of Dead ocean vegetation which meant you could not lay on the beach not to mention the smell from the dead vegetation. You have to pay for parking at this location , not a significant amount but when there are other better maintained options in the area with free complimentary parking it just does not make sense. The price is reasonable for a nice ocean front hotel with balcony but again that is not what you currently get at this property. read more

Nikki was extremely friendly from the start. Had my key ready and a welcome bag upon arrive. The outside looks like same as most others in the area. Less than decorative, but when you have to rebuild ever 5-10 yrs no sense in spending money on outside decor. Inside is much nicer than outside. Room was clean and bed was nice as the hilton name is. Oceanview room did not disappoint. Nice large outside pool with outside bar. Direct beach access with chairs available for additional. There is a rock reef along the entire beach front but once past the rock reef it was sandy and clear. Beach had soft white sand. Defiantly returning if in the area. read more

I've stayed at 10 different hotels in the Port Canaveral to Melbourne area for work . I don't recommend this one. It's mainly the attitude of the management & employees that turns me off. They're costly and add charges for parking like most places on the beach, but then they made mistakes and charged for meals I didn't have. They removed the cost but were arrogant. The WiFi was miserably weak and the signal fluctuated making it difficult to work. Even the TV signal fluctuated. The staff is cold and prefers laughing with each other over taking care of customers. A 1/2 cup bowl of fruit for breakfast was $7. $8 to park. You would expect better service at the prices they charge. There are so many other hotels in the area better and friendlier than this one. read more

We will never stay at this hotel again! After we accidentally left a few belongings and called the hotel immediately to inform them. They claimed our things weren't in the room, or never found. I was told by the head of housekeeping, that their staff always returns left or lost items in. Well, this time they didn't because our things have magically vanished. Was in town for the rocket launch. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is on a great ocean front location. Really no complaints about the stay at all. The only reason for the 4 stars and not the 5 is the carpet in the room needs replaced. The pattern was actually worn off in some spots. Also we found Bobby pins on the floor of the room read more

The on site restaurant is a good place to eat breakfast and dinner. The beach is very nice. The pool and hot tub are a little small but sufficient. My drama began when I was awakened by a Hilton, Melbourne front desk employee, informing me my car had been broken into, in their parking lot. Several police were busy filing reports for damage to, at least, 10 vehicles. My stay was work related, but due to this incident I will miss two work days to resolve claims and repairs from break in damages. My passenger side window was completely shattered and the drivers side window was all scratched. Although the cost, aggravation and inconvenience of this situation is a hardship, I am grateful it was only property, not people. Hilton's customer service to their guests was a failure in this situation. They failed to accept any responsibility, failed to apologize, failed to even offer breakfast, or compensate their guests, in any way. They failed to provide any assistance in removing broken glass all over my seats. I am driving 4 hours back home, with my windows taped and boarded for me, by a kind police officer. It sucks for me, but it was so much worse for a family with young children, who were clearly set back by this incident. It is disappointing that Hilton management did nothing for their guests. I travel for business frequently, but I will never stay at a Hilton again. Zero consideration was demonstrated. read more

We made reservations through a third party at a bit of a discount. The exterior is nice. From what I understand they renovated considerably after some hurricane damage. When we arrived the desk seemed confused by only one reservation. After several minutes of discussion and a review by the desk manager they were unable to find the reservations. Just as I was picking up the phone to create havoc for some poor customer service rep, when they found the reservation. In the same name we said it was. Lost a star there. We were in the North tower which was a little less impressive than the one across the way. The room was nice but like most hotels here, it cannot seem to break away from the 1970s heyday of Florida. The pool was small but seemed about the right size for the hotel. There was a small tiki bar on the deck with a duo of Jimmy Buffet wannabes hanging out on the microphones. We only stayed the night so we did not have a great deal of time to check out the restaurant and other amenities and the lounge was closed because of a large wedding. The rooms were clean and the appliances were updated. The beach has a reef right on the beach so you have to be aware of this before jumping in. Overall, it was a good hotel and at a competitive price. We had a good view of the ocean. However, somewhat of a disappointment for a Hilton. read more

We just stopped in here for some drinks. They were setting up for a wedding so the place was pretty packed. Standing room only at the outside bar, and we had to find a table and scoop it up. The server was super slow, maybe caused by the fact that they didn't have enough glasses, they kept sending people out to get the glasses due to them running out. read more

We have two small children and wanted adjoining rooms - one with a king and one with 2 doubles. When we made the reservation we were told they could accommodate this - called two hours before arrival to find that they did not have this. I eventually asked nicely if they had any other options such as a suite and they did find one that had an adjoining room to it. Note that the rooms with 2 beds are double beds- not queens. Also, the beds are not very comfortable and the beach is all of about 30 feet from the dunes to the water. Lastly, none of the hallways in the hotel are air conditioned. Yuck. read more

Booked one night (6/30). We "pre-checked in" at 12:00 noon. Got a text from the hotel at 2:00 PM that our rooms were ready. Got there at 5:30. Check in was at 4:00. Was told that the rooms were not ready yet. Had to sit in the lobby waiting for the rooms to get ready. After 15 minutes, was told they were ready. Reservation was for two rooms, one king size bed and the other with double beds. Asked for adjoining rooms. The rooms both had king size beds and were not adjoining (not sure what their definition of adjoining is but the rooms did not "connect" via an inner door). Was told that they had no other rooms available. And to "make it up to us they gave us vouchers for a free dessert (with one paid entree). Wow. Just wow. read more

This hotel was the worst hotel ever. There were so many things wrong with it, it was a disgrace they make money off of the room conditions. My stay at the hotel was from June 15th thru June 24th. Just to name a few issues, (which by the way I have taken pictures), partially painted walls that you can see the brush marks across the whole wall, partially painted ceiling that they didn't use the texture on to match the rest of the ceiling, chip paint on the wall, totally rusted bathroom fixture, outlets didn't work, light bulbs out, outlet falling off the wall in the bathroom thank goodness I didn't get electrocuted etc. In addition, they placed drunken kids next door who were loud, drunk, smoking which came into our room which caused us to keep our patio doors closed, had a dog which barked all night etc. Upon checking out I reported the room issues to the supervisor and I was told the manager would be calling me to discuss the issues by 3:45 that afternoon. Needless to say that phone call never happened. This hotel needs major work and it is sad the rate they charge for such a low end hotel. I thought Radisson was a better brand, but my experience shows it is compatible to staying at a Red Roof Inn or Travelodge grade. I have taken pictures of everything and showed this to the front desk staff and supervisor and even offered to go back to the room so they can see it and both refused. Pictures don't lie. Absolutely terrible. No one should have to pay Radisson prices for a Red Roof Inn brand of rooms. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE read more

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for a yearly conference. The facilities are pretty nice except for being placed in a room that overlooked their air conditioning unit. So much for hearing the ocean at night. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The maids even though we left our do not disturb sign on our door took the time to place new towels and toiletry items in a bag and left it at our door. The bad: - While the food was decent my wife found mold, yes mold, on one of her bagels before she ate it. Seriously I am not sure how anyone could overlook that. - We were placed in a handicap accessible room and the hotel was far from being full. While the extra space was nice it was not necessary for us being placed in this kind of room especially if someone else more deserving could use it. Having worked at a hotel before the Hilton Melbourne is close to being a very, very nice place to stay! read more
