I rarely stay in Tucson when traveling on my way back west but decided to stay because I couldn't drive any further and felt myself getting so tired. I stopped here for a one night stay and I felt immediately welcomed. The room was a decent size and beds were comfortable. Normal amenities nothing high end but all was well set for just one night. The bed slept good but could have used more pillows. The room location where we roomed was quiet and we didn't hear anything around us (loud kids, music, or foot traffic) on our stay which was great & made for a comfortable sleep. I would definitely come back to stay if I'm ever in Tucson again. read more

Let me start with... the front desk supervisor, young man in the bucket hat that brought us a blanket and the lady at breakfast were all so nice and friendly. The room and hotel are definitely tired and run down. Bed was not comfortable and horrible water pressure. Spots of ??? all over the carpet and walls. But the main reason I won't stay there again is because they charge $15 per night for parking. I was told they didn't charge for it anymore but they still do. When I asked about it she said they had a security guard all night in the parking lot. I went to my vehicle twice after dark and never saw a security guard. I even hung around outside waiting to see someone walking around and nothing. So I'm assuming it's just another income stream. A group I belong to used to meet there monthly but the food was going down every month and the rates were going up. So we went elsewhere. Sadly it used to be one of the nicer hotels in Tucson. Really disappointed to read so many poor comments about this location. We just spent a week here and had a fantastic experience. Ms Alicia at the front desk deftly managed the customer experience. From welcoming and greeting us, to early check in. The hotel staff is very engaging, sending out daily text messages to see how our stay was going and if they could help out on anything. Rooms were extremely clean and stocked with fresh towels. Linens and bedding nice and comfy. The restaurant was staffed by Fast Eddie and Ms Maddi. Lots of delicious food choices and a full bar. Whether traveling for business or a family event, I highly recommend this location. Happy Trails everyone. read more

Decent enough "but".... This place needs a serious revamp. Alot of minor issues that you will notice. Maybe thats why the O is not lit up on side of the building. Dirty shower head, old furniture, room door lock doesn't work correctly, maid service leaves 1 clean towel, small paint scrapes, elevator up/down panel loose on 6th floor...these are the small things you start noticing all over the hotel or for your room. Now don't wander too far south from hotel if you decide to take a leisurely stroll. Beware of the homeless camps set up 1/4 mile from hotel property. Used condoms in south parking lot. Graffiti. Not so much Hotel's fault. City has made it easy for the homeless and druggies to get around with free bus service. This should be a nicer hotel but seems to need work and care. read more

This was my first visit to Tucson and I was expecting much more from this property. For starters when I arrived I was not given a parking pass, from there after a long day of travel my room keys did not work which meant multiple trips down to the front desk to try to have it corrected. The service at the restaurant was awful they were so slow to take our order, I asked for a mocktail I never received that . The server kept telling us they we could not substitute our sides. I finally asked her to ask the chef and sure enough we were able to sub our sides. Finally, I ordered room service one morning. I left my tray outside when I left the hotel at nine in the morning , I came back at 6 PM the tray was still outside of my door with all of the food still there. I called down at least four times asking them to remove the tray finally two hours after that they finally removed my tray. My suite was very dated with chipped and dented furniture. This is definitely not what I expect from Hilton and I will not be back. read more

Parking was tight with barely anything available late night. I stayed here because it's close to where I'm golfing the next day, otherwise, there's nothing really worth mentioning here. He apologized for the delay in responding, mentioned that he had been out of town for a conference, and gladly reversed the charge. BEWARE of Unjustified Charges and Poor Communication My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Tucson East for just one night, and what should have been a simple and comfortable overnight visit turned into an ongoing and frustrating ordeal. We checked out at the front desk on the morning of June 30 with no mention of any additional fees. However, several days later, we noticed a pending charge of $560.25 on our account. Initially, we assumed it was a temporary hold and waited to see if it would fall off. Unfortunately, it posted to our account the next day. I contacted Hilton Customer Service and was informed that the charge was due to a smoking fee. This was a complete shock, since neither my husband nor I smoke. I disputed the charge and was transferred directly to the front desk at the Hilton Tucson East. The staff member I spoke with said she would email me further details, which she did. To my surprise, the email referenced the use of a "clean air detector," which allegedly triggered the smoking fee. It also noted that certain non-smoking odors like candles or incense could set off this sensor. That's when it clicked -- I had lit a nice scented candle that night for ambiance, not realizing it could lead to a serious charge. Still traveling, I promptly went through my luggage, took photos of the used candle, and drafted a professional email explaining the situation, including photo evidence. I sent this directly to Chris Sapp, the General Manager, whose contact was listed in the hotel's correspondence. I politely requested that the $560.25 charge be reviewed and removed, as it was clearly a misunderstanding -- not a case of smoking in the room. After five days with no response, I sent a courteous follow-up asking for a status update and confirmation that my message had been received. Unfortunately, the follow-up did not prompt a response. This experience has been extremely disappointing -- not just because of the questionable charge, but due to the lack of accountability and communication from hotel management, which I find very unprofessional. This experience makes me seriously reconsider future stays. Final thoughts: If you're thinking of staying at Hilton Tucson East, beware: simply lighting a candle could result in a $560 fee, and you may receive no response when trying to dispute it. The Hilton Tucson East is an older property desperately pretending to be otherwise. It is clean. The staff are super friendly. The bar and restaurant adequate. Our room is quiet. But from the missing "L" in the electric Hilton sign out front to the flooring and wall coverings... It just feels weathered. Our "suite," for which we paid over $1000 for a three night stay, was not what I expected. Sagging ceiling from water damage; noisy AC wall unit; wall coverings peeling in spots; a bedroom that felt like an afterthought. There are things to like about this property... But there are also some tremendous challenges that need to be addressed. read more

