First time staying at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs. The hotel is in need of updating. Service at the front desk checking in was great. Not everyone in the lobby was wearing a mask (staff was masked), there are signs stating masks are required. It would be nice if the staff enforced mask wearing. The staff at The Falls pool were all exceptional. We used the texting with the hotel option for needs which was nice. However we were emailed that we had an option to upgrade to a cabana for the weekend. Upon checking in we texted with the front desk and were informed the cabanas were sold out so our request was not honored. The next morning we asked the pool staff and they let us know there were plenty of cabanas to rent. As a matter of fact we were one of 5 cabanas taken in the lower pool area. Clearly not sold out. The housekeeping doesn't understand what do not disturb means. I was woken up by them at 8:27am with the housekeeper banging on my door repeatedly and on the fourth time she did it, she put her key at the magnet ready to walk in right when I opened the door. It's understandable that there is a procedure to check out , that is beyond ridiculous. The lady was banging on my door like we were already past our check out time and we still had 2 1/2 hours. That lady knows she shouldn't have done that, but all I get is sorry, we will pass it along. I pay 500 for a room just to be rudely awaken, I don't appreciate it at all and won't be returning there. Maisha at the front desk is the rudest most inconsiderate person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. We paid x amount on booking.com which clearly indicated what was included in the charges, but she insisted that wasn't covered by the hotel and wanted us to pay more and wouldn't even give us any time of day to express our concerns or frustrations. Very scenic resort. The property has lots of steep hills. They have a cart service that will take you from your room to the lobby or restaurant on site. All of the staff are extremely nice and helpful. The room needed some deep cleaning and updating. Very old looking. There is a refrigerator but no microwave. The tub was very dangerous. Short in height and slippery. I fell and had to fill out an incident report with security. They were extremely helpful. Overall it was a nice place to stay. read more

This place is just going down hill and needs renovation. The pool was fine, although the secondary pool was quite warm. The service at the cabanas was just fine. One of our rooms was not available until 8pm. The rooms need so much updating. From the carpets, to the walls, to not having a smart TV. They really want me to pay $20 for movies that currently stream on many platforms. How do you not have smart TVs so the kiddos are entertained at night. read more

After a terrible experience at the Hilton at the Peak we transferred the remainder of our stay to the Tapatio. What a breath of fresh air. Clean quiet room that got very cool, wonderful pools. and an adult pool that stayed open until 11:00 instead of closing at 7:00. The desk clerk Savannah could not have been more pleasant. I really wish I'd read the reviews before booking here... I don't know that I've ever stayed at a more depressingly overpriced hotel. The room was VERY weathered to the point that the balcony was all but inaccessible as the lock on the screen was fully detached from the door. It didn't look like any fixture had been updated in 20 years or so... exposed lightbulbs, slightly worn carpet, refrigerator that pulled out of it's enclosure. The TV's are wal-mart clearance caliber, and small.... We went out to dinner, and while the service was friendly (and food okay), the venue choice was also way out of date. It felt more like a lodge made for 1970, think The Shining, than it did for the current era :( The only thing missing were animal heads on the wall. The best I can say about this grossly overpriced stay, is that the staff is very friendly... they just deserve a better office to go to every day read more

The location of the Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs as well as the actual villas offers a pleasant family or business environment. We observed that the visiting clientele at the Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs seemed to have obligations, tourist activities, or other opportunities during the day. We are used to Marriott Beach/Mountain Timeshares in which 90+% of the owners and visitors will spend most of the day at the resort, and perhaps take a dinner break at a nice restaurant. The Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs are in a neat geographic location, and the desert and mountains are prominent; visitors may see the North Mountain Preserve and the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The balconies are a major plus, and we always enjoy a washer dryer located in the villa. The Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs are located at 10410 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85020. The resort telephone is 602.994.9805. Business conferences require national and international travel. We observed many years ago that there are numerous advantages in trading into a timeshare near the city's Convention Center rather than reserving a hotel room. Very often conference days may begin at 7:00AM and end near 10:00PM, and a "home-like" timeshare is greatly appreciated. In some instances, it is possible to extend the visit to include some free weekend time, and the nearby timeshare offers a grand method to explore the destination. A visit to any timeshare exchange website will list many timeshare properties in the Phoenix Scottsdale metropolitan area. We have enjoyed using timeshares rather than hotels at the following convention cities: Honolulu, Seattle, Denver, Orlando, Phoenix, Vancouver, Anaheim, Calgary, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, New Orleans, San Diego, Myrtle Beach, Savannah, and Salt Lake City. In some instances, it may be better to use branded hotels. This national convention is nearly a weeklong, and we fly into Phoenix's Sky Harbor airport. As the traveling public is aware, Phoenix's Sky Harbor airport is billed as America's friendliest airport. Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the U.S., and Sky Harbor airport ranks among the tenth busiest U.S. airports; although, travelers will not suffer the frazzle and hassle of other airports. Sky Harbor airport is a pleasure to visit; Sky Harbor airport is a modern U.S. airport that may serve as a model for large U.S. airports. Care has been taken by Sky Harbor airport to provide an aesthetic environment of Southwest art, food, and ambience. The volunteers seem to be everywhere. The central car rental park is well designed. The directions from Sky Harbor airport to the Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs are clear, and traffic and navigation are easily accomplished. And because the Phoenix road map is largely a parallel and perpendicular grid, we found city driving, and city center driving to be effortless. The Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs was one of our rare RCI exchanges, and the limited photos on the RCI website offer accurate photos of the Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs villas. We elected a two-bed room, two-bathroom unit; somehow, my wife can always fill an extra bedroom with "her stuff." The villas are clean, well maintained, and cared for. We would rate the villas as "excellent." The villas are accessed through an electric gate, and we like this feature. Care has been taken with the Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs landscaping, and the landscaping adds to the Southwest ambience. We noticed that several families enjoyed the villas, and many guests were first time visitors. We found the kitchen at the Vacation Condos at Tapatio Cliffs to be adequate and well stocked. While the kitchen, dining area, living room and bedrooms were not large; these rooms seemed fine for a week's visit. All living areas are very nicely decorated and have an inviting South West flavor. The suburban location provided views of the mountains and the surrounding desert. The three pools are an attraction that we enjoyed and found that other guests did as well. Our experience with check in proceeded very well and required little time. The office staff as well as other staff were friendly and approachable. At no time did a time sales staff member bother us. There are limited activities at this resort, and this was not a problem for us. read more

Faculty was pleasant, friendly and super helpful. They gave suggestions about what to do and where to eat. The view from the room was Gorgeous and there were so many pools to choose from. Check in and out was easy. One of the things that stood out the most about this place is the staff and how hard they work. They offer these rides from when in of the resort to the other because it's so big and the staff always greeted us with a smile and were outside our room or picked us up promptly. Everywhere you went there was beautiful views and multiple waterfalls. Another great thing about this resort is that it's surrounded by nature and there's hikes around it so I recommend taking your hiking shoes, sunblock and a hat. read more

I don't quite understand some of the reviews that has been left. Maybe we were just super lucky. I booked my reservation, and called the hotel directly to ask a few local questions. Spoke to three different employees, and all were super friendly. Really made me feel excited about our stay. Based on reviews, I knew this resort was not going to be most updated and modern. The exterior could use some updating. One thing I didn't like was how tight the streets are between buildings. I just had to drive slower and more carefully to navigate. It was no big deal. The room is a living room with a bar area with a mini fridge, sofa, chair, desk/chair and tv. Then you have a sink area and separate tub/toilet room. And then your bedroom with balcony. I would say the photos were exactly what we got. I was very happy and pleased with our room. It was clean and comfortable. The pickle ball and tennis courts are in great condition. The pools were a bit too cold to use, but we did use and enjoy the hot tub. When I called from our room to inquire about the pickle ball court reservations, front desk kindly transferred me to the pro golf shop. That gentleman was friendly. When I called front desk to ask for more supplies, they transferred me to housekeeping. That lady was friendly. Received a text mid stay to inquire about how things were. Day before check out, received another text and was offered auto text check out. Super convenient and efficient. I have to say, it was really a pleasure staying here. read more