Our fourth and final night here as I write, for a church retreat, finds us in our second room; #530. Not the greatest A/C but with a nicer view of the pool and mountains on the 5th floor. Our shampoo dispenser is empty though. But compared to our first second floor room #243; nights one and two, this is a step up. Room 243 had a stopped up sink, no shower gel, and the dealbreaker; mold on the ceiling above the toilet. Night two had me phoning the front desk, twice, and being assured that "someone will be up right away". That was 9:45pm and 11:10. As I was drifting off to sleep, both of us having long since gone to bed. I heard a very timid 3 knocks at our door around 12:30am. Nope! I'll get back to them in the morning. As the service mechanic came by the next morning, this kind gentle individual gave us his sincere apologies, took one look at the molding bathroom ceiling, and stated with disgust; "you all are getting moved out of here to another room immediately!" Music to my ears. This guy is to be commended. He went to get us a luggage cart, and in just a brief moment returned with the cart, our new keys to 530, and assisted in the process of our move. Even making several additional trips back and forth to bring up other items of ours we had overlooked in our haste. And regrettably would you believe it, his name totally slips my mind. But as stated in a separate review, the restaurant Alloro was my favorite part of this hotel. But with the fellowship of some 230 other church attendees from across the country, it was a very nice getaway. And despite all the minuses, Hilton Tucson East is a beautiful property with friendly staff that means well. They just need to do a complete overhaul of their guest rooms ASAP. read more

We had to stay here for several weeks during a home renovation project...there was a lot I liked about the hotel and just a few things I didn't. The lobby was nice and always clean, the glass elevator and large glass windows were kind of a unique feature and fun for the kids. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable - with a nice view of the mountains to the north. The mini-fridge wasn't actually a fridge but a bev-cooler (didn't seem to get cold enough to keep something like cheese cold but was ok for a bottle of water.) Upon request, they brought an actual mini-fridge. Also, no microwaves in the room. The only negatives were that the hot tub area could have been cleaner. The service and food at the restaurant was inconsistent. I'd recommend the hotel but probably wouldn't recommend the restaurant. read more

Hotel in decline. Probably a fine property 40 years ago, but has not been kept up over the years. Restaurant: can only speak to the breakfast situation, as I will not visit for any other meals. Basically what other hotels offer as a free breakfast bar, but here you have to pay. They call it a "buffet" but my free hotel breakfast at the Hampton the night before in Indio was much better. (And that was not great, by any means). Tasteless, hard breakfast potatoes, bland scrambled eggs, offered bacon and sausage, oatmeal was edible...just overall disappointing. They used to have a full menu, but we were told that a cook got sick so they temporarily went this route, but now it is permanent. Just an example of corporate trying to squeeze maximum profit at the expense of customers. Room: needs some updating / remodeling. The mini fridge was completely iced and inoperable. No microwave. A couple of uninspiring mass produced canvases, a chair / ottoman jammed against the wall...underwhelming. I would recommend the nearby Hampton Inn as an option. Still a Hilton property, just more economical and in better condition. read more