We recently had a funeral service with lots of people coming in from out of town. I recommended The Pointe to my family because it's close to my home and thought it had a nice vibe. We rented a total of 6 rooms and cabanas. Lots of money. My son, wife and 2 kids had a room on the first floor. The people above them kept them up every. single. night. They called the front desk who sent security. No relief. THEN - they moved my son and family to another room on their last night here, so they were punished for the behavior of the people above. My son said just give us a refund for the final night and we will stay with my mom. The answer was no. There were many small disappointments that my sister is going to Yelp, but the big thing was the neighbors above and moving my family on their last day. Honestly I will not recommend The Pointe to anyone again. What an expensive disappointment. read more

I was so disappointed in this Resort. We stayed here last night for our wedding night. We selected this resort because it was near our home (where our wedding was), and we've always heard great things. By the time we got in, we were absolutely exhausted, wanted to shower and relax. We got to our room, the space overall was fine, but the bathroom situation was not good. It was almost impossible to walk into the room with the shower and toilet because of the way the door is attached (I'll add a pic!). The shower had what looked like mold in it, was not clean and all and as soon as you start the water the tub fills up and hardly drains- GROSS! And the faucet was almost completely detached. I came to Phoenix for my kid's college graduation and hadn't been in my first room five minutes before I spotted the first roach crawling around on the coffee bar/refrigerator area. The reason they get two stars is because I immediately went down to the desk and got assigned a new room. Unfortunately, the room wasn't ready so kiddo and I went out to dinner with some friends who were also in town and it was available when I got back. I tried to shower the next morning only to find that there was pubic hair on the walls of the shower and some sort of red substance pooled around the drain. I called my daughter and showered at her place after letting the front desk know there were issues. I was assured that the shower area would be cleaned, but as you can probably guess it was not. I went back down to the front desk after trying to call several times and getting no answer. Was again assured that Housekeeping was nearby and the room would be cleaned. When I returned EIGHT HOURS later, the shower was still dirty. At that point I just borrowed some cleaners from my kid and cleaned the mess up myself. I don't know where the breakdown in communication occurred, but I can see why this location is only 2.7 stars. Definitely not worth the money. read more

The pizza didn't taste good only flavor was the pineapple and we have been here for about almost two hours and the heat hasn't warmed up our room the way it should already be warmed overall we are not impressed and the people who first checked us in gave us a room on the top floor when we asked for a first floor room. Went back to a different person at check in and they gave us the correct room. Will update on the spa services the room is over all clean but if you like lights in your room then it is dark. If you need help finding your room when you first check in good luck we asked several workers didn't guide us to help us out. Stayed here for a few days because my daughters apartment is practically next door and she had my parents occupying her spare bedroom. Let me start by saying the hotel is a HUGE property. But not to worry you can call to get shuttled if needed. The lobby area is nice and welcoming and the receptionist friendly and helpful. Upon entering the room it feels spacious with the living and bedroom area separate. It's no frills but clean and has WiFi, tv, a balcony to relax and most important a comfy bed to sleep in. Wanted to grab a quick drink that first night but It was too bad the cabana closed at 9 vs 10 like we were told. The second night is where it all went wrong, after being out all day we came back to the room to find an ant infestation. We had absolutely no food in the room! I can tell you the team responded very quickly and had somebody come evaluate the situation. They worked quickly to get us a new room which just happened to be next door. Well guess what, after packing and moving everything over guess what the little buggers were in the new room. We were then moved to another room in another building. Oh what fun to have to move several several luggage's and lug them yet another place. Yes they did help but there was so many to save time and trips, of course we helped. The night just got worse, not only did I start working several hours later because of the incident but the WiFi wasn't working for about another hour. So the most frustrating part out of all of this. Nobody called to check in, I emailed the hotel manager twice and received no response. I then went to the corporate site and was told that someone should contact me in 3 days to address the issue. Well I'm sure you guessed it by now, no call back. I do not recommend staying here and I'm questioning my Hawaii trip which is booked at another Hilton....Marriott I'm sorry I cheated on you! read more