This hotel was cheap (July 3rd-- probably not to many hotel stayers!) and close-ish to where we were headed on Mt. Lemmon the next morning, so we booked it. The hotel was clearly built 30+ years ago. When I asked a staff member, it was confirmed the hotel was built in 1989. It's had some upgrades to revitalize an old and gigantic hotel (which is confusing because it's not near a highway, so hard to get to if you're driving in from out of town). These upgrades were okay... but in some other areas like the bathroom, more upgrades were needed. There was rust on the door frame that was crumbling off, the shower bottom was dirty and the side of the tub was peeling, mold spots on the ceiling (seriously no fan in there?), and it smelled musty and mildewy. I kept the bathroom door closed because we didn't want that creeping into the bedroom. The rest of the place was fine but you could tell by the glass elevator and outside construction it was cool construction for 30ish years ago. Probably on its way to being a Sheraton and demoted as a legit Hilton. Can't imagine they book that many conventions anymore. Maybe past its prime. read more

It's a pretty hotel, the lobby is nice; the bar staff, front desk, and spacious rooms are nice. Close to several restaurants. SO VERY LOUD! It's like there's no insulation. I hear every conversation. It needs some updating. The doors are old, there is a big gap where I can see the light coming in from the hall, and there is no way to quietly close the door, so anytime someone closes the door, it slams really loud. Also, apparently, the pipes are old, so the sink backed up two or three times, leaving a yucky residue in the sink, so that was kind of gross. Also, one of my pillows had some matter (it looked like drool or snot). I was scared of the hairdryer! It needed a cover on the back; it kept sucking my hair in! Plus the only options were super low speed or high and really, really hot! I think if they did some updates, that would make this hotel a much better option. The beds were comfortable and the heater/ ac worked great, and the room temperature quickly changed to the desired temperature, which I appreciate. The shampoos and conditioners are nice. I forget the fancy stuff I usually bring for my wavy hair, and it worked great. read more

Scam Alert - $500 "Smoke Fee" for a Burnt Blow Dryer Smell Absolutely ridiculous. I stayed here for two nights and was hit with a $500 charge for allegedly triggering a smoke detector. The only thing that happened was a burnt smell from a blow dryer--for about 30 minutes. I immediately asked the front desk to come up and smell the room to prove there was no smoking. They refused. I asked multiple times to speak to management, and they completely avoided me. Their only response? "Just dispute it with your bank." So unprofessional. No proof. No inspection. No conversation. Just a charge and a brush-off. Total scam. Avoid this place unless you want surprise charges and zero accountability. read more

The good: 1) staff is friendly and helpful 2) the hotel is clean and seems to be in good shape 3) the rooms are nice size, quiet and didn't smell of smoke. The bad: 1) the coffee machine didn't work and had to be replaced 2) only left one packet of coffee the first day 3) the refrigerator did not work and I lost about $60 worth of food 4) "room service" means going down to the 2nd floor restaurant and ordering in person (there is only an answering machine for taking orders-- I was on the 7th (top floor) 4) for parking you have to go back out to the lot and place a placard on your dash after you have checked in (rather than them taking your license plate number and checking that way), 5) check out is 10am, but check in is not until 4pm. I tried calling for an early check in and I couldn't understand the person who answered and the process was taking waaaay to long so I had to hang up before completing the call 6) I look for an ice machine room for 10 minutes, only to discover one behind and unmarked door. the light was off and another door inside was open to an abandoned room. bizarre. 7) on the third day I was gone from 8am to 7pm. upon returning, the housekeepers were JUST getting to my room at 7pm. I called down to the front desk and the response was that they had over 100 checkouts from the RenFair Conference that had been held there. Not sure what that has to do with housekeeping unless ALL of those rooms were being turned over for new guests on a Sunday? The hotel is otherwise almost empty-- like a ghost town. Wouldn't you start with the rooms where new people were going to be checking in or staying on? This is not the housekeepers fault, this is management. This location is VASTLY understaffed. More money should be spent on hiring more personnel. read more

First time at this hotel and many years since I stayed at a Hilton. Check in was easy and good customer service. Room was clean and large with your standard amenities except microwave. Breakfast buffet had plenty of hot entree's and excellent views. Large conference facilities with very good banquet and happy hour menus. Hotel is located on east side of Tucson. Lots of off-site shopping and dining options. Not my routine location, but great choice for conference venue or if you need accomodations in that part of the City. read more

I tried to stay at this place about a month ago, but there was only one desk clerk and a long line. Well, this time it was completely smooth check-in. Reservations highly recommended. The rooms are very spacious and clean. It has ALL the comforts, but oddly, no microwave oven. Rooms are beginning to show their age, but are comfortable. The area around the hotel is very well groomed and a nice pool area. The restaurant is situated in front of the hotel with local viewing. Food is well prepared and make sure you bring a big appetite. The coffee shop is open 24/7 and serves Starbucks products. The hotel is totally cashless, even for tips. Prices were not unreasonable for services and other offerings. One surprise was that the hotel offers no "complimentary" breakfast. That's a pretty common offering these days. All in all, the Hilton is a good place to stay. Just make sure to have a good credit/debit card and leave your cash elsewhere. Best wishes. read more