I just came here when I visited Arizona for the very first time. Was a pretty nice place overall. I liked how there were so many pools and the hills location was superb for the views. The staff were friendly and the bell men who drove the carts around would give you rides around the resort anytime you needed them to. The place was definitely like a maze. I felt it was a little daunting because there were so many twists and turns but once you knew which numbered building your room was at, you'd get use to it. I liked it's location in Phoenix. It's not in the heavily congested/downtown area and it's only 20 minutes from the airport so very good location. Food was decent at Pointe in Tyme but to me the breakfast buffet was far better then the dinner. My only real disappointment and I don't particularly blame this resort for it but the Detours American West Company that offers many tours to people who come to Arizona and for the Grand Canyon (since who doesn't come for that?) would not pick me up at this location so I had to go to different hotels/resorts to get picked up every time. Hope that changes and this location gets on the list because Detours American West did say this resort was not on their list. It was only a minor inconvenience for me because I rented a car anyways but for people who don't rent a car and didn't plan to go out on their own, it could be an issue. read more

Only stayed in phoenix for 12 hours as our flight got delayed. We looked around the city for a great hotel with pool access. This was the best! Huge resort, plenty of pools to choose from although the water slide and hidden pool are closed. The breakfast on site was fulfilling and the coffee was delicious! We would deff come back the 20 min ride to and from the airport wasn't so bad when this is your destination! Would deff stay longer if I had the opportunity and recommend to anyone. Five stars for effort, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we are having a good time at this resort. I am a diamond level at Hilton hotels so I get treated pretty well, all over the world when I travel, but the attention I got from this staff was impressive. The only negative is that we were not able to dine in their fine dinning restaurant because we didn't make a reservation in advance. The property is beautiful with several pools, golf course and a water park. Unfortunately we didn't do too much of the outdoor activities due to the 111F degrees weather. I recently stayed here for the holiday weekend. The hotel is huge. Getting to and from your room can be confusing but they have attendants who give your golf cart rides. I came and stayed alone and I felt safe the whole time. They have great room service options for eating alone, Starbucks located inside and a cute gift shop. The hotel staff is very friendly. After hours in traffic we finally arrived. David was very personable at check in. After we finally located our suite we were very disappointed in the accommodations. We are Diamond members and this suite was supposed to be an upgrade. It did not meet our expectations. David at registration was very diligent in finding a much better upgrade to meet our status. After everything that's happened over the past year, we were SO excited for our first overnight date in a long time!! We did some research and found this resort w pretty great rates, so we booked through a third party and prepared for a great night! When we got there, we were told about a couple hidden fees (not much, about $25) so not too big of a deal. We had hoped to hang out at one of the pools, but all were PACKED and we couldn't find chairs available at any of them. We also tried to reserve a table at the Different Pointe of View restaurant, but there were none available...understandable but disappointing. When we got to our room, a suite on the third floor w views on one side of the adult pool and the other a few of the family pool, we were pretty satisfied...pretty clean, though it didn't take long to notice remnants of a previous party (there were pieces of phallic confetti on the floor, several pieces, ha!). We chalked this up to an oversight. After coming home from dinner (we had to Uber to another restaurant because there was no availability at any of their restaurants, boo!) we noticed a very strong smell of rotten eggs in the room. At around 8:45pm we called down to the lobby, no answer. The same was true for 9pm. It seemed to go away when we opened our back door, but it was loud w the pool below...at around 9:30pm we called back down and were told someone would be up to take a look. We got out of bed and dressed and waited...and waited...and waited...calling back a few more times w no answer. Finally at 11pm we decided to just sleep w the backdoor open (at least it was a nice night), because we couldn't wait any longer. When we got up to shower in the morning, I was really grossed out that the bathtub wouldn't drain while on the shower, so I was standing in 6 inches of water...probably the reason for the sewage smell? We dined at the Pointe of View breakfast buffet...it was pretty good food, and then headed back up to pack and check out. When I checked us out, I shared this feedback w the front desk, who made no attempt to apologize for the smell, the lack of communication, or the lack of follow up on addressing the issue...she said "we will send someone up to take a look now" which certainly doesn't help us upon checkout, ha! All in all, while the views are beautiful and it seems pretty clean, it wasn't the best experience and I don't think we will staycation here again. Customer service is, indeed, key! read more

We are locals and have been to several Scottsdale resorts and hotels for staycations, with some business travel throughout the US, but this location is amazing, as the resort is tucked away in-between the mountain cliffs in north Phoenix, the layout seems massive, but they have you covered, as they give you a number to text/call and/or dial from your room, to have a golf cart take you wherever you need to go (please tip) I was really blown away with the service, we were checked in early by the wonderful Mr. Robbie/Robert, and he was amazing!! 10/10, so nice, kind and professional! We loved our room, loved the amenities, how spacious and clean everything was, how nice the staff was through-out, from the front desk, groundskeepers to the golf cart attendants, only to be let down by our pool server, our morning server/bartender was amazing, he even wished my sister a happy birthday, and was so kind and attentive!! We loved our first pool server, I wish i remembered his name at 11:30am, on Thursday, June 13th, he was amazing!! Our second guy that same day, at around 5:30pm behind the Cascade Cafe, did not provide the same service, and charged us right away, as we still wanted to spend time there and snack away. I felt like he thought we would dine and dash, how dreadful, as he told us he needed to close us out right as we ordered, we even had a women/manager approach us about our small cooler that had ice, water bottles and ceviche. They had initially informed us plastic was fine, yet we felt that was enough for us to get out of there and head back to our room. This is an amazing Hilton property that also has beautiful fountains throughout, luxury vacation homes, apartments and condos. This property is home to one of my favorite restaurant experiences in Phoenix where you lost assuredly will experience A Different Point of View. My rate included breakfast and the restaurant told me that the charge would be reversed on my bill. After reviewing my bill when I got home, I was charged for all of the breakfasts, even though all over the bill it stated that "Breakfast is included". I'm very much in the middle on this property. People were nice but I also got my wallet stolen which I am 100% certain was from a hotel employee. You have to get escorted to your room on a golf cart because the rooms are a strike to get to. Food is good but heavy bread. Restaurant is awesome. Room got cleaned even though I didn't request it and I was only here for 3 nights which made me question their signage which clearly stated rooms were only cleaned every 5 nights or on request. Rooms were very nice and spacious and cozy. We were able to get parking right in front of our door which was nice. Traveled with our 3 1/2 year old and he loved all the pillows in our bed as well as the pool! Pool was perfect for us, as well as the bar and service. The food we got poolside was also so delicious!!! I would definitely stay at this resort again in the near future. within the first 10 minutes of my kids and I checking in we get in the room it smelled old and musty. My kids 8 and 5 went to look outside on patio and my 5 year old daughter who doesn't even weigh 30 lbs barely leaned her hands on table to look over the small wall and the concrete table fell broke her left big toe and even part of the concrete broke off and her toe is infected. They did make a security report s/o Aarya Levy who was amazing. Same night we found roaches in our room and the office would not change our room. I ended up taking my daughter to hospital and found out it was broken and infected. They did refund me on my room, but since I just started working at a new place insurance doesn't kick in until 10/1 and so we had to pay $350 to emergency room, $60 for antibiotic, and over $1000 for ortho appointment and now the security team and trying to say that my daughter pushed the table down and they aren't reliable. Still waiting to hear back from director of security but hes ooo for a month. read more