I've stayed at Hilton Tucson East many times over the years, but the property and management have seriously declined. Beds are uncomfortable, showers are tiny, they now charge for parking in a poorly maintained lot, and the pool/fitness center are lackluster. I tolerated all that for the convenient location. On my last stay, the room smelled faintly of cigarettes, then marijuana the next night--never said anything because it wasn't overwhelming. But then I was hit with a $500 smoking fee at checkout. Called multiple times, left messages--no response. Only got help after contacting Hilton Customer Care, but now I have to wait 30 days for a refund check. This was the last straw. When I asked to be moved, the night auditor, Josh (or John), condescendingly said "if this is how it's going to be", almost like a veiled threat. His tone was flippant and dismissive. I recently stayed at the Hilton Tucson East and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations. The hotel feels very dated and poorly maintained. In our room, paint was chipping off the walls and doors, there were noticeable smudges on the walls, the bathroom fixtures appeared old and dusty, and the carpet did not feel clean. The TV and refrigerator in the room were both not working, which added to the frustration during our stay. The pool area frequently had no towels available, and the restaurant menus were printed on crumpled paper, which gave an unprofessional impression. The staff, however, were courteous and professional throughout our visit, which was appreciated. Charging $15 per day for parking also felt excessive given the overall condition of the property. Overall, the stay was not worth the roughly $1,100 cost, and the hotel is in need of significant updates and better upkeep. I don't think we'd come back. read more

I picked this hotel based on location and price. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice lady at the front desk with a smile. Check in was quick and she went over the amenities of the hotel which I sadly didn't get to use any of them. The bar, restaurant, pool and 24 hour grab and go all sounded nice. The restaurant/bar looked lovely from the elevator. We stayed in a nice king bed room that was spacious and comfortable. The shower was amazing. Typically hotel showers don't have the best water pressure or hot water but this one had both. I would highly suggest this place to stay at. read more

Pros: Nice people work here and it shows. Parking is ample though it's $15/ night but it's well lit and there's plenty of security. The burger joint Culvers is close if you want to save a buck. Beds and rooms are comfortable. There is a little noise from people talking as they walk by your door. You cannot hear the guest above or below you. Breakfast costs extra and is the usual pastries, eggs, bacon and oatmeal. I came here in early October so I can't say what the rates are at other times. After spending a week at Hilton Tucson East in AZ (Thanksgiving 2025) I have great doubts that we shall ever step inside a Hilton again. I state this after staying in many, many Hiltons. Our first night there the tv did not work (static), the fan in the bathroom did not work (but was it a fan?), there was no bath jel in the shower container and we had the smallest hand soap bar I have ever seen which we used to bath with. There was two leftover containers of food in the rooms fridge that were pretty nasty looking. During the night the staff slipped a notice under our door stating our water would be turned off until about 4 p.m. the next day. We were told by Katherine, (whom was very nice), that housekeeping would take care of the bathroom and the leftover food and an engineer would look at the tv. The fan never did work for us. Upon our arrival the next night, the tv still did not work but I noticed a cable had been taken away from the back of it. We called the front desk and a man came up and took the tv remote and told us to put the tv on channel 4 I believe it was. We did this every time we watched the tv. Otherwise static when it was turned on. That night there was one washcloth so I gave it to my husband to bath with. The next night we had no bath towels or wash clothes when we returned. I went down to the desk to get some. We had jel soap in the shower but now we did not have any hand soap. All of this made me feel like housekeeping was messing with us. A man brought the towels up and I asked him if he had any hand soap since we had now been out of it two days. All I got was, "we are out." He turned and walked away. We had tea and coffee when we arrived the first night for the next morning. After that we had nothing. They gave us some tea for the last day because I asked for it. On Thanksgiving morning at 8:30 am we could hear very loud knocking on the doors in our hallway, knocking with some metal object like a key so it was very loud, "HOUSEKEEPING!" The housekeepers were met with some very angry voices. Not ours. The knocking ceased after several tries at several doors. When we left for the day the housekeeping carts were near our door. When we returned that evening nothing in our room had been touched. I had put our used towels in a pile by the door so they would be easy for them to pick up. NOTHING had been touched. All of this, ESPECIALLY FOR A HILTON, was unacceptable! I have had better service from a Holiday Inn. On top of all of this, when we left the hotel we had a credit of $92 dollars and when I arrived home I could see a credit of $450 that was pending from them on my visa. The credits stayed there pending for approximately four days then disappeared. Tessa and Katherine at the front desk were very professional. Tessa offered us a complimentary breakfast on the last day along with more points applied to our Hilton profile. We declined. We were done! Sorry Tucson Hilton, I cannot give you high marks on this one. Maybe if you can get a handle on your housekeeping? For now, in our travels, which are many, we will not be returning to any Hilton's which we use to seek out. One should not have to feel like they are begging for towels, soap, tea, a working tv and a clean room when staying, especially at a HILTON! And let me say one last thing.....I have never written a bad review of any hotel before. Take heed folks. read more

Attending a conference here this morning. My friend ordered a gluten free meal and we were done eating with plates cleared before her lukewarm food arrived. Her dinner ticket clearly labeled she was allergic to zucchini and squash. Both were on her plate. This morning brunch was served nearly half an hour late. The club croissant was Great! Arrived at 7:45pm and was given our room, made it to our room to find out the toilet would not flush, the bathroom sink would not drain, no hot water and the phone did not work. Went to front desk and they sent an "engineer " up , he snake the toilet and fixed the drain plug, but the sink faucets leaked. Engineer said he would return with a new phone , waited another 45 min and he never showed. Went back down to front desk and explained that there was still no hot water and the phone was still broken. I had to convince him to give us another room, since it was now 10:45pm and needed to sleep after a long flight. Front desk did give us a new room! Everything was working, but the hot water lasted about 5 min, wife had to wait an another 40 min to get warm water. This is not what I expected from a Hilton hotel and I am a Honors member!! My family and I stayed in this hotel a few weekends ago and we had a rather pleasant experience. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly accommodating us with extra keys and check in. As for the hotel itself, it was very clean and well maintained. The layout of the hotel is very nice, it has a cool glass elevator and everything is very chic. The room was spacious, clean, and the AC worked, which is a must in AZ. The pool was quite a bit smaller than the pictures show but it was still nice and clean. There was a Starbucks cafe in the lobby which was helpful in the mornings. There is a cool looking restaurant and bar but we did not go so no comment. As far as location goes, this hotel is definitely on the East side of Tucson which means there was quite a bit of driving where ever we wanted to go. It is located right on Broadway Blvd which was nice because that is a main drag for Tucson that has pretty much everything you could need. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you're in need of a reliable place to stay while visiting Tucson. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location itself isn't great but there's a little shopping center that's only a 10-15 minute walk away. I was able to buy some groceries there to bring back for breakfast. The outside entrance has some nice flowers and the inside is designed well also. It has a nice open concept with a see-thru elevator inside. The lobby and bar area are both really nice. My room was nothing special but it was clean and spacious so I didn't need much more. The pool area is really nice and I enjoyed sitting there for a while. I like the layout and the foliage around. That made my like this hotel even more! read more

When I first visited on Monday to inquire, it took 20 minutes for anyone to assist me. Eventually, Gisela Ramirez (who I assume is the event coordinator) arrived. While I understood that the ballroom and rooms were occupied that day, she scheduled an appointment for me to return on Thursday, February 27th, at 2:30 PM. I took my son out of school to see the venue, as it was his party. I arrived early, but as the appointment time approached, the front desk had no idea where Gisela was. She finally showed up seven minutes late, texting on her phone, and without any acknowledgment or apology, she told us she'd be with us soon. We then waited another eight minutes--she was now 15 minutes late. When she finally spoke to us, she immediately said we couldn't see the ballroom because there was a group inside. I asked why she scheduled the appointment if we wouldn't be able to view it, and she rudely replied that she "didn't know" they'd be using it. How is that possible when this is her job? At that point, we decided to leave, and her only response was, "OK, bye." This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We were ready to spend thousands of dollars on this event and hotel rooms, yet we were treated like an inconvenience. Gisela wasted my time and was completely unprofessional. BAD experience, DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! ( NO MICROWAVE!! Fridge not working good ). Only one working elevator due to this, wait time at each floor was almost ONE HOUR. Multiple stops at each floor because of this I was late to a very important meeting, 7 floors, lots of people and ONE elevator. I've heard it's not the first time it's been like this. Just because the hotel DOESN'T want to PAY TO FIX THE ELEVATOR. NOT ENOUGH CARTS. An hotel employee told me that they had four carts and he only saw one and it got taken right away!!!
